《Earth Shattered, Everyone Starts the Space Drifting Era》 Chapter 1 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios ¡°It¡¯s time to knock off!¡± Zhang Bei stretched his neck and heaved a sigh of relief. After cleaning up, Zhang Bei walked to the side of the road and opened a delivery app, ¡°1.5 kgs of crayfish, some mutton skewers, and cold beer. Perfect!¡± Zhang Bei happily confirmed the payment. Just as he was entering the password, the screen of his phone suddenly went black. ¡°No way? This phone broke after only a month?¡± Zhang Bei tapped and knocked, but the phone did not react at all. Just as Zhang Bei was about to put away his phone and find a place to repair it, his phone suddenly lit up. Zhang Bei picked up the phone and saw only two bright red numbers ¡°60¡±. He did not react immediately. The number was changing rapidly. 59 58 ¡ When Zhang Bei reacted, the number was already at ¡°30¡±. ¡°F*ck!!!¡± Zhang Bei did not know what would happen. He could only stand there and wait quietly. ¡°0¡± The phone turned black again, and the silence was terrifying. Suddenly, a red light spread out from the horizon like the morning sun. No, how could the morning sun have such a hot light! Everywhere the red light went, it turned into dust. Zhang Bei immediately turned around and ran. However, who could escape their fate? After a while, he closed his eyes and resigned himself to being devoured by the red light. After an unknown period of time, Zhang Bei slowly opened his eyes. What greeted his eyes was a pitch-black sky. In the middle, there were many stars that kept on flickering. Occasionally, there were a few shooting stars that streaked across the sky. Zhang Bei stood up and looked down at the ground beneath his feet. Instead of calling it land, it was more like a stone. Zhang Bei calculated the size in his mind. It was about ten square meters. The space was only about ten square meters. After circling around, there was nothing except some soil. However, what puzzled Zhang Bei was that although he had walked to the back of the stone, he had not fallen due to the gravitational force. While Zhang Bei was puzzled, a ¡°ding¡± sound suddenly came from space. Zhang Bei looked at the sky and saw a beautiful woman walking over from space as if she was walking on flat ground. The beauty reached Zhang Bei in an instant. A few lines of data flashed across her eyes, and she spat out emotionless words. ¡°Earthling Zhang Bei, welcome to Space Drift. I am 008. I will explain the rules of space to you.¡± ¡°First, the place you are standing now is where you will live. You can also treat it as a space carrier and control it directly with your thoughts. ¡°Second, do not leave the filtered membrane around the asteroid. This membrane can help you resist the radiation in space and adjust the atmosphere and gravity inside the membrane, making you feel the same as you did on Earth.¡± ¡°What if you leave the membrane accidentally?¡± Zhang Bei asked. 008 replied coldly, ¡°Death.¡± ¡°Third, all the supplies you need, including but not limited to food and water, are scattered in space. Please search for them yourself.¡± ¡°Fourth, survive. Try your best to survive!¡± 008¡¯s tone became warmer when she said this. ¡°Do you have any questions?¡± 008 asked. Zhang Bei rubbed his hands. ¡°I¡¯ve been wanting to ask. What¡¯s that shiny thing above your head?¡± ¡°This?¡± 008 removed the floating ball above her head. ¡°What is this?¡± Zhang Bei took it from 008 and observed it carefully. It was cool to the touch, but did not feel like crystal. It felt like ice, and it was shining. 008 looked at Zhang Bei touching the ball with a wretched expression and smiled. ¡°Do you want it?¡± ¡°Ah???¡± Zhang Bei was surprised. ¡°No?¡± 008 smiled charmingly. Zhang Bei was stunned, but the coldness on his hand made him come to his senses. ¡°If I want it, what can I use in exchange for it?¡± Zhang Bei held the ball and asked 008. He did not believe that 008 would be so kind as to give it to him for free. 008 thought for a while. ¡°You don¡¯t have anything I want now. How about this? When you have what I want, I¡¯ll come to you again. At that time, you have to give me what I want unconditionally. How about that?¡± Zhang Bei lowered his head and rubbed the bead. After a while, he looked up. ¡°Sure, but I want to set some ground rules.¡± ¡°Oh?¡± 008 asked curiously, ¡°Tell me.¡± ¡°Firstly, you can¡¯t hurt me. Secondly, you can¡¯t hurt my family. Thirdly, you can¡¯t hurt my friends,¡± Zhang Bei said seriously. 008 smiled. ¡°Okay, I promise.¡± Zhang Bei nodded. 008 took a step back and returned to her indifferent self. ¡°The rules of space have been explained. Now, activate the cosmic system for Earthling Zhang Bei.¡± Then, 008 turned and left the way she came. Zhang Bei opened the system and clicked on the personal information column. Name: Zhang Bei Age: 25 Gender: Male Code: JuF0006 Intelligence: 110 Physical Strength: 50 Health Points: 100 Cosmic Pollution Value: 0 ¡°What is this cosmic pollution value?¡± Zhang Bei was very puzzled. ¡°And what is that code?¡± ¡°Forget it, I¡¯ll find out eventually. Let¡¯s see what use this system has.¡± Zhang Bei exited the personal information interface. What greeted his eyes were several options. [World Channel] [People Nearby] [Exchange Platform] [Inventory] [Appraisal Center] Zhang Bei opened the World Channel first. Once he entered, he saw that a group of people was already chatting excitedly in the group. The other person is growing hair: What is going on? A girl said many things just now and left. They didn¡¯t even put me in the salt: She even told us to not leave this stupid bubble! So what if I leave? Mighty cat: Brother is a real man! Day Toffee: Has anyone found food? I haven¡¯t eaten since yesterday. Also, it¡¯s so cold here. I feel like it¡¯s -20 degrees Celsius. Mighty Cat: Ah? It¡¯s so hot here that I¡¯m about to collapse! Zhang Bei was puzzled. He suddenly thought of the code in his personal information interface and gave himself a nickname, ¡°North¡±. North: Are there any astronomers? What are the eight major planets called in English? Super Cute: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Lord Counting Sheeps: My code starts from Mo. Where am I?? Super Cute: Then you might be on the moon. Mighty Cat: I¡¯m Ne¡ Am I on Neptune? Day Toffee: F*ck, I¡¯m on Me. I was wondering why it was so hot! Then this big fireball in front of me is¡ Super Cute: You guessed right. It¡¯s the sun¡ Zhang Bei was extremely glad that he was living in a more suitable place. He looked at his code and confirmed that he was on Jupiter. ¡°But what is this F, is it an area?¡± Zhang Bei was puzzled. While Zhang Bei was studying the system, the ball 008 had given him earlier was emitting a weak white light.. Chapter 2 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios Zhang Bei looked at the ball, but did not understand what this white light meant. ¡°Isn¡¯t there an Appraisal Center in the system? Can it appraise what this is?¡± Zhang Bei thought to himself and opened the Appraisal Center. Entering the Appraisal Center, Zhang Bei seemed to arrive in another space. In front of him was a long table that looked like a high top bar table. Behind the table was a green-skinned dwarf wearing a pointed hat. ¡°What would you like to appraise?¡± the dwarf asked enthusiastically. Zhang Bei took out the ball and handed it over. ¡°Since you¡¯re the first customer, I¡¯ll give you a free appraisal!¡± The dwarf reached out his green hand and took the ball, surprise flashing in his eyes. ¡°This is a good thing!¡± The dwarf closed his eyes. After a few seconds, he handed the ball to Zhang Bei. Zhang Bei accepted it with confusion, then suddenly realized that the origin and usage of the ball were already engraved in his mind. ¡°Individual Civilization¡ªSpace Detector: The fruit of the Prophecy Tree. It blooms once in a billion years and bears fruit after a billion years. There is only one fruit every time. It is a rare item of the Individual Civilization.¡± ¡°It can be used to detect items, lifeforms, and unknown dangers. As the value and danger levels increase, the light will change.¡± Zhang Bei was stunned. It could be used to detect items, lifeforms, and dangers? What did this mean? Early opportunity! Now that the Earth was gone, all the people were drifting in space. What was the most important thing? Without a doubt, food was the most important. The universe was boundless, and there was limited food. With this detector, he was naturally in a very advantageous position. After leaving the Appraisal Center, Zhang Bei was refreshed. He decided to try the detector¡¯s function first. He stared at the detector and focused his thoughts. As the detector emitted white light, a cold voice sounded in his mind. [A hundred kilometers southeast, there is a box with pure water and beef jerky.] Zhang Bei didn¡¯t hesitate. What he needed most now was food and water. He had not eaten anything even before he was sent to space. He connected to the asteroid and flew southeast. He was amazed by the speed of the asteroid. He reached his destination in less than half an hour. Zhang Bei looked around and sure enough, there was a light ball floating not far away. ¡°Looks like this is what the detector is talking about.¡± He controlled the asteroid to fly closer. With a pop, the light ball entered the asteroid space and a wooden box fell in front of him. Zhang Bei opened it and saw two bottles of water and some wrapped beef jerky. Without hesitation, he opened a bottle of water and drank half the bottle. After eating a third of the beef jerky, his hunger finally dissipated, and his thoughts calmed down. Looking at the water and beef jerky in front of him, Zhang Bei fell into deep thought. The universe was boundless, and food was limited. Therefore, he had to gather as much food as possible. Survival was the absolute principle. After making the plan, Zhang Bei didn¡¯t hesitate. His thoughts sank into the detector and searched for nearby items. When the detector glowed, it meant that the food was nearby. When he focused his attention on it, the range of detection increased greatly. However, Zhang Bei felt that he had not reached the detector¡¯s limit. There should still be room for improvement and a larger detection range. Of course, this was all in the future. The most important thing now was to gather food. Since there was nothing in the vicinity, he could only observe while moving the asteroid. The others were not so lucky. The World Channel was filled with wails. ¡°Who has food and water? I¡¯m about to starve to death. I¡¯ve been driving the asteroid around, but I haven¡¯t found a single strand of hair.¡± ¡°Sigh, I searched for a long time but only found a piece of chewing gum. I have already sucked all its juices, but I can¡¯t bear to spit it out. This is too difficult¡¡± ¡°It¡¯s the same here. I only picked up some everyday materials. There is not even a single trace of food.¡± ¡°No way, no way. Could it be that someone still hasn¡¯t found food? I rode on the asteroid just now and knocked into half a loaf of bread. How fragrant!¡± ¡°Is the person above the legendary Chosen One? The food came knocking on your door?¡± ¡°Boss, please take me into your team. I¡¯m white and beautiful. As long as there is food, I can do everything you want.¡± ¡°Previous poster, where¡¯s your integrity?¡± ¡°Integrity? I left it on Earth, now that the earth is gone, how can you talk about integrity with me?¡± ¡°¡¡± Zhang Bei had no idea of the conversation going on in the World Channel. Right now, his face was glowing red. He was determined to be a happy space scavenger. Just now, he had picked up some things. A shirt, a book, and a few pieces of wood. Although there weren¡¯t many things and they weren¡¯t very useful, this was enough to prove the power of the detector. As long as it was within his detection range, he could detect all the items. After picking up a few more pieces of wood, Zhang Bei stopped. He leaned against the asteroid and turned on the system to check his status. Name: Zhang Bei Age: 25 Gender: Male Code: JuF0006 Intelligence: 110 Physical Strength: 50 Health Points: 100 Cosmic Pollution Value: 0 Seeing that there was no change in his personal information, Zhang Bei heaved a sigh of relief. It seemed that using this detector would not affect his health points. Then, he opened the Exchange Platform. The items inside almost dazzled him. He glanced over the items and found a common point. Everything here was no exception. They all wanted to exchange for food and water. Some things even tempted Zhang Bei, but he still endured it. Food and water were the real necessities. Although he had some beef jerky in stock and a cheat like the detector, the detector was not specialized in detecting food. What if he did not find food next? After leaving the Exchange Platform, he opened the World Channel and found that it was extremely lively. However, the topic was still food. He looked at it for a while before closing it. Survival was king. Just as Zhang Bei exited the system, he realized that the detector was flashing red rapidly. Before he could react, he felt something hit the asteroid he was riding on. The inertia almost caused Zhang Bei to fly out of the range of the asteroid. Fortunately, he reacted instinctively and firmly grabbed a stone. By the time it stabilized, Zhang Bei¡¯s back was already drenched in sweat. ¡°What the, what is going on¡¡± When he thought of what had happened earlier, he still felt a lingering fear. If he had not grabbed the stone, he might have already been a guest in hell. After a while, he calmed down and got up to check. He was sure that the asteroid had been hit by something. ¡°It seems like space isn¡¯t as safe as I thought.¡± T/L Note: Chapter title is a Chinese proverb referring to a person who is single. One person being full is the same as the whole family being full.. Chapter 3 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios Zhang Bei walked to the area where the asteroid was hit. He walked closer and saw a huge lump of soil like a small mound. Zhang Bei carefully touched this lump of soil, and a cool feeling was transmitted from it. ¡°So it¡¯s a piece of frozen soil.¡± Zhang Bei thought for a while and grabbed the soil. As Zhang Bei moved his hand, the soil on the lump fell and a light quickly flashed across it. ¡°Did it light up just now?¡± Zhang Bei confirmed that he had not seen wrongly, so he picked up the bottle of mineral water he had just drunk and flattened it under his feet, making a simple small shovel. While Zhang Bei was making the plastic bottle shovel, the frozen soil had slowly melted and turned soft, so it was very easy for him to dig it out. Zhang Bei dug for about ten minutes when he felt the makeshift shovel hit something hard. Seeing that the shovel could no longer dig further, Zhang Bei put the plastic shovel to the side and began digging with his bare hands. ¡°Got it!¡± Zhang Bei reached his hand out from the soil. He was holding a shiny cube. ¡°This¡ what is this¡¡± Zhang Bei smiled bitterly. So Zhang Bei¡¯s consciousness sank into the Appraisal Center once again and came before the dwarf. Just as Zhang Bei placed the cube in front of the dwarf, the dwarf¡¯s eyes lit up. ¡°Good stuff!¡± The dwarf rubbed the cube. Just like last time, after a few minutes, the dwarf placed the cube in Zhang Bei¡¯s hand, and all the information about this cube rushed into Zhang Bei¡¯s brain. [Individual Civilization¡ªOmnipotent Interface Energy Reserve Device: Using photosynthesis to store energy, five hours of light can provide 24 hours of energy. No interface restriction, anything that requires energy charging can be used.] Zhang Bei¡¯s hand, which was holding the cube, trembled slightly. He thought to himself, ¡°Isn¡¯t this a charging treasure that can be used indefinitely!? There is even no interface restriction!! I¡¯m rich! I¡¯m rich!¡± Zhang Bei left the Appraisal Center with a silly smile. In front of him was dazzling sunlight. ¡°I wonder if this thing has charge left. I will leave it here to let it charge first.¡± Zhang Bei put down the energy device and turned to the frozen soil. ¡°I wonder if this soil can be used to plant things. Forget it, I will store it first. What if I find some seeds later? I will be able to plant something.