This girl is Huan Li, she has been playing with her computer not because she got something fun to do. Instead, she found something amiss happened to her game account! Huan Li, she''s right now is a fresh graduate student, and she''s still 18 years old. About her game account, the game that she has been playing is called Mystery Forest. She doesn''t know why the game called like that, probably because there''s a lot of forest in the game. The game is widely-known and popular not only for her age, even those children and uncle also playing this game. As an open world MMORPG game, the graphic and detail also pleasing for eye. If someone ask her how many point will it got? She would give 8/10. This game also has so many classes and job to play, as for what are they, you can read the Glossary later. Ah, she almost forgot about her game account. She was rummaging her account since this morning and found out that something is missing when she logged in. She thought it was because she has been off for a long time, but then she noticed! It''s not because of that. She probably will become the dumbest person in the world if she doesn''t notice that the thing that she really proud off is gone! It was her guild! Not just that, she lost all her precious weapon, armor, costume and money! Huan Li stared blankly at her computer, seemingly thinking about something. ''It''s not right, where did all of those gone to? Haven''t i tell people already that she will come back?'' There''s a maid in the room, seeing that her young miss confused about something, she asked "Young Miss, is there anything happen?". Hearing her maid worried voice, Huan Li snapped out from her thought. She then glanced at her maid and smiled "Nothing,Ah Xun... Do you remember to who did i share my game account?" The maid called Ah Xun shocked to see the smile on Huan Li face, her young miss always smile but her smile is very weird today. But still she answer it honestly "Young Miss only share your account information to Young Master Bai Chen" Hearing the name that got mentioned, Huan Li face softened a bit. First, she contact the Game Master about her problem, then she tried to send mail to Bai Chen, but her mail won''t go through, she thought it may because Bai Chen is offline. After she finished doing all the thing she need, Huan Li feel tired. She has been in front of her computer since 10 AM and now it''s 9PM at night, she need to sleep. Pushing all problem to the back of her head, she tell Ah Xun to push her wheelchair and help her to sleep. Soon after, Huan Li fall to deep sleep. But she doesn''t know what surprise will she get tomorrow. Oh, i forgot to tell you, Huan Li can''t walk like normal people. But don''t worry it''s not permanent, as for why? She will tell you in another chapter. 2 The Truth The next day, Huan Li wake up when she heard a commotion outside. She tried to reach her wheelchair. After that, she goes to the door, just when she step outside, she hear a woman yelling. She knitted her brows when she heard that familiar voice. Pushing her wheelchair forward, she arrived at the first floor. "Isn''t it Madam Chang, what bring you to come this morning to my place and yelling in the morning?" She said this with a sneer. The woman called Madam Chang stopped her yelling and then she look at Huan Li, her anger rose back but it dissipated once more. "Huan Li, don''t pretend! I clearly messaged you yesterday!" Hearing those, Huan Li remembered that she hasn''t check her handphone since yesterday. With that, she smiled "Madam Chang, i''m sorry but i haven''t check my phone since yesterday". "You!" Madam Chang pointing out at Huan Li with anger in her eyes , "Huan Li, i don''t care what your reason are, but tomorrow you must remember! That you''re not allowed to attend my son birthday! Even if you''re my step-daughter!". After she said this, she directly left without looking back. Seeing Madam Chang back, Huan Li can only sigh. She disturbed her sleep just for those unimportant thing? Even if she doesn''t tell her, she will never go to those kind of party. Not only because she hate it, seeing her step-sibling happy while trampling her under their feet isn''t a thing that she want. Forget it, i will just go and check the news, i think they should be done checking it today. With that, she went to her room and once again play with her computer. Smile on Huan Li face keep fading when she reads the messages, it really contain the information that she needs, but unfortunately those information are so true that make her wish that it isn''t true. The messages is full of ''Your item has been traded to Morning Dew'' and the most shocking thing is that it writes that she handed her guild leadership to Morning Dew and got kicked by Morning Dew! What a coincident! All her precious hardwork are used by Morning Dew! Even if she trust him a lot, that doesn''t mean she is willing to be a dumb person! This is personally sent and checked by the Game Master, even if she told herself it isn''t him, the truth is always there! Bai Chen betrayed her! Right, Morning Dew is Bai Chen. Who thought, the person that she trust the best, betrayed her! For what? She doesn''t seem to neglect him when she''s away from the game! Only 2 reason are possible, he cheated behind her back or he just nice to her because of her belonging! Thinking of those possibilities, her heart sank, the smile on her face gone. She wouldn''t mind if he want to break up with her, but all those hardwork that she gain alone, wasting all her mind and life into it, he stole them all. She just laughed to herself, how can she became so dumb and forget that Bai Chen also a normal man that can be aroused by another woman beside her? 3 