《One Piece: The Alpha Wolf》 1 Prologue 1/2 - This World Has Nothing To Offer...... "mako....Mako....MAKO, WAKE THE HELL UP YOU LAZY MONGREL!!" Mako D. Carson slowly opened his bright heterochromatic eyes, a deep neon blue and dazzling shade of red catching the light coming from the ceiling above. His expression was one of lethargy mixed with a bit of indifference, a look that perfectly described how he usually appeared. Peeling his face off his desk, Mako used the sleeve of his white hoodie to wipe away the drool as he glanced around the now almost empty classroom. He blinked once before focusing on the guy standing next to him, the one who had shouted at him to wake up. "About time you woke up," The young man said, flashing a smile. "You sure do sleep like the dead. I was beginning to think about grabbing your tail to see if that would work. Luckily, I didn''t have to resort to that." "Lucky for me or lucky for you?" Mako turned his head away from the male and began stretching his arms out in an attempt to get his blood flowing. "You should recall what I did to the last guy who accidentally stepped on my tail." The boy glanced at Mako''s fluffy wolf ears, which were twitching slightly, and managed to repress a shiver after remembering the brutal fight after school. Mako had challenged the accused victim to a fight and had then viciously beaten and humiliated him all because he merely brushed his foot up against Mako''s tail. Whenever it came to his ears and tail, Mako refused to let anyone touch them no matter who they were. "Yeah I remember," The young man said before pulling out his phone. "Which reminds me.....you have a 4 vs 1 challenge today scheduled in about 15 minutes. It''s why I came to wake you up." Mako opened his mouth and gave a loud yawn revealing 4 unusually sharp teeth that stood out, almost similar to a vampires. This, combined with Mako''s ears and tail, had earned him the nickname "The Wolf" throughout the entire school. Mako D. Carson. The name was known throughout the entire network of high schools located in New York City. It inspired both awe and fear into the hearts of many students and there were many rumors circulating around this single name. It was said that this person singlehandedly defeated an entire group of thugs using only one hand and some cleverly placed words. "Oh, so who am I supposed to be fighting? Is it someone decent? At least someone who can take away my never ending boredom?" Mako asked the student still fiddling with his phone. "I know I asked you to find me a challenge, Texin, and I''m beginning to lose faith in you buddy." Texin sighed and put away his phone. "The people I found this time are from the exclusive and expensive school known as U.A high. They all have fought at the international level in Martial Arts and are equally smart as each of them have higher then a 4.0 GPA. In a way, they''re just like you." Mako nodded and stood up from his desk, grabbing his backpack. "Just like me huh? Well as long as they can erase the tediousness and boredom brought about by everday life then it doesn''t really matter. I just hate it when things are too easy." Texin sighed as he fell in step behind Mako, watching his friends back as they made their way out the classroom. To say he was jealous of his friend was putting it mildly. As far as he could tell, literally EVERYTHING came easy to him, and the few things that didn''t, he would easily master it after a bit of time. All things came to him so simply in fact that Mako had grown to despise the world and became bored with everything simlar to how Saitama became bored after becoming too strong. It just didn''t have any enjoyment to it. He didnt even have the luxury of making many friends as too many people were afraid of him, not only because he was so outstanding, but also because of his unusual appearance. The wolf ears and tail, the sharp vampire-like teeth, and his general uninterested appearance were all the incentive people needed to stay far away from him. Of course, Mako didn''t really mind much as he prefered napping to talking to anyone anyways. Mako, having walked quite a good distance without saying anything, stopped just before they reached the entrance of the school, turning his head back to look at Texin. With his keen sense of hearing given to him by his wolf ears, he had heard Texins heart beginning to race faster the closer they got to the school exit. It made him curious as to what was bothering his only friend. "Is there something you wanted to tell me Texin?" Mako asked, the usual blank expression suffusing his face. "Now''s the time to tell me before I step out and win yet another match." Texin sighed before finally relaying the information he had been holding off on. "The 4 opponents your going up against are all girls. If you mercilessly beat up on all of them, then imagine the damage to your reputation.....you sure you wanna do this?" Mako stood there for a second before his face finally changed into a rather rare genuine smile. "Don''t worry, I don''t care about my reputation as long as they''re strong. After all, I''m only going because I finished my nap. Once this is done, I''m heading home to take my afternoon nap. Following that is dinner, and I shall call it a day and get some more sleep. Thanks for the opportunity to fight such opponents, it means a lot. Try not to worry...I got this!" Mako opened the door and walked out, leaving Texin standing there in confusion before he finally snapped out of it and began running to catch up to him. It wasn''t the first time Mako had smiled, but as it was a rare thing, one had to make sure to savor it as you could never tell when the next one would be. The fight against the four cheerleaders....no, against the martial artists was to take place on the schools football stadium, where dozens of people would come to watch. Even some of the teachers would come to observe the spectacle with the excuse that it was their student just executing self defense. In truth though, everyone who came to watch was just a fan of "The Wolf" and his unique form of fighting. Everyone knew who would win in the end, but it was still quite a show as Mako would always try to make each fight last as long as possible. "Well, I''m going to go sit on the bleachers with the other people watching." Texin said to Mako as they separated from one another. "Make sure to give them a sound thrashing. Don''t hold anything back." Mako nodded, his bored expression replaced by one exuding unending confidence. His slow steps that emanated his laziness was replaced by a walk that contained pride in each step. One of the few times that he ever seemed to have a bit of fun was when he was faced with a challenge or even the illusion of a challenge. As long as it was difficult or seemed to be difficult, he would smile and do his best. Fighting was one of those rare moments when he would smile. Max jumped over the gate surrounding the football field and slowly walked to the center of it where four highschool girls dressed in uniform stood waiting for him. His tail wagged from side to side, an indicator that he was rather happy while his face exuded confidence and seriousness. "Tch, YOUR Mako D. Carson?" One of the females asked, stifling a laugh. She stepped forward, causing Mako to give her a quick once over before glancing at the rest of the girls. He didn''t say a single word, merely watching. "You don''t look like much. From the rumors that were going around I thought youd some huge guy that more like an adult." The girls behind her laughed, a disgusting sound that made Mako''s ears twitch. Thought the girls were pretty cute, their laughter made his stomach churn. However, he still didn''t say anything as his red and blue eyes took in every detail in front of him. After a minute of listening to them yammer on about being superior to him, Mako finally spoke. "I don''t know how you girls wanted to play this but let me set this