¡± Zhang Bei rolled up his sleeves and gathered the soil together. Just as Zhang Bei was working hard, a familiar vibration made Zhang Bei smile. Zhang Bei sank his thoughts into the detector, which was flashing with white light. The cold voice sounded in his mind again. [230 kilometers northwest, there is a large cardboard box with two bags of bread, a bag of ham sausage, and five bottles of water.] Zhang Bei had been worried that the water and beef jerky would only last a few days. And now, the resources have come just in time! Zhang Bei connected to the asteroid and shouted ¡°GOGOGO!!!¡± as he charged towards the location indicated by the detector. After driving for about half an hour, Zhang Bei saw another light ball. Zhang Bei rushed over and heard a familiar ¡°pop¡± sound as the box landed in front of him. He opened it and saw that it was exactly as the detector had said. There were two bags of bread, a bag of ham sausage, and five bottles of water. Zhang Bei happily took a bag of bread and started eating. ¡°Why didn¡¯t I realize before that bread is such a delicious thing! The joy of carbohydrates, love it!¡± Zhang Bei smiled happily as he ate. After eating three breads and two sausages, and drinking half a bottle of water, Zhang Bei burped and opened the World Channel. [World Channel] ¡°Can someone give me some water to drink?! I¡¯m dying of heat!¡± ¡°I bumped into an apple earlier. It smells so good!¡± ¡°Boss, can you give me the apple core to lick? I¡¯m really hungry!¡± ¡°How can there still be an apple core left? Dream on!¡± ¡°Is there a brother who can give me a bite? I can do anything you want¡¡± ¡°????¡± ¡°????¡± Zhang Bei smiled when he saw this. Everyone had difficulty in getting the resources. How could they give them to others? They were not saints. The sky gradually darkened. Zhang Bei knew that it was almost night in the so-called cosmos. Zhang Bei used a paper box to make a simple mattress for himself. He even rolled two empty mineral water bottles in the cardboard as pillows. ¡°Sleep. I hope I can find a tent or ironwood tomorrow. Sleeping like this really doesn¡¯t feel safe.¡± Zhang Bei thought and closed his eyes. Zhang Bei, who had worked hard for the entire day, quickly fell asleep. Buzz¡ Zhang Bei felt a tremor and opened his eyes. It was still dark. He looked down and saw that the detector was emitting a white light. However¡ ¡°There is a hint of yellow in this white light¡ Is there something good?¡± Zhang Bei rubbed his eyes and sank his thoughts into the detector. [500 kilometers northeast, there is a large cardboard box with a box of instant noodles, a box of mineral water, and an electric kettle.] Zhang Bei was shocked! Kettle! This thing was here as well?! Zhang Bei hurriedly connected to the asteroid and rushed to the location the detector was pointing at. After all, it was 500 kilometers away. It took close to one hour even when they were moving through space. When he arrived, Zhang Bei looked up and saw a light ball that was emitting a white light. There was a faint yellow light inside. Zhang Bei slowly flew over. He heard a familiar ¡°pop¡± sound and a large box landed on the ground, stirring up a cloud of dust. Zhang Bei patted the dust on the box and opened it. There was a box of instant noodles, a box of mineral water, and a kettle inside. Zhang Bei picked up the kettle and realized that it was the kind of kettle that ran with electricity and could heat water. ¡°Why don¡¯t¡¡± Zhang Bei picked up a packet of instant noodles, broke it open, and put it in the kettle. Then, he poured the seasonings and poured more than half a bottle of mineral water into it. After doing all this, Zhang Bei took out the energy device that had been charged during the day and put the plug of the kettle on it. As expected, the electric kettle started working. Zhang Bei did not stay idle either. He cut a bottle of mineral water with his teeth and cut the ham sausage into pieces with the sharp part. In just a short while, the noodles were cooked. Zhang Bei picked up the disposable chopsticks from the box of instant noodles and picked up a large amount of noodles. He blew at it and ate it. ¡°Wu!! It tastes so good!!¡± Zhang Bei frantically stuffed the noodles into his mouth. After eating a few mouthfuls of noodles, Zhang Bei drank a mouthful of soup and ate a slice of ham sausage. ¡°This is truly a supreme delicacy!!¡± Zhang Bei sighed. After finishing the last mouthful of noodles and drinking the last drop of soup, he let out a long sigh. ¡°It¡¯s such a joy to be able to eat hot noodles in space!¡± Zhang Bei lay down on the makeshift cardboard mattress and burped before falling asleep.. Chapter 4 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios When Zhang Bei woke up, the dazzling light made him feel slightly dizzy. Rubbing his eyes, he boiled a pot of water. Zhang Bei planned to have some instant noodles and ham sausage as breakfast. While waiting for the water to boil, Zhang Bei opened the World Channel. ¡°Did you guys hear anything last night?¡± ¡°No, there was only the sound of my stomach rumbling.¡± ¡°I heard a rustle, like something was passing.¡± ¡°Logically speaking, there shouldn¡¯t be any creatures in space, right? Is it wind?¡± ¡°There¡¯s wind in your space? Are you stupid?¡± ¡°I¡¯m probably hallucinating from hunger. I¡¯ve only eaten half a loaf of bread since yesterday.¡± ¡°No way, no way. There are still people who haven¡¯t eaten hot meals?¡± ¡°What the f*ck? Hot meat? Boss, please provide for me. I can do anything!!!¡± ¡°Boss, I¡¯m fair-skinned, beautiful, and long-legged!¡± ¡°Boss!!!¡± Zhang Bei heard the water boil and turned off the World Channel. Zhang Beibei sighed while slurping the instant noodles, ¡°If it weren¡¯t for the detector, I would probably be starving by now.¡± Just as Zhang Bei finished taking the last bite, the detector began to vibrate. ¡°Green?!!¡± Zhang Bei was shocked. Zhang Bei quickly sank his thoughts into the detector. It was still that familiar cold voice. [600 kilometers southwest, there is a box of flints.] Zhang Bei was extremely excited. With the flints, it meant that he had an inexhaustible fire source! This was much more precious than anything else! Zhang Bei quickly set off and controlled the asteroid to rush to the location indicated by the detector. After about an hour, Zhang Bei looked at the green light ball in front of him and charged over in one go. The box burst through the membrane and smashed onto the ground with a bang. ¡°From the sound, there must be quite a lot,¡± Zhang Bei said as he opened the box. There were pieces of flint neatly arranged inside, and there were a few things that looked like paper tubes at the top. ¡°This is?? Flame sticks1??¡± Zhang Bei opened the tube in surprise and blew on it lightly. Instantly, flames jumped out. Zhang Bei put away the flame stick and dug a hole in the ground, burying the flints in the soil. ¡°I can¡¯t leave this thing outside. A man¡¯s wealth is his ruin. After all, I don¡¯t have a weapon now. If I meet someone one day¡¡± Zhang Bei was right. Never test human nature. Especially in this environment, people could only live for themselves. Zhang Bei was still worried, so he divided the flints into ten portions and buried them in various places on the asteroid, and marked them. After doing all this, he felt hungry. He took out some bread and ham sausage, thinking of having a bite. Just as he stuffed the bread into his mouth, Zhang Bei felt a tremor. ¡°White and green¡ what combination is this?¡± Zhang Bei was puzzled. Zhang Bei sent his thoughts into the detector. [780 kilometers north, one box of frozen food, one box of kitchenwares] ¡°What the f*ck? Kitchenwares? Does that mean there¡¯s a knife?¡± Zhang Bei couldn¡¯t even close his mouth. Controlling the asteroid, Zhang Bei flew over according to the guidance of the detector. About an hour and a half later, Zhang Bei looked at a white-green light ball from afar and rushed over. There was another familiar ¡®pop¡¯. Seeing the box land flat on the ground, Zhang Bei quickly opened the box. Zhang Bei opened the box of frozen food first: two chickens, a duck, two packets of chicken wings, some french fries, onion rings, and chicken popcorns. ¡°It¡¯s called food, but it¡¯s all frozen. How can I eat it¡¡± Zhang Bei smiled bitterly.¡± There¡¯s no fridge either. It¡¯ll spoil after a few days. ¡± Zhang Bei thought for a long time and could only slightly cover the frozen food with a paper box to prevent it from spoiling too quickly. Then, he opened the kitchenware set. ¡°Wok? What is this? Oh, a shovel¡¡± Zhang Bei looked at the items one by one and finally found what he wanted the most. ¡°Knife set, hehehe!¡± Zhang Bei laughed crazily. The knife set included: A cleaver, which was abnormally heavy; a vegetable knife that was lighter; a small and exquisite fruit knife; and a whetstone. Zhang Bei immediately kept the fruit knife in his pocket. He buried these things in the soil as well. He looked at the frozen food and had an idea. Zhang Bei opened the Exchange Platform and searched carefully in the list of trades. ¡°Found it!¡± Zhang Bei was extremely excited when he saw the small refrigerator. He quickly sent a message to the seller. ¡°Hello, brother?¡± Zhang Bei sent a greeting. The other party replied instantly, ¡°Yes, yes! Brother, do you want to buy this fridge?¡± Zhang Bei: ¡°How do you want to exchange?¡± The other party: ¡°Brother, if you want this fridge, it means that you definitely don¡¯t lack food now. How about this? You can trade for it with five days worth of food.¡± Zhang Bei: ¡°Five days is impossible. No one has much supplies at this time. No one will want your lousy thing, and there¡¯s no electricity in space. Am I right?¡± The other party clearly hesitated. ¡°Then what do you want this for? How much are you willing to pay? I only want food.¡± Zhang Bei thought for a while. ¡°Two days worth of food.¡± The other party: ¡°Three days at least.¡± Zhang Bei: ¡°No deal, bye.¡± The other party: ¡°Hey, hey, hey, why are you so rash!! Two days it is then!¡± After confirming the transaction, two days worth of food on Zhang Bei¡¯s side was reduced to light particles, and the refrigerator appeared in front of him. Zhang Bei moved the refrigerator to the energy device and placed the plug on it. Buzz! The fridge started to work. Zhang Bei quickly put the frozen food in the fridge and even stuck a few bottles of water in the gaps. ¡°Hah¡¡± Zhang Bei wiped his sweat. While he sat on the ground and looked at the sun, he started to feel the urge to take a sh*t. ¡°F*ck¡ do I have to do it in the open?¡± Zhang Bei looked troubled. As the feeling became more and more intense, Zhang Bei could only tear off a piece of paper from a box and rush towards the back of the asteroid. After a while, Zhang Bei roared, ¡°I want a bathroom! I want a toilet! I want toilet paper!¡± After settling his business, Zhang Bei started browsing the Exchange Platform in boredom, realizing that most people still wanted to trade for food. ¡°As expected, without the detector, food is the most difficult to find in this boundless space.¡± Zhang Bei thought to himself. ¡°How about I move around? Maybe the detector can¡¯t detect things too far away yet?¡± Zhang Bei began to control the asteroid to wander aimlessly. Halfway through, Zhang Bei stopped and picked up the kettle to boil some hot water to make instant noodles. He ate a sumptuous meal with the ham sausage and bread. After about two hours, when Zhang Bei was about to give up, the detector lit up with a green light. ¡°Pure green? What is it this time?¡± Zhang Bei¡¯s eyes lit up. Chapter 5 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios The cold voice of the detector sounded, ¡°500 kilometers south, there are plant seeds.¡± Zhang Bei charged towards the green light with all his might. Plants! There were basically no plants in space, but he had found seeds! Zhang Bei was very happy. He was already thinking about how to use these seeds. After about an hour, there was another familiar ¡°pop¡± sound. A small bag fell to the ground not far away. Zhang Bei quickly ran over and picked up the bag. He opened it and saw cabbage seeds, cucumber seeds, and tomato seeds. Zhang Bei was grinning from ear to ear! But when Zhang Bei calmed down, he realized a very serious fact. The temperature, humidity, and oxygen content of the asteroid were the same as those of Earth, this soil was also normal soil. There was also the frozen soil that he had knocked into last time. These were all fine. But¡ Zhang Bei scratched his head. ¡°What about light?¡± From the first day of space drifting, Zhang Bei had roughly calculated the time of day and night on Jupiter. According to the calculations on Earth, there would only be a 24-hour night after three consecutive days. ¡°Even if these plants receive light, they will have no night to use up the huge amount of nutrients,¡± Zhang Bei thought. ¡°Forget it. Let¡¯s plant some and see.¡± So, Zhang Bei began to gather all the soil. While Zhang Bei was drenched in sweat, the World Channel was still filled with sighs. ¡°Will I starve to death here? I haven¡¯t eaten for a long time¡¡± ¡°Me too. And I¡¯m so hot here, I don¡¯t have any water to drink. I¡¯m going to collapse.¡± ¡°No way, no way. Is there anyone who doesn¡¯t have water to drink now?¡± ¡°May I ask how much water this brother has?¡± ¡°Just now, a large bucket of water knocked into me. It almost scared me to death, but it should be around 10L.¡± ¡°Luck King! Please accept my bow!¡± ¡°Please send me your location! I will come over right away!¡± ¡°Wuwuwu, I¡¯m so envious. Let me get a lick.¡± At this moment, Zhang Bei had gathered the soil together. It was about three square meters. Zhang Bei took a few bottles of mineral water and reluctantly poured them into the dry soil. ¡°F*ck! How extravagant!¡± Zhang Bei cursed. But he thought about how if the planting succeeded, he would have a lot of vegetables to eat and he could even exchange the extras for other things. ¡°Forget it, he who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life..¡± Zhang Bei continued to pour water. After the soil became moist, he began to bury the seeds. After doing all this, Zhang Bei wiped his sweat and said, ¡°I hope it will succeed.¡± He turned around and touched his rumbling stomach. ¡°I will have some instant noodles and ham sausage for lunch today.¡± Zhang Bei licked his lips. ¡°There¡¯s no seasoning for the cold food, it won¡¯t taste good even if I cook them.¡± What Zhang Bei did not know was that there were already people fighting over a few pieces of bread near some planets. In such a situation, humans would only fight for their own survival! Zhang Bei still used the kettle to prepare noodles and added a ham sausage. While waiting, Zhang Bei opened the Exchange Platform to see if there was anything he needed. Most of the items were clothes and blankets. Zhang Bei saw the second page but did not see what he needed. ¡°Forget it, let¡¯s eat first.¡± Zhang Bei closed the Exchange Platform and started eating. After lunch, Zhang Bei lay on his cardboard bed and turned on the World Channel. ¡°Sigh, I just saw the guy beside me jump off the asteroid.¡± ¡°Ah, why?¡± ¡°It¡¯s probably because he has no confidence in life.¡± ¡°Yeah, I wonder when the drifting days will end.¡± Zhang Bei was shocked. Yeah, I wonder when this will end. He could not help but feel sad. But when he thought of the current environment, Zhang Bei decided to live well. After all, only by surviving could there be hope. Zhang Bei thought for a moment and sent a message on the World Channel. ¡°Those who want food and have resources, come.¡± The people who were still grieving earlier instantly fell silent. A few seconds later, the World Channel seemed to boil as if a drop of water had fallen into boiling oil. ¡°F*ck! This is the real boss! Using food to exchange for resources!¡± ¡°What does Big Boss want! I¡¯ll give you everything I have! Even if I don¡¯t have what you want, I will steal them for you!¡± Some displayed a strong desire to exchange, while others spoke sourly. ¡°Hehe, trading food. Aren¡¯t you afraid of being robbed?