Starting Once Again Feeling depressed with that, the cheerful Huan Li can''t no longer be seen. She came back to her 3 years ago self, cold and can''t be approached. Ah Xun, seeing her young miss state also feel depressed, when her young miss was 15 years old, she''s just like this, it was also the worst state that happened to young miss life. Because she will not talk, she will not smile, and she will never leave her bedroom. As her maid for so many years, Ah Xun decided to try her luck. "Young Miss" she called her softly, no answer. After a long time, she arrived at Portia, it can be said that this is the first city/beginner city in the game, but the graphic is so epic that she can''t help but to explore and see all the details. She''s wondering what will it be if she see this with that virtual-reality gadget! Satisfied, she tried to go to the storage to see if she has any money in here. When she arrived at the storage, she talked to the npc and realized that her intimacy with the storage keeper is maxed! Not only that the npc is very kind to her, even her storage is so neat and arranged. She thought that the first city wouldn''t have anything important in it, but then she realized, she has so many important stuff in the storage! If people just see it at a glance, they probably will think that she put trash in her storage, but her storage is full of key, box and scroll! These thing looks like a beginner or starter box and scroll, the key also look rusty and just like a normal drop. But those key actually the key to every city secret storage! Even if the secret storage can''t contain as much as normal storage do, and mostly people use it to put random stuff. But it isn''t the case for Huan Li! Even thought she never hide anything from Bai Chen, she actually forgot about her secret storage. Because, as the name say that it''s a secret storage, they need to input the password before they can access the storage, the password is her real name, that''s why she doesn''t bother to tell Bai Chen. She doesn''t want anyone to know about her real name, including him. They''re just a couple in game, if they continue to more serious relationship, she probably will tell him. But that''s not something that she need to care anymore. In her secret storage, she can see every town tower rare drop and rewards, she always like to be the first, that''s why she has reward for first kill in her storage. It''s all very rare and only 2 person in the whole game have it, one is her and another one is a guy who got first kill, she doesn''t care who''s that person is, he probably already quit and left the game. As for those box in the storage, some of them are legendary, epic and rare costume, well she''s still a girl that love fashion and costume, so it''s not shocking that she has those in her storage, it doesn''t mean that she doesn''t like the costume that she put it in storage, it''s because those are too precious that she can''t use them. Some boxes are high-end weapon and armor. Looking at those boxes, she feels like she just used a cheat and got all good stuff in her storage! It isn''t like she''s starting from beginning! But nevermind, it''s still the best, she doesn''t want to start with nothing. After all, she has been accostumed for being strong, even if she''s alone. For those scroll, she can''t use any of them right now. Actually she can, but she isn''t going to play a character that has been dumped by someone else, she''s going to start anew and invest her mind into it, because she made a lot of mistake on her first character too. 5 Start - One Setting up her mind, she then start to move all thing that she still have in the character then shedeleted her character easily. Seeing the cooldown as she delete the character, she doesn''t feel regret or fear, she just feel refreshed, like something weighing her already lifted. When the character totally deleted, Huan Li directly make a new character, but when she finally finished to costumize them, she can''t finish! A notice suddenly pop up! ''Sorry, you can''t play this game with computer anymore.'' Huan Li knitted her brows when she saw those notice. Such timing! She just finished everything she needs, then this game told her to directly use the gadget! Seeing that Ah Xun hasn''t come back, Huan Li decided to rummage through the game forum, she hasn''t visit the forum since 2 months ago, she need some information about the new update. When she entered the forum, headache start to hit her again. What''s with all these change! It''s totally different from what she saw 2 months ago! The interface already changed, it''s even livelier than before, and look more pleasing to the eye. But still! She can''t handle all these change! Huan Li tried to explore the ''new'' forum and found what she''s looking for, not only that she found it. She can see a lot of post about the new update, while looking at it one by one. She realized that she is completely far behind! There is so many updates and new stuff, she actually can feel it since yesterday, but she hasn''t officialy try them yet, because she''s too busy with her problem! There''s a new system, npc, city, item, costume and much more! She needs break! She can''t handle all of these, the game developer definitely isn''t a human, they can update every 1 week or even every 3 days! No wonder she feels that everything is different, they update too much! After seeing all the new updates, Huan Li then go back to the home sites, she saw a pinned post about an event, she could care less about it, she needs to rest firstand digest everything before start thinking about joining an event. 