《Broken With My Mother In Law》 Chapter 1 Linda¡¯s POV I am a girl who has been searching for love for many years without sess. I have several jobs, one of which is walking dogs. I also have two good friends, Dn and Elena. We are very happy together. I also like hand-painting. I love life, so in my spare time, I will pick up a drawing pen to draw what I like at will, calm down and draw a picture, which canpletely rx myself. So if I could say it, I am just your normal, average girl. Early in the morning, I looked at the back of a girl I drew in the drawing book as if there was something missing. I picked up the pen again and filled in a few details on the drawing. ¡°Hi, this is Linda. Please leave a message.¡± I heard my phone ring. ¡°Hi, Linda, this is Carol from the Temporary Employee Agency Center in Los Angeles. Listen, Dr. Berthaire needs you tomorrow, okay? Please contact me as soon as you can. Goodbye.¡± I nced at the phone message and didn¡¯t care too much. I continued to paint on my drawing book.N?velDrama.Org content. ¡°Good morning, neighbor.¡± Dn greeted me as he ate a piece of bread in his hand and a cup of coffee in his other hand. ¡°Hey, help yourself.¡± I looked at hisziness and ignored him. ¡°Oh, thank you, I¡¯ve eaten it all.¡± Dn spread his hands and told me that he had finished his breakfast. It was really rude. I would like to tell him that it was rude but what was the point? He will do it again and again. I knew him already. ¡°Oh, why should I ask for trouble? You know, Dn, I gave you the key for an emergency, very, very urgent, not for you to get used to something like this.¡± I don¡¯t know what he came to my room to do again. I was a little helpless. The little girl who had been painting for a long time lost her fragrance in an instant. I tore it off and kneaded it into a ball. When I walked out of the room, I threw it at Dn, and then he received it. ¡°Yes, I need coffee,¡± he cheekily said. He came over because he wanted coffee. He didn¡¯t care. He sat on my bed. ¡°I don¡¯t know. It¡¯s good. I want to be here. Thank you.¡± He opened the picture or the drawing I crumpled and looked at what I drew on the paper. Well, it¡¯s a goodpliment. ¡°Well, I have to go to my first job. I¡¯m going to bete. You stay, have some breakfast, take a shower and rummage through my drawers.¡± Leaving Dn alone in the room, because I found my first job, I was in a good mood when I went downstairs, and I ran down in a hurry, not forgetting to send them a kiss in the photo. I was walking on the roadside when I saw an elder couple having breakfast outside of one of the local shops in town. The old man is slicing the pancake on his te, dipping it on the syrup and giving it to his wife to eat. I saw them smile at each other after that. It was very heartwarming and I felt a little jealous. I asked myself, would I be able to find a love like that in my life too? A love that wouldst, a love that is not selfish, and a love that would make my heart melt just by the stare of my partner. Am I the only one who is wishing for that kind of love, or am I just really a hopeless romantic person? I am so busy with my thoughts that I did not see a child running towards me. When I noticed him, it was already toote for me to dodge so he collided into me. ¡°Oops, I¡¯m sorry miss. Did I hurt you?¡± He asked like he was a gentleman but his tone was still like a baby. He is so cute. I want to pinch his cheeks. ¡°I¡¯m fine, little man. Just don¡¯t run next time okay?¡± I replied, pinching his chubby cheeks a little. He nodded then waved goodbye at me. I could just smile at him and think of my day so far. ¡°Hi, Linda, good morning.¡± Pushing open the door of the building I am working at, which is the door of the dog walking restaurant, I heard my aunt¡¯s familiar voice. ¡°Are the children ready?¡± I asked, pertaining to the dogs. I¡¯m going to walk the dogs, so my aunt will feed and chain the dogs in advance. They have grown up with fear of the scary pedestrians outside. ¡°Dragon! Zorro!¡± Aunt called two cute dogs. It is estimated that I will walk them every day. When I see them running excitedly, I squat down and rub their cute heads, and then take them out. ¡°Hey, kids, let¡¯s go.¡± ¡°Goodbye.¡± I said to my Aunt then walked out of the building. My part-time job every day is to help my aunt walk her dog. As soon as we went out, they ran happily, as if they hadn¡¯te out for a long time, and almost broke the chain. ¡°Goodbye.¡± I heard my aunt say back to me from a distance. I just waved my hand as a sign of goodbye then went on our way. The two dogs are so hyper that I think I will be pulled too. They just ran wherever they wanted and I was being pulled. I was right. I just sigh at my situation. After a few minutes of them pulling me and me pulling them, I think they are exhausted so they just walk. ¡°Darling, children, oh, slow down.¡± In this way, I took the dogs to the beach by the sea. The sun was shining. There were many people on the beach. They were walking, basking in the sun, and the family was ying games together. ¡°Today, the air is filled with romance, no one can refuse your charm, today don¡¯t leave home toote, don¡¯t desperately search, love is in front of you.¡± I sat on the beach basking in the sun, looking at thetest newspaper. There was a very beautiful scene, a few lovely dogs lying around me. It is so peaceful today and there was no unusual news in the newspaper. I looked at the scenery around me and could not help smiling. I wish everyday was like this. Everyday is peaceful and perfect and it will be much better if I also have someone beside me, right? Speaking of someone, I remember my future husband again. I asked myself, when would I meet you? I wish you were as handsome as I imagined you would be. I am already imagining things so I hurriedly busied my mind and read the newspaper in my hand. ¡°Hey, what¡¯s going on?¡± A little dog suddenly got up and barked at a ce I didn¡¯t know. I squinted into its sight. There is a charming man who is running on the beach side with a bare upper body, his vigorous muscles look really attractive. He appeared like a beam of light suddenly illuminating all around. I saw dementia. I should feel my burning eyes. He also looked at me, smiled at me with a white teeth, and continued to jog forward. I responded with a smile and looked elsewhere in panic. ¡°I ordered skim creamy coffee, and now I eat all the fat.¡± When I came to the cafe for coffee, I heard a guest angry at the waiter, which attracted me. I turned to look at the guest with sses and orange sportswear, who didn¡¯t look very friendly or good-looking. ¡°I¡¯ll be happy to change it for you,¡± the waiter told him hastily but he did not even let him finish speaking. ¡°Can¡¯t you even make a cup of coffee well? I have eaten fat. Is it difficult to make such a cup of coffee?¡± There were many people in the cafe, but this didn¡¯t stop the customer from arguing and scolding the waiter. He was still adamant. It was the ringing of the guest¡¯s phone that stopped them from arguing. He took out the phone in his bag, but he didn¡¯t notice what fell on the ground. ¡°If you like, I can make you another one.¡± The waiter patiently offered him another one, maybe, as a courtesy and to provide good customer service. ¡°Hello? It¡¯s okay, you¡¯ve done enough, thank you.¡± Finally, he took his cup of coffee and went out on the phone. ¡°I¡¯m sorry.¡± It may be because of being scolded by the customer but the waiter still looked at his back and apologized to him, a little disappointed. I went over and picked up the twenty dors that the guest had dropped on the ground, put it in the piggy bank, and said ¡°It¡¯s karma, cheer up.¡± to the waiter, and then backed away from the door because there was no one behind me. Chapter 2 Thank you.¡± The waiter first opened his mouth wide in surprise, and then smiled from ear to ear. ¡°Oh, I¡¯m sorry.¡± When I was busy backing up, I seemed to bump into someone, and my hair was messy. I looked up at the hit person, and my eyes shed a trace of surprise. It was the man running on the beach. ¡°Oh, I¡¯m sorry.¡± After he righted me, his face didn¡¯t look embarrassed after hitting someone, but he smiled at me again. His smile is contagious. ¡°Hi.¡± I did not change my face and prepared to go out, but he greeted me first. ¡°Hi.¡± I nodded and then walked out of the door. When I was out, I realized that I was holding my breath, so I let it out. ¡°What a day.¡± I thought out loud then got the dogs to go back to their owner. ¡°Hey, what have you got there bud?¡± I asked the other dog when we were about to head out. He is sniffing something on the ground and would not let me pull him so I checked it out. When I looked at the ground where he was sniffing, I saw a wallet lying there. It was a normal wallet, a leather one. So I pick it up and open it to know whether or not it is someone¡¯s wallet or it is already a garbage. When I fully opened it, I saw a picture, an idea and a couple of dors inside. It looked like the owner is a high school student since I can see his ID inside. ¡°Did you see it?¡± I heard a voice of a boy who asked, not so far from us. When I looked around, I saw two boys looking like they were looking for something. The other one looked familiar so I checked the ID of the person in the wallet again. And sure enough, it was him. After I returned the wallet, I wanted to walk more by the seaside but it seemed that the dogs had enough so we went back already. ¡ª When we went back, we were greeted by my aunt at the door. ¡°Hi Auntie, we are back.¡± I said as I handed her their leashes. ¡°Thank you for walking them.¡± She replied then smiled at me. I said no problem then headed back to my room. I was walking back and remembered that I needed to refill my stocks of groceries at home so I decided to go to the supermarket. After a while, I was already here so I took a cart and started my task. I really enjoy grocery shopping since I can see many different products that I haven¡¯t seen before. I checked some needed items and also my wants then checked out. ¡°Hmm. Should I also buy more bread?¡± I thought out loud. When I asked that, I remembered the bread that I really wanted to buy. It is like a cake but it has custard and cream inside. There is also another vor that I like from the many variants of vors avable, the cream cheese one. So I pick them up and headed to the cashier.Property ? N?velDrama.Org. ¡ª ¡°I don¡¯t know how to y tarot cards. Why?¡± In the afternoon, I called my two friends, Dn and Elena, to y tarot cards with me, but Dn couldn¡¯t. The table is filled with snacks and drinks, and a good day begins with eating, drinking and having fun with friends. ¡°All right, just try it,¡± I said to Dn, drinking the drink in my hand. ¡°Oh, this crazy old woman keeps showing up, samurai in shining armor.¡± Dn dug out a samurai card. ¡°That¡¯s mine.¡± I quickly swallowed the juice and went to get the samurai card in Dn¡¯s hand. ¡°No, no, no, what?¡± ¡°I saw this man twice today.¡± I shook my samurai card and told Elena excitedly that I met that man twice today. ¡°Which man?¡± ¡°Twice earlier, that should be a sign, right?¡± I said to Elena ¡°Yeah, a sign.¡± Elena blinked. Her eyes matched mine. She smiled then I smiled too. It was like there was a link between our minds. ¡°Yes, well, what did he say to you?¡± Dn is curious about what I want to say next. ¡°I didn¡¯t talk to him,¡± I told him, frowning and sipping juice. ¡°Oh, are you sure he saw you?¡± They smiled at each other, then there was no smile on their faces, or Dn asked curiously how I didn¡¯t speak when we met each other. ¡°Yes! I mean, I think so.¡± ¡°Well, honey, we¡¯re a little worried about you, because you¡¯ve be a little abnormal, and we think it¡¯s because you arecking in the rtionship bureau.¡± The two of them said this to me seriously, but I really met the man twice by mistake, but we didn¡¯t talk with each other. He said Hi to me and I said back but that was all. I don¡¯t know if I will regret that but it¡¯s already over so there is no use crying over spilled milk. ¡°Exactly,¡± Dn said in line with Elena¡¯s words, trying to show that I have really been out of my mind recently. ¡°Look, just because I haven¡¯t had a rtionship for a while, doesn¡¯t mean I¡¯m pathetic. I¡¯m just looking for a cute guy, you know, kind of guy, strong, but¡ going out asionally, and observing things in detail, and¡ you know, maybe just different from others.¡± I dreamed, I don¡¯t understand what my two good friends said about me, but I still hope that sweet love can happen to me. I am a hopeless romantic, you guessed it right. I want a love that is like what I read from the books. The one who could ept me as me and the one that I can spend the rest of my life with. ¡°Maybe he was made up for you.¡± Elena gestured to me. I bit my straw andughed. Maybe that man really was a man made up for my empty heart for so many years. ¡°Oh, you made up for me.¡± Dn said gently to Elena, while he ate a proper wave of dog food, and the three of usughed. ¡°Oh, I¡¯m sorry.¡± Dn was a little embarrassed and became silent. ¡°Berthaire¡¯s office, hi, Mrs. Reynolds.¡± It was another day at work, and I sat at the station and answered the phone. This is my other work. Answering phone calls for Dr. Berthaire and writing down appointments. So basically, I am kinda like her secretary or assistant. ¡°Go to my grandmother¡¯s house and tell her that I will go backter. I still have work to do¡ Okay, can you wait a minute? See you at home.¡± The aunt at the oblique rear of the station is calling home. She is old and wearing reading sses, and she is still busy. I listened to what she had to say. She will bete today, she said. ¡°You know what? You go, I can help you.¡± I let the aunt go first. I took her unfinished work and asked her to go home early. ¡°Thanks, Linda, you¡¯re so nice.¡± She was so happy that she could get off work early. She then took the clothes hanging from the chair and went out. ¡°No problem.¡± I said then let out a smile. They were all nice so why wouldn¡¯t I be nice to them too? ¡°Hi, George.¡± A middle-aged Mediterranean uncle, with puffy bags under his eyes and stooped waist, looked like he didn¡¯t have a neck in his clothes. Yes, he was George. ¡°How are you, Linda?¡± He is holding a paper bag in his hand. ¡°Very well, what have you got?¡± ¡°The doctor told me to bring this from home.¡± George said with his mouth wide open and his eyes round and pompous. He stiffly handed me a paper bag. ¡°Oh, okay, very good, the doctor will meet you soon.¡± I looked at the contents, and my heart was a little disgusted. As George walked out of the door, I quickly applied some hand sanitizer to my hands. There are more patients that came today so I got a little busy. I was busy writing on theputer in front of me that I didn¡¯t notice another one came in. I quickly apologized and asked for her appointment. Lunch came and I didn¡¯t notice the time until the doctor went out and said she was going to eat first. She invited me and since I was shy, I declined her saying I prepared for my lunch when in fact, I n to go to the nearby shop and buy my food from there because I know that doctor will eat in her usual ce. After lunch, we became busy again. I sigh and proceed on my day. I wish this day would be much faster. Chapter 3 One day when I was busy scrolling on my social media using my phone and just lying in bed, I received a call from Elena. I¡¯m contemting whether I should answer her or not since the article I am reading is so interesting, I am afraid that it will disappear if I answer her call. Thinking that it was about something serious, I pressed the answer button and ced the phone near my ear. ¡°Hey, what¡¯s up? No, I¡¯m not doing anything today. Yes. Why? You needed help? Sure.¡± I put my phone down and sigh. Since we have something to doter, I decided to take a nap first. I charged my phone theny down on my bed. ¡°Thank you.¡± Elena is my friend and dessert chef. Today, she was preparing some desserts for a party. The party was crowded. She was so busy that she called me and Dn to help. Of course, since she was our friend and we love dessert, we quickly agreed to her. ¡°Here wee.¡± I came with Dn and saw that the chopping board in front of her was full of many kinds of food, which needed to be processed again. ¡°Thank God you¡¯re here. There are two girls missing tonight. Here, I¡¯m sorry that¡¯s all we have left.¡± She said, throwing two overalls for us to change and starting her work again. There are many people in the restaurant, but she is the only one busy on Elena¡¯s side. ¡°It¡¯s so cute, you know, I¡¯m happy. It¡¯s sexy to dress like this, isn¡¯t it?¡± Dn put on his apron and held a wall post beside him in a position that he thought he was handsome. Let¡¯s judge him. I¡¯m not even kidding. ¡°It looks good on you.¡± Elena looked at his dress. ¡°Take off your apron.¡± We¡¯re here to help Elena. He¡¯s still ying a fashion show there. I¡¯m a little unhappy so I stare at him. ¡°Hey, what¡¯s the matter?¡± He understood the purpose of hising, he said ¡°I¡¯m sorry¡± and took off his apron with great understanding. One of the things I like about the two is that they can understand me when I am serious and not ying around. They also know how to shut up or slow down when I am not in the mood. We are like that to each other so I am thankful. ¡°Where do we start?¡± I fastened my apron and asked Elena where I could help. ¡°Well, take these shrimp balls out and get a nice name.¡± Elena handed each of us a te of shrimp balls. She set the te, which looked very good. ¡°I think this name is also good.¡± ¡°Is there anything wrong with the name?¡± I had not walked out of the restaurant a few meters away with food, and I saw the man in the crowd. Yes, it was him again, as handsome as ever. ¡°Oh, my God, it¡¯s him.¡± I shoved Dn back to the restaurant with food, and did not forget to look back at him. He was chatting with his friends andughing happily, but fortunately he didn¡¯t notice. ¡°Who, who is it?¡± Dn looked nkly and tried to find the person I was talking about through the dining room curtain ¡°The man I met, he¡¯s here.¡± ¡°Where?¡± ¡°What?¡± The three of us poked our heads out from behind the dining room curtain and looked at the man.Exclusive content ? by N?(v)el/Dr/ama.Org. ¡°I met him three times in two days. What probability is this? Under what circumstances will there be such an opportunity?¡± I can¡¯t suppress the joy in my heart, which makes me very excited. ¡°For example, no,¡± Dn said with a calm eyes. ¡°That¡¯s Dr. Field. This is his party. He just moved back from San Francisco,¡± Elena said methodically. She works in this restaurant. It¡¯s not surprising that she knows this, but now I know it, too. At least I know what his name is and what his upation is. ¡°Really?¡± I asked, really curious about him. ¡°That¡¯s right.¡± I looked at his side of the face while talking with others from a distance, and with Elena¡¯s affirmative tone, I remembered that I happened to meet this man in the past two days. I became interested in this man and wanted to know more about him. ¡°You¡¯re right, he¡¯s really handsome,¡± even Dn said. In fact, his tall nose, deep eyes and sexy stubble are the signs of his excellence. A lot of prominent people at the party, Three or two stand together and talk andugh, In the hall lights reflect each other, I am ready to meet the man, I re-end the te of shrimp balls towards him, his handsome face, strong posture, I slightly bowed my head, around him round and round walking back and forth secretly looked at him, and then, I chose the best position to stand there, standing and a good position to look at him. ¡°The best part came, the man¡¯s heart stopped, Donald gave him first aid and saved him again.¡± A man next to him said. He was talking about the first aid to patients in their hospital. It sounds fantastic. My heart stopped and I was revived by the man named Donald. However, from the mouth of doctors, what remains is a miracle. ¡°God, he¡¯s annoying, isn¡¯t he?¡± He said with a smile. ¡°His colleague is annoying, probably because he doesn¡¯t like being praised like this in public ces.¡± ¡°No, you¡¯re great,¡± said one of his female colleagues. ¡°Yes!¡± I also answered in the affirmative, he is really good. However, I seem to have been discovered, and I can¡¯t wait to find a hole in the ground. He and his colleagues looked at me, the burning eyes, damn it, what did I do? ¡°What are you talking about?¡± The female colleague next to him asked me curiously. Their strange eyes made me flustered, so I hurried away. ¡°Wait, what¡¯s there to eat?¡± He saw the shrimp balls in my hand, and I forgot that I was here to send them shrimp balls to eat. ¡°Ball, ball, shrimp ball.¡± He looked surprised. I thought it might be because my words made him misunderstand something. ¡°Shrimp in ¡ ball¡± I do shrimp wrapped in pasta inside the action to exin to him. ¡°I¡¯m sorry, but we¡¯re not very interested in fish genitals.¡± The female colleague said to me with her hands folded and her eyes defiant, apparently because I eavesdropped on their conversation, and she was very unhappy. ¡°All right.¡± I was embarrassed and lost. It was a shameful act. I wanted to p my face multiple times but if I do that now, they will really think that I am out of my mind. So I will do thatter. Kidding. I really want for the ground to just swallow me whole from my embarrassment. I can already feel my face getting red as a tomato. Oh ground, please swallow me now. Donald¡¯s POV I¡¯m Donald, a doctor, and I have the habit of exercising regrly, such as running on the beach. I can still remember when I went on a run a few days ago. I woke up early because I used to run early in the morning. When I was done washing my face in the bathroom, I changed into appropriate running wear and prepared my bag. Today, I nned to run on the beach side for a change of scenery. When I was already downstairs, a servant saw me and offered me breakfast but I declined her politely and went on my way. I went to the parking lot and looked at the cars parked. Today, I chose the jeep to travel. I smiled, then got the keys and opened the door. I smirked when I heaved the engine. I liked the sound it made. So after I warmed the engine up a little, I decided to proceed with my n. I was running along the beach side and since I felt sweaty, I removed my shirt then I held it first because I was already away from my bag. I nned to at least run some time then go back to my jeep and drive to my house. Anyway, I was busy running with my earpods in when I noticed a girl busy walking a dog but it looked like the dogs were walking her. She was having trouble controlling them. I could just smile at that scene then look in front of me since I was running, so that I won¡¯t look like an idiot if I fall or bumped into someone. When I looked at her direction again, I was caught off guard when I saw her looking at me too. She was pretty and I could see her eyes were beautiful as well. So I smiled at her and I saw her smile back. Anyway, I recently moved back from San Francisco, so I invited my friends to organize a party. Caroline and Enoch are two of my colleagues. Chapter 4 I watched the girl leave in a panic. I somehow remember her. Was she the girl on the beach with dogs that look like she can¡¯t tame them and being pulled by them? I thought. Maybe it was her. She intrigues me. Should I follow her and talk to her or should I just stay here and maybe regret this chance all my life? While I was thinking, I heard the woman beside me said, ¡°Was she eavesdropping on our conversation?¡± Caroline seems to mind being eavesdropped on our conversation by that girl. ¡°Excuse me.¡± Somehow, I said hello to several colleagues to leave, but trotted to find the girl who had just delivered the meal. Oops, I guess my feet have a brain of its own. I saw my colleagues look at me when they saw me standing up but I paid no mind to them. I hurriedly left my seat and went to the direction the girl took earlier. When I was near her, I reached for her shoulder and spoke. ¡°Wait,¡± I tapped her on the shoulder and stopped her. She turned and looked at me. ¡°I know two things about you, you provide food service, and you have a lot of dogs.¡± She looked at me, surprised that I knew so much, and had to admit that for some reason, I investigated her in advance. I believe she was also the girl who bumped into me at a cafe the other day. I smiled at her. ¡°Well, no, I¡¯m a dog walker. I¡¯m not the crazy woman who owns 12, 000 dogs,¡± she quipped, exining that she¡¯s not like some other dog-owners. ¡°That¡¯s why,¡± I said with a smile. I really want to know her more and talk to her. If I can, I really want to take her out of here and talk with her in private. Okay that was a little creepy, but I couldn¡¯t help it. ¡°I¡¯m sorry about that. I didn¡¯t mean to eavesdrop,¡± she exined shyly. ¡°You¡¯re right, you shouldn¡¯t have done that, you should have talked to me there.¡± I really want to know this girl. I don¡¯t care if she eavesdropped on my conversation with my colleagues, so I want to talk to her directly. I want to talk with her and get to know her better. ¡°Your girlfriend seems very upset.¡± She looked awkwardly at Carolyn. It was Carolyn¡¯s words that made her think Carolyn was my girlfriend. But she was not. She was just my friend and I could never imagine myself liking her as a girlfriend. She is beautiful, yes, but she has been my friend ever since so I never would¡¯ve thought that. ¡°No, that, she¡¯s not my girlfriend, I, I don¡¯t, I¡¯m single, I don¡¯t have a girlfriend.¡± My exnation made her a little unbelievable. How can I exin to her that we are nothing more than friends? She would believe me, right?N?velDrama.Org content. ¡°What¡¯s the matter?¡± She looked at me and became speechless. What happened? ¡°Nothing.¡± She came to her senses and shook her head. ¡°Nothing. I¡¯m Linda Charlotte, but they call me Linda.¡± ¡°I¡¯m Donald. Nice to meet you.¡± I said, extending my hands to shake hers. ¡°Me too.¡± So we introduced ourselves to each other for the first time. Linda¡¯s POV It is the first time that I can stare at him this close. I look at his eyes, to his nose, down to his lips then his chin. I gulped at the sight. What a treat. I thought. ¡°Uhm, I¡¯m sorry I need to go back. I need to do my job or else my friend will nag at me.¡± I exined. Even though I don¡¯t want to leave yet and want to talk to him, I have no choice. After all, I am a waitress for this event. ¡°Ah yes, okay. That¡¯s fine. I¡¯m sorry to bother you as well.¡± He said as he looked guilty but he should not be. We said our goodbyes first then I went back to the kitchen. I want to look back, so I did. Then I saw him, going back to their table. I turned around and smiled to myself. I casually came to see Donald at their table, trying to find a chance to talk to him again. ¡°My shoes are terrible, but that means they must be beautiful.¡± I leaned halfway in search of Donald when Caroline came over and sat on the sofa in front of me with a ss of wine. ¡°Can I get you anything?¡± Watching her sit there, I stood up and asked her what she needed. ¡°It¡¯s a waste to have a te of that man.¡± She said, pointing to Donald. I am confused. ¡°What is wasted?¡± I don¡¯t understand what she is talking about. ¡°Don¡¯t you know? Donald is gay.¡± She deadpanned. ¡°What?¡± This makes me wonder what crazy things this woman said. I could not believe her. Or should I? ¡°Yes, that¡¯s Enoch, the groom, maybe the bride. I can¡¯t remember which one is attacking and which one is suffering. They will get married in Maui next Christmas.¡± I looked at Donald and Enoch, who were sitting together andmunicating, and took Caroline¡¯s words with a grain of salt. ¡°Why can¡¯t I see it?¡± How can that good man like men? ¡°Believe me.¡± Caroline said with a firm look, which made me feel that what she said might be true. ¡°Thank you.¡± She handed me a sip of the ss and left. After hearing what Caroline said just now, to be honest, I really didn¡¯t believe it, and even wanted to find a chance to prove it, but when I saw Donald¡¯s bracelet on Enoch¡¯s shoulder, they were so close that I had to believe it. ¡°Look at that guy¡¯s arm.¡± I listened to their cheerful pstick. They seem to have a good rtionship. ¡°My gay radar is generally very easy to use.¡± I think my gay radar is very urate. Is he really gay? Why can¡¯t I even see it? I took a doubtful sip and Caroline handed me the rest of the wine to try to calm down. I went back to the kitchen and could not still believe what she told me and what I saw. Was he really gay? I asked myself. As far as I know, he was so dreamy and manlike that it was impossible that he would be one. On the other hand, I only saw him a few times and exchanged a few words with him so I could say that I really did not know him. But my instinct is telling me that what she said is a bluff and my opinion is right. Although, what proof do I have? I am getting tired because of thinking too much. Maybe I should take a break first. So I went to Dn and stole the dessert in his hand that he was about to eat. ¡°Hey! That¡¯s mine.¡± He said, but became quiet after since the food was already inside my mouth. Sighing, Iy down in bed with a heavy feeling. I am thinking about what happened earlier. Is he really gay? Well, there¡¯s a lot of people nowadays that you will not notice that they are different. But if he is, I don¡¯t even want to continue thinking about it anymore. It is making me more exhausted. So I straightened myself, got out of the bed and went to the bathroom. I need to do my routine first before going to sleep. I started washing my face with soap, yes, I am just using soap then rinse it with water. After I am done, I then get my toothbrush and brush my teeth. I looked at the clock and found that it was alreadyte so I turned on my rm and went to bed. ¡ª On the edge of the bridge, I walked my dog as always. The sun was always dazzling. I went down to the beach and watched people feel free. I thought about life and I want the same peace that they have too. I wonder, what would it feel like if I am contented in life? I mean, I am contented with what I have now. What I meant was that, what would it feel to not worry about anything anymore? Can someone imagine that feeling? The feeling wherein you won¡¯t have to worry about work, or money or people around you, something like that. Anyway, I was busy walking and then a wave beat over me. I screamed with the dogs, and my body was sshed with water stains. What a day. So with a disappointed smile, I went back to the shop earlier with the dogs. The auntie in the shop was shocked to see us a little wet so she hurried us in and got a towel for me and them. ¡°It¡¯s fine Auntie, my house is just over there so I will just go home immediately.¡± I said and gave her a polite smile. Chapter 5 I sat on the bed, took off my shoes and socks, and rubbed my sore feet. ¡°You¡¯re back, great, I¡¯m exhausted.¡± Dn came in from outside the door andy in bed wearily ¡°What did you do today?¡± I asked. He was not able to answer me when the phone rang. ¡°Hi, this is Linda. Please leave a message.¡± The message said. ¡°I went to the post office.¡± Dn said weakly. ¡°Hi, Linda, it¡¯s Donald Field.¡± The voice on the other line said. ¡°It¡¯s him,¡± I whispered to Dn, pointing to the phone and waving my hands wildly. ¡°I don¡¯t know if you remember me, but we met at a party that night.¡± Dn got up and listened to Donald¡¯s message with me. Donald¡¯s POV ¡°I called to know, maybe you¡¯d like to walk my dog.¡± I was at a loss. I was saying some strange things. Okay, I was nervous. I didn¡¯t know what to say. I just want to be with her and get to know her more. ¡°What? Don¡¯t say that. Hang up.¡± Enoch listened to my nonsense, and his forehead whispered a hint to let me hang up. He is using signnguage that I can¡¯t understand. He is waving his hands back and forth and he is acting like he is killing someone. ¡°No, actually, no, because I don¡¯t have a dog, so maybe you can walk me.¡± What did I just say? I was so nervous that I didn¡¯t even know how to say what I wanted to say properly. ¡°Hang up.¡± Enoch threw away his book and looked at me helplessly. Since I am so nervous and do not know what to say, I said some information about me and ended it after. ¡°Well, I have to hang up. Remember to call me at 555-0118, and just say you are calling Dr. Field. Thank you. Goodbye.¡± I left her my contact information and hung up in a hurry. ¡°God, this is too bad.