straight. Talking sh*t while one of you analyzes me and my possible weaknesses is mere child''s play." His eyes flickered over the one girl who was pretending to laugh, but had had her eyes trained on Mako the entire time. "You shouldn''t bother with tricks, just come at me. Show me what you can do. If you can get me to enjoy myself then I''ll even spare your beautiful faces while I''m beating on you." The four girls fell silent, not having expected him to figure it out so quickly. They knew he was strong, but not smart as when they reasearched him they saw that he only had a 2.9 GPA and was missing multiple homework assignments. They fogured if they couldn''t win with strength, then they would use their brains. However, what they hadn''t known was that Mako wasn''t dumb, he was just far too lazy to acutally do his homework, preferring to take a nap in the grass instead. "Ha, so your saying that you would beat up on four high school girls without showing mercy?" One of the girls asked loudly, obviously hoping to lower his moral by getting the crowd on her side. "That''s awful of you to do, your nothing but a bully." "Gender has no meaning when it comes to fighting or even to intelligence," Mako said with a dismissive wave of his hand. "Those who use gender as an excuse are considered weaklings in my book. As for being a bully, I find no joy in fighting weaker opponents, however it doesn''t mean I won''t do it if they piss me off which is actually a rather hard thing to do." Pushing his foot against the ground, Mako suddenly broke into a run, startling all four of the girls. They hadn''t been prepared for his sudden attack, but it was obvious Mako didnt care as he swiftly closed the difference between them. Keeping his body low to the ground, Mako made an abrupt stop in front of his first victim, throwing out a palm thrust right into the girls solar plexus. He then followed up by spinning on his left foot and slamming his elbow into chest of another girl, brutally attacking without even a moment of hesitation. All of it happened so fast, that the crowd watching almost had trouble making out what he did, but even so, cheers could be heard as two of the girls dropped onto the floor. Mako waved to the school nurse on standby, waving her to come over. He had knocked both of them unconscious with a single blow and though he was disappointed, he didn''t let frustration cloud his judgement. As the nurse and two other students carried the girls off the field, Mako turbed to face the final two, both of whom had raised their guards. It was obvious that they were mad about his attack, but he didn''t feel the need to defend himself. This was a fight, and in a fight, as long as you didn''t pull out a weapon, anything was fair game. "Your such a cheater," One of the two females screamed out. "We werent even ready. A surprise attack should lead to our side automatically winning." "Do you even know what a fight is?" Mako asked before rushing forward once again. His figure became a blur as he ran straight for the female who had opened her mouth. He ran up, jumping at the last second, twisted his hips, and then slammed his heel into her jaw, sending her flying backwards a few feet. He landed onto the ground and then swept the other girls feet out from under her. "A fight without rules means that anything goes," Mako said with a touch of seriousness and whole lot of disappointement. "If you go into a fight with your guard lowered then your just asking for a beating." Mako, instead of finishing off his last opponent, turned around and walked away from the football field. "Texin, I''m heading home, make sure to spread the word that I''m looking for vetter challengers." He gave a small look to his friend before walking in the direction of his house. //I had to scrap the first chapter as I didn''t like it, but there will a be a 10 chapter uodate Monday as I don''t have wifi at my house 2 Prologue 2/2 - So This New World Had Better Be Exciting "There''s no such thing as fair or unfair in battle. There is only victory or in your case, defeat -Vegeta (Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapter) ----------------------------------------------- Marshall D. Emily''s POV: The sunset on the beach was always a relaxing experience, or at least thats what 18 year old Marshall D. Emily thought as she gazed at the horizon. Various shades of pink, red, and orange exploded across the sky in a beautiful display. It was a picturesque sight that could easily take one''s breath away. Emily had been sitting on the beach for about two hours now, just lounging about as the day came to close. Though she knew she had various chores that needed to be done around the house, she instead opted to come out and relax for a bit. She had been working her ass off for weeks in order to not only provide for herself but to pay the tribute money to the bastard fishmen that came by every month. Ever since the group of fishmen had shown up a little over ten years ago, no one had been able to sleep soundly, and that included her. In Cocoyasi village, everyone tried their hardest to live as best they could. It pissed Emily off to no end whenever she thought about the unfairness of the entire situation. She couldn''t even fight back as, even though she had trained herself and her body since she was young, she was only a single person against an army. Over the years, there had been many a person who had went over to challenge the leader of the fishmen, Arlong, to a fight. The survivors of these matches could be counted on a single hand and each one had come back all bloody and bruised. It wasn''t that any of the men that went were weak, but rather that the fishmen species were just too strong for any ordinary person to deal with. Not only did they have superhuman like strength, but they possessed superiority in numbers making them impossible to deal with alone. "The tribute is due tomorrow," Emily groaned as she pushed herself off the ground and onto her feet. She dusted off her black skirt and red hoodie before fixing her long white hair, making sure that all the sand was gone. "I better head back and finish up my chores before Nalla gets angry again." Checking herself over once more, Emily started the long walk back to her home. It was roughly two miles along the beach from the spot where she was at, but she didn''t mind making the trip. The view of the sunset was a beautiful thing and she would probably do it again tomorrow as it helped to ease her nerves. She gazed up at the sky, its bright vibrant colors beginning to fade as the sun began sinking rather quickly on the horizon. She sighed, sadness replacing her expression as she watched the shades of orange and pink fade into black ink. "Its always the good things that end so qui- mmmmff," Emily was suddenly introduced to the ground as she tripped over something, injesting a bit of sand in the process. Pulling her face out of the sand, Emily let out a long stream of very unladylike things after she spit out the mouthful of dirt. It wasn''t one of her finest moments but at the present she didn''t really care and no one was around to witness it. "GOSH DAMN IT," Emily yelled as she began kicking around at the air. "THE FUCK WAS THA....?" She stopped in the middle of her little tantrum when one of her kicks, instead of hitting nothing but air, made contact with something soft. "Well thats strange, who left a perfectly good dead body on the beach?" Emily said jokingly as she knelt down next to the thing she kicked. Though she had only been joking, she hadn''t expected to actually find a body on her way home. What was more was the fact that the person was actually breathing. "Hey person, if your not dead, then could you wake up? I need to talk to you about paying me compensation for making me eat dirt." Emily said as she shook the body. "I think around a thousand berries outta cover it." She would''ve kept shaking the person but stopped when something