¡± ¡°Idiot, food is the most important thing now. Using it to exchange for resources is really stupid.¡± Immediately, some people were unhappy. It was rare for someone to be willing to take out food to trade, yet some people were still making sarcastic remarks. ¡°I think you¡¯re a pig that¡¯s putting onions in your nose and pretending here! If you don¡¯t want to exchange, get lost!¡± ¡°I think you¡¯re just jealous!¡± Those few trolls instantly started cursing. Their words were extremely vicious and vulgar. They were immediately rebuked by others. As the number of people cursing at them increased, they no longer dared to speak. The cursing lasted for a while before stopping. As for Zhang Bei, he was browsing through the information sent to him by all the people who wanted to trade with him and screening them. ¡°Clothes¡¡± Zhang Bei looked at his clothes which were so dirty that the original color could not be seen. He sniffed at them and smelled a pungent smell. Zhang Bei frowned and opened the exchange interface. ¡°Brother, what¡¯s the deal?¡± Zhang Bei asked. ¡°Brother, let me tell you, the material of this dress is excellent. It¡¯s also a big brand. I won¡¯t scam you! How about a day¡¯s worth of food?¡± Zhang Bei chuckled. ¡°You have the cheek to ask for a day¡¯s worth of food with your torn clothes? It will be just a loaf of bread. Do you want to exchange or not?¡± ¡°One is too little¡ at least three.¡± The other party hesitated. ¡°Just one!¡± Zhang Bei insisted. ¡°Okay, okay, deal!¡± After confirming the exchange, there was one less loaf of bread and a set of clothes beside Zhang Bei. Zhang Bei touched it and found that it was light and had breathability. He was very satisfied. ¡°Hahahahaha, I¡¯m really a bargaining genius!¡± Zhang Bei began to be narcissistic, and then continued to look at the exchange interface. After reading a few pages of wood, stones, and clothes, Zhang Bei gradually lost his patience. Suddenly, Zhang Bei saw something that looked like a tent. He clicked on it and saw that it was indeed a tent. It was also a high-level tent that could withstand high temperatures and collisions! Zhang Bei was looking for a place to sleep. He quickly sent a message: ¡°Brother, what¡¯s your price?¡± The other party instantly replied to ¡®fire source¡¯. Zhang Bei stared at the chat box and thought for a long time. He did not know if he should expose his secret of having a fire source.. Chapter 6 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios Zhang Bei thought for a long time and decided to probe the other party¡¯s situation first. ¡°If there¡¯s no fire source, can we change it to something else?¡± Zhang Bei asked. The other party replied instantly, ¡°No.¡± ¡°But you don¡¯t have food. What¡¯s the use of having the fire source?¡± Zhang Bei continued to ask. The other party said, ¡°To be honest, I¡¯m on Neptune. It¡¯s too far from the sun. I haven¡¯t seen sunlight since I woke up.¡± Before Zhang Bei could reply, the other party continued, ¡°And it¡¯s especially cold here. I just want some warm light!¡± Zhang Bei was not a saint, so he naturally would not give him the flints for free. Therefore, Zhang Bei said, ¡°I only have one flint, but I really want a small nest of my own.¡± The other party didn¡¯t speak and sent the exchange request. Zhang Bei agreed. One flint was gone, and he got the tent he wanted the most. After the transaction, the other party was not in a hurry to exit the chat. Instead, he slowly sent a few words: ¡°Be careful of the night.¡± Zhang Bei sent a few question marks but there was no reply. He opened the outer packaging of the tent and began to assemble it according to the instruction book. Looking at the thick instruction book, Zhang Bei couldn¡¯t help but click his tongue. ¡°Is the installation of a high-level tent so complicated?¡± ¡°Forget it. I hope I won¡¯t have to sleep on the cardboard when the next night comes.¡± Zhang Bei sighed and began to assemble it. First, he had to hit the fixed iron stake into the ground. This made it difficult for Zhang Bei. Without tools, he could only use rocks to slowly hit the ground. Zhang Bei picked up many stones and changed them as they cracked. Finally, when most of the stones were broken, the iron stakes were all smashed into the ground. Zhang Bei washed his hands with some mineral water and found that his hands were full of wounds. Some areas were bleeding, and his wrists were swollen. ¡°Let¡¯s take a rest and eat something.¡± Zhang Bei sat on the ground and took out a bottle of ice water from the fridge, gulping down most of it. ¡°Awesome!¡± Zhang Bei exhaled with relief. He picked up the bread and ham sausage beside him and took a bite. After eating, Zhang Bei applied some ice water to his wrist and continued to assemble the tent. ¡°Is this rope tied to this cloth?¡± ¡°Where do I hang this hook?¡± ¡°Why can¡¯t I open this door from inside?¡± Zhang Bei came out of the window panting, then took down the tent door and put it back in. Zhang Bei tried the zipper and found that there was no problem with the inside and outside. He finally heaved a sigh of relief. The most troublesome thing was that this tent also had a small space. It was about three square meters and could be used as a storage space. But it would take some effort to connect it to the large tent. Zhang Bei first pinned two iron stakes in the ground and relied on them to set up the small tent. Finally, Zhang Bei connected the large and small tent with iron hooks and ropes. Zhang Bei shook the tent hard. After confirming that it was very stable, he sat down on the ground. ¡°Eh? Why is there a notch here?¡± Zhang Bei suddenly saw a notch on the top of the tent. He crawled up and touched it, then found some patterns on it. ¡°Forget it, I¡¯m tired.¡± Zhang Bei jumped down and lay on the ground. Looking at the darkening sky, Zhang Bei couldn¡¯t help but laugh. He finally didn¡¯t have to sleep on the ground anymore! The detector suddenly buzzed. Puzzled, Zhang Bei took out the detector and found that it was emitting a dazzling red light. Zhang Bei had a bad feeling and quickly sank his consciousness into the detector. The cold voice of the detector sounded. [Level 1 Danger: A small meteor shower will arrive in two hours. Master, please be prepared. In addition, a small meteor shower is usually accompanied by ultra-low temperatures. Please take note to keep warm.] Zhang Bei exited the detector and looked at the sky. It would be dark in about half an hour. ¡°There¡¯s not much time left. I have to quickly move the things into the tent.¡± Zhang Bei rolled up his sleeves. First was the fridge. It took Zhang Bei a lot of effort to move the fridge full of things into the tent. Then, there was some bread, instant noodles, and other food. Zhang Bei put them all into the small tent. There was also some water. Zhang Bei put some into the small tent and some in various corners of the large tent. ¡°These water bottles can also put some weight on the tent,¡± Zhang Bei thought. After moving everything into the tent, Zhang Bei looked outside and relaxed. In the blink of an eye, he saw the vegetables that had just sprouted. Zhang Bei slapped his head and cursed silently. ¡°F*ck, how could I forget this!¡± Zhang Bei hurriedly ran to the plants. The plants could not be moved into the tent. Zhang Bei scratched his head. I got it! Zhang Bei put the leftover instant noodles bags on the sprouts and covered the plants with paper boxes and stones. When he was finished, Zhang Bei felt that it was about time. He quickly crawled into the tent, closed the door and the window, and put on all his clothes before sitting down in front of the kettle. Zhang Bei first plugged the kettle in the energy device and quietly waited for the water to boil. After a while, Zhang Bei figured that it was time. However, he didn¡¯t feel anything, so he stuck his head out of the window and looked outside. Just as Zhang Bei stuck his head out, he saw a small light dot in the distance suddenly expand, then emit a faint explosion. Seeing this, Zhang Bei had a rough idea. Because he was far away from the explosion site, this small meteor rain was evaluated as level 1 danger. Suddenly, Zhang Bei shivered. He quickly closed the window and sat in front of the hot kettle. The water was boiling. Zhang Bei opened a bag of instant noodles and put it in the kettle, then put the kettle in his arms. Sensing the temperature from the kettle, Zhang Bei heaved a sigh of relief. His breath instantly turned into mist, indicating that the temperature had fallen very low. When the noodles were ready, Zhang Bei hugged the kettle and stuffed the noodles into his mouth. With every bite, his body felt warmer. After finishing the last mouthful of soup, Zhang Bei felt his body warm, as if the cold outside had nothing to do with him. Suddenly, Zhang Bei heard a thud, as if something had hit the tent. Before Zhang Bei could listen carefully, the sounds of the thuds became continuous. Zhang Bei couldn¡¯t help but worry when he heard the dense sounds outside. He found some clothes and paper boxes and put them on his head to make a simple helmet. After putting on the helmet, Zhang Bei carefully opened the window and stuck his head out. Zhang Bei saw a sky full of shooting stars that were falling like a waterfall, fast and fierce. After those stones broke through the protective barrier of the asteroid, their speed would be slightly slower, but when they hit the ground, they would still create a hole. Zhang Bei looked at his plants. The makeshift covers had already been smashed, let alone the plants. Zhang Bei could not bear to watch anymore. Moreover, the simple helmet could not protect the head well. He could only resentfully stick his head back into the tent and close the window.. Chapter 7 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios Hearing the sounds outside, Zhang Bei couldn¡¯t help but feel irritated. The temperature kept decreasing and the water outside began to freeze. Zhang Bei poured more water in the kettle and placed it in his arms to maintain his body temperature. Just as Zhang Bei was in a daze, the detector in his pocket glowed blue. Zhang Bei instantly woke up and quickly sank his consciousness into the detector. [Unknown kilometers to the north, something unknown has appeared] The cold voice of the detector sounded. Zhang Bei was stunned and asked, ¡°Why unknown kilometers and unknown thing?¡± [Detector¡¯s level is not enough, authority is not enough.] Zhang Bei instantly understood. ¡°It seems like the upgrade of the detector has to be put on the agenda.¡± After exiting the detector, Zhang Bei looked toward the north and found that it was the direction where the meteors had flown to. ¡°That is the center of the explosion. Won¡¯t I be courting death if I go there¡¡± Zhang Bei smiled bitterly. But the blue light flickered like a will-o¡¯-the-wisp in the night, stirring Zhang Bei¡¯s mind. ¡°Rewards come from danger!¡± Zhang Bei gritted his teeth and connected to the asteroid. He began to control the asteroid to charge north. Zhang Bei controlled the asteroid extremely carefully. When he encountered a large asteroid, he could only try his best to change the direction and barely avoided it. Zhang Bei dodged left and right, but as he flew closer to the center of the explosion, the meteor shower became denser and denser. Moreover, the size of the meteors seemed to be increasing. Zhang Bei flew for about half an hour and noticed that the blue light on the detector was getting brighter and brighter. He stopped and sank his consciousness into the detector. The cold voice of the detector sounded [900 kilometers north,????] ¡°Looks like it can still be detected if the distance is close enough, but its level is not high enough to detect the item.¡± Zhang Bei could only leave the detector and continue to drive the asteroid. Listening to the crackling sound of the small meteor rain on the tent, Zhang Bei could not help but sigh at the quality of this tent. Controlling the asteroid, he slowly moved forward. He even heard some sounds like supplies piercing through the membrane. ¡°Are there still resources here?¡± Zhang Bei¡¯s eyes lit up. However, hearing the sounds outside, Zhang Bei instantly gave up the idea of going out. ¡°Forget it, forget it. Let¡¯s get to this unknown thing first.¡± Zhang Bei concentrated on flying toward the location indicated by the detector. Along the way, there were still small asteroids mixed with many large ones. Zhang Bei used all his strength to control the asteroid to avoid those large ones. He was panting from exhaustion. As focusing on controlling the asteroid for a long time would make Zhang Bei feel uncomfortable, he would rest slightly every 100 kilometers. ¡°There¡¯s still 400 kilometers to go.¡± Zhang Bei drank a mouthful of hot water and ate a piece of bread. He lay on his clothes in the tent and closed his eyes for a while. After resting for a while, Zhang Bei felt much better. He continued to fly the asteroid north. Finally, after nearly five hours, Zhang Bei finally arrived at the location of the explosion, which was the location indicated by the detector. Zhang Bei felt the outside and found that there was basically no sound of stones colliding outside, but he was still a little afraid, so he put on the simple helmet. Zhang Bei walked out of the tent. It was still dark outside. He could not see anything. Just as Zhang Bei was walking forward, he suddenly stepped on something soft. ¡°F*ck! What is this!¡± Zhang Bei was shocked and took out the flame stick. Zhang Bei¡¯s face turned pale when he saw the things on the ground. It turned out that the sounds he heard were all the sounds of the broken bodies of the people nearby passing through the protective barrier. Zhang Bei vomited. Although he was not a saint and had watched many horror films on Earth, this was much more terrifying than horror films. The people on the ground were all real. He didn¡¯t dare to look anymore. He could only close his eyes and walk forward. He looked up and saw a blue light flashing in the distance. He connected to the asteroid and flew over. The closer he got to the blue light, the brighter the light became. When Zhang Bei walked in, he found that the light was almost the size of two tents. Zhang Bei thought for a moment and endured the disgust, then threw the broken limbs on the ground outside the protective barrier. After clearing the ground, Zhang Bei closed the distance. With a loud thud, that thing fell to the ground, stirring up a large amount of dust. Zhang Bei walked over and saw something like a greenhouse. Walking around the greenhouse, Zhang Bei saw a door, but he couldn¡¯t open it. Zhang Bei saw something that looked like a screen beside the door and leaned over to look. The screen suddenly lit up, and a cold mechanical female voice sounded, ¡°Facial recognition approved, retinal recognition approved.¡± ¡°Please place your hand here.¡± Zhang Bei obediently placed his hand on it. ¡°Fingerprint approved.¡± ¡°Welcome to the Intelligent Plant Cultivation System.¡± Zhang Bei was stunned. This was possible??? He quickly walked to his little sprouts and lifted the tattered cardboard. Zhang Bei felt helpless. There were about ten saplings, but only three were left. The rest had been smashed. He dug out the remaining three saplings and walked to the greenhouse. He found that it was divided into different categories and was very neat. On the left hand side of the entrance was a series of farming tools, shovel, trowel, hoe, and so on. On the right were a few flower pots, all of them placed on an iron frame. In front were large patches of land. Zhang Bei first used the shovel to dig some soil into the flower pots, put the little shoots in, and water them. ¡°Let¡¯s go see how it is outside first. I can come back in the morning to dig the ground.¡± Zhang Bei walked out of the greenhouse and walked towards the tent. Back in the tent, Zhang Bei washed his hands and then took large bites out of a piece of bread. He had vomited from the disgust earlier and had been working, so his stomach was already empty. Zhang Bei opened the World Channel to see how the others were doing. ¡°Help¡ is there anyone who can save me? My leg flew out!