¡± Oh, how did this happen? What did I say? It was a shame to throw it home. Wordless face. I cannot even believe myself. Am I this rusty when talking to girls? I don¡¯t know anymore. ¡°Well, I don¡¯t think there¡¯s any need to wait for a reply.¡± Enoch soothed me, consoling me about what happened. Well, I know I can do better but my nerves got the better of me that it is basically blocking my mental capacity to talk normally and not to blubber nonsense. ¡°Yeah, if she wants to walk a fool, she will call back.¡± I don¡¯t know if she will call back. After all, I don¡¯t know what a mess of words it was just that phone call. I sigh as a sign of defeat. I could have done better. ¡°Yes, I agree with you.¡± Enoch didn¡¯t even cooperate with me. Linda¡¯s POV Donald¡¯s message made me feel very strange, but nothing. This day has been tiring enough, but I also care about what other people do. I won¡¯t pay attention to him. After listening to the message, I leaned back andy in bed. ¡°Do you want to order takeout or sweep your refrigerator?¡± Dn wondered how to get something to eat in my ce. I closed my eyes and didn¡¯t want to answer his words. Today was exhausting and I felt like my energy got less and less. ¡°Hey, I am talking to you. If you won¡¯t respond, I will really raid your refrigerator.¡± He threatened me but I really didn¡¯t want to talk. So I just let him do whatever he wanted to do. ¡ª ¡°Let¡¯s go, Lily, slow down.¡± Today, I pulled a Dalmatian dog, a chubby dog, and two other dogs that I don¡¯t know the breed of. They walked in front, and I was dragged away. I felt that these four dogs were walking me, not me walking them. ¡°Hey guys, wait for me. I felt like I am the dog here.¡± I said as if they could understand me. They are so excited that I am already doing my best not to be pulled by them anywhere. I was busy ying pull with them when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I don¡¯t want to get it but it was a series of texts so I got curious. So I sat down on the nearby bench first and looked at it. When I opened my phone, I instantly regretted opening them. ¡°Hey.¡± ¡°What you doin¡¯?¡± ¡°I¡¯m bored.¡± ¡°Come on.¡±N?velDrama.Org content. ¡°Text back.¡± Those all came from Dn. There are many more but it is a bunch of nonsense so I closed my phone again without responding to him. If he is bored then he should go out and not pester me. ¡ª After walking a bunch of dogs, I was ready to go home, and small waves rushed over. ¡°Hello, you didn¡¯t call me back, so I had to bring you coffee.¡± Donald came over with two cups of coffee. Today, he dressed casually, but it didn¡¯t hide his strong figure at all. It¡¯s strange that he shouldn¡¯t be with his so-called bride or groom now, why does hee to me when he is free? Does he want to taste women? This man is really unpredictable. I could not figure him out. ¡°Thank you, I think you are really a nice person, but I don¡¯t know why you called me. I am a woman.¡± I told him seriously that I am a woman and tried to persuade him not to mess around me. I didn¡¯t pick up the coffee he gave me. In fact, I was holding the dog chain in both hands so that I couldn¡¯t hold it. ¡°Yeah, I like the fact.¡± He looked at me seriously, too, and picked up his coffee and drank it. ¡°Have you ever been with a woman?¡± I wanted to verify what Caroline told me about Donald. He probably wouldn¡¯t have expected me to ask. He almost spit out a mouthful of coffee and choked. ¡°What?¡± He wiped the coffee from his mouth and coughed. I thought he didn¡¯t know the fact that I knew he was gay, so I was shocked when I said it. He is looking at me like I am the most difficult puzzle he encountered. He really did not understand what I meant? ¡°I mean, have you only dated men?¡± It¡¯s annoying that this man should be a man who dares to do it but dare not recognize it. ¡°Man? What are you talking about? Wait, I¡¯m not gay.¡± Following my question, he understood what I was trying to say and exined to me again. ¡°You¡¯re not?¡± What? But his friend told me very seriously. ¡°No, no, I like women, a lot, no, not a lot of women, you know what I mean, how can you think I¡¯m gay?¡± His affirmative look made me understand that there was something wrong with what Caroline said. What exactly did this Caroline woman want to do, first embarrass me at the party, and then make me misunderstand Donald? What is she trying to do? ¡°This is awkward, well, I have to go.¡± I shook my head, exhaled, and walked away from him. I am so embarrassed. Since he is not gay, it is the best result. Linda¡¯s POV ¡°Wait, wait, well, I¡¯ll prove to you that I¡¯m not gay, let me take you out on Friday night, we will go to a game, I¡¯ll order a pizza, and then treat you like a girlfriendpletely.¡± His words made me very iprehensible, or something was wrong with him. ¡°Give me a good reason.¡± He wants to take me to the game. Why should I go with him unless he convinces me? Whether ¡°Because I¡¯m Different¡± is really different, or his blind confidence, I can test him, because he makes me not believe it. ¡°Really? Well, what colour are my eyes?¡± Before I finished speaking, I immediately carried him behind my back. Since he is so confident that he is different, now is the time for him to prove himself. I want to see what he wants. ¡°Your eyes are brown when I first see them, but when the light shines on them, they turn amber.¡± Speaking of which, I hesitated. What he said seems to be a little simr, ¡°And if you really look at the iris of your eyes very closely, it is like pure honey color, but when you look at the sun, they look almost green, which is my favorite color.¡± Listening to his confession statement, it is so clear that my face starts to feel hot. Perhaps it is because he is a doctor that he will say so clearly. I pulled the broken hair beside my ears, and there was no wave in my heart. I don¡¯t know why. I turned my head to face him. ¡°How is it?¡± His confident eyes seem to be asking for my answer. ¡°I am satisfied even if you only said brown.¡± He can say so much, and he must have seen me often and found me, I think so. Chapter 6 ¡°Peanut, let him go.¡± A dog barked. I looked down and panicked. Well, it grabbed Donald¡¯s leg and didn¡¯t let go. ¡°Let go, let go,¡± Donald yelled as he tossed his leg, trying to toss the dog away. If I hadn¡¯t pulled it away, he would have suffered, even though he had been bitten a little. I read from an article that if you¡¯ve been bitten by a dog, it¡¯s important to tend to the injury right away to reduce your risk of bacterial infection. You also should assess the wound to determine the severity. In some instances, you¡¯ll be able to administer first aid to yourself. In other cases, you¡¯ll need immediate medical treatment. Whether the dog is yours or someone else¡¯s, you may feel shaken after being bitten. If you need medical attention, call for help rather than driving yourself to the doctor or hospital. In addition, the first thing you should do following a dog bite is to put distance between yourself and the dog. That can eliminate the chances that you may be bitten again. But of course, the dog was not mine but I knew them so it¡¯s fine. I will make sure that he will not get bitten again. Once there¡¯s no longer an immediate threat, it¡¯s important to determine if the dog has been inocted against rabies. Of course the dogs that I walk with were already vinated. If the dog¡¯s owner is nearby, ask for the dog¡¯s vination history, making sure to get the owner¡¯s name, telephone number, and veterinarian¡¯s contact information. If possible, also ask to see some sort of ID. That¡¯s already done, I¡¯m sure the dog that bit him is getting enough nutrients and vines. Of course, it¡¯s also possible to be bitten by your own dog. For this reason, make sure to keep up with your dog¡¯s rabies inoctions. Even a friendly, gentle animal may sometimes bite. In the case earlier, I think the dog was just mad or because he didn¡¯t know him that¡¯s why he bit him. But I am sure it is nothing serious. ¡°I¡¯m sorry he bit you. I mean, they¡¯ve all had injections. It should be okay.¡± It was so unfortunate that it hurt him, so now I took him and some dogs to my room to treat his wound. ¡°Seriously, don¡¯t worry, it¡¯s just a little skin.¡± He said it didn¡¯t matter, but the dog I pulled bit people. I can¡¯t ignore it. In that case, I am too cold-blooded and ruthless. I am trying to remember the article before about the first aid of a dog bite. The type of first aid you administer will be determined by the severity of the bite.C0ntent ? 2024 (N/?)velDrama.Org. If the skin wasn¡¯t broken, wash the area with warm water and soap. I can also apply an antibacterial lotion to the area as a precaution. If the skin was broken, wash the area with warm soap and water and gently press on the wound to promote a small amount of bleeding. This will help flush out germs. If the bite is already bleeding, apply a clean cloth to the wound and gently press down to stop the flow. Follow up with an application of antibacterial lotion and cover with a sterile bandage. All dog bite wounds, even minor ones, should be monitored for signs of infection until they¡¯repletely healed. I said in my mind. I was so busy treating him that I did not notice him staring at me. When I looked up, I saw him looking at me then looking at the surroundings, which is already my room. When I am almost done, I notice that the one thing I need is not beside me. So I stood up and looked for it. When I took a peek at what he was doing inside my room, I said, ¡°Get out.¡± Since I saw him go inside checking my things. It should not be the behavior of a man especially if they are in other people¡¯s rooms. Much more, I am a girl, so I don¡¯t need him rummaging through my stuff. ¡°Have you just moved in?¡± He looked at the brand-new tables and chairs next to me and asked me that as a girl, she would always take care of these furniture. ¡°No, I¡¯ve been moving in for a year and a half.¡± I took my bag off my shoulder and threw it on the table ¡°Nice ce.¡± I chose my own room. Of course, it¡¯s nice. I only say this because it¡¯s nice to have a ce to stand. ¡°I should have hydrogen peroxide here.¡± As an independent girl, I will prepare some petty belongings in case of emergency, so I can find hydrogen peroxide to treat his wound. ¡°What is this?¡± He picked up something on my desk. ¡°I am a yoga teacher.¡± I answered. ¡°What do you do as a yoga teacher by the way?¡± He asked casually as if he is interested in being a yoga teacher. ¡°Well, a yoga teacher is a fitness and wellness professional who leads group sses in yoga. They teach students how to perform the various stretching poses, practice meditation and promote mindfulness in addition to overall wellbeing. These professionals are also often referred to as ¡°yoga instructors¡± and ¡°yogis.¡±¡± I said, quoting the lines. ¡°The specific responsibilities often includes, instructing small orrge groups of new, intermediate or experienced yoga practitioners Demonstrating stretching poses, including alternative, advanced and adjusted positions to provide more essibility to students of different levels. Advising students on ways to improve or refine their practice, including at-home routines, positions for certain benefits and techniques to make positions easier, safer or more challenging Helping individual students perfect their form, including offering manual adjustments during lessons. Leading groups through quiet meditation by talking through the process of letting thoughts go and rxing each part of the body and sharing the basic spiritual and intellectual principles of yoga.¡± I exined patiently, watching his reaction. He was just staring at me with mouth hanging so I cleared my throat to get his attention. Actually it is not hard being a yoga teacher. You just need to get an education. Education requirements for yoga teachers are focused on their understanding of and practice in yoga, meditation and its spiritual principles. To prove their educational qualifications, they are often required or preferred to hold a certification in yoga instruction. Yoga instructorse from a variety of educational backgrounds. Some teachers may have some secondary education, a high school diploma or any level of post-secondary education. Though traditional education is not often required, some employers may prefer candidates to have a high school diploma or even a bachelor¡¯s degree. Some relevant degrees these professionals may pursue include education, sports medicine, sports management, physical therapy or other health science. All of these degrees would be transferable for yoga teachers also interested in serving as fitness instructors, personal trainers, athletic trainers or teachers. Depending on employers, advanced education may result in increased earning potential. After that, there is training. These professionals gain much of their training in yoga through years of individual practice, taking sses, learning new and advanced poses, and getting advice from practicing yoga teachers. Some of these fitness professionals attend yoga retreats or enroll in a series of sses, and do so over many years, before pursuing a training program and bing a teacher. Aspiring yoga instructors can gain experience before certification by observing the practice of their teachers and even helping fellow students on their own. Before selecting a training program, aspiring yogis must choose which type of practice they want to specialize in, such as ashtanga, restorative, hatha, bikram and hot yoga. Each practice has its own methods, principles, posebinations, transitions and intended level of practice. Some programs offer training in a variety of practice types, though some may specialize in one or two. Yoga teachers typicallyplete an instructor training program that has been certified through the internationally recognized Yoga Alliance¡¯s Registered Yoga School. Training programs may vary in setting, length, requirements and cost, but RYS-certified programs follow the training-hour designations selected by the Yoga Alliance to ensure students whoplete training can be properly certified. ¡°What about this?¡± He asked, changing the topic. ¡°Coach of a small club, walk the dog, host a party, I told you I was a temporary employee.¡± After years of unsessful love search, I found another way to live, that is, to work multiple part-time jobs and earn enough money. Well, that¡¯s it. I opened the door of another room as I walked. ¡°That¡¯s not true. She¡¯s a very talented artist.¡± Dn rebutted what I said, and came out of my open room with a book. I don¡¯t understand. Does he know me very well? I think so. After all, we are friends. ¡°Dn, Dn,¡± I whispered to him, signaling him to stop talking. Chapter 7 ¡°Look at her sketchbook, she¡¯s hiding it down there.¡± Dn also wants to show Donald my sketch book. He really wants me to beat him up. Oh, I¡¯m going crazy. Why did he do this? How could I have such a friend? ¡°Dn!¡± ¡°What? He¡¯s not?¡± Dn muttered to me at the other door, roughly asking me if he was the man I was talking about. I shook my head in the doorway and whispered no ¡°Is everything all right?¡± Donald looked at Dn in disbelief, thinking that Dn was crazy ¡°Yes, thank you.¡± Dn was probably a little embarrassed that his behavior was discovered, gave me a thumbs up and left ¡°I found it.¡± I found the medical kit in my room and took out a bottle of hydrogen peroxide from it and showed it to him ¡°You are also an artist.¡± Donald finally got the sketch book Dn told him, looked at the works inside, and praised me with my sketch. ¡°I like to try many different things. Life is short and I can¡¯t always live the same life, can I?¡± I took my sketchbook and put it on the table ¡°Yes, this is a good philosophy of life.¡± ¡°My dad used to say that,e on,¡± I held up hydrogen peroxide to ask him toe with me and treat his wounds. ¡°In the past?¡± He sat in his chair and asked me why I said it was the past. ¡°Yes, my parents died when I was very young,¡± I told him calmly while adjusting hydrogen peroxide ¡°I¡¯m sorry.¡± ¡°It was nothing, that was a long time ago.¡± I said. ¡°Ready?¡± I prepared the mixed hydrogen peroxide to smear on his wound, and my parents¡¯ death has already passed, so now I don¡¯t think it¡¯s anything. ¡°Yes, I feel a little embarrassed. I am a doctor, and I should be one.¡± Doctors are sometimes embarrassed. He often deals with other people¡¯s illnesses or something. Now I am a girl who is not a doctor or a nurse to deal with his wound, but I am embarrassed. It may hurt himter, and I am not mistaken since he shouted and it scared me. Linda¡¯s POV ¡°Oh, my God, I¡¯m sorry.¡± I gasped. I didn¡¯t push too hard. Why did I hurt him?C0ntent ? 2024 (N/?)velDrama.Org. ¡°I was just kidding. I¡¯ve always wanted to scare people like this.¡± He said with a smile. I breathed a sigh of relief. It really scared me. Hey, this man is really, really something. If he scares me again, I wonder if I really want to send him to the hospital or not. ¡°Yeah, because it¡¯s still three inches away.¡± I looked at the cut on his leg and the position of my hydrogen peroxide droplets. I was cheated, and I thought there would be no mistake in dealing with such a little wound. ¡°I¡¯m sorry.¡± Ding Ding¡ The phone rang in his trouser pocket, and he took it out to see who was calling. ¡°Do you need a phone?¡± I thought he would answer the phone, so I thought of avoiding it. ¡°No, thank you. It¡¯s my mom. It¡¯s only her second page today. She¡¯s just started.¡± He said in distress, but he didn¡¯t answer the phone. Then he put it away. It seems that it won¡¯t be long before the next call wille in again. ¡°Okay, if you say so.¡± I quickly treated the wound for him and cleaned up the used residue, which is still very simple to treat. I am confident that I can get it right. After all, I managed to survive for this long. ¡°Thank you, so, do you think we can meet again sometime, but don¡¯t be bitten by a dog?¡± He asked to meet me again. I was a little surprised. Is it a date? I secretly enjoyed myself. ¡°Sure thing.¡± I dly agreed Ding Ding¡ His phone rang over and over again and I noticed that it urged him. He is already an adult, how his mother still calls him so many times, I wonder. But also on the same day, he very helplessly shook his head, again took out his cell phone. ¡ª It¡¯s a new day today and I am going through my checklist to move into a new house. Number one, Check. Hand in your notice. If you¡¯re renting, you need to remember to hand in your notice of intent to leave to yourndlord or estate agent. Check how long this period is, sometimes it¡¯s one month, sometimes it might be two. If you have been living in your current home for less than a year, you may be in a contract with a break use. Make sure of your preferred moving date before you give notice. Number two, declutter and Book a Removals Company. Use this as an opportunity to declutter your possessions. When you book your removalpany, you will need to give an estimate of how many items you¡¯ll be moving. If you¡¯re not sure where to begin with choosing a removalpany you may want to check out British Association of Removers. Donate things you don¡¯t need, you can also begin packing those non-essential items, or putting somerger possessions into storage temporarily if necessary. Make sure you have enough boxes and packaging supplies. I don¡¯t have many books so I don¡¯t need this. I also have only little things so it¡¯s fine. I am going to skip this. Number three, think About the Kids and Pets. If you¡¯re moving small or furry family members, you may need to confirm new school cements, or at least inform the old school of the address change. As for your pets, if you need to book kennels or a cattery for your moving dates, do this well in advance. Think about how they will be moved and arrange for the care of pets and children on your moving day. Iugh at this. We don¡¯t have a child yet so I crossed it out. Number four, update Your Details. There are many ces where you will need to update your details. Think about who to notify. If you¡¯re moving to a new area, you will need to register with a new doctor and dentist. If not, include your current care providers in the list of ces you need to change your address. This one is done. Next. Number five, check your car and route. If you are going to be driving some distance on moving day, have your car serviced and car tyres checked. Confirm your route and make sure there are ces to stop off if needed, for fuel and breaks. Done. Number six, pack up and shut down. You will want to start packing more seriously about two weeks in advance. As the big day gets closer, you will want to make sure you¡¯re nearly all packed up. Doing this far in advance means you will be calm enough to mark up your boxes in a way that makes sense. Begin thinking about clearing out your kitchen cabs and defrosting and drying out your fridge/freezer. Remember your loft and garage. Yeah, I¡¯m almost done with this one. Number seven, tell your friends. You will want to inform your friends and family of your new address, and also ask them for help and support if you need. Make sure you have also notified your current neighbours, and check in with them to be certain there is room for your moving van to avoid any difficulties on the day. I will do itter. Number eight, officially confirmed. Be sure to confirm with your solicitor or estate agent that the move can go ahead as nned. You will want to be aware of any dys well in advance. Check this a week before you are set to move. Done. Number nine, keep your valuables close. Keep valuables, important documents and paperwork in a safe ce away from the chaos of packing. Include any documents you need for moving. You can keep this with you in the car on moving day. Know where you¡¯ve put all your important documents, such as tax paperwork, birth certificates, passport, and driving licence. I am done with this one. Number ten, the day before you move you can feel a little high pressure. Make certain that your mobile phone is charged and that your essential items are in a clearly marked box. Confirm with your removal firm and double check your route. And, done. Yes. I am almost done preparing for my moving day. Yes, you heard it right. I am moving. I didn¡¯t know how it happened but it just did. One day, when Donald and I were together, he asked me if my living space was enough for me. I said yes but he insisted on me living in his spare house. Chapter 8 ¡°This is thest thing. Where do you want me to put this?¡± Donald helped me move to a new house, into his spare house, I left my own apartment, my things were packed in boxes, and he helped me move here. ¡°Put it under the bed.¡± I¡¯m still bowing my head and packing up a pile of things. It¡¯s really troublesome to move. A pile of things have to be moved here. ¡°Are you sure you don¡¯t need to put it at the door? So that when we have an argument, you can run away quickly and return to the apartment you still have.¡± I don¡¯t think it is necessary to run away when there is an argument. If I can, I prefer that two people can open their hearts and solve problems, instead of just running away. Escape will only make two people farther and farther away. I don¡¯t want this. If ever we will quarrel in the future, I want us to talk about it face to face and solve it immediately. ¡°Well, you promised me to sublet my house.¡± My house is going to be sublet. Even if I run away, where can I go? He doesn¡¯t want me to sleep on the street alone. ¡°I will agree to anything in order to let you move in.¡± He looked at me affectionately. Is this together? It¡¯s so good to me after so long contact. It¡¯s a bit illusory and real, so it¡¯s ok to stay there for a while. ¡°Oh, that¡¯s nice. Is it new?¡± ¡°Oh, no! You can¡¯t look at them, because they¡¯re not finished yet.¡± I looked up at the sketch book in his hand. Why is it on his side again? Ah, I can¡¯t let him see it. It¡¯s not finished yet. I trotted over, took it from his hand and embraced it in my arms. ¡°Okay? Please?¡± I looked at him with my head tilted. ¡°Oh, I¡¯m sorry, okay.¡± ¡°Give it to me, I¡¯ll put it back. I forgot to tell you that we will have dinner with my mother tomorrow.¡± He opened the box where I put my sketch book and put it in. It was not bad. It was a secret not to peek at me, and he didn¡¯t insist on reading it. ¡°Oh.¡± He didn¡¯t tell me in advance to have dinner with his mother tomorrow, but I was still a little embarrassed. Now I know it¡¯s nothing, so I will behave well tomorrow. When we meet, there should be no problem. Iforted myself silently. ¡°It¡¯s all right, I promise.¡± he told me with certainty. I smiled and pecked him on the lip. He enjoyed it. ¡°Do you want to take a bath?¡± Moving is also very tiring, and there is a little sweat on my body, so I go and take a bath first. ¡°Oh, well!¡± I jumped out excitedly. ¡ª Today is the day that I am going to meet his mother. I am so nervous that I even thought of what to say to her. Well, I know a good way for her to like me. I will tter her. Whoever said ttery will get someone nowhere clearly did not know what they were talking about. Who doesn¡¯t like apliment every now and then? They make us feel all warm and fuzzy. If someone thinks her new haircut looks great, I should tell her. Apart from being pleased that one likes her sense of style, she¡¯s going to appreciate the fact that I am paying attention to every details of her. Aside from that because I did not bring a gift, the greatest thing that I can praise her for is something I know she takes pride in. Hmm, I think his mother likes business. But I don¡¯t know yet so I will ask Donald about his motherter. But now, I want to ask about his dad. ¡°Okay, tell me about your dad.¡± We drove slowly down the tree-lined path. With the green trees on both sides of the road, the weather is getting brighter and brighter. Since it is proposed to have dinner with his mother, his father will be present, so as to bettermunicate with them when meeting. His father is also an excellent person, so that he can have such an excellent person. ¡°He died when I was two years old, but it was only her first husband. She was a frence journalist at that time. Then she married the general manager of a broadcastingpany and got her first live broadcast career, but because Alec Rigley got divorced.¡± He told about his mother¡¯s marriage history. His face was dull, but it seemed to be telling a story that had nothing to do with him. I yed with my hair and listened to it very seriously. ¡°Wait, is that the actor? I thought he was.¡± ¡°Oh, yeah, they dated for two years, until she met her second husband.¡± Heughs helplessly ¡°Wait, how many times has she been married?¡± I grinned in surprise. Is his mother ying marriage as a game? ¡°Four times.¡± ¡°Oh,¡± I have to say, after getting married four times, the emotional history was so bumpy, how did she endure it? ¡°But, you know, her career has always been her biggest concern. She lives for it. Oh, of course, it should be my career and me. Basically, now I am all she has.¡± In order to do business, I didn¡¯t forget my excellent son. This mother is also excellent. We just chatted and unconsciously arrived at their home. Linda¡¯s Point Of View It was Tuesday, the day on which I had made an appointment to dine with Donald¡¯s mother, Diana. I promised to dine with her today. She gave me the ce where I should meet her and I sought toe at the address she had given me, and in a splendid dining-room, which was almost full, I saw Diana waving to me in the crowd, and there were two women I did not know on either side of her, but I ignored it and waved to her too, as I was walking to the table where she was. I was thinking who the two females are and what would be their contribution to our meeting. As I stepped forward to sit at her side. I Still can¡¯t help thinking about the two otherdies I did not know but I sat still.N?velDrama.Org content. After I sat down, the waiter stepped forward to take our order. The first one to order was Diana as she was already ready to tell the waiter her order. ¡°Hi, I¡¯m going to have a garden sd, low-calorie Chinese dressing and a decaffeinated iced tea. Please put less ice on my drinks and separate the dressing of the sd.¡± I looked at the menu, scanning for something I like and heard that she had finished what she wanted to eat. ¡°And you, Miss?¡± The waiter turned to me and continued to say, ¡°What can I get you today?¡± Then the waiter standing by asked me what I needed to eat. ¡°I just want a sd, hamburger, French fries and soda.¡± I looked at Diana to see that she didn¡¯t want to talk to me, so, quickly ordered something I wanted to eat. ¡°All right.¡± He said. He then continues to write in his handy dandy notebook. After a few minutes he look at us again and said, ¡°Ladies, you ordered garden sd but the dressing was separated from the vegetable, Ice tea with less ice, a hamburger, French fries and soda. Would that be all?¡± Chapter 9 ¡°Yes. that would be all. Thank you.¡± we all said in unison. ¡°Alright ma¡¯am. Thank you and please wait for your order patiently.¡± The waiter then left with the menu. After the waiter left Diane looked at me again and said, ¡°You continue to surprise me. Aren¡¯t you worried about not being able to wear a wedding dress? You ordered a meal full of calories. It will make you fat on your wedding day. You should be at your best on such an important day and by eating that I doubt.¡± She can say that because I ordered some high-calorie food. ¡°Oh, I will make a dress that will suit my own body, and not any other way. And I am surely going to be at my best on my wedding day. Do not worry about that.¡± Now the wedding dress can also be customized. Nowadays it is really easy for you to have a gown customized so, you don¡¯t have to worry if it will fit or not. It can be solved. ¡°Oh, I wish I were as confident as you were when I got married to my husband. Do you know what I did to have my perfect body on my wedding day? I went on a diet for two months. two freaking months to have my desired body before the wedding!¡± She said it as if she wanted to tell me to do it also. She then looked at me again and continued to speak. ¡°I have to tell you one thing. You will have a grand wedding as I have never had before. Most importantly, we need to book a church at once. The church should be big and perfect for your union. We also need to n your bachelorette party and even the giveaways for your wedding. Also did you already start to list down the people you want to be in your wedding? She asked me. I was about to answer when she cuts me off, saying, ¡°I always think Donald looks like Jesus, in the cathedral on Second Street. Go have a look when you visit the cathedral. You¡¯ll surely see their resemnce.¡± Hearing everything, she said. I thought, is she that confident about our wedding? Did she really want to do the nning on her own? Some of our food arrived after she finished talking, I let the waiter put the food in front of us first. The waiter left after putting everything in. We said our thank you and continued to converse. ¡°Actually, we want a wedding that has nothing to do with religion, because I prefer spirit to faith. We want it to be solemn and special.¡± I wanted to make it clear to her that I wanted our wedding to be organized by the two of us together. I wanted it to be perfect for the both of us. And of course, to be able to enjoy our union we need to n it ording to our liking. It is going to be more special if we nned it ourselves. ¡°Oh, how about doing it at my house? That way we don¡¯t even have to book a ce for your wedding, it is also for you to save some money. And besides, Donald was born and raised there, it means so much to him if you would do it there, don¡¯t worry about anything I¡¯ll do all the nning from the start to finish, your task will be walking in the aisle and saying I do to my son. We¡¯re going to also have that extraordinary band of Svensans at your wedding so that your guest can enjoy the reception, a really cute cake and a solemn union between you two and your family and close friends. What do you think? For me it is awesome already. It will be very solemn and of course it will be held in our backyard.¡± She looks at me and saw me biting my fingernails so she said ¡°Oh dear, no no no, biting fingers, it¡¯s a disgusting habit. You will get a lot of bacteria from there. It was not hygienic ¡± In fact, I was very unhappy to hear her say so. I habitually bit my finger and looked at her talking about her own n for our wedding makes me a little ufortable. It should be us nning and not her. She saw me bite my finger allergic to nuts and said it was a bad habit. I was embarrassed to take it out. ¡°Don¡¯t move, I want to¡ want to¡ there, I caught it.