6 Start - Two With that, Huan Li closed her eyes. She feel really tired, she got too many shock since she came back. She wondered, when will all these problems stop coming to her. Even if her heart feel sad, she will never cry, even when her step-sibling and step-mother bully her, she never waver. After all, they aren''t worthy her tears. Thinking about that, Huan Li didn''t realize that she fell asleep. When Ah Xun arrived, it was night time. The first thing that she see is her young miss sleeping pose, afraid to wake her up, Ah Xun try to walk stealthily into the room. First step, safe. Second step, still sa- Suddenly a lazy voice can be heard "Ah Xun, how many years has it been since you start serving me?" "You- young miss , i served you since 8 years ago." Her young miss really like to surprise her! Why she doesn''t say anything when she woke up?! Ah Xun can be said is her first and only maid, so she just smiled at her. Even if she accompanied her for 8 years, she feels that she can''t trust her too much. The incident in the past made her like this. That''s why they provide glasses, ring and bracelet. Ah Xun doesn''t know which type that you like, that''s why i bought 3 type." Ah Xun said this with her head bowed. She bit her lip, her young miss really like accesories, but she doesn''t know which one suited her, that''s why she thought to bought 3 of them. Before she has a time to react, a notification suddenly popped up in front of her! ''Welcome to the world of Mystery Forest, right now you''re in the first step of the game'' ''First, please choose your main race'' Huan Li is shocked! First she look at what race are there. There are Human, elf, spirit, demibeasts, dwarves and many more. Each race has their own special classes, and each player can have max to 5 races in case they want to try each of the classes. But to have 5 races at the same time, it doesn''t cost money but your luck! Because you need an item to unlock every races that you want. Huan Li still remember that earlier when she looking through the forum, some people willing to pay at high price just for these items. She doesn''t need much time to decide what races she want, she directly choose human. When she was looking at the new classes, she immediately fell in love for a human race class! That class is called cleric. Even if the review for it was really bad, Huan Li doesn''t mind. Not many people play this class because they thought it was useless and weak. After choosing her race, the game then tell her to choose a class. She directly choose a cleric, even if the other classes look so good, she can try them later, she will mainly play as a cleric for now. After she choose the class, her body suddenly bathed in white light. Many people still play cleric because of it good looks, definitely top notch. ''Please costumize your look'' the sytem sounded again. Suddenly the whole room looks like a mirror for her, she can see her own reflection. Earlier, when she saw the cleric looks, she''s still shocked. The virtual-reality system make almost a replica of herself. The pale white face, phoenix eyes, indifferent eyebrows, and small mouth. Her face can be considered as a beauty. How long has it been since the last time she saw herself in the mirror? But she doesn''t want to show herself or make people wow-ed because of her face, she isn''t planning to do that. She then set the original-ness to -25 , even if some feature in her face still can be seen, but it doesn''t really show her original looks anymore. If she costumize her looks, no one will be able to recognize her. Because it''s gonna be her permanent look, Huan Li took a very long time before finally finishing all the costumizing. Looking at her feature in the mirror, she''s satisfied. Well, even if she doesn''t want anyone to wow at her feature, she still made herself looks elegant. After all, she''s still a girl that care about her looks. Her character looks elegant and relaxed, she has a long white hair with a bang covered her forehead,her shining blue eyes added with simple makeup give her a simple yet elegant looks. When Huan Li checked at the time, she realized she has spent almost 2 hours just to costumize her character! It can''t be helped, you can''t make yourself beautiful just with 5 minutes. She then pressed the enter button. The system sounded ''Congratulations on finishing the first step of the game, now please enter your name'' Huan Li furrowed her eyebrows, name.. She totally forgot about that, she spent her time thinking about the name but can''t come up with any name! She must admit, this is the most difficult part in the game. Gave up, Huan Li then try to randomize her name. But there''s no good recommendation for her. She almost gave up again until she saw a name ''Dawn Light'' without much thinking, she directly choose the name and entered the game. 8 Portia, The Beginner City The moment Huan Li entered the game, she found out that she''s at the entrance of a town. She feels a bit familiar with the entrance. She found that she''s standing rooted to the ground. Her tears unknowningly fell, she can feel her feets! Even if it''s not real, only a game. Huan Li still feel very happy, only her know how much she miss this feeling. She really hope that this feeling is real. Weeping her tear off, Huan Li start to walk towards the city, every step is like a dream for her. If she need to choose, she will choose to stay in this dream forever. When she entered the city, she heard a voice ''Welcome to Portia City, The Beginner City''. ''So this is Portia City, no wonder it feels familiar''. Seems like the developer really paying attention to some details, it''s clearly just a beginner city, it''s not like many people will stay here. But the city is so big and doesn''t look like a beginner city