¡± ¡°My fingers were frozen earlier¡ Now I only have one left to type¡¡± ¡°Heavens, what is going on¡¡± ¡°Save us¡¡± ¡°Can anyone save us?¡± ¡°Just now, I saw a guy jump out of his asteroid. He was smashed by a huge rock.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t want to die¡ I still have to find my wife!¡± ¡°Mom¡ Mom, where are you¡¡± Zhang Bei looked at the tragic scene in the World Channel and thought of the broken limbs all over the ground. He sighed and closed the World Channel. There was nothing anyone could do. Survival was the most important thing.. Chapter 8 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios After the meteor shower, there was no joy in the World Channel anymore. Instead, there was only sorrow and worries. Some had their arms broken, some had their fingers and toes frozen, and some were even dead. In fact, in this situation where there was no medicine, living might not be much better than death. They still had to continue enduring the pain. Dawn came. Zhang Bei took out the energy device to charge it and sat beside it, sighing in his heart. If I didn¡¯t pick up the flints and didn¡¯t change to the tent, I would probably be the one dying in this vast space, Zhang Bei thought helplessly. Suddenly, Zhang Bei realized something. ¡°Since the previous small meteor shower seemed to be caused by the explosion of a small asteroid, there are more than one small asteroids in space¡¡± Zhang Bei was terrified. This time, it was a small asteroid far away from him, but he still had to expend so much effort to survive through it. What if it was a large asteroid close to him next time? Zhang Bei made up his mind to strengthen his defense. He first carefully observed the tent, wanting to see if there was any place he could strengthen. He touched the canvas of the tent and rubbed it. He found that there were three layers. ¡°If there are three layers of canvas on the outside, can I fill it with something to strengthen it?¡± Zhang Bei thought. He was extremely troubled. ¡°If only there were some iron boards, or even wooden planks. But there¡¯s nothing here.¡± Then, Zhang Bei saw the soil on the ground beside him and thought of a plan. Previously, he did not have any tools. Now that he had them, it was much easier to do these tasks. Zhang Bei first dug the soil with the shovel from the greenhouse, then poured water over it and stirred it into mud. ¡°In the past, houses were built with steel and concrete. I wonder if this mud can be used.¡± Zhang Bei pondered as he stirred. Zhang Bei stirred the mud and took a piece of cardboard, spreading the mud evenly on both sides of the board. ¡°Let¡¯s see how strong it is after it¡¯s dried.¡± Zhang Bei put down the mud board in his hand. ¡°Rumble¡±, Zhang Bei¡¯s stomach growled. ¡°Let¡¯s eat something first. It¡¯ll take some time to dry.¡± Zhang Bei walked to the tent and boiled water. Then, he walked to the storage room. Zhang Bei pulled open the door to the storage room and took a packet of instant noodles and two ham sausages. He thought for a moment and then took two loaves of bread. ¡°I have to eat my fill. I still have to do manual labor later,¡± Zhang Bei thought helplessly. Who would have thought that his miserable life of working 9-9 everyday for 6 days a week on Earth would carry to here as well. The water boiled. Zhang Bei skillfully opened the cup noodles and threw them in. After the noodles were done, Zhang Bei took a paper box and used it as a table. He sat on the ground and started eating. Many earthlings had the habit of eating while looking at their phones. But in space, no one had a phone, so Zhang Bei could only turn on the World Channel. ¡°This is too scary¡ I went to search for supplies just now¡ There is so much blood and flesh outside the protective barrier.¡± ¡°I saw a head floating outside¡ Its eyes were still open¡¡± ¡°I really cried for a long time¡ Why are humans suffering like this?¡± ¡°I wonder how my parents are¡ Are they still alive?¡± ¡°I really want to go home.¡± ¡°I shouldn¡¯t have talked back to Mom when I went to work.¡± ¡°If I have the chance, I must tell Mom that I love her¡¡± Zhang Bei sighed. Humans were always like this. Only when things were irreversible would they think about how wonderful everything they once had was. ¡°The wanton felling of trees and the indiscriminate hunting might have been the reason for the Earth¡¯s collapse.¡± Zhang Bei slowly spoke on the World Channel. Immediately, the World Channel fell silent. After a long while, Zhang Bei said, ¡°Live on, there is hope.¡± ¡°Yes, we have to survive!¡± ¡°I¡¯ll go search for resources now! If I survive, I¡¯ll definitely find my parents!¡± ¡°Me too! There¡¯s hope if we survive!¡± ¡°Thank you, brother! Thank you for reminding us!¡± ¡°Survive! We have to survive!¡± ¡°Nothing is impossible!¡± This was the nature of humans. Even if they stepped on blood and tears, they could still straighten their backs and charge towards the future of light! Zhang Bei¡¯s eyes reddened slightly as he turned off the World Channel. Yes, there is hope if I survive. I must survive! Zhang Bei clenched his fists. After dinner, he went outside to look at the mud boards. He touched it and realized that it had dried. He picked up a piece and weighed it. ¡°It¡¯s heavy enough.¡± Zhang Bei touched the mud board. ¡°I wonder how hard it is.¡± He picked up a stone and threw it at the board. ¡°As expected¡¡± Zhang Bei smiled bitterly. Although the weight of the mud board was not bad, its hardness was basically zero. Once the stone hit it, the mud board immediately broke into pieces. ¡°I still have to find sand, gravel, and a binding agent.¡± Zhang Bei opened the Exchange Platform to see if anyone was selling these things. The first few pages were still about clothes. Zhang Bei took a look and saw a military jacket. He thought there could be more cold days in the future. He opened the exchange interface. ¡°You there, bro?¡± ¡°Yes. You want to buy the down jacket?¡± ¡°Yes, how much?¡± ¡°I want water. Three days worth of water.¡± ¡°I can only give you 1L of water.¡± ¡°1L isn¡¯t enough, at least 1.5L.¡± ¡°Deal.¡± Zhang Bei checked the transaction. Three 500ml bottles of water disappeared, and a military jacket was lying on the ground. He picked up the military coat. It was sewn with a waterproof cloth, so he didn¡¯t have to worry about getting wet. The innermost layer was a thick layer of cashmere, and the clothes were filled with cotton. Zhang Bei weighed the dress and found that it was about 6.7 pounds. He put away the jacket and continued browsing the Exchange Platform. After browsing a few more pages, Zhang Bei saw someone selling sand and gravel. Zhang Bei was extremely excited. He quickly opened the exchange interface. ¡°Are you online? What is your price for this?¡± ¡°Friend, don¡¯t say anymore. This thing almost killed me. There were a few bags of things that suddenly fell from the sky. At first, I thought they were food, but when I saw them, they were all sand.¡± The other party nagged, ¡°How about this? Give me something to eat. If you have anything to eat, let¡¯s trade.¡± Zhang Bei thought for a while. ¡°How about three pieces of bread and three bottles of water for a bag?¡± The other party hesitated for a moment. ¡°Sure, I have five bags in total.¡± Zhang Bei exchanged 15 loaves of bread and 15 bottles of water. Then, five bags of sand and gravel appeared before him. ¡°These are the raw materials for making concrete.¡± Zhang Bei opened a bag and dug with his hand. ¡°I still lack a binding agent.¡± Zhang Bei flipped through the Exchange Platform. ¡°If there¡¯s no binding agent, there¡¯s no way to make them stick together.¡± Zhang Bei searched for a long time but couldn¡¯t find any binding agent. However, he found something that made him extremely excited.. Chapter 9 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios ¡°Brother, how much are these stones?¡± Zhang Bei swallowed. ¡°Ah? You want this lousy stone? Take it if you want it.¡± The other party immediately replied. Zhang Bei thought for a moment and exchanged a bottle of water and a packet of instant noodles. ¡°Thank you, thank you. You¡¯re really a good person!¡± The other party quickly thanked him and confirmed the transaction. Zhang Bei opened the bag of the stones and took them out to smell them. ¡°Yes, this is limestone.¡± Zhang Bei was extremely excited. Zhang Bei could not be blamed for being excited. Not many would take note of this thing. One year when he returned to his hometown, an old man told him. And lime could be used to make binding agents for sand and gravels. The limestone needed to be burned with fire to produce the lime, so Zhang Bei arranged all the paper boxes, lit the fire with the flame stick, and threw the stones in. ¡°Lime is a good thing.¡± Zhang Bei looked at the flames, and heat waves hit his face. However, it would take a long time to burn the limestone, so Zhang Bei mixed the gravels and sand together first. Zhang Bei opened two bags of sand and gravel and poured them on the ground. Seeing some large and well-proportioned stones, he picked them out. ¡°It¡¯s not easy to stick these stones together. I might as well pick them out and use them for other purposes.¡± Zhang Bei poured out sand and gravel and picked the larger stones. About two hours had passed. On Zhang Bei¡¯s left hand was fine sand and gravel, and on his right was stones. Zhang Bei stood up and stomped his numb feet. Then, he shoveled the mud that he had stirred earlier into the sand and gravel. Zhang Bei rolled up his sleeves, picked up the shovel, and began to mix the mud with the sand and gravel evenly. After about half an hour, Zhang Bei panted as he looked at the mixture of sand, gravel, and mud in front of him. He was extremely satisfied. ¡°The lime is almost ready.¡± Zhang Bei walked to the mostly burnt limestones. The large stones, after being burnt by the high temperature of the fire, had mostly turned into grayish-black powder. Zhang Bei scooped up a handful of powder and poured it into the mixture of sand, gravel, and mud that he had stirred earlier. ¡°It doesn¡¯t seem to be enough.¡± Zhang Bei shoveled another handful of powder in. Zhang Bei ran back and forth three or four times. Finally, when he was stirring the mixture of sand, mud, and gravel, he felt a relatively obvious resistance. ¡°Success!¡± Zhang Bei grinned. Then, he put the mixture on a wooden board and waited for it to solidify. Zhang Bei washed his hands and poured water on the bags containing the sand and gravel. After the bags were wet, he covered it with the mixture. ¡°It won¡¯t dry up like this.¡± Zhang Bei clapped his hands. Zhang Bei suddenly remembered that there was a large iron shelf in the greenhouse, so he went in and took it out. ¡°If I can break this, it should be able to be used as bars.¡± Zhang Bei rubbed his chin. ¡°Let¡¯s see if it can be removed first.¡± Zhang Bei looked at the connection point of the iron shelf and began to look for a way to disassemble it. He realized that this shelf was actually made mostly with mortise-and-tenon technique. The joints were connected to each other and did not have many welded parts. Zhang Bei began to dismantle this shelf. First was the top layer. Zhang Bei first removed the partition, then pulled the supporting iron rod out of the large iron rod and placed it to the side. The second level was the same. First, he drew the partition, then drew the large iron rod. When he got to the last level, Zhang Bei realized that the bottom was welded. Therefore, Zhang Bei took out a hoe from the greenhouse and knocked on the welding point. Finally, he dismantled the entire shelf. Zhang Bei counted. There were ten iron partitions and twenty iron rods of various thicknesses. After dismantling the shelf, the mixture was about to condense. Therefore, Zhang Bei first moved it with his hand. As soon as he lifted it, his waist sank and he almost fell to the ground. Zhang Bei quickly put it down and smashed it with a stone. After smashing for a long time, there were no cracks on the mixing board at all. There was not even a scratch. Zhang Bei picked up the hoe again and threw it at the same spot. When it hit the 68th time, there was a crack. Zhang Bei was exhausted. ¡°As long as the same point is not struck continuously, it shouldn¡¯t be a problem for it to withstand a meteor shower.¡± Zhang Bei put down the hoe. ¡°Put the iron rods in first.¡± Zhang Bei dug a hole from the bottom of the tent where the rope was connected. He inserted an iron rod into each of the four corners of the tent, and even the storage room was inserted with iron rods. The surroundings of the window were sealed, so after Zhang Bei inserted the iron rods, he only needed to pour the mud in through the rods. After securing the rods, Zhang Bei began to pour the mixture into the tent¡¯s interlayer. As he did not have any large tools, Zhang Bei could only use the shovel to fill the gap. When it was almost done, Zhang Bei¡¯s arms felt numb. ¡°It¡¯ll be done soon.¡± Zhang Bei gritted his teeth and mixed another shovelful of mud mixture. ¡°It¡¯s finally finished.¡± After the last shovelful of mud entered, Zhang Bei immediately sat on the ground and panted heavily. His hands were filled with blisters, and some of them were already popped. Blood covered his hands. His arms had also swelled up to twice its size, and it was as if he could see the veins under his skin jumping violently. Zhang Bei wanted to stand up and drink some water, but realized that he couldn¡¯t move anymore, so he just lay on the ground and waited for the concrete to dry. At some point in time, Zhang Bei fell asleep. When he woke up, the swelling on his arm had subsided and the wounds on his palm had already formed scabs. Zhang Bei swayed as he stood up and touched the tent. ¡°It looks like it¡¯s hard set.¡± Zhang Bei knocked on it and felt a rough sensation on his hand. Walking into the tent, he clearly felt that the temperature inside was much lower than outside. He looked at the time table that he had carved with a stone and calculated. It was probably going to be night again. ¡°What kind of surprise will there be tonight?¡± Zhang Bei put down the paper in his hand helplessly. ¡°But with the tent reinforced by concrete, the meteors should be harmless to me,¡± Zhang Bei thought to himself, ¡°But there¡¯s really not much water and food left. I have to continue searching for supplies.¡± Zhang Bei stood up and walked out of the tent. ¡°There are about two bags of sand and gravel, and half a bag of lime.¡± Zhang Bei picked up the five iron rods on the ground. ¡°Put away these materials first. They¡¯ll definitely be useful.¡± Zhang Bei moved them to the side of the tent. Suddenly, the detector emitted a white light, startling Zhang Bei who was moving things. ¡°Whitea€|¡± Zhang Bei scratched his head and sent his consciousness into the detector.. Chapter 10 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios ¡°It should be water or food,¡± Zhang Bei thought. As expected, a cold voice sounded. ¡°300 kilometers northeast, there is a box of mineral water.¡± Zhang Bei exited the detector and connected to the asteroid. 300 kilometers would only take 15 minutes to reach. Zhang Bei slowly flew around and observed if there were any other supplies. ¡°Eh???? That is¡¡± Zhang Bei suddenly saw a large stone flying past him. ¡°That should be the asteroid of another drifter, right?¡± Zhang Bei was very excited. When they were drifting in space, no matter what, as long as they could meet another human and exchange a few words, they could alleviate the misery in their hearts. At least this proved that Zhang Bei was not the only one working hard in this vast space! Zhang Bei flew to the asteroid excitedly, then connected his protective shield with the other party¡¯s, and jumped onto it. ¡°Hello! How are you!¡± Zhang Bei was afraid that the other party was an international friend and did not understand Chinese, so he greeted in English! Zhang Bei shouted a few times, but no one replied. ¡°Did something happen?¡± Zhang Bei walked inside. ¡°Aghh¡¡± Zhang Bei was suddenly tripped by something and almost fell. Zhang Bei stabilized himself and looked down. ¡°Why are there so many thorny brambles??¡± Zhang Bei pulled the thorny shrubs and found that this asteroid was densely covered in it. Zhang Bei carefully stepped over the thorny brambles and arrived at the middle of the asteroid. ¡°Is that¡ a paper box?