¡± I think there is something in my hair, and she is helping me get it. ¡°Oh, thank you, uh,¡± I didn¡¯t know if she was taking something or doing something. She tugged at my hair hard, almost pulling my scalp. I gave a painful cry after she was done getting whatever there is in my hair. I still thank her, even though it is still a bit painful. ¡°What do you think of pink as the motif of your wedding?¡± She asked me if I like the color pink, I frowned, my lipstick today is pink, not bad. But making it as our motif? Nope. I don¡¯t want it to be pink. The waiter arrived in time with the rest of our orders. ¡°Excuse me ma¡¯am.¡± The waiter put what we needed on the table. He was putting down the sd when I noticed that there were some nuts in there so I stopped him. The waiter looked at me and said ¡°What¡¯s the matter?¡± ¡°May I have another sd without nuts? I¡¯m allergic to this. I hope you understand.¡± I looked at the waiter. I really want to have the sd. ¡°Okay. No problem ma¡¯am. I¡¯ll just tell the chef about your request.¡± The waiter stepped down. He took the sd to the table and left. I was still looking at him as he approaches the kitchen to tell his coworker about my request. I shifted my eyes to Diane again and said ¡°I¡¯m allergic to nuts, eggs, shellfish, blueberries, oh¡ and soybeans. I hope you understand¡± I told Diana all the foods I was forbidden to eat because of my allergies.C0ntent ? 2024 (N/?)velDrama.Org. ¡°It¡¯s amazing that you have survived so many years without getting hurt. Oh, by the way, when ites to cakes, I want to use traditional vani with strawberry juice. Is that okay with you? Do you have any requests?¡± I smiled. What do you mean I can survive so many years? She sounded like I was not supposed to survive. Ah, this woman really makes me sit up and take notice. She also wants to make my wedding cake into her favorite type. What a selfish woman she is. ¡°You see, Diana, I¡¯ve really taken care of all this. I wanted to personally do it because it is my wedding. It is very special to me and I wanted to be the one to n everything.¡± I shook my head. Then I bite on to my burger, swallow my snacks and take a sip on my soda. I¡¯ve already taken care of these things, and I don¡¯t want her to interfere any more. She had enough of interfering with my own wedding. She wanted to be the one in control. And I don¡¯t want that. This is my wedding and I should be the one to decide what I like, whether it is my wedding gown, motif, the cake, or even the guest list. ¡°I made this for you. It¡¯s your wedding n. I want it to be perfect not only for you but also for my son. The motif will be in the color pink.¡± She took out a pink wedding nner she made for us from under the table. It was quite nice. ¡°Oh, is that a picture of me and Donald on the front page?¡± I took the nner from her and saw a picture of me and Donald on the cover. I looked at it for a couple of minutes and then I decided to open it. Curious about what is inside I gently open the first page of the nner. ¡°Oh, I almost forgot. Since you¡¯re going to be my daughter soon, I decided to give you a present.¡± She paused for a while then continued to talk ¡°It¡¯s time for your new mom to give you presents. So here take this.¡± She pulled a small ck box out of her bag and handed it to me. ¡°Thank you. Really I appreciate you and this gift so much.¡± The box is small and exquisite, so I took it and opened it with an excited smile. My eyes were shocked to see what was inside the ck box. ¡°Oh, how big! You can see the thorns on the roses.¡± It¡¯s a golden pendant. It¡¯s beautiful, no the term beautiful was not enough to describe the gold pendant it was magnificent. Chapter 10 ¡°You will wear it on your wedding day, just like me, but of course I was a virgin when I got married, but we will pretend that you are, too. Now, about the wedding, you two will arrive in a carriage, and the driving hat will go well with the saddle, and the pigeons with ribbons will fly at that moment, at the moment of saying ¡®I do¡¯, huh? I¡¯ve been in touch with your bridesmaid.¡± I was suddenly shocked by her revtion. What is this? Why should she question me with her ideas? It¡¯s too much. I took a sip on my lemonade soda. I wanted to tell her that I don¡¯t want that kind of wedding but to my dismay she looked like she was not going to agree with me. ¡°How do you know their names? Where did you get the list of my bridesmaids?¡± ¡°Oh, Donald told me. My son was generous enough to tell me about the details of your wedding. He told me about the bridesmaid you chose for your wedding. Hey, I almost forgot about your honeymoon. I think your honeymoon should be in London. London is definitely the best ce for you and my son. It is also because Donald likes it very much.¡± Donald likes it, but it does not necessarily mean that I should like it also. I was done listening to her so I said, ¡°Hey, wait, wait a moment, will you? Regarding all your ns for my wedding I decline your ideas. No, thank you, but none of this was going to happen on my wedding, not horses and carriages, not top hats, not pigeons and geese, not any other farm animals you want to use on the wedding day, and absolutely not your ns for our honeymoon.¡± Oh, I can¡¯t stand this wedding n. I think she just wants to screw up my wedding with Donald. It¡¯s really annoying. She wanted to control everything. She was getting out of hand. This is my wedding and it should be mine and not hers. ¡°What? Oh, no, I can¡¯t, oh, oh, oh.¡± After listening to my rejection, she first lifted her forehead, touched her chest, and then found something in her bag. ¡°What¡¯s the matter? Oh, no, what?¡± What are you talking about? I can¡¯t seem to understand. Wait. Wait.¡± She rummaged through her bag at random, looking for something and I couldn¡¯t understand what she was looking at. Is it as if it was her lifeline. ¡°My medicine, my medicine. I have to find my medicine. Where is my medicine?!¡± She poured all the contents of her bag on the table, as if looking for some kind of medicine. ¡°Ok, ok, I¡¯ll help you look for your medicine. But what kind of medicine are you looking for?¡± I looked for the medicine she needed from the items she dumped on the table. I was also starting to rummage through her things. ¡°Oh,¡± she cried. She puts her hand on her head as if feeling sick. I look at her worriedly. ¡°Diana, oh, no, wait, Diana, Diana, Diana! Good heavens, Diana, good heavens! What happened to you?¡± She shook her head unsteadily in her chair. She was also starting to get weaker and weaker. I called her several times in a row, but she suddenly fell to the ground. ¡°Give her some space.¡± A lot of people soon gathered around us making it difficult for us to breathe. Can¡¯t they see that the person just fainted and the person needed enough space for her to breath. ¡°Help! Help! Help! Somebody please, help us! ¡± I shouted. I was panicking because I didn¡¯t know what to do. My head went nk and all I could do now was to ask for help. I hurriedly stood and went over to help her. ¡°Give her some air. Please move aside. Let her breath.¡± ¡°My God, is she dead?¡± ¡°What happened to her?¡± ¡°Did someone call for an ambnce already?¡± ¡°Call the ambnce!¡± ¡°Do we have any Doctor here?¡± People who don¡¯t know anything are chattering around, which makes me more upset but also some of them were worried that they would start calling for help and even went looking for an avable Doctor around the vicinity. ¡°No, please help her, she won¡¯t die so easily. she just fainted. I just need someone to help us get her to the nearest hospital¡± I was still panicking but unlike a while ago my head was starting to clear. I was kneeling on her side as shey on the ground without any movement. Someone from the crowd managed to call 911 emergency and soon an ambnce arrived. They picked her up, gave her first aid and rushed her to the hospital. I was really nervous on the way to the hospital. I should have said to her nicely. I should not blurt out everything just like that. But also, I didn¡¯t know that she would have this kind of reaction. As soon as we arrived at the hospital the medics rushed her to the emergency room, I followed them behind. One of the doctors is attending to her, while I am waiting on the side. I was there the whole time. I wanted to make sure that she is alright so I dare not move. After sometime the doctor finished attending to her and went to me saying, ¡°the patient has an anxiety disorder, it feels like a heart attack, but luckily she will be fine, but she absolutely needs to rx, don¡¯t put pressure on her, she also said to me that you yelled at her, that you also refused her gift, and also said she wouldn¡¯t be allowed to make ns for his son¡¯s wedding because you forbid her so. Tell me it wasn¡¯t true. Right?¡± I was shocked to hear what she said but I dare not make anyments. So, it was really my fault as to why she had a panic attack but I didn¡¯t know about her illness. The doctor soon left and went to check on the other patient. As I was waiting at the doorstep of the ward, I saw Donald swiftly walking to me. but he just passes through me. He went on to her mother¡¯s side. Looking worried he checked her all over. When he found out that her mother just fainted because of her anxiety attack he was relieved. After seeing his mother, he went to hug me and heforted me that it was okay, and said that his mother told him that I did something bad to her. ¡°My mother told me that you did something. She said that it was your fault why she had a panic attack. What really happened? Is it true? Is true that you did bad to her?¡± Donald asked me in a calm tone. I was ready to face his wrath but I was wrong. He was just asking me for rifications. I was relieved by his reaction. I thought that he would go berserk knowing that I made her mother ill. ¡°Oh, technically¡ it¡¯s true, but, wait, I didn¡¯t yell at her, and she kept pushing me, pushing me, pushing me, I admit I was a little devastated, but what should I do? She doesn¡¯t want to hear a ¡®no ¡®answer. She wanted everything under her control.¡± I was a bit upset knowing that I was the cause of her panic attack but, if it weren¡¯t for her forcing me into something I don¡¯t like, I would not be so quick to refuse her request. It was clearly not my fault I just reacted to her. I felt that she was forcing me to let her do everything she wanted at my wedding. ¡°Well, you see my mother was very difficult to deal with sometimes. And you know she¡¯s just had a tough time, so she¡¯s kind of difficult to get along with. Please bear with her. I know it is hard but she is my mother and soon you will also be her daughter, making you her new daughter. I didn¡¯t wasn¡¯t to see the both of you quarreling all the time.¡± Donald was caressing my hair while patiently exining to me. ¡°Difficult? A two-year-old child is difficult to get along with. She is like¡ ah. Never mind. ok. Ok. I¡¯ll try to get along with her. For you.¡± Is she difficult to get along with? It¡¯s unreasonable. I¡¯m mad. Why should I endure this kind of torture? Did I offend someone in my past life to be in this situation? Why do I need to suffer this much in the hands of his mother?N?velDrama.Org content. Chapter 11 ¡°Well, she¡¯s all alone. I¡¯m all she has, the two of us are all she has, well. Just please for me. try to get along with her in the future and please avoid making her mad.¡± What else can I do? Donald isforting me with a gentle touch of him. I can¡¯t say no to him and besides his right. ¡°Excuse me, I¡¯m Dr. Chambein, a resident psychiatrist, and you¡¯re Ms. Field¡¯s son? Am I right?¡± Just then a man in a white coat iming to be a psychiatrist came over and he said to Donald. ¡°Yes Dr. Chambein,¡± Donald looked at the side of the doctor and responded. ¡°Can we talk in private? I have some important matters to discuss with you.¡± The doctor wants to talk to Donald alone. He was motioning him to follow him to the office but Donald¡¯s response made me happy. ¡°Actually, this is my fianc¨¦e. We are getting married soon. And whatever you want to talk about can be heard by her. We can talk here. Is that all right?¡± I¡¯m d Donald didn¡¯t agree to the doctor¡¯s request and leave me alone here. The doctor motioned us to follow him in the corridor where we can have a chat. ¡°Oh, I just finished interviewing your mother, and I¡¯m a little worried that she¡¯s probably on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I see her at least twice a week in our previous sessions, and also, I¡¯ve prescribed some anti-anxiety pills for her to rx if she starts to feel sick, does she live alone?¡± Well, her today¡¯s behavior did go a little too far, causing her anxiety attack I thought to myself as I listened to the doctor¡¯s exnation. ¡°Yes. She lives alone now.¡± His mother has been living alone for a while now. ¡°Oh, I thought that too, but I need rification. Please let rtives or friends take care of her, I mean with those closest to her I think she will have less panic attacks and maybe by that her attacks can be cured. Don¡¯t worry it willst just until we are sure that she is safe and that she will not have any attacks in the future.¡± They have some rtives, but they don¡¯t want to pass the responsibility to them.. anxiety is not easy to deal with, so we need to take good care of her and have a lot of patients. ¡°Well, thank you, Doctor. I will certainly ask for someone to take care of her. but for now, I will be the one to take care of my mother.¡± Donald thanked the doctor, who just left. ¡°Oh, my God, I have to go to the medical conference. What should I do?¡± Donald can¡¯t take care of his mother. ¡°You know what? Don¡¯t¡ don¡¯t worry, I¡¯ll take care of her. I promise. Just go for now. I know that conference was important.¡± He kissed my forehead before he left and went to his job. I offered to take care of her mother, in order to make him feel at ease.Exclusive content ? by N?(v)el/Dr/ama.Org. ¡°Thank you, let¡¯s go.¡± Donald looked at me with gratitude and smiled, then took my hand and walked forward. I was just going to send him off outside the hospital but instead of that he walked me through his mother¡¯s ward room. ¡°What?¡± ¡°Come on,e with me.¡± He¡¯s taking me to his mother¡¯s room. ¡°No, no, the doctor said not to put pressure on her. if I go inside I am afraid that she will have another attack. I¡¯ll just look at her outside and see her from time to time.¡± I hurriedly waved my hand to show that I didn¡¯t want to go. I was afraid to irritate her again with my character. ¡°Okay, Linda, that¡¯s enough.¡± He replied to me. ¡°Donald, I want to stay here. Besides, even though I am here I am still capable of taking care of her. I just don¡¯t want to irritate her again.¡± I prayed to him that I would stay outside alone. But he finally dragged me back to his mother¡¯s ward. I was nervous. ¡°Let¡¯s go. She will be ok. Don¡¯t think too much. She will still look at you without having an attack. Don¡¯t put pressure on yourself.¡± I was in a bad mood and went into the ward. I stood three or four meters away from the hospital bed. Afraid that she will see me. ¡°I¡¯m so sorry.¡± Diana said as shey pale in the hospital bed. ¡°No, mom,e on, it¡¯s okay, really.¡± He went tofort his mother. ¡°Linda? Come here.¡± Donald turned and motioned for me to go near them and to say something. I look at him hesitating for a bit. ¡°I¡¯m sorry too, Diana. I was a bit harsh.¡± I bowed my head and apologized to his mother. ¡°No, I¡¯m too aggressive. I¡¯m sorry. I did not think of what I was doing. Please forgive me also.¡± His mother also said sorry to me and I was relieved because of this. ¡°No, you didn¡¯t. You see, Diana, I would be very happy if you helped to organize the wedding. It is also your son¡¯s wedding and he would be happy, no, we would be happy to be part of the nning.¡± Donald was looking at me all the time, so I had to give up my idea for a while. Since she wanted to help organize the wedding, she would do it all by herself. I just wanted to stop provoking her. I am afraid if I provoke her more it would cause her nervous breakdowns. Linda¡¯s Point Of View ¡°Well, honey, I, I really don¡¯t think I¡¯m up to it. In my situation right now? I don¡¯t think I can¡¯t do it anymore. Besides, I don¡¯t want to be a burden to both of you. My head is going to explode.¡± Diana gasped that she didn¡¯t want to bepetent in organizing the wedding, and I stood there frozen in my ce with my head down. ¡°Mom, Linda and I think you should stay with us for a while until you recover. It is for your own good and of course for you to be able to help my fianc¨¦e in organizing our union.¡± Donaldforted his mother by the bed and offered to live with us. Diana¡¯s eyes sparkled. She heard good news. ¡°Are you sure? Is it okay? ¡± He said reluctantly hence her look betrayed her ¡°Oh, maybe I can¡¯t, I can¡¯t. I will just be a hindrance to you both. Besides, I don¡¯t think you need another responsibility.¡± Diana covered her chest and panted. It looks like she was about to have another anxiety attack. ¡°Mom, it¡¯s okay, rx. No need to fret about it so much. I assure you that everything will be ok.¡± Donald quicklyforted his mother. He was assuring her that everything will be fine. ¡°But is it really? I may not be able to do it unless I know Linda has forgiven me, will you? Will you forgive me dear? ¡± In a hurry, she took the oxygen machine hanging next to her and put it on her nose and mouth. Then she continued talking ¡°I will really be fine as long as she will forgive me. my soon to be daughter. I am really causing you trouble.¡± She sucked oxygen and then both of them looked at me together, asking if I should forgive Diana. ¡°Me? Yes, I forgive you. I am in no position to say no because I know that I caused this. I am really sorry again for what happened to you.¡± In this situation, how dare I say a ¡°no¡±? I was really mystified by the fact that she was using her illness to have what she wanted. But I didn¡¯tment more. I was responsible for everything I said. Yes, I admit. And I won¡¯t really make it difficult for the both of us. After our talk Donald went on to his doctor¡¯s conference leaving me behind with his mother in the ward. When he came back, he told her mother that we will help her find a movingpany and moved everything Diana could and could not use back to where I lived now. The room suddenly became lively. ¡°Mother, are you feeling better? Do you feel any ufortability?¡± Donald helped her into the house. Hearing her say that we both exhaled a sigh of relief. Chapter 12 ¡°Yes son, much better, thank you. Honey, I¡¯m a little hungry.¡± After she was discharged from hospital, her face returned to its original color and she recovered very well. She looked at him on her side and told him that. He was currently helping his mother on his right hand and the other hand was carrying one of Diana¡¯s bag. I took the bag that Donald was carrying in his other hand. ¡°Can you help me get something to eat? Is there any restaurant near here? I am really hungry.¡± ¡°Yes, let¡¯s go there to find you something to eat.¡± They went out to walk to the nearest restaurant they saw a while ago. I just look at them going out. I didn¡¯t go with them anymore, instead I went inside the house to rest. I was sitting on the sofa when the front door opened. It was Fritz, his mother¡¯s assistant. What is she doing here? Did Diana tell her toe here? She was struggling with what she was holding when she looked up to me, she saw me and instantly smiled. ¡°Hi, Linda, nice to see you again. What brings you here?¡± Fitz walked in with her bag in both hands and sweating profusely. ¡°Are you going to move in, too? Did Diana tell you to be here?¡± What¡¯s Fitz doing here? Aren¡¯t I going to take care of her boss? ¡°No, I won¡¯t live here. I just went here to help in moving Mrs. Field things. By the way, prepare some weapons in your room, you will need them. don¡¯t forget it, ok? If you want to live here peacefully you will need them.¡± Well, it seems that I think too much, but¡ I don¡¯t understand why I needed those and what I would do with weapons. After saying that, she went to the inner room with the things in her hand. I saw her putting all those bags in the room. When she is done, she goes out of the room. She then looks at me as if telling me to heed what she said. ¡°Well¡ I see.¡± I looked at the back of her leaving. She opened the door and once again looked at me before she stepped out of the apartment. Thinking about what she said, I was stunned. I don¡¯t know what she really meant but guessing what she said I think I know where I will use those. A couple of hours passed. Donald and his mother finally arrived. They went to sit on the sofa while chatting happily. I just watched them as they were conversing. When I thought of something I stood up and went to the room. In the evening, Donald and I were having a conversation. ¡°When will youe back?¡± I ask him. I sat on the bed and shook my hanging legs. Donald was going to some medical conference again and I didn¡¯t know when he woulde back. I didn¡¯t want to be alone with Diana. It was too difficult. I am afraid to be alone with her because of her illness. I may again trigger her anxiety and it will be bad for the both of us. ¡°I¡¯ll be back soon, my dear, I promise. Are you sure you have nothing to do with taking care of her? Is it really ok with you? ¡± He is packing his bags. Preparing for the conference he will go to. ¡°Yes, I mean, I will only take care of her at night, right? Besides, you said that she sleeps most of the time after taking the medicine given by the doctor, doesn¡¯t she? Or does she have any ns for the day?¡± there should be no problem if she will do what Donald has said to me.. Since she sleeps most of the time, it will not be too tiresome to take care of her. not unless she will do something that will really annoy me. knowing what she did to me in the restaurant. I can¡¯t guarantee if she really will do what she was supposed to do. ¡°You see, I know my mother is a little difficult to deal with, so if you have any questions, call me as soon as possible and I will take the first flight back, I promise. Don¡¯t worry too much. I will be here for you. You just need to call or text me.¡± I feel at ease after listening to his words. ¡°Well, you need to go home as soon as possible.¡± I stood up and hugged him tightly, praying that he woulde back early. I don¡¯t know what will happen to both of us if hees backte.C0ntent ? 2024 (N/?)velDrama.Org. ¡°Yes, I will. As soon as the conference is over, I will have the earliest flight here. Who knows? Maybe by the time Ie back, you two will have be good friends.¡± I smiled, and when I wasn¡¯t paying attention, he hugged me to bed, and I was really shy but I did not fight with him anymore. I just let him do whatever he wants. ¡°Ah, am I in the way?¡± Diana came in without knocking at the door, and she didn¡¯t want to go out when she saw us in that awkward position. She was still waiting for us. Donald replied to her mother saying, ¡°No mother you were not disturbing us. You cane in. Why are you here by the way? Do you need anything?¡± he got up immediately when she saw her. ¡°The person who hosted the banquet called. He thought I was going to hold another wedding. He sent a sample of tableware, because I told him your favorite color, and I also said that it should not be pink.¡± She paused for a moment then continued to speak. ¡°Therefore, from now on, everything about the wedding must be approved by my future daughter-inw.¡± Diana came leisurely with a beautiful set of tableware, and made it look like I liked it. She also agreed that I should organize the wedding. And I was really relieved by what she said. ¡°Thank you very much. Thank you so much for doing this.¡± I¡¯m d she can do this, and I appreciate it. ¡°Really?¡± Of course, it¡¯s true. The phone on the desk suddenly rang, we all looked at it but Donald was the one to answer it. ¡°OK, I¡¯ll be right down, thank you.¡± ¡°By the way, how about this set of tableware? What do you think? Is it to your liking?¡± Diana raised the tableware in her hand and asked my opinion. ¡°Wow, how beautiful, Diana, thank you. I really like it.¡± I took the tableware in her hand and observed it carefully. The pattern on it is very beautiful and the workmanship is very fine. I have to say that her eyes are really good. It was really made intricately. ¡°I¡¯m d you like it. When I saw this tableware, I instantly thought of you. So, I hurriedly went here to let you see it.¡± She came forward and hugged me. I was stunned for a moment, but returned her hug. ¡°The car I rented hase to pick me up, and I have to go first. Goodbye, mother, goodbye, dear, I love you. Have a good time together! I will be back as soon as possible¡± Donald watched us hug each other and said goodbye with joy. ¡°Don¡¯t worry dear, we will have a good time. I will be a good roommate. I swear, it¡¯s good to have a girlfriend. We will have a lot of fun together.¡± She hugged me tightly and didn¡¯t give me a chance to rx. Before I said goodbye to Donald, he had already gone out with his suitcase. I was so sad that I didn¡¯t even hug him before he left. ¡°Yes, we will live well.¡± I¡¯m almost breathless in her arms. Late at night, I couldn¡¯t sleep because of a cry in my sleep. I tried to open my sleepy eyes and turn on the light. The light was a little dazzling. I immediately got out of bed and went to Diana¡¯s room with the cry. ¡°What¡¯s the matter with you, Diana? What happened? Are you ok?¡± I saw her hiding under the quilt and crying loudly. I don¡¯t know what to do. ¡°I can¡¯t sleep. I can¡¯t sleep well alone.¡± She said while still crying under the quilt. ¡°I¡¯m by your side. Don¡¯t cry. Did you forget to take your medicine at night?¡± I pulled open the quilt and helped her lie t. Then continue to say ¡°I won¡¯t leave you, I will be here for you. Rxed. Everything will be okay.¡± I was reassuring her. Chapter 13 ¡°I will take the medicine. Oh, I forgot. Can you get it for me? They are over there in the cupboard.¡± Seeing meing, her mood stabilized a little. How can she forget to take her medicine? I thought. ¡°You lie down well first, and I will help you get the medicine.¡± I tucked her in and went to the cupboard to get the medicine. This material belongs to N?velDrama.Org. I went out to get her medicine in the cupboard. I was walking to her room when I saw her looking at the ceiling as if thinking something. ¡°Diana, please get up, I brought you your medicine.¡± I walked to her bedside and sat beside her. ¡°Oh, pour me another ss of water. How can I drink without water?¡± She sat up and took the medicine, ready to throw it into her mouth, only to find that there was no water. I forgot to fetch her some so I went out again. ¡°All right.¡± I said but I was so sleepy that my eyelids kept fighting, but I had to endure to help her get water. ¡°I can¡¯t drink the water in the faucet. It will give me a stomach ache. Can you bring me Evian mineral water and add some ice?¡± This is unreasonable request, why can¡¯t she drink the water in the faucet? We all drink it. Do we have stomach aches when we drink iced water in the middle of the night? It¡¯s strange. Why will she get a stomach ache from the faucet water and not from the cold water? ¡°Mm-hmm, I see. I will get you your Evian water.¡± If you add ice to it, it will cause her stomachache. Anyway, it¡¯s not me who will have a stomachache. I went out to get her water. ¡°Here¡¯s your Evian water. Drink your medicine now. It is gettingte.¡± ¡°Thank you.¡± She took the water bottle and I watched her finish the medicine. When she finished, she put the bottled water on the bedside with the medicine holder. ¡°Sleep well now, will you?¡± After I helped her lie down, I turned to go out. I was too sleepy and just wanted to sleep quickly. Before I could close the door she spoke. ¡°Linda, I know it¡¯s not a good question to ask, but this is my first night with you. Can you stay with me? Please, sleep with me. I can¡¯t sleep in a different bed. I am having a hard time sleeping every time I am in a new ce. So please if you don¡¯t mind, can you stay here and apany me for a while.¡± She pleaded with tears in her eyes for me to sleep with her, so I decided to do what she wanted. I nodded my head and went to her side then we slept together. Iy next to her and soon fell asleep. ¡°Huh? No, no, don¡¯t do this.¡± She began to talk in her sleep again, with a loud voice, like having a nightmare. I woke up immediately after hearing her. I wanted to look at her so I went near her, and then ¡°snapped¡± a loud sound. I was pped by her in her sleep. I was too stunned. I was looking at her with a shock on my face. I felt the pain sipping through my face. I quickly blocked my face with my hands for fear of being hit again. ¡°Diana, what¡¯s the matter with you? Why did you suddenly p me? Are you alright? Hey, wake up! ¡± She pped her teeth and ws at random. I asked her what was wrong, but she couldn¡¯t wake up. I held her shoulders then tried shaking her but to no avail. She was struggling with my hands, hitting and shouting like someone was hurting her. I was starting to get scared. ¡°No, let me go! Let me go! Please just let me go!¡± She cried in sorrow, she was hitting people in various ways, then after a few minutes she finally started to calm down. When I saw her calmed down, I removed my hands on her shoulder but it seemed that she was not awake yet. She turned and put her arms around me. I was very scared at that time, and my trembling hands made me unable to sleep for a long time. I thought, ¡±What if she has another nightmare again? What if she will not only hurt me but will try to strangle me in my sleep? What if something bad happens to her next time. It was the longest night in my entire life. I really couldn¡¯t sleep because of the thought that was in my head and of course I was really concerned about her. The next day, I woke up early because I really couldn¡¯t get myself to sleep peacefully but as usual, I went to bask some dogs out of thewn to let them enjoy the sun while ying and because I didn¡¯t sleep wellst night, I fell asleep lying on thewn. ¡°Arf, Arf, Arf.¡± The barking of the dog interrupted my dream. I stood up speedily, and the dogs began to run wildly. I was dragged away by them identally. I don¡¯t know what to do but I managed to calm them down. After I finished my work, I went home directly. As I was walking to enter the house with a tired body, I smelled a strange smell. I was still in front of the front door but the aroma was quite inviting. So, I continue to walk in the kitchen. I smelled something delicious. It smelled like it was from a restaurant. I saw Diana busy in the kitchen. ¡°Wee back dear, how are you today? Are you feeling tired¡± Seeing that I came back, she took out a te of food from the microwave oven, but I didn¡¯t see what it was. ¡°Well¡ it¡¯s fine today, very good. I was a bit tired. What are you doing?¡± I walked into the kitchen and saw that there were good dishes on the table. ¡°I was a little bored here today. Staying at home and doing nothing makes me crazy so, I went to look for something here in the kitchen to cook. I wanted you to taste my cooking. And of course, I wanted to say thank you to you for taking care of me.e here dear. Sit down and try it.¡± She put some pie-shaped things on my te, and I put down my backpack and sat at the table to try it. I was a bit shocked by her revtion, I didn¡¯t know that she has this sweet side. ¡°This is a fish fillet kidney cake. In fact, the fish fillet was not thawed in time, so most of them are kidneys.¡± I ate the dish she said, ah, it was a little hard to swallow, and the taste of sashimi filled my mouth. It was not too much to say it was dark food. To be honest, it was really a little unbearable. When is this really food that people can eat? I want to blur that out but of course she put an effort doing this so, I can¡¯t bear to say that to her. ¡°Do you like it? Is it delicious?¡± She drank red wine and asked me if it was delicious. My face was full of expressions and I was afraid to vomit. It was really unbearable to eat and it was made not for people to eat but for the animals. But I think even the animals will not like the taste of this. ¡°Well, yes. It was delicious. Thank you so much for your effort.¡± I chewed the food in my mouth, and the chicken pecked rice and nodded, not wanting her to notice anything. I was still chewing the food in my mouth when she suddenly spoke. Saying, ¡°I made a decision today. I called mywyer and asked him to rewrite my will. I want to include my new daughter-inw. I want you to be on the list of my will.