incredibly soft brushed against her arm. Acting on instinct, she grabbed it and held onto it tightly in a viselike grip. The thing in her hand continued to move, but a bit slower as its movements were constricted by her grip. "What is this thing?" Emily muttered as she attempted to pull on it. She didn''t get it very far as she met with resistance almost immediately. She tried again after that, pulling it even harder, but again was met with resistance. After multiple tries, she eventually gave up and let it go, allowing the thing to move unimpeded, although it did show signs of lowering itself little by little. Emily turned her attention back to the person lying at in front of her. Though it was rather dark, she could still make out some details on the mysterious stranger. Firstly, he was male, which was evident by getting close and observing his facial features. He was pretty good looking with midnight black hair, a strong jawline and smooth skin. He also had two small fluffy wolf ears that almost looked like they could be real. Secondly, he wore rather strange clothes that weren''t sold on the island, a white hoodie with fur lining the hood and black pants. It was clear that he wasn''t from around here, but that raised a whole bunch of other questions. Curiosity is an astonishing thing as it can lead you to do things that you normally wouldn''t, with Emily being the perfect example. Normally bringing a strange young man lying on the beach to her home would be out of the question for Emily, but due to her overwhelming intrigue and many questions she did just that. Wrapping one arm around the young mans waist, Emily pulled one of his arms around her shoulders and lifted. She wasn''t all that surprised to find that he weighed quite a bit as, judging by his figure, he had quite a bit of muscle on him. It would''ve been difficult for a regular person to carry the man two miles, but Emily had been training for ten years. Carrying this young man was childs play. The house of Marshall D. Emily was in a rather odd place, nesting between two rocks near the outskirts of town. Though the rocks made the house look rundown, the inside was actually quite cozy with 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room. A typical house between a rock and a hard place. It took Emily around the same time it usually did to traverse two miles, around an hour and half, and that was including the dead weight of a young man. She didn''t even show any sign of being tired when she opened the door to her home. Of course while she didnt show any sign of being tired, the frying pan that struck her in the head the moment she opened the door left a small bruise the moment it made contact with her forehead. Emily stumbled back and fell on her butt, dragging the young man along with her. It was clear that her biggest threat had just appeared, a hostile existence that lived to terrorize her. "And just what are YOU doing home so late Emily?" A beautiful woman with long blonde hair and a rather large chest asked as she switched a second frying pan to her throwing hand. "Didn''t I tell you to finish your chores? When are you going to listen?!!!" The woman pulled back her arm and released her ammunition, a flying black projectile that hurtled towards Emily with pinpoint accuracy. The young woman in a moment of panic, picked up the closest thing in order to block the attack, a thing that just happened to be the young man. There was a resounding thud before the frying pan fell and hit the floor, leaving the house in a moment of silence. It was clear that everyone was processing different things at a rapid speed, the frying pan now laying there, destined to be forgotten. "Oh, we have a guest?" the young woman asked as she rushed forward, her eyes now filled with concern. "Whats wrong with him? Who is he? Why did you use him to as a shield you silly girl?" "If I knew that I wouldnt have brought him here," Emily answered as she stood up and backed away. She chose to avoid bringing up the fact that she had used the boys body to shield her older sisters lethal attack. "What do you think we should do Nalla?" Nalla began checking up on the young man, but the more she looked, the nore confused she became. The young man had two rather fluffy looking wolf ears on, like some sort of costume that even came complete with a extremely fluffy looking tail that moved. This coupled together with the outfit he was wearing that she was sure couldnt be bought on the island made her sure that he wasn''t from here. All the weird things aside, the young man appeared to be in perfect health, apart from the rising lump on his forehead from where the frying pan had smashed into it. He was rather handsome, but he also had a rather plain looking expression, as if he was bored. "Well, lets bring him to the guest bedroom for the night," Nalla said as she easily lifted the young man into her arms. "If we keep him inside until the tribute money is paid then there shouldn''t be any problems." "Whatever you say sis," Emily said as she made her way to the bathroom. "If you need me then I''ll be in the shower." "Okay, but just remember that this boy is YOUR responsibility!!" Nalla said to her little sisters retreating figure. "Don''t you even think about shirking it or else you''ll get something way worse the the frying pan." Nalla opened the guest bedroom with her foot and walked inside. Her own curiosity had been considerably peaked when she saw the clothes he was wearing and she intended to ask her own questions once the young man had woken up. Placing him gently on the bed, Nalla pulled of the young mans shoes and placed them neatly in the corner of the room. She then turned around and began to walk out, but stopped. She strolled over to the bed and gazed at the sleeping youth, a young man who looked so innocent yet seemed to be bored of something, as if he were only a kid. She giggled softly before throwing some covers over him and walking out of the room. 3 The God Of Sleeping!! Meeting Nalla and Emily!! Mako opened his eyes, gazing up at the cieling above him. His forehead was throbbing and the spot around the base of his tail felt rather sore as if somone had been pulling on it, but other than that he felt rather relaxed. Getting a good evening nap in after that fighting match was no doubt an excellent choice. Of course, whenever it came to sleeping, it was always a good choice. Pushing himself into a sitting position, Mako took the chance to gaze around the room. Though it didnt show on his face, he was surpised to see that the room he was sleeping in wasn''t his. Before jumping down to sleep on his bed, he had been certain that he had seen his all four of his walls scattered with anime posters. Now however, the walls were bare without a scrap of anime to be found in the entire room. "I appear to be in the wrong room." Mako said as he threw his legs over the side of the bed. "I wonder how I got here, but I guess getting up and walking around oughta clear things up." He rose to his feet and began stretching his body in order to loosen up. However, before he could take a single step towards the door, the doorknob turned and in walked a mature looking woman. Mako, whose brain was still a bit fuzzy, gave her a small nod of acknowledgement before giving her a small once over. In the way of beauty, she was probably the most gorgeous woman he had ever lay eyes on. With waist length blonde hair, a perfect face, a curvaceous figure with a huge rack, and a pair of crystal clear jade eyes, she was the epitome of maturity and sexiness. However, for some reason his instincts were waving a red flag, a feeling he would only get when fighting martial arts masters. When it came right down to it, Mako trusted his instincts more than any amount of beauty as he slowly raised his mental guard. "Oh, your awake," The woman had a sort of surprised expression on her face before it finally changed into one of relief. "I honestly