¡± Zhang Bei saw a large pile of paper boxes. They looked like a small house. He walked over and called a few times, but still, no one responded. He had no choice but to sneak over. Zhang Bei opened the box and saw a scene he would never forget in his life. A man was lying on the ground with his eyes wide open and pupils dilated. Blood pooled under his body like frozen meat that was thawing. ¡°Did you freeze to death because of the cold?¡± Zhang Bei couldn¡¯t bear it and closed the man¡¯s eyes. After thinking for a while, Zhang Bei finally went to his asteroid and brought a shovel. He first wrapped the man with the cardboard boxes and began digging a hole beside him. After digging for about half an hour, Zhang Bei finally dug a large enough hole to bury the man. Zhang Bei lifted the man and placed him in the pit before filling the hole with soil. ¡°Although I don¡¯t know your name, I hope you can rest in peace.¡± Zhang Bei bowed. He looked around and found that the man had saved some supplies. ¡°Thank you,¡± said Zhang Bei inwardly, and moved the man¡¯s supplies to his own asteroid. Zhang Bei looked around carefully and found nothing. Just as he was about to return to the asteroid, he suddenly thought of those thorny brambles. ¡°If I can let those thorny brambles grow vertically and plant them in the periphery of the asteroid, can it resist some foreign dangers?¡± As Zhang Bei said this, he began to carefully observe those thorny brambles. Zhang Bei first pulled the thorny brambles hard and found that their roots were all in the cracks of the asteroid, and could not be pulled out at all. ¡°What about the seeds?¡± Zhang Bei searched but did not find any spores. Suddenly, he remembered that the thorny bramble seeds were usually in their branches. As long as he brought their branches back, he could plant them himself. At this thought, Zhang Bei returned to his asteroid, took a hoe, and began to cut the branches of these thorny brambles. Zhang Bei chopped for a long time, and finally cut all the thorny brambles that were exposed outside the cracks. Zhang Bei tied them up into a bundle and brought them to his asteroid. Before leaving, he looked back at the asteroid. ¡°I will live well for you.¡± Zhang Bei closed his eyes, connected with the asteroid, and left. The water that the detector had predicted was still 100 kilometers away. Zhang Bei increased his speed. Pop! Zhang Bei saw a box of water fall in front of him. He carried the water into the tent and came out to study the thorny brambles. ¡°Let¡¯s plant a few in the flower pot first.¡± Zhang Bei took out a few thorny bramble branches and carefully planted them in the flower pot. ¡°I will plant the rest on the ground outside.¡± Zhang Bei raised the shovel and started digging holes one by one. Zhang Bei tried his best to dig deeper, so he had to put in a lot of effort. ¡°I¡¯m tired. I will continue after resting a bit.¡± Zhang Bei wiped the sweat on his head and put the shovel aside. He went to the fridge and drank a bottle of cold water. He took large gulps of water. ¡°Ah, so refreshing.¡± In this apocalyptic-like situation, he was still able to drink ice water happily. He felt extremely blessed. ¡°If only I had cola!¡± After gulping down a mouthful of ice water, Zhang Bei¡¯s thoughts drifted back to his time on Earth. At that time, he would leave early and return late every day. He would complain that the company¡¯s packed lunches were not good enough, and that the late night oden and sandwiches tasted too bland. ¡°As expected, humans can never be content.¡± Zhang Bei drank the last mouthful of ice water and picked up the shovel. ¡°I still have to rely on myself to lead a happy life!¡± He swung the shovel down and continued digging. As Zhang Bei continued digging, the people in the World Channel seemed to have discovered something incredible. ¡°Did you guys hear any rustling last night?¡± ¡°How could there be sounds in space?¡± ¡°Sigh! I heard it too! It¡¯s like something passed by me.¡± ¡°Hahahaha, LMAO. Is the commenter above hallucinating from hunger? Can anyone move in space? Aliens?¡± ¡°It seems like I¡¯m really hallucinating.¡± ¡°To be honest, sometimes I feel so dizzy because of hunger.¡± ¡°I miss my mom¡¯s food.¡± ¡°You¡¯re dreaming! If I had a packet of instant noodles to eat now, I would laugh even in my dreams!¡± ¡°I don¡¯t even want instant noodles. I just want to drink until I¡¯m full. It¡¯s too hot here!¡± ¡°I picked up a piece of bread three days ago. I only dared to take a bite a day, and I didn¡¯t dare eat too much. It is too f*cking tragic.¡± ¡°I was too picky on Earth. I deserve to die!¡± ¡°I really want to eat ribs¡¡± ¡°I want to eat chicken wings¡¡± Everyone was talking about what they wanted to eat. It felt like their saliva was flying everywhere. As someone who did not lack food, Zhang Bei was working hard to make his asteroid safer and better resist the dangers of space. ¡°Is this enough?¡± Zhang Bei looked at the pits on the ground and wiped his sweat.. Chapter 11 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios Zhang Bei planted the thorny brambles one by one, then wiped his sweat and watered the soil. ¡°I hope it can grow faster. I don¡¯t know when danger will come again.¡± Zhang Bei looked at the vast universe with a helpless expression. After finishing these things, Zhang Bei felt hungry, so he took out a packet of instant noodles and ham sausage from the storeroom and two pieces of bread. ¡°Back on Earth, my stomach would already be full from eating half a packet of instant noodles. Now, I can eat two more pieces of bread after finishing my work. As expected, hard work makes people hungry.¡± Zhang Bei gnawed on the bread. ¡°People still have to exercise more. Good health ~ Good appetite ~¡± Zhang Bei couldn¡¯t help but sing happily. The greatest advantage of humans was their optimistic view. Regardless of the conditions, they could find a way to make themselves happy. Zhang Bei plugged the kettle in the energy device and made instant noodles. Then, while waiting for instant noodles, he opened the World Channel. Zhang Bei read their conversation and couldn¡¯t help but feel worried. ¡°Something passed by? Logically speaking, there should be no life in space.¡± Zhang Bei frowned. ¡°If there are lifeforms that can ignore the space environment and walk freely, wouldn¡¯t humans be in great danger?¡± Zhang Bei suddenly thought of 008. ¡°If 008 is also a creature from some planet, then the civilization on that planet must be much higher than ours.¡± He thought for a long time. He only pulled his thoughts back when he heard the sound of boiling water. ¡°System, resources¡¡± Zhang Bei felt like a large hand was controlling this universe. ¡°Even if someone is controlling it, what can I do?¡± Then, he picked up the cup of noodles and started eating. While eating, Zhang Bei continued to read the chat. ¡°Sigh¡ I was quite happy when I picked up some bread just now. But when I saw it was red bean bread, I was so irritated.¡± ¡°F*ck, f*ck, f*ck, isn¡¯t it good to pick up bread??? I¡¯ve only fucking eaten a piece of bread so far.¡± ¡°Seriously! You can still afford to be picky! That¡¯s too much!¡± ¡°Brother Dog1, you are too insatiable!¡± The person said, ¡°I¡¯m f*cking allergic to red beans! I¡¯m in despair too!¡± Then, everyone suddenly became lively. ¡°Hahahahahaha, brother dog, you¡¯re too miserable!¡± ¡°Brother Dog, why don¡¯t we exchange?¡± ¡°Previous poster, are you planning to exchange the chives you dug out from the cracks of your teeth for this? Hahahahahaha.¡± When Zhang Bei saw that someone wanted to trade the bread, he immediately ran to the storeroom and took out a few pineapple buns. Then, he typed, ¡°Brother, do you want pineapple buns? I¡¯m allergic to pineapple.¡± Then the World Channel was filled with laughter, as if they had forgotten the hell they had just experienced. ¡°Haha, you guys are too cute!¡± ¡°I have two slices of chocolate bread.¡± ¡°I have two strawberry flavored bread.¡± ¡°Why are all of yours so delicious! Mine is Matcha! I don¡¯t like Matcha!¡± ¡°I like Matcha! I¡¯ll exchange chocolate with you!¡± The world channel was buzzing with activity. Zhang Bei got his wish. He exchanged the pineapple buns for red bean bread and put them in the storeroom. After eating, Zhang Bei strolled around and decided to rest in the tent. ¡°White light? And yellow? Is there food and tools again?¡± Zhang Bei was worried that he had nothing to do and quickly sank his consciousness into the detector. It was still the cold mechanical voice. Zhang Bei couldn¡¯t help but complain, ¡°It¡¯s the same voice every time. Can you change your voice? I¡¯m tired of hearing it.¡± ¡°Sure. You can choose your preferred voice setting from the screen.¡± A screen suddenly flew over to Zhang Bei. Zhang Bei browsed the different options available on the screen.. ¡°Aiyo, Old Master Guo!¡± ¡°Jennifer Lawrence???¡± ¡°Aiya, Sister Ling!¡± In the end, Zhang Bei chose the famous female broadcaster from Earth, Tuantuan1. Immediately, the detector¡¯s voice changed. ¡°Aiyo, there is a box of chocolates and a box of skittles 300 kilometers to the north. I love sweets. There was also a saw. It will be a good help to you to rob and kill people.¡± Zhang Bei was happy. After all, in this vast space, hearing human voices would really eliminate some of the loneliness. He exited the detector and connected to the asteroid. After about 15 minutes, Zhang Bei arrived at the location indicated by the detector. With a ¡®pop¡¯, a large paper box fell from the sky. Zhang Bei opened the box and took out the saw inside. The saw was the ordinary kind that was used to cut wooden boards. Zhang Bei put it aside and picked up the chocolates and skittles. Zhang Bei ate one chocolate. He immediately started feeling much better. Then he ate a few skittles. The helplessness and vulnerability he had felt since entering space seemed to have been swept away, and he was filled with anticipation. ¡°No wonder people like to eat sweet things when they are in a bad mood. Eating sweet things can really make people happy.¡± Zhang Bei put away the chocolate and skittles and put the saw into the shelf in the greenhouse. Zhang Bei looked at the thorny brambles and found that a few sprouts had broken out of the ground. ¡°But this is still too slow. By the time it grows taller, I might have died many times already.¡± Zhang Bei rubbed his chin, thinking. ¡°Are there fertilizers or something in the Exchange Platform?¡± Zhang Bei opened the exchange center. He clicked on the search button and entered fertilizer. Empty. He entered Jinkela. Empty. Zhang Bei thought for a while and typed a few words. Growth agent. Got it. There were some results. However, there was only a growth agent written on it. There was no mention of its effects. Zhang Bei found a seller and opened the exchange interface. ¡°Brother, what¡¯s the price?¡± Zhang Bei asked. After a few minutes, when Zhang Bei was starting to feel anxious, the other party replied. ¡°Ten days worth of food or fire source?¡± Zhang Bei: ¡°Why don¡¯t you go rob? Do you want so much for this lousy thing?¡± The other party: ¡°Since you asked, it means that this thing is valuable to you.¡± Zhang Bei thought for a moment and sent a flint. The other party confirmed the transaction and a small bottle filled with green liquid appeared before Zhang Bei. ¡°Just this?¡± Zhang Bei shook the bottle in his hand. ¡°How do you use this?¡± Zhang Bei took the bottle and entered the appraisal center. The dwarf took the bottle from Zhang Bei¡¯s hand and returned it to him after a few minutes. (Green civilization: Level 1 Growth Potion, can catalyze the growth rate of plants, 1: 100. Use it after mixing with water in a 1:50 ratio.) Zhang Bei held the small bottle and compared it with the mineral water bottle. The growth agent was only about 50ml. ¡°Just this much?¡± Zhang Bei was heartbroken. He took a bottle of water and poured the growth agent inside. Chapter 12 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios The growth agent was poured into the water, and the emerald-green liquid slowly dissolved. The water immediately turned pale green. Zhang Bei shook it carefully, then unscrewed the cap and sniffed. ¡°It doesn¡¯t have any smell.¡± Zhang Bei walked to the greenhouse and first put the growth agent (diluted with water) into the bottle cap and poured it into the No. 1 flower pot he had marked beforehand. Then, he poured half a bottle cap of the growth agent into flower pot number 2. Then, he poured a third of the bottle cap into the flower pot number 3. ¡°Let¡¯s see if the growth rate is different with different doses.¡± Then, Zhang Bei squatted beside the flower pots and observed the growth rate of the thorny brambles. About half an hour later, when Zhang Bei was about to lose his patience and gradually became anxious, the thorny brambles in the three flower pots suddenly moved, and the tender shoots began to grow. In Zhang Bei¡¯s vision, he could only see a thorny bramble beginning to split, grow, and divide. The thorny bramble number 3 flower pot stopped growing after reaching about three meters, while the number 2 flower pot¡¯s thorny bramble stopped growing after reaching about six meters. As for flower pot number 1¡ ¡°What the f*ck, what the f*ck!¡± Zhang Bei quickly carried flower pot number 1 and rushed out of the greenhouse. The thorny bramble in the flower pot number one grew to more than ten meters and did not show any signs of stopping. It continued to extend upwards. Zhang Bei was afraid that the thorny bramble would damage the greenhouse if it grew too much, so he quickly rushed to the empty space outside. He looked at the thorny bramble in front of him. After about ten minutes, it slowly stopped growing. Zhang Bei looked at the 20-meter tall and 3-meter thick thorny bramble with his mouth agape. ¡°This growth agent is amazing!¡± Zhang Bei began to water the thorny brambles on the outside one by one, watering them with half a bottle cap of the growth agent. ¡°It¡¯s so high that it can block the sunlight. Six meters should be enough.¡± After watering the plants, Zhang Bei moved the twenty-meter-long thorny bramble and wrapped the tent with it. Zhang Bei first wrapped his hand with his clothes and paper, then tried his best to bend the thorny brambles. Then, he pressed the thickest part against the canvas of the tent and shoveled it to the ground. Then, he wrapped the tent with thinner parts. Of course, he also had to cover the storeroom. Round and round, Zhang Bei stepped on the thorny brambles and bent the thorny brambles as hard as he could. Finally, it reached the top of the tent. Zhang Bei did not bend, but allowed it to stand. ¡°Using the shadow of the thorny brambles like this, I can roughly confirm the time.¡± Zhang Bei jumped down from the tent and looked at his basic tent, version 2.0, with satisfaction. As he finished his work, the thorny brambles that were watered with the growth agent also started to grow rapidly. He watched the small thorny brambles grow one by one, and soon turned into a wall of thorny brambles. Zhang Bei looked at the surrounding thorny wall and hit it with the shovel. The thorny wall only trembled and was not damaged. He put the tools back in the greenhouse. He touched his empty stomach and went to the tent to prepare some food for himself. As usual, Zhang Bei took out a packet of instant noodles and a red bean bread that he had exchanged with pineapple buns. After some thought, he took out a packet of milk. ¡°I still have to maintain the daily protein.¡± Zhang Bei opened the milk packet and gulped it down. The smoothness and fragrance of the milk exploded in his mouth. Zhang Bei couldn¡¯t help but tear up. In the past, on Earth, every time he drank milk for breakfast, he would complain that the milk of a certain brand had no taste and that the milk of a certain brand had no fragrance. Now that he thought about it, he really wanted to slap himself. Zhang Bei drank a large mouthful of the sweet milk and burped. Then, he placed the kettle outside the tent and charged the energy device while cooking the noodles. While cooking the noodles, Zhang Bei opened the Exchange Platform again. ¡°Many people have yet to discover the use of this thing. Even if they do, they might not have plants. Why don¡¯t I buy more now?