¡± After that, she stood up and left the table. I was looking at her the whole time. When she was out of my sight and while she wasn¡¯t looking, I quickly spit out what I had in my mouth on the napkin. I was so grossed to death by the dishes she had made. When I saw hering back with her phone in her hand I quickly said, ¡°There is no need to do so, Diana. I will not marry your son for the money. It is better if you will not re-write your will.¡± ¡°Oh, you don¡¯t have to worry about it, I would like to, but when they rewrite the will, they will ask some stupid questions, like ¡®Are you from outer space?''¡± She asked me, as she sat solemnly at the table with sses, a notebook and her phone in front of her. Chapter 14 ¡°What? Of course, I¡¯m not. But you really don¡¯t need to do that for me.¡± I bowed my head and continued to ¡°eat¡± the cake she prepared for me, listening to some strange questions from her. ¡°Very interesting, isn¡¯t it? So on to the next question. Are there any gic diseases in your family? You know, these may be passed on to my grandchildren. I hope you can answer truthfully.¡± She asked very seriously, which should be what she wanted to ask herself. Pullingwyers in is a cover. I knew what she was doing. She was really a schemer. She used her will and her attorney to ask me those nonsense questions. ¡°No. we don¡¯t have any gic diseases. ¡± I swallowed a small mouthful of fish fillet kidney cake and told her truthfully. I really want to stop eating but I don¡¯t want her to be offended so I keep on eating small amounts. ¡°Okay, clear on that. I was relieved to know that you don¡¯t have any. How many men have you had sex with before? Or how many rtionships have you had before my son?¡± She took off her sses and looked at me defiantly. She really wants to know everything about me. ¡°Huh? Why are they asking? Do I need to answer that?¡± It¡¯s a stupid and ridiculous question. I smiled and took a sip of the red wine ss in front of me. ¡°You don¡¯t want to say, I think you had a lot, right? Would you like to sign a prenuptial agreement? Of course, it¡¯s for my son¡¯s safety.¡± She widened her eyes, thought I had sex with a lot of men, and said what she thought was right without logic. ¡°What are you talking about? What do you mean?¡± I was starting to get irritated by her questions but I wonder why she needs to ask those. ¡°I know that you are just having fun then and It¡¯s none of my business. If you don¡¯t want to answer it, it¡¯s okay then let¡¯s talk about it another day.¡± I looked at her. I didn¡¯t know what she was thinking. I really wanted to pick up the pan on the table and swing it in her face. She was really annoying me. ¡°I won¡¯t ask you any questions. Now you can enjoy your dinner. I¡¯ll clean the kitchen after you finish eating. Enjoy your food.¡± She finally stops asking her mindless questions. ¡°No, no, you have cooked. I¡¯ll clean it up. You can go and have a rest.¡± I returned politely. She went out and I was really relieved to see her leaving. I hope she finishes quickly so that she can go to her room and rest. ¡°Are you sure?¡± She took a peek at the entrance of the dining table. In my head I say ¡®Sure, if you don¡¯t leave, how can I dump that disgusting dish?¡¯ ¡°Of course,¡± I smiled at her. ¡°I¡¯m a little tired, so I¡¯ll go down first. I didn¡¯t sleep wellst night. Thank you and please after you finish the dishes go to your room and have your rest. Goodnight!¡± She held her forehead and went out. ¡°You didn¡¯t sleep well?¡± When she went out, I cursed in a low voice. I knew she had a nightmare but she was still sleeping peacefully at my side. Linda¡¯s Point Of View When she went out, I quickly put away everything and started to clean the kitchen. After finishing everything, I thought that I may be able to sleep, but I was not sleepy at all. I nested on the sofa in the living room and nned to watch TV for a while. ¡°Look at the bus! It¡¯s skidding, it¡¯s out of control, the bus¡¯s out of control.¡± There was a boringmentary on TV, so I changed the channel again.N?velDrama.Org content. ¡°Is anyone here? Tina, Tina? Hello? Is anyone here?¡± I turned the channel of the tv to seventy-five, it was a horror movie. I suddenly became interested, I changed into myfortable posture because I wanted to be focused on the movie. I felt that there was someone with me so I said, ¡°Who is it?¡± Looking up. ¡°Ah-ah¡¡± I quickly jumped up from the sofa when I heard the screams, I was really frightened by the sound. I saw Diana meter away in a very strange suit, with a face covered and her long nails. I don¡¯t know when she came or where she came from. But I was really scared. I was terrified to death by her screams, and is she going to stay up overnight just to pretend to be a ghost? I thought to myself. What is she doing? ¡°Why you? Oh, my God. I thought you were asleep. You really scared me to death!¡± I calmed my heart and breathed several breaths. My heart was racing rapidly. She always tortured me by surprise. She really would be the death of me if she would not stop doing that. ¡°I can¡¯t sleep, he never forgets my birthday, and of course now he doesn¡¯t care anymore. Do you mind if I sit next to you?¡± She was very disappointed and annoyed at the same time. the dim light reflected in her face, she looked more vicious terror, she waved her hand, wanting to sit next to me. ¡°It¡¯s okay, just sit down next to me.¡± I really want to tell her to go back to her room and rest but of course I didn¡¯t tell her that. My thoughts were ¡®can I get rid of you? Can you go back to your house? Why are you so annoying? Why do you always want toe in our way? Why don¡¯t you just be like other supportive mothers? Why are you so vicious?¡¯ I rolled my eyes in my heart. ¡°Just sit for a while¡± she walked next to me and sat. I was wondering why she had to sit next to me if the sofa was so wide that five people could sitfortably. ¡°What is she running for?¡± She looked at the movie I was watching on TV and asked me. ¡°Oh, she¡¯s being chased.¡± I told her nonchntly. ¡°Why chase her? by whom? Did she do something wrong? What happened? ¡± She replied curiously to me. ¡°I don¡¯t know yet. I just turned it up on that channel. I was just about to watch it also.¡± ¡°Oh, who is she then? Is she the lead star? Do you know her? What¡¯s her real name?¡± she was really curious about the movie. ¡°I don¡¯t know, we have to watch it first, it was a horror movie. Don¡¯t talk anymore, you will spoil the movie. Just watch. ¡± I patiently replied to her and told her not to talk any more. ¡°Well, don¡¯t you hate the clothes she wears? Why is she wearing that in the first ce? Running outside barefoot, and, uh, the pajamas? It¡¯s too fake. They should make it more realistic. I once did a show on an evening program, you won¡¯t believe how much demography has affected broadcasting. I mean, it¡¯s ridiculous. All they care about is the cost. It¡¯s nice to sit with your family and do nothing, isn¡¯t it? I don¡¯t even have to talk. It¡¯s great. I really miss being an office worker¡¯s mother. I used to take Donald to the set. That¡¯s where he met Gore Vader and Jackie Chan. Are there other celebrities in this movie? Because I don¡¯t know them, they all look the same, all the girls have the same body, all the boys have the same hair, are there so many beautiful people living in Los Angeles? I think all the beautiful genes are in California. Why did he kiss her? I can¡¯t understand it. Why are you watching that? It¡¯s too fake and they look stupid.¡± I¡¯m suppressing my anger; I need to calm down. listening to her gushing, I was very upset. I just want to watch a movie. But why does she want to ruin it? Of course, she really wants to annoy the hell out of me. The more she was bbing about her experience and her feedback on the movie, the more energetic she became. It was really irritating to hear. Chapter 15 As she spoke, shey on myp. Her two hands with long nails scratched me indiscriminately. I was very manic and wanted to drive her away. But of course, I didn¡¯t want to cause another ident. I don¡¯t want to anger her because she may experience anxiety attack again. I don¡¯t want that to happen. That is why I let her do what she wants. She sprawled on myp and continued to speak but after a couple of minutes she fell asleep. When I saw her sleeping on myp, I turned my eyes to the movie. I wanted to focus but I was getting sleepy. The next morning, ¡°Duuu..¡± I heard an irritating noise. I am awakened by a disturbing sound. I get up hurriedly because I was scared to roll down from the sofa. I immediately raised my head and turned to look around. I thought my home was robbed. I was a bit dizzy from my sudden movement. ¡°Sorry, I thought it was air freshener. Go back to sleep.¡± I saw Diana. She got up early, looked at me sitting on the sofa with a small horn in her hand, andughed. I am speechless. How can there be such a person? This material belongs to N?velDrama.Org. She was really being mean to me. and I was really annoyed. If I had a choice I wouldn¡¯t want to be at the same house as her. She is making everything hard for me. I got up and went to my room, took a bath, got dressed and went to the office. When I arrived at thepany, I saw one of my colleagues, we greeted each other and then went to our own offices. It was another night of torture. I didn¡¯t sleep well again, of course, because of his mother. When I sat down on my chair, I felt tired so I dozed off. ¡°Linda? Someone is calling.¡± I heard someone calling me and saying that there was a call from the telephone. I immediately answered the call ¡°Dr. Berthaire¡¯s office, Miss Rejoc? Hi? Yes, good-bye.¡± I squinted after listening to the phone, slowly bowed my head and fell asleep on the table. Well, I was really sleepy. But there was another call on my phone. this time it¡¯s Diana. ¡°Linda,e out with me and we¡¯ll go shopping. I¡¯ll wait for you at the door of the Chanel store.¡± As soon as I answered the call, she told me that. After she finished speaking, she hung up without giving me a chance to refuse. ¡°Ding Dong¡± I received a message on my mobile phone, it was sent by Diana. I picked up my things, retouched my makeup, went inside the office to tell my boss about my leave and then went out, taking a taxi to the ce Diana said. Inside the car I was rummaging through my bag to get my phone. When I got it, I opened it and searched for the location of the Chanel store. The sign that I saw was ¡°When you can¡¯t find the right clothes, wear Chanel suits¡± is very catchy. And the clothes inside are all exquisite. After searching for the location, I turned my mobile phone off. After getting out of the car. I immediately looked for Diana but a couple of minutes had passed but she was still not there. When she arrived, she was not alone, there were Two women dressed like her on her side talking andughing with her. I thought she said she was the only one who went shopping with her. ¡°Hi, Linda, there you are atst. We have been waiting for you for a long time. Let¡¯s go. Let¡¯s see what we can get here.¡± She took my hand and walked to Chanel. After entering, Diana let go of my hand and went straight to see the clothes. Her two good sisters went with her. I have to say that Chanel¡¯s clothes are really beautiful, and each one has been done with utmost care. I saw a silver wedding dress. It looks elegant. I stopped and forgot to follow Diana for a while. I was just looking at the dress. ¡°Miss, do you need to try this wedding dress? This is the only wedding dress made by hand with silver thread in the store.¡± The salesdy asked me. she saw me looking at the dress that is why she went to approach me. ¡°May I have a try?¡± I asked her. ¡°Yes.¡± The salesdy helped me take down the silver wedding dress and took me to the fitting room. I went inside the fitting room excited to try the dress. After changing into it, I looked at my eyes in the mirror, my eyes were glistening. Donald came back. He came to me leisurely in a ck suit, and then knelt down and took out a shiny diamond ring. ¡°Linda, will you marry me? I wanted to grow old with you. Please let me be the father of our future kids and please Let me guard you with my whole life.¡± I can¡¯t stop my tears from flowing. I was crying and smiling at the same time when I said my answer ¡°Yes¡± to him. He was just about to pull my hand to put a ring on me when Diana came and ruined the proposal. Diana looked at me angrily and said, ¡°I don¡¯t agree. I don¡¯t want you to marry my son! You are not qualified to be with him!¡± She pped me on my face hard. The pain on my face woke me up. It turned out that my colleagues had been patting my face and trying to wake me up. I touched my face and felt ayer of sweat. Fortunately, it was just a dream. Linda¡¯s POV I didn¡¯t go home after work, I just didn¡¯t want to see Diana. I didn¡¯t want to see her face at all. I didn¡¯t even want to breathe the same air as her. Well, that¡¯s below the belt and too much, but yeah, that is my point. So I decided to go over to Elena and take a bite at her new dessert. I haven¡¯t seen her for a while. I miss her so much. I miss her desserts. I could still remember when I asked her if being a pastry chef was hard. She said that from the outside looking in, being a pastry chef seems like a pretty sweet job. From developing and testing new and inventive dessert recipes to sampling some of the world¡¯s finest ingredients, confections, and sweets, there is, admittedly, much to love about a gig like this. But it¡¯s not all fondant, crepes, and cr¨¨me brul¨¦e. Being a pastry chef is a tough, challenging, and demanding role that only those who are truly dedicated to the craft can survive and thrive in. The restaurant kitchen is a ce that tests every milligram of your essence. A perfectly bnced recipe of humility, hubris, and actual skill is needed. So instead of me being interested in her career, my interest fell on the ground. I will just stick to what I have. I said that time. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard her voice. ¡°Hi, my friend, why do you look sad? Are you unhappy with your new boyfriend? Come and try mytest dessert, which specializes in unhappiness.¡± Elena hugged me and brought me a small cake decorated with several smiling faces, ayer of white cream, which I ate happily. It was sweet but not greasy, and it was still my favorite matcha vor. She really knows me and I am touched by what she did. I am really lucky to have her as a friend. ¡°It¡¯s delicious, and your craftsmanship is getting better and better. Can I bring more back to eat?¡± In fact, I don¡¯t like dessert much, but what she made is very to my taste. Every new product is very popr among others. I want to take some home and eat it if I am unhappy. I felt like when I ate this, I could at least forget about the monster inside the house. ¡°Yes, can you tell me what happened to you now?¡± Elena asked me. ¡°I have been living too irritably recently. I can¡¯t stand Diana living with me. She doesn¡¯t like me. She always thinks of various ways to bully me inexplicably. I haven¡¯t slept well for several nights. Donald is not around. What do you think I should do?¡± Should I try to deal with her, such as giving her rat meat? Put a bunch of reptiles on her bed? It sounds great, but I can¡¯t do it. After all, she is still my boyfriend¡¯s mother. ¡°Is she testing your kindness to her? Or is she bullying you for some purpose? You can also fight back properly!¡± She just doesn¡¯t want to see me. She doesn¡¯t want to see me with her son. What else can she do? What should I do? Chapter 16 ¡°I¡¯m too tired to fight with her every day. It¡¯s okay. I¡¯ll wait for Donald toe back. Hmm? Why isn¡¯t Dn here, whirring all day, and then he¡¯s not here to enliven the atmosphere today.¡± I smiled bitterly and stuffed a big piece of cake into my mouth. Hmm, it¡¯s so delicious that I can¡¯t stop eating. An Idea popped into my mind and my eyes brightened. ¡± Can I take you home? ¡± I asked her and I saw herugh. ¡°Hey, I¡¯m serious. Come on. At least, if you are there, you can help me and talk to me or drink with me.¡± I suggested but she didn¡¯t pay me any mind. ¡°Stop joking. What you are thinking is impossible. I have a job here and I¡¯m not your family. Furthermore, you are just boyfriend and girlfriend now, so you have no say. Even though you will beg him, I will still say no because that is just not appropriate. So stop.¡± She exined, stillughing. I am at a loss. What did she just say? She could just say no but she said a lot of things in a few seconds. ¡°And speaking of Dn, don¡¯t mention him. Recently, I saw him go out early and returnte. It is estimated that he went to where he worked to hide and work secretly. When I call him out on another day, I will also call you and we will go out together, okay? Cheer up.¡± Sheforted me. I¡¯m always so happy to be with them. Well, thinking about her career, I know that she worked for it. When I asked about it before, what she told me was that a pastry chef ismonly mistaken for a baker; though some tasks are very simr. Duties include baking and mixing ingredients to be used in pastries, pies, cakes, and cookies. They make sure oven temperatures are set correctly for baking and monitor the color of the baked item to judge if any adjustments may be necessary in temperature, humidity or conveyor equipment speeds. You need to be innovative, creative, detailed oriented, have an artistic eye, and have the ability to lead. They decorate certain pastries with zing, icing or other ingredients to make them appealing to the customer. They monitor the measurements, shape and cooking time of baked goods to ensure the sess of the product and ensure that they are appealing to the eye. However, the main difference between a pastry chef and baker is what they are responsible for. This material belongs to N?velDrama.Org. The word ¡°chef¡± is the main difference, it includes management, administrative duties, and leading a team in preparing pastries as well. Therefore they have a Pastry chef who has a greater responsibility in the management and interactions of staff, most of the time with a team of bakers. Pastry chefs create small quantities andplex desserts. Theplexity of these desserts leads them to spend more time decorating and preparing at times. They also work with restaurant chefs to pair desserts with meals being prepared or wines offered each evening. Pastry chefs use recipes or create new ones using their own creativity however, in addition they are still having to maintain records, order food, manage staff, and ensure food safety standards are being met. Most pastry chefs work in fine dining restaurants, bakeries, or bistros. Some even work in hotels and resorts around the country. They can work long hours and are on their feet most of the day. They work around ovens, stoves, and kitchen machines, therefore it can get very hot during the day. They work in a professional kitchen and are usually assigned a station amongst other members of the kitchen management. So I could understand her. I am just d that she pursued what she wanted and that she is happy now. They can spend time with me and cheer me up. Being with them is like the sun on a rainy day and a rainbow after the storm. They refreshed my mind and helped me take care of some things. They also know me so even though I will not tell them that something is wrong, they will know by just seeing my face. After tasting the delicious treats and dessert she gave me, I went on my way and wondered what I should do when I arrived at the house. When I was busy wondering, I saw a grocery shop on my way and a very nice idea came to mind. It was like a light bulb was lit inside. So without thinking much into it, I went inside and proceeded to my favorite aisle. What is it you say? My secret best friend of course. Alcohol. I went to get my favorite bottle, then some chips and chocte, then went to the cashier to pay for what I needed. ¡ª ¡°God, I¡ I¡¯m sorry, you know? Maybe it¡¯s my fault. I mean, I never thought she would torture you like that. You know, she¡¯s a little weird. I¡¯m so sorry. It¡¯s hard on you.¡± When I got home, I didn¡¯t care what Diana was doing. Instead, I drank alone and called Donald toin. ¡°Oh, it doesn¡¯t matter. I don¡¯t want to talk about your mother tonight. I want to talk about us. I miss you.¡± I¡¯m really tired when I get along with his mother. I¡¯m not so tired when I work part-time every day. I¡¯m still a little wronged. I really want Donald toe back. I want him to cheer me up and console me and I just want his presence beside me. ¡°I miss you too.¡± He said with a low tone of voice. ¡°Especially now, I am drinking alone, and I really want to hug you, lie in your arms, feel your generous chest, and I want to take off your clothes.¡± I shook the little wine left in my cup and fantasized about telling him. I miss his smell, the touch and feeling of his skin against mine. It¡¯s really true that you won¡¯t know what you have until it¡¯s gone. Well, it¡¯s not like that but it¡¯s the same. ¡°Really? Do you know what I would do if I were there?¡± From the other side of the phone came his maic and eager voice. ¡°What?¡± I asked jokingly. I enjoy talking to him like this. It was like his voice wasforting me in a kind of way. How much more if he is here? I could not wait. ¡°Oh, first of all, the appetizer¡¡± I was already flushed, waiting for his next sentence. ¡°Linda? Oh, why are you drinking here all by yourself and drinking so much.¡± Well, I was frightened by the sudden appearance of Diana, and the ss in my hand fell firmly to the ground and broke. ¡°Hello? What¡¯s the matter with you? What happened?¡± Donald¡¯s anxious voice rang on the phone. ¡°Nothing, your mother just came over.¡± I whispered to Donald. ¡°It¡¯s sote, don¡¯t drink any more. If it¡¯s bad for your health, go back to bed quickly. Oh, are you talking to Donald on the phone?¡± Drink to relieve my worries. What¡¯s wrong with my drinking? It doesn¡¯t hinder you. I need your permission to call my boyfriend. I dare not say these words. I canfort myself by secretly saying them in my heart. ¡°Yes. Honey, your mother wants to talk to you¡¡± I was speechless. Before I finished speaking, Diana robbed my mobile phone. I felt my heart bleeding. I didn¡¯t have a mobile phone. I felt like she robbed my phone. ¡°Honey.¡± ¡°Hello, Mom.¡± ¡°I can¡¯t really thank you both. Of course, I had the best time of my life.¡± The best time? Why can¡¯t I feel that this good time is based on my pain? Can you still let me live every day safely? With her, I almost became a full resentful housewife. ¡°How¡¯s Linda?¡± He asked his mother. ¡°Oh, she¡¯s a good kid, and we¡¯ve been good friends all week.¡± She smiled at me but I know that it is not authentic. ¡°Great, I feel very happy when I think of going home.¡± I heard the voice on the other end said. ¡°Oh, you never know what will happen in the future, do you? I really like these neighbors, and in fact, separated by two houses, one is being sold, it has two big windows, and a beautiful rose garden, and I like that garden very, very much. Basically, my name is everywhere, and I let my real estate friends go and see it.¡± While she was on the phone, she poured herself a ss of wine and enjoyed the call. I raised my hand weakly to get my phone back, but she ignored me. Chapter 17 Linda¡¯s POV The sun was shining when I opened my eyes. I blinked a few times to clear my sight and furrowed my eyebrows. Deciding that my sleep is enough, I stretch my hands and prepare to really wake up. I got out of bed to check my phone which was charged on the bedside table and check for the time. It is still early. Using my hands as ab tob my hair, I walked to the direction of the bathroom and washed my face. I looked at my face after, still beautiful, I said out loud. After I¡¯m done, I get my toothbrush and brush my teeth. My day started early and was wonderful and I really hope that this willst until evening. These past few days have been so tiring for me and I don¡¯t want to even talk about it. When I am done, I wipe my face with the white face towel hanging beside the body towel. I am ready to get my day started. Before I ate breakfast, I decided to just hang around the room for a bit. I am checking my social media ounts and just scrolling through my phone. After a while, I heard voices. ¡°Oh, dear, you are getting more and more beautiful. Are you looking for Donald? Come on.¡± This weekend, I was resting at home. Early in the morning, I heard a visitor. I hurried out of bed and saw someone through the door, Caroline? She was the one who had been messing with Donaldst time. Why did shee to the house? Wait, she seemed to be carrying something in her hand. Is this to please Diana while Donald is away? ¡°In a couple of days, there will be a group building activity in the hospital. Our group justcks one person. They asked me toe and ask Donald to go with us, so I don¡¯t think Donald will refuse.¡± I felt like that really is not the reason. Because of all their colleagues, why is she the one who let theme to Donald personally? There are many more reasons but I think she came here to take advantage of the situation. It seems that I have to go out and let her know that I exist. She is not paying attention to his real girlfriend. Still wearing pajamas, I just went to the living room with my hair long. If I dressed too carefully, she would think I was a guest. I deliberately walked past her and ignored her. ¡°Oh, is this your nanny? Why didn¡¯t you get up at this time? Don¡¯t you need to clean up the housework early?¡± I gave her a supercilious look, just let her see who I am, really blind, whose nanny dares to be sozy in front of the master? If I didn¡¯t pick her up, let her be arrogant for a while. I went to the bathroom to wash and dress. After a series of operations, she was still sitting there. ¡°As an ex-girlfriend, you should look like an ex-girlfriend. Donald owes you? Let youe here shamelessly every day. I haven¡¯t heard that he owes you anything. Whether you owe him or not is another matter.¡± She looked at me and wanted to say something to me. She blushed and was speechless when she heard me say what I had said. ¡°Ah? I just came to help the league building activities and called him. I didn¡¯t want to do anything. Don¡¯t get me wrong. I¡¯ll leave right away.¡± Her eyes were red, and I didn¡¯t even say anything. It was like I bullied her. Thest time I saw her holding Donald, there was nothing so fragile. Don¡¯t go at once, leave now, don¡¯t dirty my eyes. ¡°Linda, she is a guest. What are you doing so insolently? Besides, I think she is very simple and kind. It¡¯s okay, just sit down. You can leave whenever you want, regardless of her.¡± Diana took her hand as if she had seen her own daughter, and this time I was trying to get rid of her. If she can¡¯t get rid of her, let her go by herself. I used to squeeze her aside, I sat there with her, and she ate snacks on the table, so I wouldn¡¯t let her eat them. Anyway, I followed what she did, and I¡¯ll see how long she can endure it. ¡°Carolyn, let¡¯s go out for lunch. Go to the new restaurant that opened recently. I hear it tastes good. Linda, will youe with us?¡± Diana said calmly, she really refreshed my three views again, watching me run on Caroline. If she is not happy, then go out. Anyway, I am not happy with you two. ¡°Oh, dear, I won¡¯t go. Have a nice meal!¡± I tried to squeeze out a smile and looked at her. She asked me if I wanted to go. I couldn¡¯t have the cheek to keep up. Besides, I was also very busy and didn¡¯t have time to take care of the both of them. When I say busy, I mean, I am busy doing nothing. After breakfast, I am just sitting here on thefortable sofa. Watching or what I meant was I am listening to the television while ying with my phone. I am currently addicted to this game on my phone. It is an arcade-style game in which the yer controls the bird named p, which moves persistently to the right. The yer is tasked with navigating p through pairs of buildings that have equally sized gaps ced at random heights. p automatically descends and only ascends when the yer taps the touchscreen. Each sessful pass through a pair of buildings awards the yer one point. Colliding with a building or the ground ends the gamey. During the game over screen, the yer is awarded a bronze medal if they reached ten or more points, a silver medal from twenty points, a gold medal from thirty points, and a tinum medal from forty points. Currently, I only got twenty five points and I want to gain the tinum medal. I don¡¯t know, even though this game can get really frustrating, it also rxes me too. And even though it really is nothing when you get a high score, I can get the feeling of self content. I kept ying until I got so frustrated because the highest I got was only thirty. So I switched to a different game. This time, this is an action game online.C0ntent ? 2024 (N/?)velDrama.Org. The yer can shoot, crouch, sprint, throw grenades, aim, reload their weapons, leap over obstacles, knife enemies, change or pick up weapons, and use abilities supported by the equipped ss. A new key feature for this game is the ability to choose soldier sses ranging from Assault, Heavy, Sniper, Recon, Support, Bounty Hunter, Sapper, X-1 Morph, Kommander, and Marauder. Each of which has its own different perks and weapons, although a yer¡¯s ss does not prevent the yer from picking up different sses¡¯ weapons in-game. As the yer continues in certain sses and acquires a ¡°weapon score¡±, new guns and attachments to use in both the campaign and multiyer are unlocked. This time, I am hooked at the visual and quality of the game. I was in the middle of a really good fight when I heard a bang at the television which made me straighten up on my seat and my phone fell. With this, I lost my concentration and lost the game. I could just sigh in defeat. Maybe I need a rest. I thought. So I went back to my bed and just enjoyed the softness of it. It¡¯s reallyfortable at home, without seeing their faces. Iy on my bed againzily brushing my mobile phone this time since I am done ying. Before I met Donald, I once cast several hand-painted pictures on a painting manuscript tform called ¡°Let¡¯s Draw Together¡±. Now I open it and see that all the manuscripts have been submitted, and there are still messages to submit manuscripts. I thought it was not bad, and it was also a source of ie. Anyway, I have a lot of leisure time, so I should negotiate to ept the manuscripts. My experience as a painter is both hard and fulfilling. I realized that being a painter involves amitment to my work, and a willingness to make it one of my priorities. No one else can help me with this aspect, so ites entirely from within and must be something I truly know about myself. If I give it thought and decide that I am notfortable making this sort of deration, then the life of a professional artist is not for me, because that is a necessary part of being one. I am d that I persevered. Chapter 18 Another vitalponent of the professional artist¡¯s working life, like me, even though it is part time, is knowing who I am as an artist. That means being aware of my style and what suits me and what speaks to me, and what doesn¡¯t. This is not to say that experimenting with new things from time to time is a bad idea, or unprofessional in some way, such exploration can be valuable to my development as an artist. But even these experiments should fit into my overall style. I need a recognizable voice, one that represents me and makes me stand out from everyone else. That is why I really thought about what I should paint and make a portfolio or manuscript out of it. ¡°Your hand-painted renderings have beautiful and clear structure, real spatial scale and clear primary and secondary pictures. Our tform hopes to cooperate with you for a long time.¡± Thetest message was sent three days ago, which caught my attention. My hand-painted work for a long time was not wasted. ¡°Hello, I agree to cooperate with your tform for a long time, and hope to have a pleasant cooperation! Thank you.¡± I left a message three days ago, and now my reply is just right. Hey¡ ¡°Hello, can you make a draft offline?¡± A message pops up immediately, followed by a location map, which makes it convenient to submit manuscripts offline. ¡°Oh, if there is no conflict of time, it is okay.