thought you would be unconscious longer due to the frying pan almost smashing your face in?" "Frying pan?" Mako asked. Of course, the throbbing sensation in his returned, allowing him to put together about what had caused the pain. For the first time in quite a while Mako was actually curious about who this woman was and it immediately showed on his face. "Oh how rude of me," The woman said after seeing his curious look. "My name is Marshall D. Nalla but you can call me Nalla. I do hope you can forgive me for hurting you." She dipped into a bow, her chest swaying from side to side as she did so. "My names Mako..... you have a nice chest," Mako said bluntly, nodding in appreciation. He had always been one to say what was on his mind. In his own school however he never had to worry about saying the wrong things as no one had dared to challenge his words. Of course this wasn''t even his own world, let alone his own school. There was a small pause as Nalla processed what the young man had said. No one in the entire village had spoken to her that way, even the fishmen had shown her respect and hadn''t said anything untoward against her (of course this was after she beat down a fishman for hitting one her). This young man obviously had no respect for her, and she would have to show him what respect meant. At least thats what she originally planned, but the moment she straightened up and looked at the young mans face, she changed her mind. The young man calling himself Mako had one neon blue eye and one thats was ruby red, giving him a rather interesting look, but that wasnt what chamged her mind. Though he had complimented her chest, neither his expression nor his eyes held any form of lust, just a clear appreciation of her body. Unsure of how to respond to Mako''s honesty, she coughed a couple of times, her cheeks flushing red in embarrassment as she chamged the subject. "Thank you....I know you just woke up, but I would like us to sit down so we can ask you a few questions. Is that alright?" Mako shrugged his shoulders, not even bothering to question her reason as he sat back down onto the bed. He had always tried to go with the flow of things as it required to much effort to go against it. The only reason he had been well known in high school was mostly because of his desire to beat the crap out of anyone that called themselves strong and/or the ones that touched his tail. "Okay, then just stay here for second while I go and get my little sister." Nalla gave a small smile before turning around and walking out the door, leaving it open as she left. It looked as if she was in a hurry, but Mako didn''t think too much into it. He was tempted to just go back to sleep, but he had a couple questions to ask the two of them. He still didn''t know why he was in someone else''s house and he planned on interrogating the two while he was here. Earlier when he had complimented Nalla, her heart had accelerated pretty quickly, allowing him to draw the conclusion that she either enjoyed the comment or wanted to beat the shit out him. He was interested in how the younger sister would react, and his tail began to wag back and forth at the thought. The fact that this one female had triggered his instincts was more then enough to trigger his intrigue (A/N- This is actually a rather hard thing to do). Moments after the woman had left, sounds of talking could be heard from across the house which was soon followed by multiple crashes and bangs. A girl walked, or rather was pushed, into the room a few seconds later with a completely annoyed expression on her face. From what Mako could tell as he glanced at her ruffled pajamas, wild unbrushed pure white hair, and the tired, annoyed look she had, he assumed she had been forcibly awoken. Though he assumed this was Nalla''s younger sister, he found it difficult to believe that they were related by blood. First off they didn''t look a thing alike, which was made apparent as Mako glanced over her 5''4 frame. She had white hair that reached to the middle of her back and had blood red eyes that currently held a rather cold look. She had a modest chest but had curves in all the right places as was made obvious by her rather tight kitty pajamas. She looked to be around 18-19 and was quite pretty but was still below her older sis in terms of looks. "So your finally awake huh?" The girl asked, her tone one of uninterest. "I would probably have been excited to see you up and about had your presence not interrupted my beauty sleep." She attempted to tame her wild bedhead by running her fingers through her hair. She was largely unsuccessful. "Your pretty cute, but you don''t seem very strong," Mako said, being blunt once again. Unlike with her more mature older sister, this young woman didnt trigger his instincts in the slightest. His instincts only triggered when there was someone equally or much stronger then he was. In his own world, there were few people who could make his instincts react, and even those few people all lost to him after trainging for a bit. The young female frowned at his remark but didn''t say anything as she was currently staring at something above Mako''s head. It was only after following her line of sight that he figured out that she was staring at his wolf ears which had been flickering back and forth every now and then. "No you can''t touch them," Mako said alnost immediately. "No one is allowed to touch my ears or my tail." He said this in a firm tone of voice and made sure to enunciate each word very clearly. "Wait wait wait," The young female took a step forward, a gleam in her eyes. "Those are real? That is amazing...their so fluffy!!!" She looked like she wanted to rush forward and touch them anyways despute what Mako had just said. "Hold up there Emily," Nalla said as she stepped into the room. "Even if its real, which it most likely isn''t.....you can''t just do something that makes other uncomfortable. Show some restraint." She walked over and lightly chopped her on the head. Mako''s ears twitched as he watched th two of them. He never really talked much when he was awake and the only time he did was when it was necessary. It seemed that if he wanted information however, he needed to start up a conversation. "You said you had questions for me? What were they?" Nalla gave a light smile before sitting down on a chair she had brought in upon her return. "First I want to know what Island you came from. That shouldn''t be too hard to answer right? Oh and just for the record, your currently in Cocoyasi village located in the Conomi islands in the East Blue." Mako, who had previously been going over how to best explain where he was from, finally changed his expression from one of indifference to one of complete shock. "Cocoyasi? Conomi Islands? Did I hear you right?" Though his wolf ears could pick up sounds regular humans couldn''t, he had a hard time believing that he had heard the words correctly. He even tuned his ears towards her heartbeat to make sure she wasn''t lying. "Yeah, thats right," Emily confirmed as she rubbed her eyes in order to dispell the last remaining remnants of her blurry vision caused by being forcibly awoken. "The islands that have been subjugated by the notorious fishmen known as the Arlong Pirates. The place your located is Cocoyasi village, which has been under the rule of Arlong and his fishmen for a full decade." 