¡± Zhang Bei quickly browsed the item list. Before long, he saw the similar green liquid. ¡°Brother, what¡¯s the price?¡± Zhang Bei asked. ¡°Food or fire source,¡± the other party replied. Zhang Bei thought for a while and exchanged a flint. The other party quickly agreed. Then, a tube of the same green liquid appeared beside Zhang Bei. The other party: ¡°Thank you.¡± Zhang Bei: ¡°You¡¯re welcome.¡± Zhang Bei closed the chat box and continued looking for the next seller. Zhang Bei: ¡°What¡¯s the price?¡± The other party: ¡°Food.¡± Zhang Bei traded two loaves of bread, two sausages, and a bottle of water. The other party accepted and a tube of green liquid appeared beside Zhang Bei. When the instant noodles were ready, Zhang Bei continued browsing the Exchange Platform while slurping the noodles. As he was browsing, Zhang Bei suddenly found a small box. There were tubes of red, blue, and green liquid inside. ¡°Green promotes plant growth. What can blue and red do?¡± He thought curiously. ¡°Forget it, let¡¯s exchange for them first.¡± Zhang Bei quickly opened the exchange interface. Zhang Bei: ¡°Hello, how do you want to trade?¡± ¡°Half a month¡¯s worth of food or fire source.¡± Zhang Bei rolled his eyes. ¡°You don¡¯t even know what this thing is for. You have to have a limit even if you want to make an exorbitant demand.¡± The other part: ¡°If you don¡¯t know how to use it, why do you want to buy it?¡± Zhang Bei gritted his teeth and sent an exchange request with a flint. The other party refused. Zhang Bei laughed angrily. ¡°What is the meaning of this?¡± ¡°Not enough, I want two different types of fire source.¡± Zhang Bei hesitated. ¡°I¡¯m probably the only one with two types of fire source¡ but¡¡± Zhang Bei was hesitant. If he revealed that he had a flame stick, would it cause him trouble? ¡°But I really want them¡¡± Zhang Bei licked his lips. Zhang Bei gritted his teeth and sent the exchange request with a flint and a flame stick. ¡°He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life!¡± Zhang Bei sent the exchange request and waited eagerly. Finally, the other party agreed to the deal. Zhang Bei sensed one of the flame sticks disappearing, and a small box appeared beside him. Zhang Bei touched the small box and felt that it was made of leather. There was a password lock outside. ¡°Normally, the default password is three zeroes.¡± Zhang Bei entered three zeroes and opened the box. He was greeted with the sight of three different-colored test tubes on a thick velvet. The green liquid was still the vibrant green color. The blue was as deep and quiet as the deep sea. The red was hot and intense. Zhang Bei seemed to be attracted by the deep color and momentarily forgot about the world. After a while, he came back to his senses and went into the Appraisal Center with the box. ¡°I want to appraise this,¡± Zhang Bei handed the box to the dwarf and said solemnly. Surprise flashed in the dwarf¡¯s eyes.. Chapter 13 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios The dwarf returned the box to Zhang Bei after appraising the items. Zhang Bei took it and looked at the result. He was both excited and afraid. Black Hole Civilization: A type of growth agent¡ªGreen: Enhances plant growth, increases plant characteristics and abilities, reduces growth time. Blue: Enhances animal growth, enhances animal characteristics and abilities, reduces growth time (There is a chance that this creature will change its genes, irreversible). Zhang Bei was in disbelief. Seeing the effect of the red liquid, he felt fear. Red: Promotes human growth. Specifically, rapid growth in a convenient trait. (There is a chance to change the human gene, irreversible) Zhang Bei left the Appraisal Center and swallowed. ¡°Individual Civilization, Green Civilization, and Black Hole Civilization¡ The green civilization only developed plant growth agents, but the black hole civilization¡ can change genes¡¡± Zhang Bei was stupefied. ¡°What does changing genes mean?¡± Zhang Bei thought carefully. ¡°Change my hand? My feet? My stomach? Or my brain?¡± The more Zhang Bei thought about it, the more dangerous it seemed. He took out the green test tube, while locking the blue and red in the small box. He put the box in the corner and pressed it under many supplies. There was still a lot of diluted growth agent from earlier left, so Zhang Bei watered the cabbages, cucumbers, and tomatoes that he had planted before. After a while, the wilting sprouts suddenly turned sharp and emerald green. First was the tomatoes. They began to grow branches and leaves before growing crazily upwards. When it was about two meters long, the tomatoes bloomed with many white flowers. But even when the flowers wilted, there were no tomatoes. Zhang Bei was puzzled. He suspected that there was a problem with the tomato seeds, so he went to observe the cucumber. He found that the cucumber had also bloomed and fallen, but it did not bear fruits. ¡°What¡¯s wrong with it?¡± Zhang Bei looked at the seeds carefully and couldn¡¯t see any problems. Then, Zhang Bei looked at the cabbage. Hmm, what a good cabbage. A one-meter-long cabbage. Zhang Bei casually plucked a small piece of cabbage leaf and stuffed it into his mouth. ¡°Delicious!¡± The word delicious seemed to be the only thing in his mind! The cabbages on Earth would more or less have some earthy taste if eaten raw. Furthermore, there were many fibers at the bottom, so it did not taste good when chewed. However, Zhang Bei broke off another leaf of the cabbage. It was still so delicious that he was speechless. ¡°The leaves are very crisp and tender. It bursts with juice when bitten. There are almost no fibers at the bottom either. Once bitten, the juice will fill your mouth. You don¡¯t need to chew much to swallow it.¡± Zhang Bei closed his eyes and enjoyed the joy the cabbage brought him. ¡°So why can¡¯t tomatoes and cucumbers bear fruits!!!¡± Zhang Bei was exasperated! He took out a cucumber and tomato seed and planted them in the flower pots again. After watering with the growth agent, Zhang Bei stood aside and observed carefully. After a while, the cucumbers and tomatoes grew shoots and branches. ¡°It¡¯s blooming.¡± Zhang Bei stared at each flower. After a while, the flowers still wilted, but the fruits still did not appear. Zhang Bei thought for a long time and opened each flower. Suddenly, he thought of something. ¡°Is it because there are no bees!?¡± Although bees had always been a loved and hated thing on Earth, their job as pollen carriers was an important part of the setting fruits. Zhang Bei went to get a pair of chopsticks and tied a piece of paper over its ends. He repeated the process. He first planted the seeds in the flower pot, watered them with the diluted growth agent, and waited for the flowers to bloom. He stared at the plants intently. When the flowers bloomed, he used chopsticks whose ends were tied with paper to collect the pollen. He dabbed the pollen on the female petals. One after another, he finally placed pollen in every flower. After a while, Zhang Bei saw fruits growing. About fifteen minutes later, the tomatoes and cucumbers were ripe. Zhang Bei looked at the bent branches, the tomatoes and cucumbers that were the same size as his head, and grinned. He plucked a tomato and bit into it. The juice splattered on Zhang Bei¡¯s face. He looked at the thin tomato skin and was stunned. ¡°This is so, so delicious!¡± Zhang Bei took a bite after another. Soon, he finished the entire tomato. He burped and rubbed his stomach, revealing a satisfied smile. ¡°I will eat the cucumber tonight.¡± Zhang Bei looked at the plants that were growing quite well and turned to go to the tent. He had eaten an entire tomato and no longer had the appetite to eat, so he lay in the tent, opened the door and window, and began to browse the world channel. ¡°Didn¡¯t someone say something was moving in space yesterday?!¡± ¡°It¡¯s me. What¡¯s wrong?!¡± ¡°I heard it too! And I saw it! It was a huge snake!¡± ¡°What???? A huge snake???!¡± ¡°Yes! And those eyes the size of my head! They kept looking at me! I didn¡¯t dare to sleep for the entire night!¡± ¡°But what I saw was something with legs like a spider¡¯s! Its legs were as tall as me!¡± ¡°Are you sure it¡¯s not an illusion?¡± ¡°I¡ I also heard the sound, but I didn¡¯t dare look. I used a box to cover myself.¡± ¡°Is there really a space monster?¡± ¡°Could it be a mutated creature?¡± These words stirred up a thousand waves in Zhang Bei¡¯s heart. ¡°If all the humans on Earth are assigned to the asteroids, what about the animals?¡± ¡°Could the animals have arrived into space directly and adapted to the environment?¡± Zhang Bei was afraid. If that was the case, cats and dogs would be as big as humans. It would be fine if it was a herbivore like cattle or sheep, but a carnivore¡ Humans would probably become their food. Zhang Bei came back from his thoughts and realized that he was drenched in cold sweat. ¡°It seems like I have to strengthen the defenses again.¡± He sighed. ¡°Maybe I can have a bodyguard to look after my resources? That would be even better,¡± thought Zhang Bei. Little did he know that his words would soon come true. He would soon face an even greater crisis, but after this crisis, he would obtain a huge opportunity. Zhang Bei lay for a while and was about to fall asleep when he suddenly saw the detector emit a blue light. He sat up. ¡°What is it this time?¡± His eyes shone.. Chapter 14 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios Zhang Bei excitedly sank his consciousness into the detector and was about to check the unknown surprise. As soon as he entered the detector, Zhang Bei was enveloped by a red light. ¡°Wasn¡¯t it blue? Why is it red!¡± Zhang Bei had an ominous feeling. The sound of the detector rang out. [This is bad! A monster is invading!] ¡°Monster?????¡± Zhang Bei suddenly remembered the creatures that others talked about in the World Channel. [Three hours later, the protective barrier will lose its effect against foreign creatures] [Master, please be prepared.] [The novice protection will disappear! Master, run! Otherwise, you will be eaten!] ¡°Why are you calling me Master? You didn¡¯t call me Master before.¡± Zhang Bei held his forehead and complained silently. [Aha! Of course it¡¯s to match your preferences!] ¡°I don¡¯t have such a preference!¡± Zhang Bei roared angrily! [Alright, alright, hurry up and prepare, otherwise you will be eaten by the monster.] Zhang Bei exited the detector and thought inwardly, ¡°If you¡¯re afraid of me dying, give me some weapons! Am I supposed to fight monsters on my own??¡± ¡°Speaking of which, did she forget to tell me the location of the blue light?!¡± Zhang Bei slapped his head and returned to the detector. ¡°Speaking of which, what¡¯s that blue thing? Where is it?¡± Zhang Bei asked the detector. [Aiya! I forgot to tell you! I don¡¯t know what it is either! But it¡¯s in the north! Hurry up and search!] Zhang Bei sighed and exited the detector. ¡°I have to upgrade this detector!¡± Zhang Bei thought to himself. Then, he looked at his protective measures and felt that it was still not enough. ¡°It is enough to resist some small creatures, but there is probably no way to deal with large creatures¡¡± Zhang Bei thought for a moment and took out a plant growth agent. ¡°I need to enhance the growth of these thorny brambles.¡± Zhang Bei poured the growth agent on each thorny bramble. After a while, the thorny brambles, which were about six meters tall, suddenly grew rapidly. As the growth agent stimulated them, the thorny brambles began to grow longer and longer¡ ¡°There¡¯s no more sunlight.¡± Zhang Bei watched as the brambles gradually grew, interweaving to block all the sunlight. Zhang Bei thought for a moment and took out a saw. ¡°I need to open an entrance for the supplies.¡± He first opened a small hole on the side that could allow a person to pass. Then, he thought of climbing to the top of the thorny brambles and creating an opening that could let the supplies fall. Zhang Bei was about to climb up when he looked at the thorny brambles and swallowed his saliva. ¡°If I climb up, I¡¯ll be turned into a sieve.¡± Zhang Bei thought for a moment, then used the remaining iron rods from last time to tie the saw together. Then, he tied each iron rod tightly with a cloth. ¡°Is this enough?¡± Zhang Bei raised the rods with all his might and started to use the saw to cut the thorny brambles on top. One branch, two branches¡ Just as he was about to collapse from the sawing, finally, sunlight shone on the ground. ¡°This is good. After all, the energy device still needs to be charged.¡± Zhang Bei put away the saw as well as the sawed thorny brambles. ¡°I can use these sawed thorny brambles as torches.¡± Zhang Bei took out a small knife and began to chip the thorny brambles off. ¡°Right, in the north, right?¡± Zhang Bei suddenly thought of the blue light. Then, he looked at the time. There were still three minutes before the mutated animals would invade. ¡°Forget it, let¡¯s block off the invasion first.¡± Zhang Bei¡¯s hands moved faster. Finally, he finished chipping off all the thorny brambles. He tied the chipped thorny brambles into a bundle and placed it aside. Then, he took some cucumbers, tomatoes, and cabbages and put them in the tent. Finally, he took the fully charged energy device to the tent. He pulled the door shut. He finished all this at one go. It was already dark outside. Zhang Bei opened the world channel, wanting to chat with the people. In the dark night, there were unknown dangers. Even Zhang Bei, who had a strong tolerance, was a little afraid. He opened the world channel and realized that space was much more complicated than he had imagined. ¡°Did you guys hear that?! The noise outside.¡± ¡°I heard the howl of a wolf. How terrifying.¡± ¡°What a huge snake! It¡¯s so scary!¡± ¡°Don¡¯t worry, they can¡¯t enter the protective shield¡ F*ck! What is this?????¡± ¡°Ahhhh, the wolf is coming!!! Help!!! Help!!!¡± ¡°The snake is here too! I don¡¯t want to be eaten!¡± Zhang Bei read the messages and felt fear. ¡°What exactly is near me?¡± He thought to himself, but he was still worried. Sha¡ sha¡ Zhang Bei heard a sound from outside. He froze and held his breath. After a while, he heard the rustling stop, so he lit the thorny brambles with a torch and walked out carefully. It was dark outside, and the torch in Zhang Bei¡¯s hand was very dazzling. Suddenly, a dark shadow pounced on him and extinguished the torch in his hand. Zhang Bei was shocked and took out a flame stick. ¡°Where did that thing go???¡± Zhang Bei looked around. Finally, in a field of thorny brambles, he found the creature that had just extinguished the flames. ¡°This is¡¡± Zhang Bei looked at the yellow fur in front of him¡ ¡°Chicken? Or rather, a chick?¡± He looked at the chick in the thorny brambles and reached out his fingers, wanting to touch it. ¡°Chi chi!!!!!!¡± Just as he was about to touch it, it opened its mouth and bit down. ¡°It hurts!!¡± Zhang Bei pulled back his hand. His hand had reddened and was about to bleed. Zhang Bei got courage from the anger. With one hand, he pulled the little yellow chick out of the thorny brambles. He pulled the little yellow chick and observed it carefully. ¡°Isn¡¯t this a little yellow chick?¡± Zhang Bei pinched its wings. ¡°Chi chi chi!¡± The little yellow chick was furious! It wanted to bite Zhang Bei again. This time, Zhang Bei was prepared! He grabbed the little yellow chick¡¯s head and flicked it strongly. The little yellow chick suddenly calmed down. It seemed to be stunned, and then it suddenly went crazy. It twisted around in Zhang Bei¡¯s hand. Then, when Zhang Bei wasn¡¯t paying attention, it jumped on his head and started to peck him hard. ¡°Ouch, ouch, ouch!