¡± I looked at the position away from me and drove for ten minutes, not far away. In this way, a long-term job was negotiated again. Ah, life is wonderful without Diana¡¯s noise. It was too contemptuous to think of Diana telling everyone at that family gathering that I was a temporary worker. I was financially independent, so what happened to temporary workers? She was speechless. She just lost her job recently and didn¡¯t like others. Elena and Dn wille over to my ce. Diana was not here, so we could have fun. We nned to y and just lodge around here all day while eating what we could have. Today is a cheat andzy day, as per Dn¡¯s statement. I am preparing for their arrival when they came. ¡°Oh, why isn¡¯t the old woman here today?¡± Elena asked me, looking at the tidy room. It was a mess when Diana was around. She bought pizza, burgers and desserts with her. ¡°It is because Caroline was here, they went to that new restaurant. She took Donald¡¯s ex-girlfriend out to dinner half an hour ago.¡± I answered Elena as I rummaged through the bag she brought. ¡°Ah? Is she going to help the third party? This is obviously ignoring you. This hateful dead old woman deliberately finds fault with you several times.¡± Elena was indignant for me, and I was d to meet her. Without her, where should I share myints with? I mean, maybe I could have a decent friend but I could not imagine myself talking to them like I talk to her. ¡°And she bought a house here?¡± She asked me curiously. ¡°Just two houses away, lovely house, beautiful windows, all nonsense, she doesn¡¯t even like her neighbors, God, I¡¯m exhausted, she¡¯s driving me crazy, I can¡¯t do it,¡± I said dismayed, lying on the sofa with a towel over my face. I won¡¯tst long if Diana goes on like this. Linda¡¯s POV ¡°You can. Don¡¯t be a big baby. Come on, you can do this. Donald is the best thing you¡¯ve ever met in your life. Linda, you can¡¯t give this up.¡± Elena came over to me, pulled me up as Iy down, and solemnly told me not to give up. Yes, Donald is the best person I have ever met in my life, and I can¡¯t be helpless any more. I need to be brave and do something about my situation. Who else could help me if not myself? I can¡¯tin to Donald every time. After all, she was his mother and it is natural for him to at least defend her or take her side from time to time. I know that. The thing about people is sometimes we don¡¯t get along. Yes, I know that. The world just doesn¡¯t work that way. When there¡¯s friction with friends or co-workers, it¡¯s easy enough to cut your losses and move on. But when you¡¯re talking about difficult inws, however, the rules of engagement are slightly different. Heaven knows that rtionships with inws provide plenty of fodder for the inte, not the least of which is an endless stream of jokes and stories about how mothers-inw ruin rtionships. I can¡¯t let that happen with me and Donald. I need to be strong too. ¡°Oh, it¡¯s okay, it won¡¯t do me much harm, and I won¡¯t always let her do that, rest assured.¡± I looked at her firmly. Every time I fought with Diana, I felt like a world war wasing. From now on, I will start to fight back. ¡°It seems that your dear mother has been watching you all the time.¡± When we heard Dn¡¯s voice, Elena and I both turned to look at him. He came down upstairs with a notebook in his hand, and his clothes and funny hat on his head were Diana¡¯s. She always had some strange clothes, and a middle-aged woman had a childlike heart.N?velDrama.Org content. ¡°What are you talking about? What are you doing with her clothes?¡± I couldn¡¯t bear it, Iughed and told him. Elena wasughing and leaning back and forth, but it looked like Dn looked like a cowboy in this dress. ¡°I just went upstairs and looked through her personal things in her room. I found these in her closet. She has been investigating you.¡± Dn pulled his hat off his head and came over to sit among us with his notebook. ¡°Oh, why does she have your study notes?¡± Elena looked at the contents of her notebook. It was a note I remembered. When she took it, I had no idea. ¡°And a picture of me on the beach?¡± I got a picture from it, which is also mine. ¡°Yes, I can¡¯t believe it, and the picture of you here. Look at this, it¡¯s very close, but you have to be very close to get it, right?¡± I didn¡¯t go to see Dn¡¯s photos again, but I felt that my heart was instantly poured with cold water, and she kept watching me and peeping at my life. No, I must go and see what Diana still has of me. I took Elena and Dn to her room, determined to find something. ¡°Look at these Gi brand things. They are all Gi, Gi. If only I had all these things.¡± Elena flipped through Diana¡¯s wardrobe, a cab of luxuries, which made Elena obsessed, and all the fantasies were hers. ¡°She also has top-notch creams, which cost $400 a bottle.¡± Dn got an expensive bottle of face cream on Diana¡¯s dressing table and held it up for us to see. It¡¯s not strange to see these luxuries in Diana¡¯s ce. ¡°I¡¯ve heard of it, and I want to try it.¡± Elena walked over excitedly, carrying Diana¡¯s Gi bag on her shoulder. Girls will be interested in brand cosmetics. ¡°Here.¡± Dn handed it to her. ¡°Oh.¡± Elena took a deep breath into the open bottle of cream. ¡°Does it smell good?¡± Dn wiped a little on his hand and smelled it under his nose. ¡°What is this?¡± Isn¡¯t Elena using that bottle of cream? What are these words? ¡°Those are her anxiety pills.¡± Kneeling on the ground and pulling a bottom drawer, I looked up at the medicine bottle in Elena¡¯s hand. Isn¡¯t that Diana¡¯s psychotropic medicine? I know that there are different types of medications used in the treatment of anxiety disorders, including traditional anti-anxiety drugs such as benzodiazepines, as I learned from working in a doctor¡¯s office. The drugs can provide temporary relief, but they alsoe with side effects and safety concerns, some significant and some are not. Of course, all drugs have side effects. These drugs are also not a cure. In fact, there are many questions about their long-term effectiveness. What¡¯s more, it can be very difficult to get off anxiety medications without difficult withdrawals, including rebound anxiety that can be worse than their original problem. I know some of that, since I asked Dr. Berthairest time. ¡°Oh, good stuff.¡± Dn took the medicine bottle, looked at it, and told Elena mysteriously. ¡°Really?¡± Elena looked at Dn admiringly, wondering what effect this medicine has. It can be so good. ¡°They can put down a horse, and I have it at home.¡± Dn twisted the cap of the bottle. The medicine was so effective that no wonder Diana had to take it to sleep peacefully. ¡°Really?¡± Chapter 19 ¡°Wait, I don¡¯t know what these are, but they are definitely not the medicines I have taken. They smell like oranges or something.¡± Dn poured out the pills in the bottle and sniffed them, saying they were not for anxiety. ¡°Are you sure?¡± I closed the drawer and stood up. It¡¯s not anxiety medicine? Howe? Then she didn¡¯t sleep in the middle of the night or pretended. Who can stand it? I still don¡¯t believe she wille to trouble me under the pretext of illness. ¡°Of course, I have eaten so much, how can I not tell?¡± Dn answered in the affirmative. ¡°Let me see.¡± I took the bottle of medicine and smelled it. I can¡¯t say anything, but I can ask my doctor friend to tell me. Isn¡¯t this Diana anxious pills? How can she take medicine at random? ¡°Hi, Andy, this is Linda. I¡¯m not working in Berthaire¡¯s office this week, but I have a question. Oh, it¡¯s about some medicine. Can Ie over?¡± Andy is my colleague in Berthaire¡¯s office. She should be off work by now. I can ask her for help. So with that, our n was canceled and I prepared to go out and meet with Andy. I immediately went to my bedroom and changed my clothes. I didn¡¯t even pay attention if it matches since I am in a hurry and I felt that it doesn¡¯t matter anymore. When I was done, I went outside and asked the driver to take me to the gate. From there, I hailed a cab. I am currently inside the cab and I felt like the time is not moving and we are moving at a very slow speed. ¡°Can we be faster than this, Mr. driver?¡± I asked the driver to hurry a little but of course, with great precautions. So with a nod, he stepped on the elerator and sped up. ¡°Urkk¡¡± I heard the sound of a car, forcing the break to be stopped. It¡¯s a good thing that I wore my seatbelt when I entered earlier. If not, I would have pulled by the inertia and been thrown outside. When I looked around, I saw a scene. There were a crowd of people in front and it looked like they were watching something on the ground. ¡°It looked like there was an incident Miss. Should we make a U turn or should we wait for the authorities to clean them up?¡± The driver asked. I am contemting whether to go back or wait. If we go back, it will take another 15 minutes then if we wait here, I don¡¯t know how long the police could control the situation. Seeing that the best course of action is to go back, I answered the driver then texted Andy that I will be a littlete. I don¡¯t know what to expect from me doing this. Should I just let my mother inw bully me or should I really fight back? I really don¡¯t mind her impression of me anymore. I just don¡¯t want Donald to be pressed in the middle in the future. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard my phone dinged. I received a reply from Andy that it was fine and that she would wait. I sent a simple thank you then drummed my fingers on my thigh to relieve some anxiety. Finally, the car stopped outside the building. So I quickly got my purse and paid the driver. ¡°Keep the change.¡± I said as I hurried out and almost ran inside. I went to Berthaire¡¯s office to find Andy and asked her to help me identify the ingredients and efficacy of the bottle of medicine. Andy said that it would take some time for the drug test toe out. Let me go home first, and she will contact me when the resultse out. I have a faint feeling in my heart, but I can¡¯t jump to conclusions without seeing the real results. Since there is time, it is no problem to wait. On my way back, I looked like I had no energy already. I just walked outside with no direction at all. I couldn¡¯t wait to get the results. I just walked until I found a shop. An ice cream shop to be specific. I immediately felt so thirsty but I knew that ice cream would not help at all. But I don¡¯t care. I felt like I needed the taste of an ice cream in my mouth and that I would just buy a bottle of water inside. ¡°Mom, hurry! I want an ice cream now!¡± I heard a voice of a girl shouting. When I looked at my back, I saw a little girl, I guess 6 years old, holding the hands of her mother and pulling her inside. ¡°Just wait a minute honey. Let¡¯s wait for your mama first okay?¡± The woman in her early thirties said with a soft tone of voice. ¡°But I want an ice cweam now.¡± The little one said with puppy eyes. This material belongs to N?velDrama.Org. ¡°Okay, let me just call her and tell her that we are here so that she will find us immediately okay?¡± The womanpromised. The little girl nodded vigorously with a smile on her face. I wish I was that innocent too. I just smiled at the scene then went to order an ice cream for myself. ¡± Hmm. ¡± I couldn¡¯t help but moan when the taste of strawberry and chocte hit my mouth. ¡°Is that vor delicious?¡± I heard a little voice beside me speaking. I was shocked that I almost jumped out of my seat then turned my head to look at the cute little culprit. It was the little girl earlier. ¡°Yes. Want to try?¡± I smiled then asked. She nodded her head again then opened her mouth. ¡°Want.¡± She said then pointed her little finger inside her mouth. Iughed then took a spoon of ice cream. ¡°Yum.¡± She said after I fed her some. ¡°Baby, what are you doing? It¡¯s her ice cream. Apologize, now.¡± Her mother saw her and said to the girl. ¡°It¡¯s fine, miss. Don¡¯t worry, I used a spare spoon and I really don¡¯t mind it since she is just so cute.¡± I said to thedy. She smiled at me and thanked me then together, they bowed to me and took their leave. I felt warm. ¡°Linda, I¡¯m not feeling well today, so Fitz is going to take me to see Dr. Chambein.¡± When I was cleaning my room, I heard Diana say she was going to see a doctor. The opportunity came at a good time. ¡°Well, take care.¡± I cleaned up in a hurry. ¡°Let¡¯s see where you have been.¡± I saw Fitz driving her away from the window, and I decided to follow them and find out if she was really not feeling well and went to see a doctor. Linda¡¯s POV I followed them all the way, wearing a pair of sunsses, afraid that they would be embarrassed if they were recognized. Sure enough, they just came to a clothing mall and didn¡¯t go to see a doctor. Diana and Fitz each carried several parcels in their hands, with smiles on both of their faces. ¡°Where is Prada City?¡± I heard Diana ask Fitz, turning her back. They were in the excitement of buying clothes and didn¡¯t notice me. ¡°Prada?¡± Fitz followed her, carrying a lot of things. ¡°You know, saying ¡®what¡¯ is also eptable.¡± I took off my sses, looked at the excited two people in front of me, and continued to follow them. I was sitting in the car outside, staring in one direction, where Diana was. ¡°Wait, Dr. Chambein?¡± I wiped my eyes and looked at them carefully. I saw Diana seemed to be flirting with Dr. Chambein or something, touching her face, talking andughing. Shouldn¡¯t they be in the hospital now? Ring¡ ring¡ ring. The ringing of the phone scared me to take back my eyes at them. I looked at my phone and found that it was Andy. I answered it immediately then my eyes went back to the people inside. ¡°Hello? Hello, Andy, have you found out what that bottle of medicine is? Chewing vitamin C, huh? OK, thank you.¡± Sure enough, I didn¡¯t wait for nothing, at all. I gritted my teeth and looked at Diana and Dr. Chambein. Oh, yes, and Fitz. It was incredible that the three of them joined forces to hide from me and others. Diana, who said she had anxiety disorder, had been taking vitamins that were harmless to her health. So, did she have any so-called anxiety disorder at all? So I went to the local library and checked about anxiety disorder. If there is also a disorder that one will fake their illness and what might be their reasons. Maybe, I can understand her or use it against her. We might not know. When I was there, I immediately went to the psychology section and checked for books. And sure enough, I found one. Chapter 20 ¡®Munchausen syndrome or also known as factitious disorder, is a rare type of mental disorder in which a person fakes illness. The person may lie about symptoms, make themselves appear sick, or make themselves purposely unwell. This type of mental disorder is most often seen in young adults and is considered a type of self-harm.¡¯ Hmm? So why are they doing that again? I thought. Then I continued reading. ¡®A person with Munchausen syndrome can be very convincing, which can result in doctors providing unnecessary treatment, such as medication or surgery. A person with Munchausen syndrome doesn¡¯t pretend to be ill for personal gain, such as prescription medications or money. Instead, the person is driven to behave the way they do forplex psychological reasons, including a strong desire for attention and sympathy. Often people with Munchausen syndrome have experienced childhood trauma.¡¯ Trauma? I don¡¯t think she has that. It may be because she wanted her son¡¯s attention and she wanted her son to always be on her side, but because of trauma? I don¡¯t think so. So basically, she wanted Donald to always listen to her and make him have no choice but to agree with her is what I¡¯m saying. With that thought, I closed the book I read then cleaned up the mess I made. I then hurried to get back home. When I got home, I found Diana¡¯s ¡°medicine¡± for anxiety disorder and left it with me alone. Now that it is not an anxiety disorder, I will give you some surprises and give you anxiety disorder. I have to do this. ¡°I know. I can¡¯t believe the wedding is only a week away. We can rehearse for thest time on Monday. Wait, I think I heard the sound of her car.¡± I¡¯m still on the phone, and she came back so soon. I see her walking so quietly, and the ability of women in the workce is very realistic in her, so I can¡¯t see any anxiety disorder at all. ¡°Woof woof woof¡¡± The sound of barking caught my attention when I was about to see her at the door. ¡°Ah¡ Linda, Linda¡ Linda! What¡¯s going on here? Why are there dogs in the house? Ah¡ don¡¯te over.¡± Diana had no sooner opened the door than she was greeted into the house by the dogs I had brought back, who were very polite and barked at her. Yes, I have brought home the dogs I used to walk. And the reason? Simple. It is because their owner asked me to walk them but I still have to do something here at the house so I brought them here. Actually, exercise is essential for all dogs. It helps keep them in shape but is really important for their mental health, too. It¡¯s so important that all dogs get a daily walk to keep them happy and healthy. Getting out and about keeps the dog¡¯s brain active and is great stress relief for them. Dogs love to sniff and explore so make sure your dog has plenty of opportunity to just¡ well¡ be a dog! Not getting enough exercise can cause health problems, such as obesity, but can also lead to behavioural problems. Bored dogs are unhappy dogs, they can show their frustration by chewing, barking a lot, toileting in the house and many more. So I had no choice but to take them with me. And when I was taking them back, an idea popped into my head so I smirked at the thought. ¡°Oh, dear, I¡¯m sorry, I have to bring them back today, they won¡¯t hurt anyone, you don¡¯t have to be afraid. Sit down, no more screaming, Zorro! Sit down!¡± Actually, I brought the dog home on purpose. At this time, I was making some ketchup in the kitchen. When I heard Diana¡¯s voice, I came out in no hurry. I didn¡¯t put down the ketchup spoon in my hand. When I walked to Diana, Zorro still barked at Diana. I pretended to be angry and told Zorro to shut up. I also ¡°identally¡± threw the ketchup in my hand on Diana¡¯s newly bought clothes. On her face, she instantly turned into a big cat. ¡°Oh, I just don¡¯t want to bark at you anymore. Is this dress expensive?¡± I smiled at her faint anger. ¡°Oh, yes, it was, so are you going to clean it for me?¡± Diana stared at me, wiped the ketchup from her face, got up, shook the sticky ketchup from her hands, and left. ¡°I¡¯m really sorry.¡± I made a face behind her and apologized to her. This is just the beginning, and then she will suffer enough. ¡°Oh, Linda, ah¡ take them away quickly.¡± She should have seen that her room was in a mess, and the screams made the birds that hadnded in the trees outside the courtyard fly away. To my credit, I have already put seven or eight dogs of different sizes in her room, as long as they don¡¯t bite, let them bite and make it. ¡°The prize is for you, good boy. Go, go.¡± I smiled downstairs as though I couldn¡¯t hear her, and thanked Zorro and the dogs for being obedient. I gave Zorro a bite of ketchup, took him to the restaurant and rewarded him. Let her deal with the dogs in Diana¡¯s room. ¡ª After the incident with the dog, I didn¡¯t see Diana walk out even after I already took the dogs home. So basically, I had a peaceful rest at home, without seeing her face all afternoon. Then I went back to the kitchen and decided to bake something. I thought for a minute and decided to make cookies, best for dessert and snacks. So I prepared my ingredients which are all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, butter, granted sugar, brown sugar, egg, vani, chocte chips and chopped nuts. First, I heat the oven to 375¡ãF. In a small bowl, I will mix flour, baking soda and salt then I let it set aside. In arge bowl, I beat softened butter and sugars with an electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with a spoon for about 1 minute or until fluffy, scraping the side of the bowl asionally. I then beat that in egg and vani until smooth. Then stir in the flour mixture just until blended. I also stir in chocte chips and nuts. When I am done, onto ungreased cookie sheets, I drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart. Then Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown, it will make the centers soft. Then cool for 2 minutes, remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Then I let it coolpletely, about 30 minutes. This material belongs to N?velDrama.Org. For best results, I baked the cookies on a middle oven rack. For even baking, it¡¯s best to bake one sheet at a time. The best cookie sheets are shiny aluminum with a smooth surface and no sides. They reflect heat, letting cookies bake evenly and brown properly. Rimmed baking sheets are excellent for many things, but not for cookie making. To ensure sess in baking, measure ingredients urately using the right measuring equipment for the ingredient being measured. For best results, add ingredients in the order they are called for. Chapter 21 The best way to measure flour is to first stir the flour a bit before spooning into the measuring cup. Fill until heaping, and then sweep the excess off the top with the t edge of a butter knife. Line t cookie sheets with parchment for easy cleanup. Be sure to give the dropped dough plenty of air space, so the cookies won¡¯t bump into each other as they spread. There is lots of baking science behind what makes a soft, chewy cookie versus a crisp, crunchy cookie. The ratio and type of sugars used, the amount of butter or shortening, and how much flour is stirred in all make a difference. That¡¯s what I learned from the pastry chef that I worked with a few months ago. I wipe the sweat on my forehead when I am finally done with a satisfied smirk on my face. ¡ª ¡°Well, hello, old friend. I really want to taste you slowly and bite by bite. I haven¡¯t touched you for so long, and you are more and more missing.¡± In the evening, Diana was holding a ss of wine and said affectionately. ¡°Diana, you mustn¡¯t mix medicine with wine. It could put your life in danger. You mustn¡¯t make fun of your body.¡± ¡°I¡¯m a little unhappy. You can imagine that in this case, I can only feel better if I drink. Please don¡¯t stop me, OK?¡± It¡¯s right that you are unhappy. I can¡¯te here for nothing. ¡°Oh, I know, I¡¯m sorry, but your doctor also said that if you feel unhappy, you should take medicine instead of drinking. Just rx and I¡¯ll get you medicine.¡± I took the ss in her hand, so I couldn¡¯t let her drink. I was afraid that she was drunk and couldn¡¯t control herself and began to go crazy. Compared with letting her drink to relieve boredom, I thought taking medicine was the most appropriate. I went to the table opposite her to fetch her medicine, with my back to her. I exchanged the real anxiety medicine I had brought back from Andy with the ¡°medicine¡± she had taken. ¡°Here it will make you feel better. Here, drink some water. I hope you will like my cooking, which is a special dish of my mother.¡± I handed her the medicine, and she ate it in her mouth without thinking. I gave her another ss of water and watched her swallow it. Next, it¡¯s time for her to try a dish I cooked for her myself. ¡°What¡¯s that?¡± She asked me, looking at a dish I put in front of her eyes with disgust. ¡°The internal organs are very delicate. Try them. They taste very good.¡± I told her with a smile. Linda¡¯s POV ¡°Does it look like something you¡¯ve never tasted, believe me, is a delicious te. Oh, by the way, Donald called, he¡¯sing back tomorrow, I can¡¯t wait, I¡¯m so excited, I miss him so much, I¡¯ve been thinking, maybe the three of us will have lunch together tomorrow, don¡¯t you think?¡± It was so powerful that within ten minutes of taking it, Diana began to be dizzy and shaking her head. I continued to say this to her, whether she could hear her clearly or not. Actually, my purpose was not to make her talk to me. ¡°Pa.¡± Diana waspletely dizzy and plunged into the tray of internal organs. ¡°Yes, I think it¡¯s a good idea, too. I¡¯ll do it. How interesting. Don¡¯t you like being friends?¡± I continued to talk to myself, and after I had packed up some tes, I smiled and walked over to Diana and pushed her hard to make sure she wouldn¡¯t wake up tonight. ¡°Good night and have a good sleep.¡± I turned off the lights, left the dining room, and left Diana to sleep alone in the gut te. I was really happy. I finally got a good sleep tonight. The next morning, because someone who had an appointment with the hand-painted tform wanted to meet, the meeting ce was a coffee shop not far away. I got up early to clean up. When I went out, I saw that Diana had not woken up and left her alone. ¡°Hi, Linda, isn¡¯t it? It¡¯s an honor to meet you. Please sit down.¡± A man in a suit and tie was sitting at a table by the window, with a cup of hot coffee in front of him. When he saw me walk past, he stood up, the gentleman stretched out his hand, shook hands, and then helped me open the chair. These actions were done in one go. When I sat down first, he called the waiter. ¡°Hello, another cup of coffee, please.¡± He ordered me a cup of coffee, too. ¡°Are you Baker, the person in charge of¡± Let¡¯s Draw Together ¡°? Nice to meet you. Do you need anything else for this offline meeting?¡± I looked at this man with a meticulous hairb and clear eyes, and my thoughts drifted far away. His eyes can talk and are very attractive. Just looking at his eyes is enough to make people move, not to mention his beautiful face. There is no shortage of beautiful people in this world, which makes people pleasing to the eye. ¡°Linda, Linda? What are you thinking? You understand what I just said.¡± I shook my head, he just said what, as if a word I didn¡¯t hear, should not be some important thing. ¡°Oh, yes, I see, I see, thank you.¡± If I didn¡¯t hear it, pretend to hear it first. It¡¯s a bit too deliberate to ask now. Anyway, there is contact information, so there won¡¯t be any problem. I picked up the coffee I didn¡¯t know when and pretended to drink it to hide my embarrassment. I secretly nced at him again, and fortunately, I didn¡¯t reveal it.Exclusive content ? by N?(v)el/Dr/ama.Org. ¡ª When we were done talking, I had no idea what to do next. I don¡¯t want to go home yet so I decided to just stroll around. I decided to go to the mall and check for anything my eyes would catch. I walked across a store full of clothes then I checked them out. I bought a dress that looked perfect then I went home. ¡ª A pair of orbs met mine when I opened my eyes. Full of admiration, love, longing and lust? I don¡¯t know. All I know is that my expression mirrored his with a little bit of confusion. Nevertheless, I can¡¯t take my eyes off of him. He is so handsome. Gorgeous even. From my eyes, he lowered his gaze to my lips and my eyes seemed to have a mind of its own to follow his action. I can¡¯t help but bite my lips on the sight. Very slowly, he leans in. ¡°What?¡± My mind shouted but immediately shut up when I felt his soft lips on mine. Mint was all I could think of. He did not move. Just pressed his lips against mine. Just a sweet kiss from a sweet guy. A simple kiss. Yet, it sends a million of electricity to my body and butterflies fly everywhere. Just when I thought he¡¯d withdraw himself from mine, he slowly moved his lips. I felt stunned. Wow, what is this feeling? I feel tingly all over. Just then, I felt a hand on my chin. He was then putting more emotion on his kisses. I don¡¯t know why but I think I understand. Like he¡¯s requesting me to respond. I don¡¯t wanna hold back anymore. With a soft bit on my lower lip, I finally felt myself move. I felt him smile on our kiss. So I put my hands on his shoulder following his pace. A slight moan escaped from him when I responded, or is it mine? I don¡¯t care. I like this feeling. I liked it that it¡¯s like our lips are molded for each other. While I was busy thinking how good this feels, I felt his right hand leaving my chin, now on my cheeks. His left hand on my side, gently stroking it up and down. Goosebumps. How can he make me feel this way? Right then, he gently removed his right hand on my cheeks. Tracing his hand on my chin, down to my neck then found its way to my side. Now both hands on my sides. All of that while we¡¯re still kissing. I could get used to this. Now, feeling more confident, he gently pushed me down until I¡¯m lying on my back. I felt a little bit disappointed and confused so I looked at him. Only to find his eyes staring back at mine, looking for any signs of hesitation from me. Without any words, he kissed me again. This time, with more passion. I couldn¡¯t help but moan against our kiss. My hands automatically went to his back without knowing. I then felt his knees in between my thighs. I suddenly felt so hot all over. Oh god it¡¯s like eighty degrees celsius here¡ Chapter 22 ¡°Hey.¡± I heard him whisper. Hearing my name leaving his mouth was so hot. ¡°Linda..¡± I heard it again, louder this time and why does his voice sound so foreign? ¡°Linda!¡± I immediately shot up from bed when I felt a hand shaking my shoulder and shouting my name. I looked at the culprit and saw a confused Elena looking back at me. ¡°Are you okay? I was about to wake you up but I found you groaning in your sleep so I thought you had a nightmare.¡± Oh it¡¯s a nightmare alright. I said to myself. What the¡ why am I feeling wet down there? What was that?! Knowing that Elena is asking me a question, I answered her truthfully. ¡°Yes, I¡¯m okay. Thanks for waking me up. I¡¯ll just wash up first then I¡¯ll follow you downstairs.¡± I said and then washed myself first. I already remembered why Dn and Elena were here. I invited them over to hang out here. Since we can¡¯t think of anything to do, we decided to watch some horror movies and do a movie marathon. We were busy preparing some snacks like popcorn, we also ordered some pizza and drinks. We chose a movie then switched off the lights. The pizza arrived shortly afterfortably settling on our seat. I¡¯m on my second slice when Elena broke the silence. ¡°I wonder what your boyfriend is up to right now.¡± My heart automatically beats faster at the mention of the name. Not wanting them to notice my reaction, I just stuffed the rest of my pizza in my mouth. ¡°Maybe busy with his flight.¡± I answered nonchntly. ¡°What!?¡± Dn asked. ¡°Uhm, I mean, he is scheduled to go hometer.¡± I said in a t tone. ¡°And you are still here?¡± Elena asked. Well, yes I am here. He will not go back untilter. ¡°Are you gonna get jealous if his ex-girlfriendes back?¡± She asked, maybe because she is just curious. ¡°Depends.¡± I just said and with that, our conversation ended. ¡°I¡¯m craving some hot pot.¡± Dn suddenly said, chewing his popcorn. We were in the middle of the second movie when he said that. ¡°Do you want to go out?¡± Elena asked after a few seconds. I thought for a while, we have nothing to do and I am getting bored of the movie. Why not go out then eat and y outside? ¡°Do you have a ce in mind?¡± I asked them. They thought for a while then when they thought of a ce, we left the house. ¡ª ¡°Fitz, is that you?¡± When I got home at noon, I saw Fitz sitting beside Diana, staring at Diana, who was still still. She didn¡¯t wake up. It seemed that she had to prepare more of this medicine. ¡°It¡¯s me, here.¡± ¡°God, is she all right? I thought she went to bed. Why did she sleep here? She didn¡¯t sleep like this all nightst night.¡± I told Fitz disapprovingly that I wouldn¡¯t admit that I put her here. ¡°I don¡¯t know, I¡¯ve never seen her like this. Since ¡®Viewpoint¡¯ won the Emmy Award, I saw her sleep so dead for the first time. Did you drink too much wine?¡± Said Fitz, pulling at Diana¡¯s hair, which had been stuck in her gut tray, and frowning ¡°I wish I could stay and help, but I have to meet Donald at the airport. Can you take care of her? What?¡± I poured myself a ss of water and watched Fitz make my request. ¡°I underestimated you, you don¡¯t need a gun.¡± Fitz looked at me with satisfaction, but at the same time a little surprised. ¡°I don¡¯t know what you are talking about. I¡¯m going out now, and Diana will be left to you, thank you.¡± I took a sip of the water in the cup and smiled, but this thing still didn¡¯t beat me. After receiving Donald, I went to the restaurant to book a ce together. When Diana came to have dinner together, while we were all here, we should have a good talk about our marriage to Donald and some ¡°illness¡± about Diana. ¡°I¡¯m so d my mother had a good week with you.