4 Lying Is Bad But Necessary!! Battle Instincts!! Mako didn''t know what he felt. He wanted to call the two females out for lying to him, but their heartbeats had remained steady throughout the conversation. Normal humans had a reaction that caused them to have an slight change of heartrate or have some split second irregularities in the heartbeat that would give them away if they lied. Mako with his wolf ears could always tell when someone was lying simply by listening to their hearts. As far as he could tell, neither one of them had uttered a single false thing since they had initiated contact with him. However, this raised even more questions as he had watched the show One Piece before and was a huge fan of it. He was aware of the subjugation of Cocoyasi village by Arlong. So if he was currently in Cocoyasi village then that meant he wasn''t in his own world anymore, but was now in a fictitious one straight from an anime/manga. This in and of itself didn''t make any sense whatsoever as the whole world had been created by some japanese guy. All these thoughts passed Mako''s head in a mere half second as the gears in his head struggled to come up with a logical explanation. However, once it failed to come up with one, he forced himself to accept the facts and try to figure out some of the basics about where in the timeline he was currently in. Taking his mind off what was logical and trying to figure out when he was was probably the best case scenario. Emily had said that it had been a decade since Arlong had arrived and subjugated the island. Using Nami''s (the navigator for the Straw Hat Pirates) age as a basis, which he assumed was around age 6, then she would be about 16 right now. In other words, he was now 2 years behind the original start of the story. Luffy hadn''t even met Koby yet, let alone Nami. The whole of Cocoyasi was still under Arlongs rule. ''This is perfect'' Mako thought, getting excited after he finished his fast paced thoughts. ''I finally have the chance to fight a strong opponent. This''ll be great!!'' Mako''s expression didn''t really change while he was thinking as all of these thoughts passed through in a mere second. However, his tail did begin to wag back and forth while occasionally thumping against the bed, a fact that was noticed by both Emily and Nalla. "Wait, are you.....happy?" Nalla asked with a small laugh. "Thats so cute that the tail wags like an actual dogs." She looked at Mako''s rather blank expression and smiled. Mako blinked before grabbing his tail and holding it in two hands. He spent a few seconds forming a quick story in his head while also trying his best to gain information. "Do you girls happen to know about the town of Gosa?" "Oh is that where you live?" Nalla asked curiously. "No, I''m just curious as I heard about it on my travels." Mako said with a small smile, a rare sight that actually made them both lower their guards. Technically it hadn''t been a lie as he watched One Piece on his phone whenever he travelled from school to home, or whenever he wasn''t napping. "Gosa village is located to the North of here," Emily responded with a small voice. "Its a small town that faces poverty a bit more than Cocoyasi does. It''ll only be a matter of time before residents cant afford to pay the monthly tribute." "Only depressing news?" Mako asked, his heterochromatic eyes focusing on Emily''s blood red ones. "No good news?" He didn''t really mind it though as her statement gad fold hom what he needed to know. The town of Gosa was still standing as Momoo (the monster from the Grand Line) hadn''t destroyed it yet. Emily shook her head. "Its not that I only have depressing news, its just that theres nothing good about the predicament this whole island is in. However, that aside, I want to know more about you. Who are you and where''d you come from?" Mako nodded and began to weave them a story that he had only recently come up with. Though it lacked excessive detail, it was pure genius for something that he had just come up with. He explained to them how he had been part of a group of adventure seekers calling themselves The Golden Wolf Pirates. Though there were only seven of them in the group they still had a whole lot of fun travelling and having crazy adventures. There was even talk about heading to the Grand Line and looking for treasure, but in the end they didnt make it. They got caught in a storm that capsized the ship and killed everyone apart from him. It was the last thing that Mako could remember about his past. "So your saying that your a pirate?" Emily asked with a small frown. For obvious reasons she absolutely despised pirates. Though she knew that not all pirates were despicable, it did nothing to change her opinion of them. "Yes I''m a pirate, but I feel its more appropriate to call me an adventurer," Mako gazed at the expressions of the two women and, after seeing them frown, decided to make his words clear. "I never did looting, plundering, or any of that other nonsense." "A pirate is a pirate as far as I''m concerned," Emily said bluntly, her eyes flashing with a hint of anger. "I''ll have to ask you to leave!!" Nalla chose that moment to finally speak. "How good are you at fighting? I imagine what with you being a pirate that youd have some basic combat experience." She still had a light frown on her face but she didn''t seem to be particularly upset in any way. "Why? You wanna fight me?" Mako wagged his tail at the thought of fighting against someone strong enough to set off his instincts. "If so, I''d be more then happy to take you on." Nalla laughed as she watched Mako''s tail wagging back and forth, her gentle look returning once again. "Actually I want you to have a match against Emily. She should be more than a match for you. I''m afraid if I fought you, I may end up damaging your cute appearance." Mako''s once happy expression slowly turned into one of disappointment as his eyes shidted over to the white haired female. "Oh, you want me to fight her...I guess I can. However once I win, you have to fight me next." Emily, who already had a slightly angry look, stamped her foot in protest. "You thinknyou could beat me at all you mutt? You think just because your a man and I''m a female that I''ll be weak???" Mako shook his head as he stood up, having returned to his bored and indifferent demeanor. "Gender has no place in a fight. Those that think that gender is an obstacle are just weaklings. It''s just that my instincts tell me that you can''t match up to me." His eyes shifted over to Nalla who was sitting on her chair with an amused expression. "While your sister is setting off all my instincts and telling me that she maybe as strong or even stronger than me." Nalla''s expression changed once again, this time into one of surprise as well as an immense curiosity. "So your saying that your instincts tell you all of this?? How convenient....your instincts must be quite sharp..." Mako nodded before turning his gaze back to Emily who still had a rather pissed expression. "Your rather cute, but know tjat if you fight against me......I will hurt you. I don''t hold back against anyone be they weak or strong. All those before me shall be beaten into the ground." Emily took a step back after seeing the fierce determination in Mako''s eyes and hearing his speech about not holding back. Though she noticed that he had complimented her, she was too angry to even acknowledge it. "If you want a fight with me you filthy wolf pirate then bring it on. I can kick your ass in my sleep!!" "Speaking of which...thats a cute outfit you got on," Nalla said with a giggle as she pulled on the hem of Emily''s cat pajama shirt. "Is that really what you want to fight this young man in?" Nalla turned her head to look at Mako with a teasing expression. "By the way, I''m gonna call you Wolfy if I win against you in our fight.....that okay?" Mako shrugged as he took off his hoodie, throwing it to the side onto the guest bed. "Okay and if I win, you guys have to do any one thing that I say. I don''t know what I want from the two of you yet so it''ll be decided after I win. I WILL win, that is a guarentee." Emily had already fled out of the room when she had been called out her choice of pajamas so Nalla answered in her place. "Very well then. If you happen to win against both us then you may ask us to do one thing without any limits so feel free to choose carefully as you only get one." Mako nodded, stretching his arms a bit as he walked towards the door. "Is there any place