at all! She''s curious how will the next city looks like. After that, a notification popped out once more ''Welcome to the beginner city! Do you want to follow the newbie tutorial or skip it?'' ''Yes'' ''No'' Huan Li choose ''Yes'' , even if she''s considered as a veteran in the game, there are a lot of new thing that she probably need to know as a newbie after 1 year. The tutorial always boring, she keep running from one place to another, talking to random NPC and do random stuff. There aren''t many new thing in the beginner tutorial, she shouldn''t click yes back then! She''s bored as hell now. After so many tutorial , the system finally announced that the tutorial has been ended ''Welcome to Mystery Forest once again and enjoy the game!'' with that the voice dissapeared to the thin air. Huan Li finally can breath a sigh of relief, that took almost half of her life to keep following the tutorial! But suddenly the moment the voice dissapeared, many people can be visible to her eyes. It''s not just 1 or 2, it''s super crowded! ''WTH! Is this really a newbie city? Why there''s so many people here!'' Huan Li tried to get out from the crowd, she learned that it was the first day of an event, and the event started in Pheria Village, that village is close to Portia and that explain why so many people here. They are renting a house to live here! She doesn''t know what happen to her these days, why she always got into such timing. Finally, she got out from crowd and she go to explore the city. She always like the graphic of the game, so exploring like this is her favorite! While taking stroll, she heard a lot about the event that currently held. It can be said that the event isn''t hard but it isn''t easy too. The prize for this event also not really bad, the lowest one can be said is rare item and the most wanted one is the legendary pair of costume. 9 Even @@ The costume in Mystery Forest isn''t just for display, each costume has it own effect and buff. As the name itself, Legendary costume looks very good and the costume effect itself only second to Mythical costume. There''s only a pair of this Legendary costume in the whole game, of course there will be a lot of people in Portia. She really interested in this costume, what make so many people come and willing to rent a house just for it? She then open the forum and go to the pinned post, she could tell that this event is a very simple event, but it took your patient to win the event. She scrolled down and see the costume, it''s a pair of costume, female and male. The female costume really attract her attention, it was a dress or can she describe it as kimono dress? Because the dress design is the combination of both, with the light purple and white combination, added with long sleeves and embrodiered with light purple colored flower, the dress give an elegant feeling. The costume has a white high heel boots, a mask with flower pattern, and some other accesories. She really like the costume! Not only the design, the feeling and the color, she really likes it! Huan Li decided to read through the post once again, she need to get the costume at any cost! The event is very simple, the player will be put in a labyrinth with 4 layers. The difficult thing is the labyrinth has a lot of door that the player need to choose in order to reach the Game Master at the end of the labyrinth. The first player to reach the Game Master will win the event and another player will be teleported back to the city. Reading the word labyrinth, Huan Li really liked a game like this. She likes to chalengge herself with something difficult. This event will be fun for her, atleast if she doesn''t get the costume, she still can enjoy the game.@@ 10 Bandit Player? Huan Li happily exited the forum, the main event will begin in 2 days. Now, she need to level up and find a job to do. She need to get stronger and rich in order to restore her previous state. First, she need to buy some potion. She heard that cleric has a low defense until it got it upgrade. Huan Li then go to the storage, she remember that she still has some money there, she can withdraw them for now. Not long after, Huan Li arrived in front of a big building. ''Is this the storage?'' In her memory, the storage in Portia was a small building with a npc in front of it. But the storage in front of her totally different from the one in her memory! Not only there''s no small building, there''s no NPC in front of it! But seeing a lot of people coming in and out the building, it''s definitely the storage. ''Such a big difference'' , she then went into the building. Inside the building, it looks like a bank in real life. Looking around, she found that the npc that she has been looking for is smiling at her and walking to her. "Young lass, you never change! Still a newbie that need my help to grow! Come, what do you need? This old man will serve you" , the NPC that talking to her isn''t even half of her height. But hearing the familiar tone, she remembered that she has max intimacy with the people in this city. Back then when she''s bored, she will often come and chatting around, no wonder that even the storage owner is familiar with her. "Old man, i want to withdraw some money, can you show me how?" Huan Li said this with a smile. The old man just smiled and told her to follow him, Huan Li followed him without thinking much. But she doesn''t know that many eyes has been following her until she dissapeared with the storage owner. They were gossiping about her , most of them would say "I never know that we can extort money from NPC, i even can''t talk to storage owner unless he''s on duty. But today he''s attracted by some random beauties, such weird sight." If Huan