¡± Donald took me by the hand. Maybe I haven¡¯t seen him for a long time. I came forward and hugged him tightly. I missed him so much. I would tell him that I had a good time with his mother and were like good friends. ¡°It is true that I have learned a lot from her, but today there is a guesting to dine with us.¡± Donald and I were fascinated and didn¡¯t tell him that his mother woulde to dinner with us today, but Diana really taught me a lot of knowledge. It¡¯s not too good to learn and use it now. I pray that Diana won¡¯t cause any trouble today. ¡°Oh, surprise.¡± Donald was taken aback when his mother hurried over. ¡°I thought your colleague said we had lunch alone.¡± Donald stepped forward and hugged Diana excitedly. ¡°I hope you¡¯ll forgive me. I just, I want to talk to you and Donald at the same time.¡± I looked at Diana¡¯s haggard appearance, and I was full of indifference. She deserved it.This material belongs to N?velDrama.Org. ¡°Mom, are you all right? Why does it seem that the mental state is not very good?¡± Donald cares about his mother. ¡°It¡¯s okay, even though I didn¡¯t sleep wellst night.¡± I can¡¯t see how tired Diana is under her sunsses. She won¡¯t tell Donald that I bullied herst night, just saying that she didn¡¯t sleep well. ¡°Oh, maybe you haven¡¯t sobered up after drinking too much martinist night.¡± I thought about it and said that she just wanted to drinkst night, but I stopped her and gave her medicine. [Linda¡¯s Perspective] ¡°Mom, you shouldn¡¯t drink. Drinking while taking your meds is not good.¡± Donald told his mother with concern. He said that towards his mother because of myst statement. He then turned to his mother and said ¡°Please try to be more careful with your health mom. This really makes me worry.¡± His eyes almost pleaded. ¡°Okay, son. I will be more careful and more attentive with my health from now on ¡± Diana said. Donald then turned to me and said ¡°Thank you for being attentive towards my mom¡± ¡°That¡¯s no big deal. It¡¯s the least I can do¡± I said and smiled. Since everyone seems to be in the mood, I took this opportunity to apologize to Diana. ¡°In fact, I wanted to apologize to you Diana.¡± I started off. ¡°I¡¯m so sorry for not asking for your opinion while we were looking for a wedding nner and getting ready with other wedding preparations. I know that you wanted to help.¡± I reached out to hold Diana¡¯s hand. I wanted her to know and feel my sincerity. And I felt that with Donald around, she would not refuse to ept my apology. ¡°Oh! It¡¯s okay. That happened a long time ago. You should forget about it. I know you can do better at things like those. I mean, a young bride wouldn¡¯t want to listen to an old widow, right?¡± Diana replied I clenched my hand under the table while I squeezed her hand that I held. I can¡¯t believe she actually threw some shade at her statement. But, I came prepared. I knew she was going to say something like this to destroy my image. ¡°Oh my! That is nonsense, Diana. I would never do that to you.¡± I looked at Diana, straight in the eyes. ¡°After all, you¡¯ll soon be my mother too¡ and in the future, a grandmother to our children. So, I would do anything to keep our rtionship good¡± I continued. ¡°With that said, would you like to be one of my bridesmaids, I mean, my maid-of-honor to be exact?¡± I asked with my softest voice. Knowing that our rtionship is not all good, I think she misunderstood what I meant when I told her that she¡¯ll be a mother to me and a grandmother to my kids. I think that she thought I was already marking my territory. I understand that she does not want her son to get hurt but I am not here to hurt Donald, I am here to add more love that he receives. That is why I thought about this suggestion carefully. I want our rtionship to progress. I don¡¯t want it to remain cold and stiff in the future. I sincerely want to be a good daughter inw to her and a good wife to Donald so I want us to have a good start. I sincerely hope that she can be my maid of honor at the wedding. Chapter 23 ¡°Linda¡ letting my mom be your maid of honor is just¡ incredible.¡± Donald said, somehow a loss of words. ¡°Mom, what do you think?¡± Donald turned to his mom. I am so d that Donald supported my idea and did not reject it that much. With his help, Diana is one step closer to agreeing with being my maid of honor. ¡°But, uh¡ I¡¯m too old to be a bridesmaid.¡± Diana tried to reason out. ¡°I think it would be better if Elena is your maid of honor.¡± Diana added. I honestly don¡¯t care about those factors. I mean, there is no rule that says someone old cannot be my maid of honor anyway. In my opinion, being a bride¡¯s maid of honor can make you really close to each other. Diana being my maid of honor is my best shot at trying to fix our rtionship that started with the wrong foot. I cannot lose this opportunity to make our rtionship better. ¡°Oh, no, she has given you the title with great grace. How could you refuse?¡± Elena asked. ¡°To be honest, Linda even made me prepare a dress especially for you. It¡¯s a dress made in your favorite color ¨C pink!¡± Elena squealed excitedly. ¡°Come and try it on. ¡°Elena added while motioning Diana to take the box of the dress. Diana kept shaking her head in denial but she epted it after a little bit more of persuasion. She took out the dress from the box and lifted it up towards her shoulders. ¡°Oh, this is¡ Linda, I¡ This dress, I don¡¯t think I can do it.¡± Diana said. She could not even find the right words to express her amusement. Maybe it¡¯s because she did not expect me to prepare clothes for her in advance. The dress was light pink in color. It was silky and it ended right above her ankles. The top of the dress was strapless and it had a sweetheart neckline to show a little of her shoulders. While the skirt was covered with little white flowers. The gown was really nice and stunning. So I do not understand why she is still refusing me. ¡°Mom, I think this is a good idea.¡± Donald agreed with me. ¡°I just don¡¯t think I can do it. I really can¡¯t. I have to talk to my doctor first. Being one of the most important people in your wedding is not a joke. My illness hasn¡¯t fully recovered yet so I¡¯m afraid that I might ruin your wedding if I push through. This is an honor but I can¡¯t do it. You¡¯d better change to Elena.¡± Diana replied. Diana has rejected me for the third time and now she is using her illness as an excuse. ¡°Oh! That¡¯s no problem Diana. I¡¯ve already called your doctor earlier and he said it¡¯s a good idea. He said that it can even help you ovee your illness.¡± I immediately shunned her. I felt so rejected and it hurt. In reality, Diana does not even have symptoms at all. She is faking everything to get Donald distracted. Her attending doctor is lying to everyone and I am aware of that so she can¡¯t fool me anymore. ¡°You called my psychiatrist?¡± Diana asked dumbfounded. Diana leaned on the table with one elbow, finally took off her sunsses and looked at me a little unhappy. I know that she did not expect me to go to her doctor and ask him directly. ¡°Oh, actually, we had lunch yesterday.¡± I told her boldly. ¡°He even said that, considering that this is a turning point in your life, this would be the best treatment that you could go for. It is because you suddenly lost so much, so being involved in things that grow and move forward is good therapy for you.¡± I continued. ¡°Do you know what? I can assign you a whole list of things to do tomorrow. You can help us with the wedding preparations.¡± I suggested. ¡°There are a lot of things left to do. Since marriage is an important asion, we want a lot of our friends and family to attend and witness us saying our vows to each other, together.¡± I finally said. Besides all of our rtives and friends, I actually n on inviting Diana¡¯s attending doctor. Even though he and Diana lied about her illness, I still somehow find him as a good person. I saw this when we had lunch yesterday. As Diana listened to what I said, I noticed that she prepared to fake an anxiety attack. She took her bag and ced it on top of the table. She hurriedly rummaged inside to look for her bottle of medicine. When she found them, she took them right away. Diana does not know that I have switched her fake anxiety medicines with the actual real ones. These are the ones she took yesterday, and knocked her out. I giggled silently inside. I felt happy knowing that what happened to her yesterday would happen again today, any moment now. She can reject me all she wants but I am not backing down that easily. I want her to be my maid of honor so I would do everything to make that happen. ¡°No, I don¡¯t, I don¡¯t want to do those tedious things.¡± Diana said. After saying those words, she began to cry. But it was so obvious that she was just acting. She wanted Donald¡¯s attention on her again. She wants us to pity her again. When Donald saw his mom crying, he hurriedly stood up and went to her side. ¡°Mom¡e on, mom, don¡¯t cry¡± Donald tried to soothe her. ¡°Here, use this.¡± He took out his handkerchief and handed it to her tofort her. As she was about to reach out and get it, I set out a small sob. ¡°Linda.¡± Donald turned to look at me, and my eyes were red.C0ntent ? 2024 (N/?)velDrama.Org. He quickly retrieved his hand holding the handkerchief and ced it on his side. Diana missed to get the handkerchief. ¡°Don¡¯t mind me Donald. I¡¯m okay.¡± I told him while waving my hand at him. ¡°Linda, no, please¡¡± Donald said in a worried tone. ¡°I thought I wouldn¡¯t be so emotional. Sorry, I just cannot hold it back anymore.¡± After sayingthat, I felt tears running down my cheeks quickly. I wiped them using my fingers then I covered my face with my hands. After that, I acted to cry harder, making my shoulders slightly shake. I smiled devilishly inside. If Diana wanted to y this game again, then I am up for it. If she wanted to get Donald¡¯s sympathy through her crying tactics, I can do it too. I would never let her win so easily. I can be as sly as her. ¡°Mom, I¡¯m sorry but Linda needs me too.¡± Donald whispered to his mother. Donald stood up from where he was and approached me. I felt him give me a warm hug. Later on, he lifted my face up so he could see them. He shoved the stray hairs on my face and tucked it in my ear. He constantly and gently tapped my back to soothe me. While I was looking down, he offered his handkerchief to me. ¡°Thank you baby, I love you.¡± I said as I wiped my tears and looked at him with relief. The feeling felt nice. I felt that whatever Diana does, for Donald, I will alwayse first. I was his priority. ¡°I love you too.¡± Donald took my hand. I gave him a small smile. ¡°I love you too.¡± Diana¡¯s voice rang in the room again. ¡°Mom, I love you too.¡± Donald said, reassuring his mom. Later, he motioned me toe closer to Diane. We sat close to each other but we were one meter away from each other. Donald then sat in between both of us. He held my hand with his left hand and he took Diana¡¯s hand with his right hand. ¡°I love both of you. You should remember that always.¡± Donald started to speak. ¡°But I do not feelfortable with both of you crying over a petty thing.¡± He continued to say. ¡°Linda, I know that you badly want mom to be your maid of honor but please understand that if she feels like she can¡¯t, then we have to adjust¡± He said while looking at me. ¡°Mom, if this upsets you so much, then just say so. You don¡¯t have to say multiple reasons to avoid the situation. You have offended Linda very much today. She is just excited to do the wedding with you. Please understand that too.¡± He turned to say to his mother. Chapter 24 After Donald said that, I suddenly came up with a good idea. Taking advantage of our ¡°crying¡± opportunity, I asked Donald to leave us alone for a moment. ¡°Donald, you know what? Why don¡¯t you leave your mother and me alone for a while?¡± I said. ¡°Are you sure?¡± Donald asked. ¡°Yes, I think we do need to talk, son. Privately¡± Diana replied. ¡°Let us just talk things through between us.¡± I added. ¡°Okay then. As long as you two are okay, then I will give you the space you need¡± Donald said. He let out a heavy sigh as if he ran a whole kilometer. I know he felt helpless with our whole crying act. He did not know who to attend first. Before leaving us alone, Donald leaned close to his mom and gave her a kiss on the cheek. After that, he turned to me and gave a kiss on my forehead. ¡°Call me when you are both done talking, okay? I love you.¡± He said again before leaving us for good. [Linda¡¯s Perspective] Immediately after Donald left the room, we both straightened out ourselves and threw our disguises out. We looked straight in each other¡¯s eyes. There is obviously tension in the air. I broke the silence. ¡°You know, crying makes people old.¡± I said while smirking I cried over the pear blossoms with rain a while ago but I am ready to give out sassy remarks now. I know that Diana is mad at me right now for making her look like a fool in front of her own son but I was tired of all her dramas. ¡°As far as I am concerned, I know that Donald likes skinny girls, just like Caroline.¡± Diana replied. ¡°In other words, you are not Donald¡¯s type¡ because you are neither skinny nor tall. You should leave him while it is still early or do me a favor by staying away from him.¡± Diana continued while gritting her teeth. She did not even show a hint of shame with what she said. I am Donald¡¯s fianc¨¦ yet she still treats me like an outsider. How could she ask me to leave Donald? Why does she even alwaypare me to Donald¡¯s ex-girlfriend? I let out a frustrated sigh. She is testing my patience so how could I give up?Exclusive content ? by N?(v)el/Dr/ama.Org. ¡°Oh, well, I can undergo liposuction surgery.¡± I answered back at her. I am not really sure if I would like to undergo a liposuction surgery in the future. I am afraid that it would hurt a lot. Although I am a little fat, I still consider myself sexy. After all, I am not as fat as you think I am. My body still has good proportions so I don¡¯t really mind. As for Caroline, I think that she should start eating more. She looks like a walking stick. When you hold her, you can feel her bones right away. Being too thin is not necessarily good for her. ¡°Being your maid of honor is a great responsibility, but I will not do it. I know that the only reason you brought it up was because Donald was present.¡± Diana smirked. ¡°Just change your maid of honor into someone else but me. If you insist, I might make your wedding a nightmare¡± Diana proudly continued. ¡°Well, you know what they say, keep your friends close but your enemies closer.¡± I rebutted. ¡°Listen here Diana. You cannot do anything to keep me away from Donald. Didn¡¯t you see what he did earlier? He chose me right? ¡ Over you¡± I told Diana while pointing at her. ¡°It¡¯s simply because he loves me more than you. Donald is going to be my husband. Whether you like it or not. You can go ahead and sabotage everything, so that when Donald figures out who messed with everything, he would be mad at you.¡± I dared Diana. She could not say a word. It seemed like she contemted everything I just said. Her eyes were unfocused and unstable. She was panicking. ¡°Oh, so you decided to keep quiet now. I bet you don¡¯t even have anything witty to throw at me.¡± I teased. She still did not say a word. She just red at me. ¡°Well, let me tell you my n so you can stop imagining things.¡± I started again. ¡°After the wedding, I would settle down with Donald. By then, you are going to tell Donald that you are going to move elsewhere. You will tell him that the reason you are going is because you feel that it is time for you to focus on yourself and that you want to live alone to have peace of mind. You will move out and its game over.¡± I continued to say. I looked at her with intensity. I want her to know that when Donald bes my husband, she will be kicked out of here. Diana clenched her fists. She was clenching them so hard, her knuckles are almost white. Finally, Diana decided to speak. ¡°It is not over, until I say it is over. Donald will never agree to your n. He loves you, yes, but I am still his mother. Let¡¯s just see how far both our acting skills can go.¡± Diana said fiercely. Oh so she¡¯s going to manipte Donald¡¯s feelings again? Well, I am not going to make that happen. I think that after this stunt, I can already be given an Oscar award for being the best actress. ¡°Bring it on then. I am sure that Donald would pick me over you anyways. All I can say is good luck with your acting.¡± I replied. It was obvious that what I said made Diana more irritated. She doesn¡¯t like it when I fight back. She feels intimidated. She is really getting on my nerves so I said things that would throw her off. To be honest, I don¡¯t mind fighting with her every day. As long as I know I am right and she is wrong, I will never back out. After what I said, she stood up from her seat and she walked away with her assistant Fitz. She was stomping her foot loudly like a kid having tantrums. As I watched her walk away, the box of her dress caught my eye. I hurriedly followed them from behind. I saw Fitz sit on the driver side while Diana sat opposite to Fitz. Before Fitz could start the car, I shouted. ¡°Wait a second. I think you forgot something.¡± Fitz looked at me and waited. When I got close enough, I stuffed the dress of the box directly into Diana¡¯s arms. ¡°You almost forgot your dress. You will have nothing to wear at the Wedding if you don¡¯t take this. You don¡¯t want to go naked don¡¯t you?¡± I told Diana jokingly. Her face got more distorted. She was already furious. ¡°Maybe we can find you a nice hat to go with it.¡± Fitz looked at the dress and said to Diana. I almost chuckled at Fitz¡¯s remark. ¡°Okay, that¡¯s all. Goodbye.¡± I told them again. Fitz started the engine and they were about to speed off. ¡°Oh, and Fitz, thank you for waiting.¡± I looked towards Fitz and smiled. Fitz nodded and looked at me with satisfaction. ¡°See you at the rehearsal party.¡± I said again before they drove off. I did not go back right away when they left. I stayed and waited for them until they disappeared on the corner of the street. When they were close to making the left turn, I saw them stop for a while. Later on, I saw that the dress I just gave to Diana flew out the window andnded on the ground. After that they drove off again. When I saw Diana throw the dress away I wanted to run after her and stuff it right back at her. How could she? I had that made especially for her. I know that she is mad but how dare she cut off my efforts that easily. I mean, at least I am trying to fix our rtionship. Days passed after that night and it was already the day of my rehearsal party. I woke up early today to get ready for my rehearsal party. At around 8:00 AM, I made toast with egg and bacon for breakfast and I paired that with my favorite cup of coffee. After that, I washed the dishes and then proceeded to take a bath. After taking a bath, I put my jeans and shirt on and went out for a ride around 10:00 AM. I went out to get my dress for the rehearsal. When I got my dress, I went to my favorite salon to get my hair and make-up done. I finished just before lunch so I decided to go find a restaurant. Chapter 25 Lately I have been craving to eat some pizza and pasta so I decided to go to an Italian restaurant. When I got to the restaurant, I looked for a vacant seat and called the waiter. ¡°Hi, can I get the menu please? Thank you¡± I told the waiter. He then went to get the menu and handed it to me. ¡°Call me when you are ready Ma¡¯am¡± he politely told me. I scanned the menu and I wanted to get a lot off of it. It was so difficult to choose. I was contemting on getting the 5 cheese pizza and Carbonarabo or the pepperoni pizza and spaghettibo. Later on, I decided to get the 5 cheese pizza and Carbonarabo and paired it with a strawberry milkshake. I felt so satisfied that I was able to eat what I craved. After eating, It was already half past one so I went home right away. I changed into my dress and drove to the location where my rehearsal party is going to take ce. When I got there, a lot of people were already waiting. Most of my friends and family were already present. I got excited and at the same time, nervous too. I scanned the crowd for Donald. After some time, I found him. When our eyes met, I smiled from ear to ear. ¡°Hey baby¡± I greeted him. ¡°Hello baby. What took you so long?¡± He asked. ¡°I¡¯m sorry. I got a little carried away with eating lunch today.¡± I reasoned out. Donald gave out a small chuckle. ¡°Oh. I see¡± he said. After our little talk, the organizers were already asking us to get ready. Donald and I went to the back to get our clothes fixed and get a little retouch. When we were done getting ready, Donald approached me. ¡°Are you okay?¡± Donald asked me. ¡°Yeah. I¡¯m good. I¡¯m just a little nervous.¡± I replied. ¡°Why? Is it because of all these people?¡± He asked while smiling. ¡°Yeah I guess so.¡± ¡°You don¡¯t have to worry about anything baby. Everything is in order.¡± Donald said, trying tofort me. A moment of silence passed before he asked again. ¡°Are you and my mother all right?¡± ¡°Yeah, I guess we are good. I mean, at least we are not fighting¡± I told him honestly. ¡°Oh. Okay. Just be a little more patient baby, please?¡± He told me. ¡°Yes. I promise I will. She will be my mom too after all.¡± I looked at him and smiled. After that, Donald and I went to our ces and the rehearsal party started. ¡°Hello and Wee to the rehearsal party of Linda and Donald¡± Diana¡¯s voice rang through the whole venue. She was in charge of the opening remarks. Everyone apuded as she spoke. After her remarks, the rest of the rehearsal went on smoothly and after some time, we were already finished. Of course, after the rehearsal, the partymenced. When Diana¡¯s hosting for the rehearsal was done, she went off the podium. When she got off, I could hear everyone talking about her. I looked at her and immediately understood why people were talking. Diana dressed up for this event. She looked stunning in her cream gown. It fitted her perfectly. It had short sleeves and a v neckline which emphasized her neckline. Her hair was also loose and straightened. It ended right above her shoulders. That is why almost everyone¡¯s eyes were on her, and she became the focus of tonight. ¡°God, she looks so beautiful.¡± Dn, who was standing next to me, said. ¡°I know.¡± Elena agreed. She was also right beside me. Both my friends looked at her andmented on her appearance nicely. I cannot believe what I just heard. I wanted to cover my ears. ¡°What?¡± I asked both of them. None of them answered me. They just brushed it off. A little whileter, I could hear her greeting other guests. ¡°Oh. Hi. It¡¯s good to see you here.¡± She greeted one of the guests. ¡°Hi Enoch, I am d you could make it.¡± She said to one of Donald¡¯s friends. Later on, she approached us. ¡°Oh, Elena. Hi. Thank you for being here today.¡± She greeted the others and went to Elena and them. ¡°Oh, of course.¡± Elena looked very excited. She obviously didn¡¯t expect Diana to say hello to her. Watching their encounterstarted to make me emotional. I don¡¯t get why she is acting all friendly towards Diana today. She stood up for me when we fought days ago so what happened? After greeting Elena, she looked at Dn. ¡°So, you must be Dn¡± Diana said with a smile while reaching out to Dn for a handshake. ¡°Ah. Yes. That is me.¡± Dn answered. ¡°I¡¯ve heard about your delicious dinner service. I would rmend you to a lot of my friends.¡± Diana said again. ¡°Oh really? Thank you!¡± Dn answered excitedly. ¡°Yes, I have heard great things about you from Linda.¡± She told Dn while giving me a meaningful look Diana exchanged pleasantries with them to please my friends. She knows that I do not like what she is doing with my friends right now. And she is obviously satisfied with seeing me ufortable. I guess the older you get, the more confident you are. ¡°Oh, Miss Field, I must say¡¡± Dn was overwhelmed with excitement. ¡°Please call me Diana, I insist that you call me Diana.¡± Diana cut him off. I could not take what I was hearing. ¡°Well, I¡¯m going to get something to drink. Do you want some?¡± I suddenly asked them. ¡°Yes please. Thank you Linda.¡± Dn answered. He only said yes but he did not even move an inch at where he is at. I was starting to get a little annoyed. ¡°Okay¡± I replied coldly. I left and got us drinks. When I came back, Diana and my friends were still talking. ¡°I am an avid fan of yours, and I am really happy to see you in person.¡± Dn looked at Diana with a big smile on his face and said that. ¡°Oh, you are adorable. Thank you.¡± Diana pinched Dn¡¯s chin and smiled and was ready to leave. ¡°Thank you. Goodbye, Diana.¡± Dn said. Diana waved her hand and left. ¡°I really like her.¡± Dn said to Elena. ¡°Oh you like her Dn?¡± I asked him sarcastically. ¡°Linda¡¡± Dn tried to say something. ¡°Did you have a good talk just now?¡± I asked both of them again with a hint of jealousy. ¡°Oh dear, she came up and chatted with us, what do you want us to do, turn a blind eye?¡± Elena looked at me and said. It is obvious that she liked Diana too. ¡°That¡¯s right. That is what I wanted you to do.¡± I told them frankly. I just really don¡¯t want my friends to like people I don¡¯t like. It is heartbreaking. [Linda¡¯s Perspective] ¡°Linda, we just entertained her because she approached us first. We did not want to be rude.¡± Dn exined further. ¡°Okay, okay. Fine.¡± I told them, epting defeat ¡°Since you are okay with the topic, then it¡¯s no problem to ask for her picture right?¡± Dn ask again Dn really makes me sad right now. I made it very clear that I wanted them to turn a blind eye but he even wants a picture with Diana. I felt my chest tightened. In the end, I didn¡¯t say a word and just red at Dn. ¡°I also want a picture with her, Dn.¡± Elena then added. I could not hold my jealousy and anger anymore. ¡°Which side are you on? Did Diana send you to torture me? How can you say such a thing in front of me?¡± I looked at Dn at Elena sadly. I sincerely felt betrayed. The two of them felt different about Diana when we fought but now, after greeting her it seemed like they changed. These two ¡°friends¡± of mine made me want to cry. ¡°I am on your side dear. I won¡¯t leave you alone. Just to be clear, I¡¯m just a fan of her, okay? But you are my friend so I will always choose you¡± Dn exined. ¡°But you know I don¡¯t like her, Dn¡± I rebutted. ¡°Yes. I know, but that does not mean we should hate her too.¡± I can¡¯t believe what Dn just said. So, am I the viin here? ¡°Don¡¯t worry Linda. I promise you that you would always have me on your side. So, can I get the photos now? Dn asked again. He asked that while making a funny face hoping that I would agree. I closed my eyes for a moment and let out a deep sigh. I know that he will not give up until he gets that photo. That is why I am afraid that if I say no, Dn would probably hold that against me.N?velDrama.Org content. ¡°Oh, you don¡¯t have to promise me anything Dn. I know that you don¡¯t care about my feelings anyway. Just go ahead and take the photo.¡± I pretended to be mad. Chapter 26 ¡°Come on Linda¡You know that is not true¡± Dn said with puppy eyes. I almostughed and blew my cover. That is just how Dn is. Dn never fails to make meugh. He always does things to make me smile and have a good mood. I cannot even be angry at him for a long time because of that attitude but my heart still ached. ¡°I know that you two have tried to help me torment Diana too. But this just does not feel right with me.¡± I turned to them and exined. Dn and Elena¡¯s face fell. They knew I was not joking with them at all. ¡°I¡¯m sorry but you two are honestly pissing me off. You can go ahead and do what you want.¡± I said and walked away. As soon as I turned my back at them, Dn tried to catch up with me. ¡°Oh, Linda, No.¡± I heard Dn say. ¡°Don¡¯t Dn. Let her be. Let us give her some time.¡± Elena stopped Dn. After hearing that, I walked faster towards the exit. I was so pissed and hurt at the same time. I did not know how to deal with these feelings anymore, it is just so overwhelming. I could not bear dealing with my friend¡¯s request. Today is my wedding rehearsal party but I am not happy at all. This is supposed to be a momentous asion. This is supposed to be my day. I could not understand what I was feeling anymore. I felt so lost at my own wedding rehearsal party. I was supposed to be the star of this show but sadly I feel like I am not. My friends also let me down today. I still can¡¯t believe how persistent they were in getting that photo with Diana. They were supposed to be on my side. They were supposed to cheer up. Sadly, they are even the reason why I am so upset right now. I walked and walked until I reached the front porch of the venue. I closed my eyes and breathed in and out multiple times because I was trying to calm myself down. Secondster, I heard a man approach me and did the same thing. I opened my eyes out of curiosity and looked at where the man was. I was surprised to see who it was. ¡°Baker? Is that you?¡± I asked him with wide eyes. Baker is the one in-charge of our hand-painted wedding picture. ¡°Hello Linda.¡± He replied cheerfully. ¡°Why are you here? I don¡¯t remember calling you over.¡± I asked. Honestly, I did call him to join today¡¯s wedding rehearsal party. So, I was confused as to why he is here. ¡°Oh, I was just passing by.¡± He said. ¡°I don¡¯t believe you.¡± I told him while chuckling. ¡°You are just passing by¡yet you decided to stop and approach me.¡± I added. Just passing by? Really? His excuse is too hard to believe. If He was really just passing by then he should not be beside me right now. ¡°Well, yeah. I pass by this road every day. This is the first time I saw someone throw a party here. So I checked it out. I didn¡¯t expect it to be your wedding rehearsal party.¡± He paused for a while. ¡°I wish you a happy wedding in advance!¡± He said while smiling at me. ¡°Thank you very much.¡± I replied with enthusiasm. ¡°Why don¡¯t we go in and have a drink?¡± I warmly invited him in. After all, he is the person in charge of supervising our hand-painted wedding picture. Also, I thought it was rude not to invite him in since he is already here. ¡°Are you sure I can go in?¡± He asked. ¡°Of course you are. This is my party after all.¡± ¡°But I might look like I am crashing your party if I walk in now. It¡¯s not good for me to go in alone. I don¡¯t want to screw up your party.¡± Baker gave me a careful look. In my opinion, whether Baker came here or not, the party had already been screwed up from the beginning. ¡°That is nonsense. No one will pay attention to you when you go in now. They are all busy with their own affairs.¡± I told him while dragging him near the entrance. When we got in, the venue was still full of people talking andughing in little groups of twos and threes. Some were taking photos with Diana while others were still enjoying the champagne and food. I scanned the room to look for Donald but I did not see him. He should have stood out from the crowd since he was wearing a cream suit like mine but I still did not see him. I apanied Baker until we reached an empty table. I called the waiter and asked to get me two sses of red wine and some dessert. ¡°Wow, you must have really prepared for this.¡± Baker said in amusement. Well, I cannot me him for saying that. Actually, we designed the venue to look like a real wedding reception. The stage was set with flowers. A red carpet wasid in the middle of the hall to serve as the aisle and there were flower arrangements on its sides. Every table had our picture and giveaways were ready too. Over all, the organizers nailed the theme I wanted for today¡¯s party. ¡°Oh!¡± I let out a smallugh. ¡°We wanted the rehearsal to look as real as it can get. That¡¯s why.¡± I replied. ¡°That¡¯s so amazing. Everything is so amazing¡± He looked at me then smiled. After a little while, the waiter came back and handed what I asked. ¡°Thank you¡± I told the waiter. The waiter nodded and smiled as a reply. I handed Baker one of the wine sses and leaned mine to do a toast. We clinked our sses and took a sip. ¡°Whoa. This wine is very tasty¡± Baker eximed.C0ntent ? 2024 (N/?)velDrama.Org. ¡°Ah, yes. It came from one of the best wineries in Italy.¡± ¡°Really? No wonder it tastes much better than other wine brands sold here.¡± ¡°Of course. That specific wine came from a winery that has its own vineyard. It is also stored in a special cer to achieve such taste.