¡± Zhang Bei grabbed the little yellow chick and flicked its little head. The little yellow chick kept chirping loudly for a long time. Zhang Bei could not bear to punish it more severely.. Chapter 15 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios Zhang Bei was playing with the chick and feeding it a large amount of cabbage leaves. He couldn¡¯t help but laugh when he saw the chick pecking at the vegetable leaves crazily. Boom! Just as Zhang Bei thought that the crisis was over, the asteroid suddenly shook violently! He quickly walked out of the tent and saw a huge black shadow standing on the top of the thorny brambles and looking down. Seeing Zhang Bei, the huge dark shadow raised its head and let out a series of clucking sounds, then spread its wings and flew down. When the shadow stood on the thorny brambles, Zhang Bei did not think that it was big. When the shadow flew down, he realized that the thing was twice as big as him! Zhang Bei watched as the shadow landed on the ground, stirring up a cloud of dust. The ¡®clucking¡¯ shadow approached and he finally saw its full appearance. ¡°White feathers¡ red crest¡ two claws¡¡± Zhang Bei¡¯s mouth twitched. ¡°Is this a f*cking chicken????¡± He broke down. Such a big chicken????? ¡°No matter how big it is, it¡¯s just a chicken, right?¡± Zhang Bei thought. ¡°If I can catch it¡¡± He had already thought of a hundred ways to cook this poor chicken. ¡°Boiled, fry, stir fry,¡¡± Zhang Bei swallowed. Then, he summoned his courage and picked up a kitchen knife, preparing to strike first. Unexpectedly, this big chicken was not only big, but also very intelligent. It rushed straight at Zhang Bei and grabbed his chest when he was unprepared. Zhang Bei was somewhat agile, so he took a step back and blocked with his hand. ¡°Aggh¡¡± Zhang Bei covered the wound on his arm with a painful expression. The chicken walked over with its head held high. Zhang Bei picked up the kitchen knife and defended himself. Just as the chicken was about to attack Zhang Bei again, a small yellow creature suddenly flew out of the tent window. ¡°Come back! You can¡¯t beat it!¡± Zhang Bei quickly tried to stop it, but the little yellow chick was too fast and he couldn¡¯t stop it. ¡°Chi chi chi!¡± Under Zhang Bei¡¯s stunned gaze, the little yellow chick rushed to the big white chicken and rubbed against it. ¡°Chi chi chi!¡± ¡°Cluck cluck cluck!¡± The two chickens that looked like father and son showed affection in front of Zhang Bei. ¡°So you came to find your son,¡± Zhang Bei said to the chicken. The big white chicken turned its head and looked at Zhang Bei. The killing intent in its eyes had decreased a lot, and its gaze was more probing. Just as Zhang Bei heaved a sigh of relief and was thinking about when they would leave, the big white chicken suddenly raised its crest and its body puffed up. It started to cluck at Zhang Bei, its eyes filled with killing intent. ¡°Ah!!! What are you doing?!¡± Zhang Bei held a kitchen knife in front of him and looked at the big white chicken vigilantly. The big white chicken hid the little yellow chick under its wings and looked behind Zhang Bei, clucking nervously. Zhang Bei turned around and was shocked. A huge¡ snake???? Zhang Bei was so scared that his legs were trembling. ¡°Help! Help!¡± Zhang Bei quickly ran to the big white chicken. The big white chicken looked at Zhang Bei in disdain but still let Zhang Bei hide beside it. The snake slithered down from the thorny brambles and instantly arrived in front of the big white chicken. The feathers of the big white chicken exploded, and its two feet began to scrape against the ground. The snake also straightened its body. Zhang Bei roughly estimated that it was about four meters long. Its long fangs gleamed coldly under the stars. ¡°Is this snake poisonous¡¡± Zhang Bei thought. Soon, Zhang Bei¡¯s guess was confirmed. Drops of liquid slid down the snake¡¯s fangs and dripped onto the ground. Then, the moss on the ground was corroded into black. ¡°This is too poisonous!!!¡± Zhang Bei shrunk behind the big white chicken. Suddenly, the snake attacked the big white chicken. The big white chicken refused to be outdone as it grabbed the snake with its steel-like claws. The chicken and snake were in an intense battle. When the big white chicken had a momentary lapse, the snake¡¯s tail struck its wings hard. ¡°Cluck cluck!¡± The big white chicken cried in pain and shook its wings, accidentally shaking the little yellow chick out. The moment the little yellow chick came out, the snake turned its eyes over and stared at the little yellow chick with its lantern-sized eyes. ¡°Not good!¡± Zhang Bei thought to himself. He quickly charged at the little yellow chick, and the snake moved as well, sweeping its tail toward it. At the last moment, when the snake touched the little yellow chick, Zhang Bei hugged it tightly. Then, the huge tail constricted Zhang Bei. Zhang Bei took out the little yellow chick and said to the big white chicken, ¡°Catch!¡± Then, he threw the little yellow chick into the arms of the big white chicken. ¡± The big white chicken hid the little yellow chick in the thorny brambles and looked at Zhang Bei¡¯s face which was gradually turning red. Finally, when Zhang Bei spat out a mouthful of blood, it charged at the snake. The snake had a large hole pecked in its stomach by the big white chicken¡¯s sharp beak, and it released Zhang Bei in pain. ¡°Ah!¡± Zhang Bei fell from the sky. Fortunately, the big white chicken quickly ran over and let Zhang Bei fall into the fluffy feathers on its back. ¡°Thank you.¡± Zhang Bei stroked the big white chicken¡¯s back. ¡®Cluck cluck cluck¡¯ The big white chicken seemed to be replying to Zhang Bei. The snake that had its stomach pecked open rolled around in pain. The big white chicken took the opportunity to finish the snake. The light in the snake¡¯s eyes gradually disappeared, and finally, there was no more movement. The big white chicken was also panting. It took two steps and fell to the ground. ¡°What¡¯s wrong?¡± Zhang Bei walked to the big white chicken and squatted down. The big white chicken cried weakly. Zhang Bei looked down. There were two large holes on the big white chicken¡¯s legs, and black blood was flowing out. ¡°Are you poisoned?¡± Zhang Bei tied the big white chicken¡¯s legs tightly with a cloth, afraid that the poison would flow into its heart. ¡®Cluck¡ cluc¡ cluc¡¡¯ The big white chicken¡¯s cries became weaker and weaker. Zhang Bei looked at the big white chicken and stroked its feathers. Tears fell from his eyes. ¡°Thank you for saving me¡¡± Zhang Bei said to it. The big white chicken looked at Zhang Bei and then at the little yellow chick in the thorny brambles. ¡®Chi chi chi¡¯ The little yellow chick ran over. It didn¡¯t know why its dad was lying on the ground and rubbed its dad¡¯s head. ¡®Cluckcluckcluck¡¯ The big white chicken screeched at the little yellow chick, and then used its last strength to rub against the little yellow chick. The little yellow chick noticed that its father suddenly stopped moving and rubbed its head anxiously. ¡°Chiii chiii chiiiii!¡± The little yellow chick seemed to be saying, ¡°Daddy, get up quickly. Let¡¯s go home together.¡± Zhang Bei¡¯s eyes reddened again. He hugged the little yellow chick and said to it, ¡°Don¡¯t worry, I¡¯ll protect you.¡± ¡°We will live together from now on..¡± Chapter 16 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios Dawn. The little yellow chick was still sleeping soundly in the tent. Zhang Bei held the knife and did not know where to start. ¡°Remove the skin first.¡± Zhang Bei took the knife and slowly peeled off the snakeskin inch by inch. After removing the skin, Zhang Bei washed it clean and hung it on the thorny brambles to dry. Then, Zhang Bei continued to cut the snake into pieces with the kitchen knife and put them in the fridge. ¡°The snake¡¯s head is so terrifying¡¡± Zhang Bei wanted to throw it, but he suddenly saw the snake¡¯s poisonous fangs. ¡°If I can extract the snake venom, it can also be used as a weapon.¡± ¡°There are also poisonous fangs. I can tie them to wooden sticks and make them into spears!¡± Zhang Bei picked up the test tube that was used to store the growth agent and squeezed the snake¡¯s teeth, leaving the venom in the test tube. Zhang Bei also used the same method to retrieve all the poison from the other fang. After removing the venom, Zhang Bei dug out the snake¡¯s teeth with a knife. ¡°I will just throw away the head.¡± There was naturally no trash bin in space, so Zhang Bei threw the snake head out of the protective cover. ¡°Big white chicken¡¡± Zhang Bei said guiltily,¡± Sorry, can I use your feathers? ¡± Zhang Bei bowed earnestly to the big white chicken and gathered its feathers. When he saw the big white chicken¡¯s black body, Zhang Bei¡¯s eyes couldn¡¯t help but turn red. After gathering the feathers, Zhang Bei lit a fire. ¡°Rest in peace.¡± Zhang Bei looked at the big white chicken that was burning in the great flames, and then closed his eyes. After a while, the fire was extinguished. Zhang Bei used the small bag in the small leather suitcase to store the ashes of the big white chicken and placed them beside the little yellow chick. The little yellow chick in its sleep seemed to have sensed its father¡¯s aura. It rubbed the little bag and fell asleep again. Zhang Bei stroked the little yellow chick¡¯s head and left the tent. Zhang Bei looked at the snake skin and touched it. It was a little damp. ¡°It should be fine after a while.¡± Zhang Bei turned around and picked up the smallest iron rod he had taken off the rack. He placed it on the ground and cut it with the hoe. Finally, a small metal piece was cut out by Zhang Bei. Then, he took a stone. He hit the metal piece again and again till it was ground into a needle-like shape. After the needle was done, Zhang Bei cut a few tattered clothes into strips. Then, he pulled out all the threads and joined four threads together, making a thicker thread by twisting them between his palms. After about an hour, Zhang Bei finally finished twisting enough threads. There were blisters on his palms from all the rubbing. He drenched his hand with water to ease the pain. He then went to check the snake skin again and realized that it had dried. He cut the snake skin into two. He folded one half and placed it aside. He cut the other half into three parts. One portion was small, and the other two were large. Zhang Bei first picked up the large snake skin, adjusted the angles, and folded it into a sack. Then, he sewed the corners with the needle and the thread, and left a small opening. He turned over the side of the stitches and stuffed the feathers into the hole. After filling it up, he sewed the hole and patted it. Zhang Bei placed the feather cushion on the ground and sat down. ¡°It¡¯s so soft!! So comfortable!!¡± Zhang Bei let out a comfortable sigh and lay down. After lying down for a while, he sat up and used another large piece of snake skin to make a blanket. Using the same method, Zhang Bei made a blanket. Finally, he picked up the small skin and noticed that it was a little larger. He cut off a portion and began to make a pillow. After stuffing the chicken feathers into the pillow, Zhang Bei sealed its mouth. He placed the pillow on the cushion and lay down. ¡°Ah! Comfortable!¡± Zhang Bei¡¯s entire body sank. ¡°Chi chi.¡± The little yellow chick woke up. It seemed to have smelled its father¡¯s scent and flew towards Zhang Bei. Seeing the little yellow chick rubbing its head on the feathers, Zhang Bei looked at the remaining snake skin and clothes. An idea came to his mind! He cut the clothes and skin into pieces and sewed them up. He then stuffed a lot of chicken feathers in. ¡°Come, see if you like it.¡± Zhang Bei waved at the little yellow chick. At first, the little yellow chick hated the smell of snake skin. Then, it went into the little nest and found that it was filled with its father¡¯s smell! The little yellow chick hopped around happily and ran away. ¡°Huh?¡± Zhang Bei looked at the little yellow chick strangely. After a while, the little yellow chick dragged the small bag with its father¡¯s ashes into its nest and nestled beautifully. Zhang Bei poked its little head and put a large number of vegetable leaves in its nest, then turned and walked out of the tent. He cleaned up the outside and then went to the greenhouse to pluck the mature vegetables and water them. He then returned to the tent and realized that he was a little dizzy from hunger. After some thought, he took out a packet of instant noodles, a piece of ham sausage, and a loaf of bread. The water was boiling and the noodles were ready. Zhang Bei took the instant noodles and was about to eat them when he noticed the little yellow chick fly out of the nest and squat beside him. Its small eyes were fixed on Zhang Bei. ¡°Do you want to eat this too?¡± Zhang Bei took out a piece of noodles and placed it in front of the little yellow chick. The little yellow chick imitated Zhang Bei and sucked the noodles into its stomach. ¡°Hahahaha!¡± Zhang Bei felt that little yellow chick was really cute. One person and one chick shared a bowl of instant noodles. The scene was really warm. In the lonely space, it was great luck to have a living being beside you. After the meal, the little yellow chick went back to its nest to sleep with its round belly. Zhang Bei suddenly felt sleepy. Just as he lay down, he thought of something and suddenly jumped up! ¡°Blue!!!!¡± Zhang Bei suddenly thought of something! He quickly connected to the asteroid and charged north. About an hour later, Zhang Bei finally saw the flashing blue light in the distance. He rushed over. The blue light pierced through the protective barrier and fell in front of Zhang Bei. ¡°Is this¡ an iron box?¡± He looked at the iron box in front of him and wondered if he had been deceived. ¡°Does the detector also make mistakes??¡± Zhang Bei wondered. ¡°Forget it, forget it. Let¡¯s bring it to the appraisal center to appraise first.¡± He carried the iron box and turned to enter the Appraisal Center. ¡°Welcome. What are you appraising this time?¡± The dwarf still greeted Zhang Bei politely. ¡°This box¡¡± Zhang Bei placed the iron box on the table. ¡°This¡ This is¡¡± The dwarf jumped onto the table! His face was filled with surprise! Chapter 17 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios The dwarf didn¡¯t say much. He looked deeply at Zhang Bei and then held the thing in his hand. A few minutes later, the dwarf returned the item to Zhang Bei. ¡°You¡¯re really lucky.¡± Zhang Bei took the box and thanked him before leaving the Appraisal Center. He returned to the tent and touched the iron box. Information rushed into his brain. Mechanical Civilization: Space Mecha¡ªcan be used to travel in space for a short time. ¡°Does this mean that I can go outside?¡± Zhang Bei was extremely excited and quickly opened the iron box. A white light flashed and a mecha about 2 meters tall appeared on the ground. The mecha was silvery-white in color and shone with a cold light. Its body was made of unknown metal. It was neither iron or steel. It was soft and tough. There was a round cover on the head. Zhang Bei opened it and took a look. It seemed to be made of plastic and was very light and convenient. He thought about it and turned the mecha over. However, he realized that the mecha was very heavy. He spent a lot of effort to finally turn it over. ¡°Are those oxygen cylinders hanging on the back?¡± Zhang Bei pushed the two small cylinders behind the mecha. ¡°Forget it, I¡¯ll try it first.¡± He got into the mecha and looked around. He didn¡¯t find any buttons. ¡°Is this thing broken?¡± Zhang Bei came out of the mecha and thought to himself. ¡°But I don¡¯t know how to repair this thing either.¡± He scratched his head. As an ordinary engineering student on Earth, although he knew how to repair household appliances, he had never repaired a mecha before. ¡°Why don¡¯t I open it?