that the three of us can fight without having to worry about breaking things?" Nalla gave a small laugh as she stood up, the smile on her face making Mako''s heart quicken. "If you''ll follow me please, the place your looking for is behind the house." As she was passing by Mako, she ran her hand along his tail. "Also, if you lose, I retain the right to touch your ears and tail as much as I want." 5 A Quick Fight......How Disappointing!!!! The backyard of the house basically more woods, same as the front but with a lot more trees. There was a pretty decent sized clearing for a few hundred feet, but other then that there was nothing but grass and trees for as far as Mako could see. The sun had risen to a rather substantial height, meaning that not only had Mako been sleeping for a whole day and through the night, but also that everything was visible to see. "This is where we''ll be fighting?" Mako asked as he took a step outside, following close behind Nalla as his socks touched the bright green grass. Someone had pulled off his shoes earlier and due to the way things had progressed, he hadn''t had the chance to put them back on. "Its seems to be a rather spacious forest to say the least." "Yeah," Nalla said as she turned to face him, her light blonde hair being blown back by a gentle breeze. "We just have to wait here for a moment while Emily changes into her usual workout clothes. The clothes double as a sparing outift not to mention that they''re super comfortable." "Speaking of outifts, are you gonna be fighting me in that?" Mako asked as he gestured to her clothes. Though he didn''t mind seeing her in her skin tight black yoga pants and loose beige sweater, he couldn''t helo but feel that they weren''t the proper attire. "I don''t think they suit the current situation." Nalla looked down at her outift before looking back up into Mako''s blue and red eyes. "Oh, do I not look pretty enough?" She asked with a teasing expression as she took a step closer, her chest swaying slightly. "Don''t you think that this outfit suits me?" Mako took a step back as she stepped forward, his heartbeat speeding up slightly while his face remained unchanged. He was unsure of how to respond to her teasing and would have probably just stood there like a fool with his indifferent expression had he not been rescued by sheer timing. "Okay you mangy mutt, lets get to the part where I kick your ass," Emily said from the side as she emerged the house''s back entrance. She had a rather confident expression on her face as she ran over to them at a casual jog. Emily had on a purple crop top paired with black leggings which, paired with her long white hair, made her quite the sight to behold. Her midriff was on clear view for the eyes of Mako and he had to eventually nod his head in approval after seeing the sexy looking six pack she was sporting. It perfectly suited her slim figure and complimented her tanned skin, giving her a nice and healthy glow. This eventually lead to Mako having to take back his earlier thought about them not being sisters. They were most definitley sisters, but they each had a different type of beauty that made them special. As Emily stopped in front of the two of them, she noticed Mako staring at her, a look of appreciation in his eyes as he nodded his head. Though she wanted to get angry at him for outright staring at her body, she found herself unable to as she couldn''t find a si gle hint of lust or desire in his expression or his body language. It was a rather unusual experience so she just let it slide for the time being. "Okay, so what are the rules?" Emily asked as she began to stretch her arms, preparing for the fight. "I''ll let you decide them to give you a handicap. Make you feel better for losing." Mako, though he had been appreicating her body and nodded in satisfaction, frowned. The one thing that he absolutely could not stand was someone who went into a fight all cocky. While it was fine to have confidence in winning, if you had too much of it, it lead to mistakes and mistakes lead to defeat. It was better to enter with confidence, but also with a cool attitude and calm mind. "In a fight, there are no rules," Mako said as he walked away from her, giving her some space so they could start the match. "But in this particular instance, lets just say that the winner is decided when one side is pinned for more then three seconds. Other then that, no rules. Sound fair?" Emily thought it over for a second as she switched to stretching her legs, her eyes focused on Mako. "Fine, seems fair enough. Don''t come crying to me when I win. Lets get this party started wolf boy." She switched from her stretching her legs into a fighting stance. Nalla watched the two talk with a small smile. She was interested in seeing the ability of this young man calling himself a "Pirate" and had an insatiable curiosity regarding his ears and tail. Even now she couldn''t help but glance over at them as they flicked about with fluffy pitch black fur that was no doubt soft to the touch. She had no doubt that she would win her own match against the kid and couldn''t wait to find out for herself how soft the tail actually was. "Okay, if you two are ready, then you may begin," Nalla said, throwing her hand down for the two of them to start. She was all pumped and excited as she took several steps back before sitting down in the grass to watch the ensuing battle. "Bring it on Wolfy," Emily yelled tauntingly. "I''ll give you the first shot. Lets see what you can do!! Win and I''ll even become a pirate myself!!" She obviously didn''t mean it, but Mako seemed to take it seriously. "Well, if your that keen on becoming a pirate then I guess I should help you," Mako said, his usual blank face changing into one of amusement. "I never hold back against anyone, not even weaker oppenents." Mako crouched low to the ground before pushing himself forward to a speed that bordered on inhuman as he closed the gap between him and Emily. As he approached, he noticed Emily fumble ever so slightly, no doubt surprised that her opponent was so fast, and he deicded to use that opening to his advantage. Using his left hand, he slammed his open palm into her side without so much as breaking stride as he ran past her. The strike knocked the wind out of her, but she was still standing which was to he expected as he hadnt put too much force into it. He was merely testing the waters about how much she could really take. Turning around, Mako bolted back towards the white haired female as she struggled to regain her ability to breathe, her guard completely thrown out of whack as Mako slammed his right hand into her chest. This time, the blow sent her flying straight for a few feet before she crashed into the ground.Mako gradually slowed to a stop which took a couple of seconds as he had been going pretty fast, and in that time Emily had picked herself up off the floor, though she was coughing pretty bad. Dark red blood could be seen dripping from the corner of her mouth. "You haven''t won yet you damned dog," Emily said, spitting out a mouthful of blood. "I refuse to go down." "The winner is Mako....." Nalla stepped in between the two of them just before Mako could begin his next attack. "I honestly don''t think continuing is necessary. Its obvious that the man hasn''t even gotten into fully yet otherwise you''d be on the ground unable to get up." "Your first mistake was coming into the battle all cocky," Mako said as he stood up from his low stance, his tail twitching back and forth. "The moment the fight began, you already lost by having the incorrect attitude." Emily had a rather sour look on her face, but she just wiped off the blood from the corner of her mouth and moved to the side, sitting on a patch of rich green grass. It was clear that she wasn''t satisfied, but she didnt bother arguing as she sat there with a rather distant and sour expression. "Okay, so as per what you said, I believe