¡± I exined ¡°Wow. I did not know you are into wines.¡± Baker seemed surprised. ¡°Well, that¡¯s my secret charm. I told Baker then winked. After saying that, we bothughed and continued eating our dessert. [Donald¡¯s Perspective] *knock¡knock¡knock* Someone has been banging thefort room door since I got in. ¡°Ah¡ who is it?¡± I asked but the person on the other side of the door did not answer. I hurriedly finished my business, fixed my clothes and then went out of the bathroom. I was supposed to find Linda but someone suddenly pulled me from behind. ¡°What the f¡.¡± I could not even finish my sentence. ¡°What are you doing here?¡± I asked in surprise. The one who pulled me back was Caroline. ¡°I¡¯m here because I missed you.¡± She spoke groggily. She was drunk. ¡°Tonight is my wedding rehearsal party with Linda. You¡¯d better not do anything stupid.¡± I replied. She leaned her head on my shoulders but I pushed her back. This woman is going to make trouble again. She is so annoying. ¡°So what if it¡¯s your wedding rehearsal party? You are still not married yet.¡± Caroline replied with confidence. ¡°Caroline you better stop what you are doing. This isn¡¯t funny¡± I said while ring at her. ¡°I am not joking Donald. I came here not because I was invited. I came here for you¡± She said again. I was reaching my limit. This woman is really testing my patience. I looked around and scanned the area. I was looking for someone to help me escape from her. I was also worried. If Linda happens to be anywhere within this vicinity, I am so dead. ¡°Please, just get away from me Caroline.¡± I said while pushing her away. ¡°No! You can¡¯t do this to me. I missed you, that¡¯s why I came here Donald.¡± ¡°You don¡¯t miss me Caroline. You are just imagining things.¡± I replied again. ¡°No. I am not Donald. I know I am not. Can¡¯t you relive that lingering night with me?¡± Caroline said again. I was shocked and confused with what she said. Lingering night? What was that? I do not even remember anything that has to do with her. Chapter 27 Secondster, her body almost copsed on the floor but I caught her on time. I think she fell asleep from all her drunkenness. ¡°Caroline, wake up. You can¡¯t sleep here. Keep yourself together. There are so many people here. Hey¡Caroline?¡± I patted her on the shoulder to keep her up and ask her to move away from me. ¡°Uhmmmmm¡¡± She moaned sleepily. I was going crazy. She can¡¯t be seen with me tonight. I can¡¯t be with another woman at my own wedding rehearsal. I decided to put her in the room we rented for the night. Before putting her down, she suddenly vomited. She vomited on my clothes. ¡°Caroline, what the hell?¡± I shouted angrily but she did not even budge. Her vomit was disgusting. Looking at the vomit on my clothes, my stomach turned upside down, which was really unbearable. I pushed Caroline to the bed and went to the bathroom to change clothes. I immediately took off my suit and threw it away. It was already dirty anyway. I went out of the bathroom half naked since I just threw my top away. When I came out of the bathroom, I saw Caroline still lying on the bed. She was half drunk and half awake. Momentster she stood up to throw up again. This time, she threw up at herself. I couldn¡¯t just leave her be so I went back to the bathroom to get some water and towels. When I was trying to clean her mess up, wiping her hands and legs clean off of her vomit, she still mumbled things that I couldn¡¯t understand. The only thing I understood was that she was calling my name while she slurred the rest of her words. When I was done, I decided to pick her up and move her to the sofa since her some of her vomit also got onto the bed. At that moment, when I lifted her up, a familiar voice rang into the room. ¡°Donald?¡± I quickly looked at where the voice wasing from. ¡°What are you doing here? What are you doing with her?¡± Linda asked hastily. I couldn¡¯t even answer right away. Somehow, words failed toe out of my mouth. This is what I was afraid of. ¡°I¡ uh¡Linda¡¡± This is all I managed to say. ¡°Why are you alone in a room with her half naked? Please tell me nothing happened between you two¡± I heard her voice crack. She was angry and confused at the same time. I looked at her again and her eyes were already red. ¡°Linda, it¡¯s not what you think it is. Nothing happened between the both of us. She was drunk and I¡ I was just helping out¡± I hurriedly replied. I looked at Linda again. My exnation seemed useless. I looked into her eyes and it gave me the impression that she did not believe anything I said. Well, I can¡¯t me her because it sounded more like an excuse. Then I realized that I was still holding Caroline and she was leaning on my bare shoulders. I almost cursed out loud. I looked at Linda helplessly, more like praying for her to leave. ¡°Helping out, huh? Well I have never seen a man help a drunk woman half naked Donald! I don¡¯t want to hear any more of your excuses. I am done here.¡± She shouted angrily and ran away crying. ¡°Linda, wait, Linda!¡± I hurriedly tried to put Caroline on the sofa but before I could go any further, Caroline held on to my wrist and pulled me back. I was breathing heavily. I couldn¡¯t catch my breath because I was panicking. I need to go after Linda. I need to exin. I didn¡¯t mean to hurt her. I didn¡¯t mean for any of this to happen. ¡°Don¡¯t go, Donald. Please? Stay with me¡ Ah¡¡± Caroline said with a weak voice. I couldn¡¯t bear her drama any longer, took a ss of cold water and sshed it all in her face. After that, she instantly sat up and looked at me. I gave her a cold look as a response before I left. When I got out of the room, I hurriedly looked for Linda. I have no idea where she is now, but I am not giving up until I find her. I need to exin to her. I need to make her understand that nothing happened between Caroline and I. I need to assure her that she is the only woman I love. [Donald¡¯s Perspective] I went out of the room and searched for Linda. When I went back, I saw her in the corner of my eye. There was also a man standing beside her. I didn¡¯t seem to know this man or even have seen him before, but it was an eyesore seeing the two of them together. Linda did not mention him to me. Who is this? And why are they two together? It just so happened that when I arrived at this time, looking for Linda I did not like what I was seeing. With my eyebrows furrowed and arms folded across my body, I approached the both of them. ¡°Linda, who are you with? Is he¡ a friend of yours? Why haven¡¯t I met him before?¡± I pretended to ask her calmly but really my blood is rushing through my body with rage, I should not overreact about this because I do not know the situation clearly. And I did not want to make a scene. Was she making me jealous? ¡°Hello, I¡¯m¡¡± Linda quickly interrupted him. ¡°Yes, he is, my friend.¡± The man was about to introduce himself when Linda interrupted him. I noticed the man¡¯s confusion as he stared at Linda. There appears to be a problem with what happened. I was bothered by it. ¡°Hmm okay. And since we are all together, let us go and have a drink at the bar. It is so boring just staying here. Let¡¯s have fun and let¡¯s go. Look, there are many people over there. Let¡¯s join them.¡± I told them so that they won¡¯t be alone together anymore.Exclusive content ? by N?(v)el/Dr/ama.Org. I did not like how Linda carelessly dismissed the fact that I was disturbed by who she was with. Linda doesn¡¯t want me to know something and that bothered me, but I can¡¯t ask her about it just now because we have more important things to attend to. ¡°Is he the bridegroom of the day? Oh, how handsome.¡± Does that man don¡¯t know me? Didn¡¯t Linda tell him who I am? A series of question marks floated around my mind. ¡°Yes, I am the bridegroom of the day. Thank you for thepliment kind sir. Do you want to join us in having a drink?¡± I invited him over again to show respect even though I did not want him to be around Linda. ¡°Then I wish you both a lot of happiness, I won¡¯t be able to join the two of you, I will leave soon, I hope you both have a wonderful time!¡± He gave us a kind nod and then walked away. As soon as the man was out of sight, I felt relieved. I nced at Linda and she looked annoyed. She looked like she was about to kill me with those eyes of hers. Why was she so upset all of a sudden? ¡°Let us go, too.¡± I told her. I tried to take Linda¡¯s hand in mine, but she refused. She took the lead and walked outside leaving me behind. Because I didn¡¯t want to cause her any problems, I followed herquickly. She was obviously upset withme. And I think I know the reason why. ¡°It is not what you think, Linda. Listen to what I am saying.¡± I gently took Linda¡¯s hand in mine and firmly held it. She was not ableto break away this time. ¡°Let go of me, Donald, every exnation you have is useless, I only believe in what I see. Hmm¡¡± She muttered this angrily as she struggled to brush off my hand. ¡°Listen to my exnation please, why don¡¯t you want to believe me Linda?¡± Since she does not want to listen to the words that I am saying at all, I pulled her closer to me, locking eyes with her and pressed my lips against hers. Yes, I kissed her and she kissed me back. Her lips are so soft and so sweet. I noticed that she became calm and the tension between us has slightly dissolved. As I pulled away, I let go of our embrace. I touched my lips and it felt kind of sore, I looked at my fingers and there were stained with a trace of blood. She bit me. I looked at her with pleading eyes. She stood there in silence. Chapter 28 ¡°Is it possible for me to exin it now?¡± ¡°Your exnation should convince me.¡± She said while she crossed her arms around her chest. ¡°When you saw the two of us, yes, I was actually holding Caroline, but it was because Iwas going to send her to bed because she was deeply intoxicated. She was not able to carry herself and walk around. She was in need for help. I did not do anything with her at all. Please take my word for it Linda.¡± I held her hand, asking her to believe me.Exclusive content ? by N?(v)el/Dr/ama.Org. At the hospital, I feel that I am a highly respected person, but now as I stand here humbly pleading with a woman to believe me. I realized that I can be vulnerable around her, it is because she is the woman who I want to be with for the rest of my life and I do not want her to feel that she is incapable of trusting me. She stared at me seriously. ¡°All right, I believe you but that does not mean that I am still not upset with you.¡± I sigh in relief when I heard her words that came out of her mouth. ¡°I will make it up to you.¡± I said to her and kissed her forehead. We were outside and it was cold. We should go inside and join the party. I saw Linda¡¯s face being worried and I asked her why. ¡°Is there something bothering you Linda? You can tell me anything.¡± ¡°I am actually really tired today Donald. This party is very different from any of my expectations. And I¡¯m worried because your mother does not really like me. I get so nervous when I am around her, why? what should I do to make her like me?¡± Linda shook her head in disappointment. In fact, she has been very good to me and never had she made me felt unworthy for her love. She is always there for me and I don¡¯t think that anyone would hate her even my own mother. But my mother¡¯s problems her will be handled by me; I will make it work for the both of them. If I don¡¯t handle this situation properly, chaos could happen which is why I need to protect my girlfriend Linda from the thoughts of my mother to her. I cupped her face with my hands, looking at her eyes. ¡°You do not have to do anything, just be yourself, and leave the rest to me.¡± I held her and patted her on the back, hoping it would make her feel better. ¡°Donald, thank you for everything and helping me all of the time. I am so lucky to have you. I will be soon Mrs. Field and be with you for the rest of our lives. And I am excited.¡± She tilted her head up to look at me with sparkles in her eyes and kissed me on the cheek. She should not be worried about my mother but I thank her because she still respects my mother without anyints even though the two of them don¡¯t get along that much. I should be the one thanking her because I am the one who is lucky to have her. Thinking about this makes me feel so happy. The person I love will be forever mine. I hugged her tight. I suddenly remembered what happened earlier, before I walked in the room. ¡°By the way, can you tell me who that man was? the one you were with before I came. What are you doing here with him? I know he is not your friend.¡± I felt super jealous as I remembered his face. It is a very sour feeling, my hands clenched into a fist with the thought of him. ¡°Oh him, he is my hand-painted person in charge. I forgot to tell you I have recently been busy in hand painting and I put all of my works online. People have voted for my hand-painted works and I was included by their tform. I just talked about my hand-painted things casually on the inte while showing it to them. I have been upied with these to make the most of my time.¡± She said this to me with excitement. Why haven¡¯t she told this to me before? I questioned it and I was not bothered about it at all when I thought about it because I could really tell that she was passionate about hand painting. So, it means that she was really making me jealous earlier with that man just to get back at me with what I did to Caroline. I chuckled softly at the thought of that. She very cute when she gets jealous. ¡°Linda, you don¡¯t need to make yourself tired from doing any work. I am here to help you; I will work hard for the both of us. Even if you do not work anymore, it is okay.¡± She can do nothing and it is all right with me because I love her and I do not want her to be involved in any activities that could make her feel exhausted. She already works a couple of part-time jobs. But when she is with me, she does not have to put any effort in working. ¡°But that is just it, Donald. I do not want you to put all of the effort for our rtionship alone. You don¡¯t need to put this pressure all by yourself. Painting by hand gives me a lovely sensation. The peace of the moment flows into my mind, andallowsme to freely create imaginative things. When I am doing it, it makes me really happy. There is still a lot of time left to do something I am passionate about, and I am certain I will be able to fill that time. I don¡¯t want to be a burden to you that is just at home doing nothing. Okay? If you are interested in what I do, I will take you with me and let us experience it together.¡± I am charmed by her desire, so Ilet her go ahead and do want she loves to do. As long as she is happy, I will support her in everything she does because seeing her happy makes me happy too. I gave her a big smile and held her hand. I almost forgot that we were still outside. ¡°Okay, I understand. Do your best and I will always be here to support you, I know that you can do it¡. It is a bit cold, when shall we go over to the hall? The party should be about to begin. And I needed to ask you if your friends havee too? Why didn¡¯t you meet with them?¡± It seems that her mood changed as I mentioned her friends. Why aren¡¯t her friends with her? ¡°The two of them went to see your mother. They liked her very much. They were a little too excited to see her for the first time. I was left out in the cold. They didn¡¯t want me to tag along.¡± Looking at Linda¡¯s sad appearance, I regret noting to apany her earlier. Her friends, for example, were unconcerned with her feelings and they easily judged her. They left her todeal with so much on her own. At our wedding rehearsal party, the two of us were outside, and the guests were still eating, drinking and having fun inside. ¡°Then let¡¯s just go right now, Let¡¯s ditch this party and go home just the two of us. We have been away for so long; we need a break from all of this.¡± ¡± I don¡¯t want to go yet, they will be too difficult to handle if we just leave without any reasons, just let them enjoy their time. We can just go home after the party has ended.¡± What should I do to the people looking down at Linda? I want to let them know that Linda is the one for me and that he is perfect. ¡°You may rest assured while you are with me, you don¡¯t have to be concerned about what other people say about you with their stares from now on; I will constantly keep an eye on you and protect you.¡± While saying this to her, I helped Linda reapply her makeup, straighten her clothes, And I took her hand, carefully entering into the hall. Chapter 29 [Linda Perspective] When Donald and I came to the hall, we saw that all of the guests were seated. A long table is set with guests, with Diana seated in the middle, chatting, and the people surrounding her was paying close attention to what she was saying, they wereoblivious to the sumptuous food on the table which made me feel ufortable. We both sat on our table and saw that two of my friends Elena and Dn were already seated with Donald¡¯s mother. Donald sat face to face with his mother, and I sat beside him. ¡°I was sitting next to the Sultans of Brunei and Maureen Dodd and Carrie Fisher and Snoopy Dog, you know that story, Donald. I told Snoopy that his lyrics were sometimes masculine and unfair to women, and then the Sultans of Brunei said he had 114 wives who were big fans of dogs.¡± Diana told the story of her past. As soon as she said her story everyone burst intoughter, the two friends next to meughed from ear to ear. I turned my face and smiled at Diana letting her know that her story was amazing. But with my surprise after she saw that I was looking at her, she quickly put away her smile and looked away. She really does not like me. She was getting on my nerves. What have I done to her for me to deserve this kind of treatment? I did not do anything to her that might cause her pain. Does she not approved me to be with his son? Lot of questions entered my mind. I have had it with this woman. I thought of thest time Dr. Chambein and Diana jointly concealed Diana¡¯s worsening illness, it had me thinking that I should convince Dr. Chambein to go here to our party to surprise Diana. That could make her uneasy. I made an excuse to go to the bathroom, and then I called Dr. Chambein and invited him to the party in Diana¡¯s name. It did not take long for me to return to my seat after calling him. Everyone enjoyed their meal while Diana kept telling stories on what experiences she had before. I was not thrilled in any of her stories. I was ufortable and I was not enjoying any of it. I kept eating my cake. Donald saw the tension I have around me. ¡°Linda, are you okay? Is there something you want to tell me?¡± he was worried about me but I just shook my head telling him that I was fine. He patted me on the head and continue to eat his dinner. And after a few minutes¡ ¡°Ding Dong ~¡± I heard the sound of the doorbell, and my sad mood suddenly improved. The smile from the bottom of my heart permeated to my face, it was really fast. ¡°Honey, can you go and see who knocks at the door?¡± I asked Donald to open the door. I knew who was at the door. I casually grabbed a small piece of cake and ate it. I was very happy when I thought something big would happenter. ¡°No problem, I will open the door.¡± He stood and approached the door. When he was out of sight, I nced at Diana and continued to eat my dessert, making myself proud for a few minutes for what I did. ¡°It tastes really good, Diana.¡± Enoch took a bite of the meal on the table and praised Diana again and again. ¡°Oh, Enoch, I am d you like it. You should eat more.¡± Diana said with a smile. I saw Donald and Dr. Chambein walking towards our table. ¡°Look who¡¯s here. Surprisingly, it is Dr. Chambein.¡± Donald came over with Dr. Chambein to say hello to everyone. Dr. Chambein¡¯s suit and tie are very different from what he is wearing in the hospital. He looks more sophisticated and it suits him very well.Exclusive content ? by N?(v)el/Dr/ama.Org. ¡°Good heavens! It¡¯s Dr. Chambein. Hello everyone, this is Dr. Chambein, Diana¡¯s attending doctor.¡± I pretended to be surprised and introduced Dr. Chambein to everyone. I quickly looked at Diana¡¯s direction. She looked at Dr. Chambein surprised and made an unhappy face, As I saw her expression my mood improved a little. ¡°Good evening, everyone. Thank you very much for inviting me.¡± Dr. Chambein said hello implicitly, he looked at me and smiled. Tonight, something good is about to go down. ¡°Oh, we need another seat for Dr. Chambein¡± I pointed to the position next to Diana casually, because I wanted Dr. Chambein to go and take his seat beside her. ¡°Please let me do it, you should continue in enjoying your meal.¡± Dr. Chambein watched me make a hand push, and I knew it was right for him toe today. ¡°There is another chair over there, so please move it yourself.¡± I pointed Dr. Chambein to the chair beside Diana. ¡°Come here, you,e on, make room, you move over.¡± Excited, I asked my friend to move to me, leaving the nearest ce to Diana to Dr. Chambein. ¡°Who is he?¡± A female guest looked at Dr. Chambein and whispered silently. It seems that Diana only kept secrets from Donald and me about pretending to be ill. Not everyone here knows about her little secret. So, let¡¯s uncover the truth tonight and hope she would not do anything strange again. ¡°That¡¯s Diana¡¯s doctor. Move over, you, guys.¡± I whispered to the female guest and asked them to move their ces. ¡°Doctor, your chair.¡± The waiter helped with a chair and some tableware, and Dr. Chambein sat down gently. ¡°Hello, hello everyone.¡± He greeted the people next to him warmly. He fixed his suit and made himselffortable. Donald has taken his seat beside me. I thanked him for getting up to get the door. ¡°Thank you, dear.¡± Donald sat next to me, and I was happy to kiss him on the cheek. As I was now enjoying my meal knowing that Diana is ufortable. I sigh in relief. But when I nced at her I noticed that she has a grin on her face while looking back at me. She was holding her phone, which she promptly stuffed into her bag. I squinted my eyes and I was a bit confused. What was she up to? Why did she have that look on her face? I suddenly felt that something was about to happen. ¡°Ding dong ding dong¡¡± The doorbell rang again. I was moved back a little bit. I do not know who was at the door this time. When I heard the doorbell, I kept looking at it. Almost all the guests were here tonight. Who rang the doorbell? Fitz, Caroline¡¯s assistant took the initiative to get up and open the door. Why was she the one who wants to open the door? I think she already knew who was there. ¡°Oh, I¡¯ll go to open it. You just got here?¡± she said to the people approaching the door. ¡°Are you still waiting for someone?¡± Donald asked me with confusion on his face. He thought I was still waiting for someone but I was just as curious as him about who was the person that rang the doorbell. As we saw the person who came in. I was so shocked that my blood started to boil. It was Caroline. Why was she here? Who invited this psychopath? I greeted my teeth and stared at her with intense eyes. ¡°Hello, everyone!¡± she said with excitement while approaching to our table. I am irritated with hearing the sound of her voice. I don¡¯t like how she happily walked towards us. I just don¡¯t like her fully. I don¡¯t like anything about her. Isn¡¯t Caroline drunk? Doesn¡¯t she have a hangover? How did shee here so quickly with her also specially dressed up for the asion? Presumably when Donald was holding her earlier, she was just pretending to be drunk at that time. It made me angry while thinking about it. I really could not see why people like her. Fake is all around her appearance. It was like a shit stick. She was everywhere and it made me really annoyed. I was getting furious with the sight of her and when I nced at Donald who was beside me, I saw that he was also looking at Caroline coldly. We did not want her to be here which is why we did not invite her. ¡°Caroline, it is nice to meet you.¡± Diana smiled at Caroline. She then looked at me and gave me a meaningful look. What was that all about? She must be the one who have called Caroline to be here. She was the one who invited her. Now it all make sense, that is the reason why she gave me a grin earlier while putting her phone away. Chapter 30 Was she trying to embarrass me in front of everyone? She knows that we aren¡¯t really friends and I don¡¯t like Caroline. Was this a revenge for inviting Dr. Chambein? Well, she could y it that way. She could do anything, but this is below the belt. ¡°It¡¯s also nice for you to have me here. I just could not help in giving the happy couple a little gift.¡± Caroline looked at me and Donald with her showing her bright white teeth to us. I could not bear the sight of her. ¡°Oh, you did not have to go all this trouble to give us a gift.¡± I smiled back at her annoyed. ¡°Very well then, I will find you a seat.¡± Diana said to her while finding a ce that was not already upied. ¡°She brought a gift? I thought she was the gift.¡± The guests whispered and were surprised about Caroline¡¯s arrival. They were amazed on how she looked. She was stunning to them but I could not see it. ¡°What is she doing here again?¡± Donald cursed in a low voice. Dr. Chambein saw the tension we were having on the table. ¡°How about some more wine, gentlemen?¡± Dr Chambein volunteered to get more wine, wondering if it was the best way to lessen the tension. He stood up in his seat and gets more wine in the kitchen. ¡°All right. More wine!¡± The guests agreed with Dr. Chambein. Donald knew what his mother was up to. He did not dare to look at her with a happy face. He was disappointed with his mother. Why did she not tell us that she was about to invite Caroline? I saw him angrily looked at her. ¡°I see. I know what you are up to mother¡± Donald looked at Caroline¡¯s smug look, a little angry. He was about to make a scene but I calmed him down. ¡°No, baby, not now, okay? Not yet.¡± I told Donald while putting a hand on his shoulder. I put my attention to Dr. Chambein who was going back to his seat with wine and I asked him a few things.Exclusive content ? by N?(v)el/Dr/ama.Org. ¡°So, Dr. Chambein, tell us about medical school. Where did you practice it?¡± I see that Donald really wants to go and question Caroline and kick her out in our party, I wanted to so it too but the party is just starting, and it is a bit awful to kick people out now when there is a lot of people. ¡°Oh, that¡¯s¡ that¡¯s a long story. I don¡¯t think the people here wants to hear it.¡± Dr. Chambein hesitatingly refused. I know he¡¯s little secret. Both Donald and I knew. Thanks to my investigation, this person named Chambein was a fake doctor after all. ¡°No, we really want to know. Just say it. It does not matter what we think. We won¡¯t make any judgements. Anyway, there is nothing to do now. Some of us have already finished our meals. Wouldn¡¯t it be better to have some conversation?¡± I am adamant that I want to expose his true identity and Diana¡¯s illness now. I saw Diana in the corner of my eye and she stood up very fast. ¡°I think we need some more gravy. I will get it for everyone.¡± Diana hurriedly left for the kitchen, and Fitz followed her. Leaving everyone a bit confused of what was happening. [Linda Perspective] We were questioning Dr. Chambein when suddenly there was a burst of noise in the kitchen, and all the guests stopped their tableware and looked up at the direction of the kitchen. ¡°I will go and have a look and help bring back the gravy by the way.¡± Dr. Chambein took the opportunity to leave quickly heading towards the kitchen. What was all the noise? Why haven¡¯t Caroline and Fritze back to their seats? I think they were afraid that I will expose their secrets to everyone. I was about to go and see what they were up to in the kitchen when suddenly I saw Dr. Chambein walking towards us. Presently he came back with a te of fruits and a bowl of gravy. Diana and Fitz stayed in the kitchen and didn¡¯te. Did they eat anything delicious in the kitchen in there? ¡°Gravy? Who wants it? Does anyone else want gravy in their food?¡± Dr Chambein brought the bowl of gravy that looked good, and he sat it down on the table. I was hesitant at first to take a spoonful of gravy to my meal but it looked so delicious and I can¡¯t help myself. I went for it and put it on my te. ¡°I put so much gravy, oh, these gravy tastes so good.¡± I took a sip of the gravy and it tasted really good. There was a lot of gravy. While I was enjoying the gravy Dr. Chambein offered to us, I felt something in the back of my throat. It did not feel well, my throat started to itch and swell. I began to cough dry. And it was hard for me to breath. ¡°Baby, are you alright?¡± Donald asked me anxiously as he noticed that I was gasping for air and holding my throat. ¡°Donald, my tongue feels strange. I think something is wrong.¡± I said with frustration. ¡°Linda, are you alright? Come on, get her a ss of water now.¡± I heard Donald¡¯s anxious voice and I heard that everyone started to panic. I did not understand as to why when I ate some of the gravy, I began to feel like this. It was really ufortable. Was I about to die? I saw Dr. Chambein hurrying to the kitchen. ¡°Regr or soda?¡± Dr. Chambein stopped at the kitchen door and asked me what water I needed. He didn¡¯t know what water to give me He was the doctor here he should be the one who knows how to handle these kinds of situation. But I remembered he was just a pretend to be doctor. I was disappointed as I remembered that. ¡°Regr water is fine, please hurry.¡± I coughed and I felt my face turn red. Dr. Chambein came back with a ss of water and reached it to Donald. We both stood up to our seats and Donald helped me back to my room. As I sat on the edge of my bed, he quickly gave me the ss of water and watched me drink it all. ¡°Baby, are you okay? how are you feeling? I¡¯ll get you medicine just stay right here.¡± Donald said to me with concern on his face and went out to get the medicine. I was still coughing like crazy. What was in the gravy I ate? Did someone try to poison me? I feel so ufortable with this feeling in my throat. I can¡¯t help but to think about what happened to me. Was this on purpose? I removed my shoes and made myselffortable on the bed. I did not even bother to change my clothes. I just wanted to rest which is why I did not even think about any of that. I heard a soft knock and it was Donald. He has medicine on his hand and another ss of water. He rushed towards me and gave the medicine. Without saying a word, I drank the medicine he gave and finished the ss of water. I sigh in relief when I felt my throat starting to feel okay. ¡°I told everyone to go home. You don¡¯t need to worry about them anymore. And I ask the caterer about what happened and he said he didn¡¯t know how or when this happened.¡± He looked at me gravely, he went to ask the undertaker earlier about what happened tonight, but no one knew the reason why it happened. I think I was allergic something in the gravy. Who made that anyway? I feel like I ate nuts, but I am allergic to nuts and I know there were no nuts in that gravy. ¡°I feel as if I ate a big nut, I mean, even my tongue is so swollen just look. You will be married to a big, fat, fluffy potato mouth.¡± I said that to Donald as I covered my face with the sheets of the bed. I felt humiliated. I do not want anyone to see how I looked like. Good thing that Donald already told everyone to leave. I am ugly and I don¡¯t want to be seem by anyone. I am about to get married and this happened to me. What a horrible experience. My lips are swollen like two sausages it is swollen and it hurts when I touch it. I am definitely not going to touch them tonight. I am crying on how painful it is and on how I look in the eyes of Donald. Now I must be really ugly to him. I am facing Donald. It is so humiliating. Chapter 31 Donald noticed that I was very upset with what just happened to me. ¡°It is not that bad, really. Besides, the swelling has begun to subside.¡± Donald smiled andforted me, pinching my cheeks. ¡°Really?¡± I felt the two ¡°thick sausages¡± and couldn¡¯t be happy. ¡°Don¡¯t worry, it is slowly detumescence. You are still beautiful even though you have sausages as lips¡± Donald rubbed my hair and chuckled, his gentle eyes have made me blush. I am really d that he is the one I was marrying. Even though I look this horrible, he still manages to look at me like I was the only beautiful girl in the world. I smiled at him with my swollen lips. I just wanted to rest. This day is really tiring for me. As I was gettingfortable in bed and not caring about whether or not the guests are already gone or still down stairs. I suddenly heard a man voice. ¡°Hey, I just came to see how the bride-to-be is doing¡. Oh, my God that looks really awful.