Li heard those words, she probably will laugh. Serve yourself! She is the friend of the whole city villagers, that''s a normal thing. Huan Li feels like the useless thing back then is very helpful now. After withdrawing her money, she directly exited the building. The moment she stepped outside, someone is blocking her path. There are 3 people in front of her, each of them are high leveled player. She doesn''t seem to provoke anyone? Why did they block her path? One of them suddenly swinging their weapon at her, Huan Li immediately dodged it. What the hell is their problem? But she''s in a city, why they can attack her? She then take a look at those 3 ''high leveled player''. They are warrior, gunner and robot-user. Such disadvantage to fight those classes as a cleric. She then took a deep breath and tried to ask them "May i know what are you guys problem with me? To attack someone in the city, aren''t you guys scared if the guard caught you?" Deep in her heart, she really want to beat them up. But she''s currently level 1! Right, just level ''1'' , she wanted to level it up right after she buy her potion, but problem always knocking at her door without any reason! The one that swinging his weapon at her sneered, "Guard? So what! We are Portia top notch bandit, we aren''t afraid of those cheap guard!" ''Ah, so it''s bandit player.. No wonder they can attack her even if it''s safe zone'' . Bandit is one of the job that you can have in the game, they''re similar to red player. But they rob the victim money for themselves. She has heard of this job before, but she isn''t a bit interested or even scared of them. Even if she started again as a newbie, she isn''t willing to get robbed at the first day she played the game! 11 Receiving Help She need to think what to do to escape from these so called bandits. She actually can use a scroll and escape from them, but it took 5 seconds before she got teleported, they will notice it and use scroll to chase her too. Argh, she doesn''t know what to do, she can''t run from them unless she give what they want or defeat them. But she''s just a newbie without anything else beside her pet and mount! And those thing also still sitting in her house and she can''t use them! Why she can''t just go and spend her time playing peacefully. Surpressing her thought, Huan Li try to look around for help. But all she can see is people giggling at her, she couldn''t help but to raise her eyebrows. ''Did she just provoked someone? Why people seems so happy about this?'' She clearly just got into the game for 4 hours, she has been following tutorial all day long and she doesn''t talk to anyone yet. Weird, these people probably some sadistic that like to see things like this. She actually want to try the new combat system, but she doesn''t think that it''s posibble for now. She will just go off and log in again tomorrow. Just when Huan Li want to press the log out button, a man voice sounded behind her. "You guys, can''t even let a newbie go?" She vaguely remember that there''s no special city for each race, when she hit level 35, she only have a choice to go to Orangie. So she has no idea how her race''s city looks like or where is the city. However, she can reach there if she keep looking at her map. Seems like that will be her only choice for now. She got no money left, she might just go and pick up some missions and doing it while she''s hunting around. She usually won''t go hunting/leveling without any target though. They have 3 type of quest, there are daily quest, main quest and job quest. She will pick the daily and main quest, the daily quest is pretty much random so she got to kill 50 Ice Bell monster in Ice Prison. She got the grade S for her first daily quest, such luck! The reward is 100,000g, that is a lot. But, S grade mean that the quest isn''t an easy one. Ice Prison is a dungeon or can be said as a tower, the enter is limited to 3 times a day and it was very hard. Huan Li followed the map that she has been given and arrived in front of the tower, just like the name. Ice Prison is surrounded by ice and built from ice too, however it''s still a prison. There aren''t much people coming to the tower this time, they already used all the chance right after the reset time. The monster that she was told to kill was Ice Bell, a monster that look like a drop of water made from ice. The monster level also level 45 like her, but the difficulty was in how she reach the room that full of them. She need to prepare a lot of potion, but because she doesn''t have much money, she can only bring 50 potions. The monsters inside hits very hard, and there''s a possibility that she will meet the Ice Prison Guardian or even the area boss, Ice King and Ice Queen. Every dungeon in Mystery Forest has it stories, just like the Ice Prison. The prison was actually a castle of the Lime ruler but it soon got abandoned after the first king died and followed by the queen, and soon the castle became a prison. One day, the whole castle became frozen in ice and since then it got called as Ice Prison. Once was a Castle, now it is a Prison. The Prison first floor isn''t really that crowded with monster, she can sneakily walk and arrived at the second floor. The bell is in a room that located in the fourth floor. While walking around to find the stairs to third floor, she was thinking about the area boss. In the forum, everyone said that no one ever see the Ice King or Ice Queen. The dungeon was released around 2 months ago, but ever since then, no one ever see the area boss. When she found the stairs, she saw a girl descended from the stairs. She seems not affected by her surrounding, even when she saw her, she isn''t affected even a bit.