you''ll be joining me in becoming a pirate?" Mako asked curiously, his usually blank face replaced by one of amusement. "I don''t think that your one to break promises.....and you''ll also be forced to do any one thing I say." Emily''s face almost immediately jerked up after hearing the last part. "Wait what? I never said anything about that? Who said anything about listening to you?" "That would be me," Nalla said without even a hint of embarassment in her voice. "You deserve it after that sorry performance you displayed. To think you''d get caught up in your own confidence that you''d let your guard down to such a degree. Whatever he asks you, I hope you use it to learn from your mistake." "But sis what if he asks for something indecent?" Emily slammed a fist into the ground in rage. "What if he asks for something I''m unwilling to give." "What makes you think that I''d do that?" Mako asked, cutting Nalla off from responding. "I already know what I want you to do, but it isn''t anything bad, at least not as bad as what your saying. I''ll tell you what it is after I beat your sister." "Oh?" Nalla giggled softly, turning her attention to Mako, her eyes taking on a gentle look. "You think you have what it takes.....wolfy? I thought you shouldn''t go in all cocky....." "There''s nothing wrong with confidence," Mako took a stance, his tail wagging back and forth in anticipation and his ears flickering towards each sound. His instincts were telling him that this was a serious oppenent, and he wanted to see what she could do. "So lets get started." "Let the match begin," Emily said as she threw down her hand. 6 The Fight Between Mako And Nalla!! The Ability To Learn While Fighting!! "Only an idiot starts a fight that he can''t win" -Sora (No Game No Life) ---------------------------------------------------------- Emily''s POV: Emily was feeling uneasy. About a minute had passed since the start of the fight and at first she had been happy. Right from the start, her sister had Mako against the ropes, only able to defend as she punched and kicked him. Each blow would land successfully with accuracy and precision, knocking the young male around with apparent ease. She wasn''t sure why she felt so uneasy when she should have been feeling ecstatic. After suffering that humiliating defeat from Mako a moment ago, she was feeling bitter and had wanted her sister to beat him to a pulp. She was a sore loser and she knew that, never taking a defeat very well, but for some reason she couldn''t bring herself to enjoy watching the match. Though the fight was still going on, she could feel a steadily growing sense of uneasiness that she hadn''t been able to identify. She scooted to the side as Mako was sent flying a few feet before landing in front of her. Though it was only for a few seconds, she finally understood why she was feeling this way. Mako looked perfectly fine, not a hint of blood or even a bruise on his face though she was sure she had seen her sister punch him numerous times in the jaw. Even when he jumped back into the fight, he didn''t show any signs of being injured though he refused to fight back. Emily began to watch the fight closely before she finally realized something. The longer the fight went on, the more her times her sister seemed to miss her punch or kick. It was subtle at first, missing only one or two in a short span of time. However it gradually evolved into the point where her sister couldn''t even lay a single finger on him. "No, that can''t be right," Emily muttered as she watched the young male dodge another round of Nalla''s punches. "Is he....learning while fighting? Thats impossible!!" She said that but the proof was right in front of her as the young man sidestepped yet another of Nalla''s kicks. It was as if he knew what she was gonna do before even she did it, something that she initially thought would''ve been impossible. Mako dodged yet another punch before finally counterattacking, grabbing her wrist and using her own momentum to flip her over his shoulder and slam her onto the ground. It was swift and seemed to use Nalla''s own strength against her, not to mention that it looked like it hurt. Emily watched as Mako backed away from her sister instead of pinning her to the ground for three seconds. Instead of finishing up the fight like Emily would''ve done, Mako seemed to WANT to keep fighting and waited for Nalla to get back onto her feet. Nalla eventually climbed back onto her feet after about twenty seconds of getting her bearings. Emily was tempted to call the match in Mako''s win but she stopped after seeing her sister smile after wiping blood from the corner of her mouth. Emily took a deep breath to calm herself down. Though she had panicked a little at first, she had grown up watching her sister train constantly and knew better then anyone just how strong she was. She may have had doubts about if Nalla would win this match, but now those doubts were pushed away as she watched her sister smile and once again face her opponent. Mako waited for his opponent to be ready before speaking. "I''ve analyzed your attack patterns and style of fighting. To be honest, I would recommend giving up but theres no way that I would if I were in your situation so I can''t ask you to do it." "Hmph, if you think your words are enough to intimidate me, then your mistaken," Nalla said as she took another fighting stance. "This time, I''ll get serious and you should do the same." Mako gave a small nod and also took a fighting stance, but Emily felt that this time he didn''t stand a chance. No matter how strong someone was, her sister had always found a way to win against her opponents. The two pushed off from their starting positions and rushed at each other, their bodies low to the ground as they moved swiftly. They met each other in the middle and exchanged blows, this time with Mako actually fighting back and, though it was obvious that Mako could still read her moves, it was as if he was having trouble keeping up with her speed. Some of her hits actually managed to slip past his hands and hit him, but he merely countered each time by slamming his own fist into her stomach. The two of them pushed each other back and forth neither one able to gain the upper hand, a complete stalemate. They had started to move their bodies to fast for Emily to make it out clearly, but it seemed like neither side was any closer to winning even after fighting for more then 5 minutes. Emily pushed herself off the ground and stood up, listening to the shouts and various yells the two were sounding out each time they threw a strike. After around a full 10 minutes had passed and neither one had gained the upper hand, Emily had finally had enough. She raised her hand into the air and threw it downwards. "The match is a draw. If you''ll please return to the house it would be appreciated." Nalla and Mako contimued fighting for a few seconds before slowly stopping and looking over at her. It was clear they didn''t want to stop, but as the referee for the match, it wasn''t up to them. "Don''t we still have to eat breakfast?" Emily asked with a bit of impatience in her tone. She didn''t really care about breakfast at the moment, she merely just wanted to end the pointless fight that seemed to drag on forever. "We also have to deal with Arlong when he comes around to collect out tribute money." Releasing short breaths, Nalla nodded as she struggled to regain her ability to breath. After pushing herself beyond her limit, she was competely tired and Emily could see that she was, but she also knew that Nalla would''ve contimued to fight if she had let her. Her sister was also a sore loser as well and despised losing to anyone. "Can you draw me up a bath?" Nalla asked politely as she bent over, her hands on her knees. "Can you draw one up for me as well?" Mako asked as he also seemed to be catching his breath, although Emily could''ve sworn that he was recovering much quicker