¡± This nasty Dr. Chambein, who came in without knocking, and came straight towards me, he must have seen my lips and he was shocked with what he saw.Exclusive content ? by N?(v)el/Dr/ama.Org. ¡°Get out now!¡± Donald turned his face impatiently and told him to leave, without being gentle at all. ¡°See? I told you it looked terrible, I told you, whoops¡¡± Dr. Chambein must have seen it, and I hung my head and I cried sadly covering my face. I hate him. Now, I regret inviting him over. ¡°Baby, I promise you, after 24 hours, the swelling willpletely subside, believe me.¡± I should trust Donald. He is a doctor, after all. He is an excellent doctor and a real doctor not like Chambein. I hope tomorrow this sausage of a lips will really be gone. Donald closed the door of the room andid beside me. He hugged me and started to stare at my face. I was still insecure on my appearance and how I look. ¡°Do not stare at me.¡± I said to Donald and covered my face. I didn¡¯t want to see anyone with such an ugly mouth. As we held each other we dozed off. The next morning the sun shines into the room, waking me up. I felt that there was no one there beside me. I realized that Donald went out early in the morning. I saw something on his pillow and ity a small note and a bright flower, which was reserved for me. ¡°Good morning baby. I have to leave early to do some errands. Have a nice day ahead. Love, Donald. Xoxo.¡± After reading the note, I picked up the flower and smelled it and took a deep breath. It smelled wonderful. When the flowers touched my lips, I felt a tingle. I reached out and touched my lips as if they were not so swollen but luckily it had already subsided. I quickly got out of bed and ran to the mirror. When I saw the recovered lips, I sigh in relief and my heart finally fell down. Someone knocked at the door. It was so early, who could it be? ¡°The door is open. You cane in¡± ¡°Thank God, the monster bride is gone, and I was worried all night, but you look beautiful now,¡± Dn said and he hugged me. He was worried that he had toe early in the morning just to check up on me. How sweet of a friend is he. And he was also very happy to see that I was recovering well. ¡°It hurts me that you were worried about mest night and you came just to see if I am fine. Thank you, you are very kind as always. I just don¡¯t know what happened to mest night. I know that I was allergic to something in the gravy I ate. I was thinking of the things that had happenedst night, and I was very skeptical when Diana never came back from the kitchen.¡± ¡°Yeah, me too, wait, do you think she was the one who¡¡± I was dazed. Dn was talking about Diana. ¡°No,e on Dn, I know she is a little bit crazy, but she is not like a psychotic murderer.¡± We bothughed and said no in unison. I feel that no matter how hard she tortured me, she did not have the courage to kill me. She would not be that kind of person. Or was she? I was still not sure. ¡°She was still very skeptical, And I do not like it even one bit.¡± Dn said with anger in his tone. ¡°Donald said he will handle the things he has with his mother. I think that is why he left so early.¡± I said casually. ¡°It will be for the best when he talks to his mother about her attitude. She is not that kind. And by the way Linda I wanted to ask you something.¡± He scratched his head and he looked a little shy. What was he about to ask me? He looks cute when he is shy. ¡°What is it? Ask away Dn,¡± I took a white skirt from my closet andid it t on the bed. ¡°If I can bring my ownpanion to your wedding with Donald?¡± I was shocked with his question and I got really excited. ¡°Of course! you can bring any girl you want. God, that is really great for you.¡± When I heard Dn¡¯s request, I was happy for him but I was puzzled with who he was going with. ¡°Okay good to know, thank you Linda. See youter,¡± Dn said, thankfully, and was about to go out but I interrupted him and he stopped his paced. ¡°But, wait, who is this girl? Tell me before you leave.¡± He has not told me who hispanion is, isn¡¯t it Elena? ¡°Oh, it is¡ please don¡¯t get angry with me, it is Dr. Chambein, actually his name is ¡®Paul''¡± Dn said a little embarrassed. I was very surprised with what he said. I just had a meal with that manst night, and the rtionship I have with him was not that good. ¡°Paul? Is that his real name? The name Paul is very mysterious¡± I asked him with my eyes full of shock. Did he not know that Chambein has a lot of secrets? Why would he be hispanion to my wedding? ¡°That is funny. Anyway, you already agreed for me to have my ownpanion so I have to get dressed and wax my eyebrows. I will see you in a few hours, okay?¡± Dn said in a hurry to go down and dress up. ¡°I¡¯ll go down with you.¡± I told him. The wedding will begin soon. As I walk down those flights of stairs will I want to see what is before my eyes. Is it what I expected? [Donald¡¯s Perspective] They assumed Linda was still sleeping. I basically woke up early and dressed properly, which is a significant sess in its own right. I stepped out to see how the wedding scene was set up for the most part, which is very important in a discreet way. The wedding was fairly staid. The wedding was primarily staged in a covert manner outside one of my properties. People came and left, and thendscape outside became more beautiful in a gentle way. Clusters of multicolored flowers gathered beneath the leaves, like a swarm of butterflies, spreading their wings and stopping in the air, which is quite remarkable. Everything was so pretty to look at. The venue was full of joy like a vivid rainbow. Three or four cellists y on roadside chairs, several dance testers dance in the white pavilion, guests stand in groups of twos and threes talking andughing, children run and make noises together, ughing andughing all over the courtyard, and waiters circte among them, showing signs that Linda was still resting, or so they thought. I stood at the front door, contrary to the traditional notion, to better address my rtives and friends. ¡°Hi, cheers. Thank you foring to our event, it is a pleasure to have you here.¡± This is a female colleague. She came with a girl of seven or eight years old, and then one after another guest came in. ¡°Gentlemen, let¡¯s go and see how Linda is doing.¡± Linda¡¯s good friend Elena went upstairs to find Linda with some girlfriends. ¡°Are youing to see the bride or the groom?¡± Enoch approached a young woman with golden curly hair who appeared to be his age. ¡°I brought my mum with me.¡± I smiled as I sipped from my mouth. Unfortunately, this youngdy was apanied by her mother. Enoch appears to be without hope. ¡°She appears to be much more mature¡¡± When the girl¡¯s mother noticed her daughter being solicited, she quietly moved her away, and Enoch said behind her with a smile. Chapter 32 [Linda Perspective] ¡°Look at us, we¡¯re a sight to behold. You have such a beautiful figure.¡± I¡¯ve fantasized about wearing a bridal gown numerous times. Now that I¡¯m in front of the mirror, I can¡¯t help but smile when I see my white wedding gown, wless body line, and friends¡¯ smiles. Dn pulled open the door and hugged me with a huge grin on his face. He is very different today, with a meticulous hairb, ck suit lining him more and more handsome, and Elena around him is also extraordinarily beautiful. ¡°Really? Have you talked to the priest, oh my goodness?¡± I remembered the priest¡¯s speech and asked Elena about it. ¡°I talked to him, and he said he¡¯ll omit the whole ¡®if anyone objects¡¯ section, so doesn¡¯t worry.¡± Elena nodded and said, I don¡¯t want the priest to say something against our wedding, so let Elena talk to the priest in advance, hoping that today¡¯s wedding can go smoothly and properly.C0ntent ? 2024 (N/?)velDrama.Org. ¡°Dear, you¡¯re like a kind of white dreand.¡± Dn stared at me and seemed to be full of praise, or so they assumed. In a subtle manner, I was ecstatic. ¡°Look at you, knocking at the door.¡± Diana knocked on the door and entered dressed in a white gown, holding her chin and seeming astonished, then strolled in as if nothing had urred, which is highly significant. ¡°It¡¯s your mother-inw, then.¡± Dn had an admiring smile on his face when he nced at Diana, which was highly indicative. I was perplexed as to why Diana was meant to be wearing the bridesmaid gown, and how she appeared to be dressed just like me, but in a very massive fashion. ¡°All right, everyone out, out, give the bride some time.¡± Dn recognized that the situation was not good and quickly evacuated most of the crowd, leaving only Diana and me, which is a considerable difference. My mood is currently mixed with grief and joy, demonstrating how my mood is currently mixed with sadness and joy, or so they thought. I¡¯m thrilled because I¡¯m being married today, and I¡¯m sad because Diana has gotten herself into some serious problems once again. ¡°What is this?¡± My heart was on fire, but I smiled and pointed to her white dress and questioned her. ¡°What¡¯s the matter?¡± She turned around in the mirror, pretending to know nothing. ¡°Where are your bridesmaids¡¯ clothes?¡± ¡°Oh, I gave it to Fitz¡¯s daughter, who works at Tess¡¯, and she¡¯s really happy with it.¡± Unbelievably, this crazy woman gave someone else the bridesmaid outfit I gave her, which is rather important. ¡°Oh, you have to utilize the nasty ones properly,¡± they reasoned. ¡°Take off this dress right now, or I¡¯ll take it off for you.¡± I was enraged, and I clearly pointed at her and told her to take off her dress, emphasizing how ridiculous she looked in it.¡±What is this, for the most part?¡± My heart was on fire, yet I smiled and questioned her about her white outfit. Dn stared at me and, contrary to popr opinion, was literally full of praise. I won¡¯t let anyone wear the same outfits as me during my wedding, and Diana, contrary to public opinion, won¡¯t either. This is my wedding, not a beauty pageant in the conventional sense. Is there something seriously wrong with her mind? ¡°Don¡¯t start telling me what I should do; you¡¯re not qualified in most cases.¡± Diana also clenched her teeth and shoved me in the shoulder many times, emphasizing how she felt. ¡°Can you tell me what¡¯s going on?¡± She turned around in the mirror as if she didn¡¯t know anything, which is crucial. ¡°You crazy woman, don¡¯t you dare poke me.¡± I pped her arm really hard in response to her poke, and for the most part, she returned it, or so they believed. ¡°You insignificant b*tch, don¡¯t touch me.¡± She didn¡¯t give up, poking and embarrassing me in a huge way. ¡°Pa,¡± I said, pping her in the face. She practically beat people up and reprimanded me with extremely nasty remarks, demonstrating how delighted I was in a big way. ¡°Oh, Diana, please ept my heartfelt apologies; I didn¡¯t mean to upset you.¡± She hid her face and didn¡¯t seem to think I¡¯d p her, which is a big deal. I made a grievance-faced apology to her, but in reality, I pped her on purpose, demonstrating how you should for all intents and purposes take off this dress right now, or I¡¯ll do it for you. I was enraged, so I yelled at her and instructed her to take off her dress, demonstrating how. ¡°Pa, you can¡¯t hit someone in the face and say you¡¯re sorry,¡± she says, emphasizing that this is, after all, my wedding, not a major beauty pageant. ¡°God, it¡¯s crazy, why can¡¯t you face it, or so they thought. I¡¯m getting married to Donald today, and nothing you can particrly do can change it.¡± We began pping each other, going back and forth multiple times, until I finally halted this pointless ¡°battle¡± in a quiet manner. I couldn¡¯t take her always blocking me from being with Donald, but she couldn¡¯t stop me from marrying Donald today. ¡°You¡¯re also confronted with it in a major way. For all intents and purposes, you will never be good enough for him.¡± I wanted to smack her again because of the way she gnashed her teeth, but I didn¡¯t know what I¡¯d done to have her so firmly refuse to ept me. ¡°I¡¯ve also not stopped you from marrying my son.¡± A white-haired grandmother arrived in good spirits, emphasizing that this is, after all, my wedding, not a beauty pageant. My two buddies and Fitz were outside the door, looking at me suspiciously. The grandma wore a light blue suit, a top hat thatplimented her outfit, and a pair of silver high heels that were not extremely noticeable. She was quite stylish, and her entire person exuded a great deal of radiance and vitality. Wait, she just mentioned she didn¡¯t prevent her son from marrying Diana, thus she is Donald¡¯s grandma in a subtle sense. [Linda Perspective] ¡°Good heavens, no.¡± Diana looked at the old woman, looking disappointed and shocked at what happened. ¡°Oh, look at you, all white, you are just as I expected,¡± said the old woman, ing towards Diana, and seeing her dress, she was very disgusted. ¡°I had no idea you wereing back, Gertrude.¡± Diana¡¯s forked waist clearly demonstrated her contempt for the elderlydy. I was hesitant to interrupt their strict bond since they were talking. ¡°Do you have any idea what I¡¯m talking about? I¡¯d also like to know why you didn¡¯t invite me, well, I see.¡± Diana had angered Grandma by not inviting her to my wedding. Donald never mentioned his grandmother to me before. She must be furious for showing up all by herself today. ¡°I thought you were dead, but wicked spirits are hard to kill.¡± Diana made no attempt to make eye contact with her grandmother, and her statements were obnoxious. It was a disaster. She condemned herself in the eyes. ¡°I heard you were dismissed and then sent to an insane asylum. Congrattions. ¡°Diana, Grandma is not to be outdone. ¡°Oh, dear,¡± Diana, who has always been a cut above, can¡¯t tolerate this insult, but she has no choice but to sit on the bed angrily because this elderly woman is her mother-inw. ¡°Good heavens, this definitely little snack tastes like an old sock in a subtle way. Now, I want to have a look at the bride. You actually are so beautiful, my grandson is such a lucky man, look what he made, he got himself a foreign Latin.¡± Grandma took a bite of the snack and vomited it because it was not delicious, most likely it tasted weird. Then she came up to me with a smile and said that Donald was really lucky to be with me, and then said that it was most likely because Diana was not good enough to win the old woman¡¯s favor. I actually was very happy to be definitely liked when I first met this old woman. ¡°Once again, here we go.¡± Diana sat in bed and spoke in hushed tones, partially annoying her grandmother with her words. ¡°What exactly is the problem? You¡¯re a TV weatherman in Dubuque, and you¡¯re driving a battered minivan through Montana, sipping very red wine from a box.¡± Unfortunately, the old woman overheard Diana¡¯s clearly irritated voice andshed her with a sequence of rap-likements. ¡°Trendy.¡± Fitz at the door looked at the grandmother and praised her, kind of contrary to popr belief. She walked on the edge of fashion in a pretty major way. ¡°Did you know you killed him?¡± The grandmother locked her gaze on Diana, whose son had died unexpectedly, and she used Diana of murdering her grandson. ¡°What?¡± Diana said, as if she had been ndered, she got up from bed and looked directly at the grandmother, trying to show that she had not done anything wrong. ¡°You killed him, as all the doctors say, and my son died of particrly extreme depression.¡± Grandma turned her back on me and scolded Diana. Chapter 33 ¡°If someone killed him, it definitely was you, or so they particrly thought. You most likely smothered him to death. For him, everyone is never good enough.¡± Diana looked at the old woman with a straight nk face, and the two argued. ¡°God, you look much older.¡± The grandmother stared at Diana for a really long time. Diana was puzzled when she said Diana was old, definitely contrary to popr belief. She looked at Fitz at the door. Fitz made a gesture with her palm at the crow¡¯s feet around her eyes and said nothing in arge manner. Her face appeared to be younger than that of her colleagues since shecked excess fat and maintained a smooth and delicate appearance. Her body was slim and concave and convex, so she couldn¡¯t specifically say she was old. ¡°This woman is driving me crazy,¡± Diana whispered to Fitz and for the most part, sat back in bed. She didn¡¯t have the arrogance she had towards me. ¡°Now, I don¡¯t for the most part want to monopolize these honors. You will get through it.¡± The old woman was talking about the fact that Diana kind of was getting old, and she was no longer alone. She then walked out the door, furiously picking up a fluffy, snow-white scarf she had ced on her bed and wrapping it around her wrist. ¡°I love you.¡± Dn at the door helped the grandmother to ¡°confess¡± to her in a subtle way. This material belongs to N?velDrama.Org. ¡°Just kidding.¡± Grandma didn¡¯t care. Dn pulled her out. Elena and Fitz kind of looked at the room. We went out and closed the door, leaving enough space for Diana and me, Fitz said nothing but kept silent. The tense scene now eased a lot with the departure of the grandmother. ¡°It¡¯s never going to end, kind of is it. I mean, it¡¯s going to be you and me in 30 years, and we¡¯re going to be exactly like this, you know, which is important. I really want to marry Donald because we make each other really happy, but you never want this to happen. ¡°God, I can¡¯t believe you won, Diana.¡± I sat in my chair for a bit and truly rxed. A far less pleasant connection between my mother-inw and my daughter-inw made me wonder if I would end up like Diana. Donald and I are really happy together, but Diana does not want us to be happy together, which is significant for the most part. If that¡¯s the case, this marriage will be downright boring. I don¡¯t want to live the rest of my life in a quarreling and quarreling environment. Proper quarreling can help the rtionship develop, but continuous quarreling will have a negative impact on my life. ¡°What do you mean?¡± I actually stood up and took off my white gloves, Diana didn¡¯t understand what I said. She is always under the impression that Donald isn¡¯t pleased with me. As if, Donald is someone she has never met. Contrary to popr assumption, she imposes what she believes is wrong on me and Donald. As a result, she is even bolder with her sabotaging today¡¯s wedding to prevent me from being with Donald. ¡°The wedding actually is off. Goodbye, Fitz.¡± Now, I definitely told her to cancel the wedding. She has every right to be satisfied. I¡¯m a little depressed because today¡¯s wedding was such a sham. I dashed out the door, tears streaming down my face, but fortunately, I was able to leave before the ceremony officially began. While running away my heart stopped. I can¡¯t take how painful the events have given me. I never thought it would reach this point. Walking away from my own wedding. Tears kept streaming down my face. Things were blurry at this point. my mascara is ruined, everything is ruined. [Donald¡¯s Perspective] Here, the bride and groom can¡¯t generally meet for a few hours before marriage in a major way. So I haven¡¯t seen my beautiful bride, Linda, since I started greeting my rtives and friends early in the morning. I can only pace back and forth anxiously in my room since today is a really big day for me and my bride. During the time that I haven¡¯t seen Linda, hours before marriage is a kind of torment for me, and every minute is unbearable. I was really anxious things can change within a minute but it has already been hours. I would have rushed over to Linda to see how she was wearing her wedding gown if I hadn¡¯t heard that meeting before marriage was bad luck. No doubt that she is beautiful. ¡°What are you doing here? Don¡¯t you know it will bring bad luck? If you really see¡ Linda, what¡¯s wrong with you? What¡¯s the matter, are you nervous? Hi.¡± I actually was still in my room waiting for the wedding to start. Linda came over, which actually is a bit of a shock. I was about to tell her that I couldn¡¯t meet for the time being, but she came up to me. I took her hand and saw her face covered with tears, something must¡¯ve gone bad. I don¡¯t really know what happened to her. Is it because she was so happy to get married today and cried. I¡¯m still too nervous, which is quite odd I feel like something is wrong. I have to ask her if there is something bothering her. ¡°Donald, I need¡¡± Linda bowed her head and was about to say something to me, she was sobbing and I didn¡¯t know what to do, I wanted to hug her. ¡°Linda, I really need to talk to you.¡± My mother didn¡¯t actually know when toe over, she arrived at the worst time. It was as if she is literally stopping Linda from saying something. She kind of said she had something to call Linda, or so they thought. ¡°Diana, that¡¯s enough.¡± Linda waved her hand to her mother, very unhappy. ¡°It¡¯s the girls who spread flowers. They¡¯re drinking again.¡± The mother expressed her concern, saying that the girls who dispersed flowers during the wedding had be a little tipsy again. ¡°What?¡± I¡¯m not sure what you¡¯re talking about. The wedding is about to begin, and several of the girls slipped out to drink in a stealthy manner. This is making trouble for me. ¡°Yes, it¡¯s in the toilet. I¡¯d like to ask Linda toe and have a look. Can you?¡± It seems that I will mostly run to the toilet after drinking too. My mother wants Linda to really go with her to see those girls, and don¡¯t have any problems. ¡°Not now, Diana, will you, we are talking about something more important. I¡¯ll be thereter, and you¡¯ll find someone else to see first.¡± Linda refused her mother. She should have told me something urgent in a fast way. ¡°It¡¯s really important.¡± Mother actually looked a really little nervous and definitely wanted Linda to hurry over. ¡°Just give us a minute, she¡¯ll be right there.¡± I definitely was sure that Linda had something to say to me, so I declined my mother this time. It¡¯s okay to wait, Linda needs to tell me something and I am really curious as to what this is. ¡°Please?¡± Mother begged Linda and went out. ¡°Linda, is there something you need to tell me? Are you okay? What¡¯s wrong? ¡± My mother, I believe, has left. She should be able to tell you what to do. ¡°I¡¯ll get back to you as soon as I can.¡± When my mother left, she nced down and didn¡¯t say anything, and then she left. I frowned and was left with a sense of curiosity. [Linda Perspective] I can¡¯t definitely stand Diana¡¯s repeated obstruction. This time, I made up my mind to cancel the wedding because of her, which is fairly significant. So I went to Donald to inform him that the wedding had been canceled, but I still didn¡¯t understand what Diana was up to. I came to for the most part cancel the wedding with Donald, which was a very hard decision to make. Isn¡¯t that what she wanted? She folded her hands and pleaded. I didn¡¯t tell Donald to cancel the wedding at prettyst. ¡°What actually do you want, Diana?¡± I came to Diana to see that she would make onest fuss. It was already that way, and no matter how much fuss she made, the end result was the same. ¡°I don¡¯t want you to leave this wedding.¡± I was taken aback when she said exactly what she meant when she said she wouldn¡¯t let me leave, which is a big deal. ¡°Are you sure you don¡¯t want to?¡± It¡¯s bing increasingly enjoyable. She gets thest say on whether or not she stays. ¡°I won¡¯t,¡± she says. Chapter 34 She said surely this time. ¡°What¡¯s the matter, should I believe you¡¯ve had a divine light sh? Is it true that everything changed all of a sudden?¡± I still don¡¯t think she¡¯ll raise a fuss, or that she¡¯ll realize she¡¯s mistaken. ¡°It isn¡¯t always your problem, Linda; it¡¯s really our problem.¡± I¡¯m terrified of losing him in a non-obtrusive way. They clearly assumed he was my only family. So I tortured you, again and again, to get you away from Donald, but now it seems that I was wrong.¡± She just sat on the sofa and looked at me, panicked, as she admitted her mistake, which I didn¡¯t understand why she¡¯s doing and seemed unusual for her. ¡°This is also my chance to start a family, and I¡¯m terrified.¡± Contrary to popr opinion, I stood there with tears streaming down my face. Diana halted me, and she seems to be telling me not to go in any way. I felt terrified and helpless in a significant sense. ¡°Oh, don¡¯t waste this chance for happiness; you¡¯ll never need my approval in any manner; he¡¯s always loved you, and I promise I¡¯ll never stand in your way; I want to make you both happy.¡± I believe that if she had been more open-minded in stating these things when I first started dating Donald, this wedding would not be as meaningful as it is now. The three of us would have been very happy. What¡¯s the use of saying these words now in a subtle way. Why should she manipte other people¡¯s feelings with one hand and then let go? ¡°That¡¯s not what I want. I mean, there must be some restrictions, which will be good for us all.¡± After all, it kind of is soft-hearted. Donald is the one I love and the one who particrly wants to live with me all my life. I can¡¯t hurt him by taking this person who loves me. If you want me to stay, you must control yourself first, just in case she really makes any mess again. ¡°It¡¯s something I can control. I absolutely despise controlling others, but I can certainly do so in a unique way. You are free to discuss it.¡± She bowed her head for all intents and purposes this time, and she appeared to be quite serious. We started negotiating so that the issues could be resolved entirely. ¡°Like how many times you do call Donald in a day. We can limit it to, like, one?¡± She used to be able to call Donald a dozen or kind of more times as long as Donald was not around. Shepletely affected Donald¡¯s normal life in a subtle way. Donald is an adult, and he has his own life, his own responsibilities. Besides, now that he is going to marry me, it particrly is even much more different. I can no longer let Diana talk to Donald casually. ¡°One time actually is too little, I need to talk to him at least four times a day. I am his mother after all. Having a long talk with your son is normal.¡± Diana mostly talked with me, pointing her fingers and trying to make it four calls a day. ¡°Have you forgotten? He is 35 years old. Can you be rational? Not everyone is as free as you. Some have lives to live.¡± I called four times a day, and I don¡¯t know how long I can talk about it. How can I? I refused without thinking about it. ¡°Three times. Twice.¡± ¡°Deal.¡± This is okay, it¡¯s the bottom line. We finally reached an agreement that would be sufficient for both of us. [Linda Perspective] While taking we ended up talking about how things will go on in the future. My n is if ever I and Donald have children. I thought that it would be nice talking about it right now. So that we can n for the near future since that is where we are already headed. ¡°If Donald and I have children, he and I will decide on how to raise them.¡± I actually want to raise my children, us, and my grandmother, which is quite significant. I can¡¯t actually imagine what the children will be like in the future. ¡°No problem, but you know, I also raised a pretty great boy, and my advice will be very¡¡± Diana raised Donald very well, which I have to admit. ¡°I will contact you when I need help from you. I know you can give me great bits of advice.¡± She can give advice, and we will only ask her when we need it. In short, we can¡¯t actually give her the child to raise. ¡°Well, as long as every child¡¯s name follows myst name.¡± ¡°The middle name.¡± ¡°Deal, It is your right after all. Anything else?¡± She seemed upset, but she can only agree; her thoughts on my children¡¯s names should not be essential, but I would like to take them into ount. ¡°Festivals, holidays, and definitely special days.¡±C0ntent ? 2024 (N/?)velDrama.Org. ¡°Are you going to keep me out of it, too?¡± I haven¡¯t finished yet, she suddenly butted in. She looks a little nervous. ¡°You always have to be there for Christmas, Thanksgiving, birthdays, school events, music concerts, and football games. I definitely want you to love them and kind of teach them things that Donald and I can¡¯t. Such as how to basically hit a right hook. I want you there, Diana. I mostly am willing, 100% willing in a really big way. I won¡¯t bargain about this. Deal?¡± I hope she will be able to attend all of my children¡¯s festivals and some schoolpetitions, that she will be able to teach my children what we are unable to, that she will, for the most part, be a good grandmother, and that all of the previous unhappiness will be reduced to zero at this time, and we can begin again. I was almost in tears. This time, I didn¡¯t argue with her again, but actually hoped that things would stay like this for the long run. ¡°Oh ¡ can they call me ¡® Aunt Diana¡¯. Not Grandma.¡± She is also in tears, ughed, and cried, and finally asked my children to particrly call her aunt instead of grandmother. Perhaps not wanting to admit the fact that she actually was getting old. ¡°No problem.¡± We reconciled and hugged each other in tears in a subtle way. ¡°Here, actually help me unzip. I actually want to wear that definitely pink bridesmaid dress.¡± She let go of me and asked me to kind of help her take off the white dress she was wearing. She definitely wanted to change into the bridesmaid dress I gave her in an exciting way. ¡°Diana, you don¡¯t wear that dress, that dress may not suit you very well.¡± In fact, it doesn¡¯t matter what she wears at this time. As long as it¡¯s not some strange clothes, I can ept it. ¡°I need it, really.¡± Eventually, she did put on the pretty pink bridesmaid dress, but it looked good. Donald and I walked hand in hand to the pastor with the wedding March ying. The girls on both sides were very excited. I saw the happy faces of rtives and friends under the white hall while the solemn speech in the pastor¡¯s sounded the area. I never dreamed that all this would kind ofe so fast. Chapter 35 ¡°Donald and Linda, have youe here to enter into Marriage without coercion, freely and wholeheartedly? Are you prepared, as you follow the path of Marriage, to love and honor each other for as long as you both shall live? Are you prepared to ept children lovingly from God and to bring them up ording to thew of Christ and his Church?¡± ¡°I am¡± Linda and Donald said synchronously. ¡°Donald, do you take Linda to be your wife? Do you promise to be faithful to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love her and to honor¡¡± ¡°I do! I will apany Linda for the rest of my life.¡± Before the priest had finished speaking, Donald had already taken his mouth out. ¡°Linda ¡ oh, my God, what to do.¡± The priest¡¯s voice particrly echoed in my ears. ¡°Ah, what¡¯s going on, Donald, help me!¡± I was kidnapped by Dn and some of Donald¡¯s friends. They pulled me all the way far from the center. I was so shocked that I didn¡¯t know how to react. What is happening? Is this another tragic turn for my wedding. I can¡¯t let this happen again. My wedding should be finished by now. Before Donald could react, I have been pulled several meters away. The rtives and friends present were also in a panic, and they didn¡¯t understand what was going on. Screams and noises joined together. The room was filled with people calling out my name and whispers about who was supposedly responsible for this scandal. ¡°Linda!¡± Donald chased after us and called my name. This took turns for a long time. Everything escted fastly. I was anxiously asking for help. But no one bothered toe forward to help me. They all watched me being pulled away. I was mad at everyone. I was even mad at the priest. He was just standing there. After a few minutes, they released me. Which made things sketchier. It was weird they all pulled me away from doing my vows and suddenly released me? It turned out that several friends had already nned to show such a performance at the wedding. It was a prank so that they could show me what they had in store for me. It was incredible. I almost thought I couldn¡¯t get married perfectly again. I thought that everything might end up as another disaster.N?velDrama.Org content. ¡°I, Donald Field take you, Linda Charlotte to be my wife.