then her sister was. "Like hell," Emily shouted as she walked off. "I don''t even know you. Why would I draw you a bath?" However, she nearly tripped from what her sister said next. "It''s okay, you can share one with me!!" "THE FUCK??" Alternate Titles- *The Next Broly* *Playboy Mako D. Carson* *The Fight That Lasted Too Long 7 Nallas Perspective!! Feelings That Have Arisen Marshal D. Nalla''s POV: "Ahhhhhhhh!!!" A sensual sigh escaped Nalla''s lips as she eased her body into the boiling hot water. After a full on fight like the one she just had, a bath was what she needed to erase all the disgusting sweat and dirt from her figure. Hell, even when she didn''t fight she loved a good hot bath as it relaxed her aching muscles and brought her a sense of relief. Nalla sighed in satisfaction as her thoughts began to shift away from the bath and onto the boy who called himself Mako. She had undoubtedly obtained a crush on him after their sparring match earlier, well a love for his skills and prowess was a more accurate description. Their wasn''t any single human on the entire island that had the same potential as he did, it wasn''t even fair to compare him to regular people. The fact that he managed to force her into a draw was incredible by itself. Since birth Nalla had wanted to be strong. So when she was 5 years old, she began training in the ways of karate and had mastered black belt by the age of 13. Of course the age of 13 was when the Arlong pirates showed up, killing both her parents who had tried to resist and leaving her to take care of her 5 year old sister by herself. After that terrifying incident, Nalla intensified her training, seeking to become stronger, strong enough to completely crush the fishmen entirely. She even began teaching her younger sister the ways of karate though she was a slow learner. Strength was all that mattered to her as it seemed to be the only thing that could free them from their chains that was the fishmen. Of course, she knew she couldn''t take them on alone so she went searching through Cocoyasi and Gosa village, looking for people just as strong as she was. She proclaimed that any man who could defeat her would win her heart and be able to court her if they wished. This had the desired effect of bringing each and every horny male out from their hiding places. However, no matter how many of them tried, each and every one of them was far too weak to be of any use to her in a fight against the fishmen so she gave up. Though she was strong, she wasn''t stupid enough to go in all alone as it was an army versus a single above average female. Still she held on hope that one day they would be saved. Even if it wasn''t by her own hands, she vowed that if she found someone stronger then her, even if it was a female, and he or she could defeat Arlong, then she would follow them. It was something she wanted, something that everyone wanted. To be free, to be rid of the bastard fishmen once and for all. Then she met Mako D. Carson, a rather odd existence. Possessing fluffy wolf ears and a tail, at first glance he didn''t look that strong, just something of an anomaly even though he was rather cute. Her opinion quickly changed when he spoke about being a piratemorphing into one of intrigue and even anticipation. She wanted to test herself against him so badly that it was hard to keep her from acting like a kid and jumping around the room. However she kept her calm and had offered to let her sister fight in her stead. Initially she had only planned to test his ablities as she figured her sister would either be stronger or evenly matched with him. To her surprise however, Mako managed to push her sister back, forcing her to end the match in favor of Mako before her sister got seriously injured. Though she was definitely concerned for her sister, she was immensely excited to fight against this mysterious youth. When the fight began, she rushed at him, intending to test the waters and gauge his strength. This of course became impossible to do as no matter how much she kicked and punched him, he never once hit back, just taking everything she dished out. It was only when she knocked him back towards her sister and he got back onto his feet that things changed and she began to get even more excited. Her hits which had been pretty fast before began to miss more and more to the point where she couldn''t even lay a finger on the boy. That''s when she began to take it seriously and so did the boy, matching her in her speed and even surpassing her in techniques as he fended off her attacks, something that had never happened before. By the time her sister had called the match in a draw, she had fallen head over heels for this young boy who couldn''t have been older then 16 years. It was strange but she could FEEL that this young man still had yet to even begin to tap into his potential and honestly, the thought excited her. She felt that this wolf boy was the key that Cocoyasi needed to finally be rid of the Arlong Pirates once and for all. Nalla sighed as she stood up from the tub and opening the drain to let the water flow out. She had been serious earlier when she had said that Mako could join her, but her sister had unfortunately put a stop to it real quick. It was obvious that she would need to have a talk with her as she wanted to get familiar with Mako and maybe get closer with him. She was certain that with his potential, there was no telling how grest he would become in the future and she wanted to be along for the ride. Though it seemed rather strange and even foolish to think this after she literally just met the young man, she didn''t care. She had always let strength do the talking and when it came down to it the boy could easily surpass her within months or even weeks if he trained diligently. Nalla grabbed the extra large towel she had hung up on the sink and wrapped it around her breasts and waist. She checked herself once in the mirror before nodding and opening the door. Right now, she had to focus on the task at hand and that was to prepare breakfast and then give the money to Arlong. After that was all done THEN she figured she would worry about Mako and her feelings about the situation. "Hey Wolfie, its your turn to take a bath," Nalla said as she passed the open guest bedroom. She peeked in to see Mako sitting on the floor with his eyes closed. It looked like he had fallen asleep before getting the chamce to take a shower. "Aww how cute," Nalla said with a small laugh. "It almost makes me feel bad for having to wake him up. HEY, WAKE THE HELL UP LAZY!!!" Mako''s eyes slowly opened and stared at her, causing her to feel slightly self conscious. He had said earlier that she was pretty cute, but she still had doubts about herself and quickly backed away from the room. "Breakfast will be ready in an hour so go and take a bath before you eat ya damn Wolfie." She quickly retreated before he could say anything, escaping to the safety of her room. She took a deep breath and got dressed rather quickly. She didn''t know when Arlong was going to show up as he always came by at random times each month, travelling from house to house with a humongous bag where the money was put. She had a long bath and hadn''t even started making breakfast, making her wonder if the fight had been a good idea as it had put her WAY behind schedule. "God damn it Mako, you had to pick NOW to suddenly show up in our lives? It couldn''t have been one day after?" Nalla let out a small and quiet stream of complaints as she headed to the kitchen. Cooking was something she excelled at and her breakfast was what she most proud of. Easy-over eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes and syrup and a glass of orange juice. This was exactly what she made and even though she said it was going to take around an hour, it actually ended up taking her an hour and a half. "Emily, Mako," Nalla shouted which resound e throughout the whole house.