¡± Zhang Bei picked up a small knife and used it as a screwdriver to open the mecha. Fortunately, this mecha was very easy to dismantle. Zhang Bei started by dismantling the head first. He used the small knife to reach into the part connected to its head and shoulder, and then removed the screws one by one. His movements were very slow, although he was very anxious to see the world outside the protective barrier. Finally, Zhang Bei took off the head covering and found that the wires and connectors attached to the shoulder part of the cover were all broken. ¡°This will be a big job,¡± Zhang Bei smiled bitterly. Most of the wires were already broken, so Zhang Bei cut off the remaining few wires and took off the head cover. Zhang Bei looked at the densely packed circuit board and circuits and his head started to hurt. ¡°I finally didn¡¯t have to do this job after graduating, and now I¡¯m doing this again,¡± sighed Zhang Bei. God knew how much he hated fixing circuits! Zhang Bei used the small knife to carefully pull the circuits inside to see what the problem was. He would not have known if he had not seen it. But when he saw it, he was shocked. The circuits inside had basically all been destroyed, and the wires were also broken or tangled together. ¡°How am I supposed to fix this?!¡± Zhang Bei threw the knife to the ground and lay there. ¡°But I really want to go out and take a look,¡± sighed Zhang Bei. Zhang Bei lay on the ground and looked at the stars shining in space. ¡°I must fix it.¡± Zhang Bei sat up and made up his mind. Zhang Bei slowly continued to move the circuits while looking for the damaged and missing parts. He was mostly looking for wires and circuit boards, as well as tubes that connected to oxygen cylinders and the body.¡± After opening the mecha, Zhang Bei made a list of necessities. ¡°Let¡¯s take it slow. As long as I can find these things, space travel will not be a dream!¡± Zhang Bei felt his vision turning dark. He looked up at the sky and found that the light from the sun was growing dimmer and dimmer. ¡°Looks like it¡¯s night again.¡± Zhang Bei packed up, then put the mecha back into the iron box and carried it to the tent. After the busy day of experiencing ¡®cluck cluck¡¯ and ¡®chi chi¡¯, Zhang Bei was starting to feel hungry. The meal was still the same three: instant noodles, sausage, and bread. Zhang Bei opened the instant noodles, threw it into the kettle, and poured a bottle of water inside. Then he opened the bread and put the sausage in it, making a simple sandwich. ¡°Sigh¡ when can I eat roast chicken?¡± Zhang Bei thought of the frozen food in the fridge and couldn¡¯t help but feel vexed. Because there was no seasoning and no salt, Zhang Bei did not want to eat those frozen foods. ¡°When I have the condiments, I¡¯ll definitely eat meat every day!¡± Zhang Bei bit the bread in his mouth ruthlessly as if he was tearing at a drumstick. ¡°Chi chi chi.¡± Just as Zhang Bei was eating, the little yellow chick woke up. It swayed and flew over along with the fragrance, almost falling into the hot kettle. Zhang Bei was quick and caught it. ¡°Are you stupid? You¡¯ll be cooked if you fall in!¡± Zhang Bei flicked the little yellow chick¡¯s head. ¡°Chii chii!¡± The little yellow chick was extremely aggrieved. It rubbed its head against Zhang Bei¡¯s hand and whined. ¡°Do you want bread?¡± Zhang Bei broke off a small piece of bread and placed it in front of the little yellow chick. The little yellow chick walked to the bread and pecked at it twice. As if it felt it delicious, it chirped a few times and then started pecking rapidly. ¡°Hahaha.¡± Zhang Bei laughed when he saw the little yellow chick pecking at the bread. Ever since he had the little yellow chick, Zhang Bei felt his life was much brighter. It relieved him of a lot of fatigue and depression. When the noodles were ready, Zhang Bei took the kettle and picked up a pair of chopsticks to blow at it before putting it into his mouth. The little yellow chick finished a piece of bread and turned around to see Zhang Bei eating instant noodles. It quickly ran over. ¡°Hey, why do you like junk food so much?¡± Zhang Bei pinched the little yellow chick¡¯s wings and then gave it some instant noodles. ¡°Chi chi chi!¡± The little yellow chick seemed to be saying that Zhang Bei was also eating junk food. Then, the two of them continued eating. After eating and drinking, Zhang Bei lay down on the cushion made of snakeskin and chicken feathers. Zhang Bei felt like he was still on Earth. After finishing his work, he would go home to take a shower and go to bed. He felt the softness surrounding him and fell asleep quickly. Zhang Bei was sleeping soundly when he felt a vibration and woke up. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw the detector glowing green. ¡°This is¡¡± Zhang Bei rubbed his eyes. When he looked again, it was still green. ¡°Could it be wires?¡± Zhang Bei laughed. ¡°How can I have everything I want? It¡¯s probably a small electrical appliance or something.¡± As he immersed his consciousness into the detector, a cheerful girl¡¯s voice rang. ¡°Oh my god, why are you so late! Let me tell you, there¡¯s a lamp 500 kilometers south!¡± ¡°Lamp? What lamp? I don¡¯t even have a f*cking place to hang the light,¡± Zhang Bei complained. But after leaving the detector, he turned around and connected to the asteroid. ¡°Don¡¯t take advantage of me!¡± Zhang Bei flew towards the location indicated by the detector. He controlled the asteroid and looked at the stars in the sky. He was even more determined to go into space. ¡°After getting the lamp, I still have to see if anyone in the Exchange Platform has the things I want..¡± Chapter 18 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios Zhang Bei arrived at the location indicated by the detector in 20 minutes. In the distance, Zhang Bei saw a green light. As he got closer, he heard a familiar sound. The light broke through the bubble and flew towards Zhang Bei. ¡°What the f*ck?!!¡± Zhang Bei dodged to the side. Then, the light brushed past his body and fell to the ground. He patted his chest, still in shock. Then, he picked up the lamp from the ground and found that it was an adjustable table lamp. Zhang Bei took it into the tent and put the plug in the energy device. Immediately, the tent was brightly lit. Zhang Bei looked at the lights in the room with satisfaction and his heart warmed. Who didn¡¯t yearn for light? Especially in space where there was only starlight, this little light could completely comfort him. He estimated the time and realized that there were about ten hours before dawn. Looking at the sleeping little yellow chick, Zhang Bei smiled and lay back on the bed. He tossed and turned for a long time, but could not fall asleep. ¡°Why don¡¯t I see if there¡¯s anything I want on the Exchange Platform¡¡± Zhang Bei opened the Exchange Platform and started flipping through the pages. One page, two pages, three pages¡ Zhang Bei flipped for a long time until he reached more than 50 pages, but he still did not find what he wanted. While browsing the items, he started yawning. ¡°Looks like I¡¯m a little tired. I¡¯ll sleep for a while and ask on the world channel when I get up.¡± Zhang Bei covered himself with the blanket and closed his eyes. Before long, he fell asleep. After an unknown period of time, he heard ¡°chi chi chi¡±. When he opened his eyes, the sun was already shining. He blocked the sunlight with his hand. He turned his head and saw the little yellow chick running around his pillow, chirping as it ran. Zhang Bei grabbed the little yellow chick and brought it closer. ¡°So noisy!¡± As he spoke, he flicked the little yellow chick¡¯s head several times. The little yellow chick covered its head with its wings to prevent Zhang Bei from flicking its head again. Zhang Bei then moved to pinching its wings. After a while, the little yellow chick was extremely aggrieved. It angrily pecked Zhang Bei! ¡°Aiyo! How dare you peck me!¡± Zhang Bei held its little head. The little yellow chick struggled free and shook its butt in front of Zhang Bei before flying out. Seeing the little yellow chick flying around outside and not leaving the protective barrier, Zhang Bei was relieved. ¡°I will have breakfast first and inquire in the world channel if anyone has gathered anything like wires.¡± Zhang Bei went into the storeroom and took out a bag of noodles, bread, and ham sausage. He thought for a moment and took out a tomato. Zhang Bei boiled the noodles and divided the tomato into two. He stuffed half of it into his mouth and placed the other half on the ground. Then, the little yellow chick ran over and ate the half. After the man and chick finished their meal, Zhang Bei began to prepare to repair the mecha. ¡°Let¡¯s ask in the world channel first.¡± Zhang Bei opened the world channel. ¡°Did the animals break into your asteroid last time? F*ck, I encountered a mosquito bigger than my head!¡± ¡°I encountered a goose that was twice my size. It kept pecking at me.¡± ¡°There was a large earthworm on my side. So disgusting!¡± Zhang Bei thought for a while and said, ¡°I encountered a huge snake!¡± ¡°F*ck, are you still alive?¡± ¡°Snake¡ they are so scary ¡°You killed it!¡± Zhang Bei: ¡°No, it ran away.¡± ¡°Hahahahahaha!¡± Zhang Bei: ¡°Do you guys have any wires or something? I picked up a broken light bulb and wanted to see if it could light up.¡± ¡°Are you stupid? This place doesn¡¯t have electricity. So what if you have wires?¡± ¡°Exactly!¡± Zhang Bei continued jokingly, ¡°I just want to try. Those that have it can message me privately.¡± ¡°Hahahaha, okay, okay.¡± ¡°This person is really¡ But having some light in space will indeed make life brighter.¡± ¡°But food is still the most important.¡± Zhang Bei closed the world channel and saw that there were no private messages. He guessed that those who had the wires had not seen his message yet. ¡°Why don¡¯t I move around and see if I can bump into anything good?¡± Zhang Bei connected to the asteroid and floated aimlessly. ¡°Strange, I have moved so far, but I don¡¯t see anyone.¡± Zhang Bei scratched his head in confusion. ¡°But this is a good thing,¡± He thought to himself, ¡°If I meet a scheming person¡ it might not be a good thing.¡± Zhang Bei saw a white dot flashing in the distance, so he flew toward it. The distance was not too far. It only took an instant to reach the white spot. ¡°Pop.¡± There was the familiar sound. Zhang Bei saw a paper box fall. He opened the box and looked at the things inside. His eyelids twitched. ¡°May I ask what am I going to do with this box of sanitary pads!?¡± Zhang Bei roared! However, it was already here, so he put it in the storage room with a dark face. When Zhang Bei opened the Exchange Platform, he saw that someone had sent him a private message. ¡°Hello, do you need wires?¡± The other party asked politely. ¡°Yes, how much do you have?¡± Zhang Bei asked. ¡°Not much, about five meters. It fell here a few days ago.¡± ¡°Then how do you want to trade it?¡± Zhang Bei felt that the other party should be a girl and his tone softened. ¡°I haven¡¯t eaten in a long time¡ and my clothes¡ My pants are dirty too¡¡± Zhang Bei was stunned. Then, he boiled a pot of water and filled three bottles with hot water. He then brought out some bread and ham sausages. He also added a cup noodles. He thought for a while and put two packs of sanitary pads in the exchange. The other party quickly confirmed the transaction. Five-meter wires and a bag of seeds appeared beside Zhang Bei. ¡°Thank you so much¡ I need these things¡ I picked up that bag of seeds a few days ago. I don¡¯t know what they are, but I think you might be able to grow them¡¡± Zhang Bei smiled. ¡°Thank you. I need it.¡± ¡°You¡¯re welcome¡ No! I should be the one thanking you.¡± ¡°No need to be so uptight. My name is Zhang Bei. If you find anything in the future, you can ask me first. I can trade food or other things you need.¡± ¡°Thank you, Big Brother Zhang. My name is Lin Ya.¡± Lin Ya sent a friend request. Zhang Bei accepted the request, and a name appeared on his empty friend list. After closing the Exchange Platform, Zhang Bei sighed. ¡°Survival in space is much harder than one can imagine.¡± ¡°If I didn¡¯t have the detector, I would probably be worried about food right now.¡± ¡°I hope the future¡ If there is a future¡¡± ¡°Survive, I have to survive¡¡± Chapter 19 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios After Zhang Bei got the wires, he took the mecha out. Then, he looked at the parts of the mecha that were missing wires and estimated the approximate length. He divided the wires into several sections. At first, Zhang Bei used the hoe, but after thinking about it, he was afraid that the hoe would use too much strength and damage the copper wire, so he slowly broke it with his hands. ¡°This is such a tiring job.¡± Zhang Bei¡¯s hands were hurting. He looked at his reddened hands that were showing signs of cracking. He thought to himself, ¡°If I knew this would happen, I would have done this kind of electrical work back on Earth.¡± He would have saved himself the trouble of doing it so badly now. He sat on the ground and slowly broke the wires one by one. The little yellow chick ran over after eating and nudged him. ¡°Go play somewhere else. Can¡¯t you see that I¡¯m busy?¡± The chick started pecking at the wires as if it was trying to help Zhang Bei. Zhang Bei smiled and flicked the little yellow chick¡¯s little head. ¡°You don¡¯t have to help here. Go play by yourself.¡± The little yellow chick pecked at the wire again and realized that it really couldn¡¯t do anything to the wire. So, it waved its little wings and ran to the side to play by itself. Seeing the angry look on the little yellow chick¡¯s face, he smiled and continued to break the wires. One, two, three¡ Zhang Bei finally finished the required number. Then, he put away the remaining wire. But how to weld it? Zhang Bei thought for a long time, because the connection between the copper wires and the circuit board had to be welded. After thinking about it, he felt that there was no other way for the time being. ¡°Would it be better to heat it with fire and join it?¡± Zhang Bei took out a flame stick and slowly heated the copper wire. Then, he connected the heated copper wire with the exposed copper wire on the mecha and slowly heated them again. He would then twist the wires to connect them. ¡°Tsk, it¡¯s so f*cking hot.¡± After connecting one, Zhang Bei shook his hand. ¡°As long as the movements aren¡¯t too big and aren¡¯t too intense, this wire shouldn¡¯t break for the time being.¡± Zhang Bei dipped his hands in the cold water. ¡°But I still have to search for electrical tape to cover the exposed wires.¡± Zhang Bei did not want to be electrocuted to death while walking in space. After his hands cooled down, he heated the copper wires one by one and connected them with the wires inside the mecha. One, two, three¡ He slowly connected them one by one. By the time he finished connecting all the broken wires, it was almost dark. Zhang Bei looked at the sky and decided to wait until morning. It was better not to do this at night. After all, he did not know what would happen at night. What if some creatures invaded again? Then, he picked up the small iron box and put the mecha away. Zhang Bei looked at the darkening sky and called the little yellow chick back. The little yellow chick chirped and followed him back to the tent. ¡°Ah, I¡¯m so hungry!¡± Zhang Bei sighed. He thought about how he had not eaten for a long while because he had been repairing his mecha. Now that he was free, he felt his stomach rumbling as he started to feel hungry. Zhang Bei went to the storeroom and got instant noodles. He also got two pieces of chocolate bread that he exchanged last time and two sausages. Then, he poured a bottle of mineral water into the kettle and threw the instant noodles and condiments into the kettle when the water boiled. When the noodles were ready, Zhang Bei held the condiment sachets and thought for a while. ¡°Can the instant noodles seasonings be used to marinate the chicken wings?¡± He muttered. It was because there were chicken wings among the frozen food he had picked up previously. ¡°Marinate the chicken wings, skewer it with wood, and roast it over the fire. It should taste good, right?¡± Zhang Bei drooled. He was really craving the meat. This was because he had not eaten a single bite of meat since he came to space. He was about to forget what it tasted like. Zhang Bei had always been a person who did what he decided. He took out the frozen chicken wings from the fridge and put it aside to let it thaw. The instant noodles were ready, Zhang Bei held the electric kettle and ate the noodles from it. The little yellow chick chirped again. He gave it a few pieces of noodles and the two of them ate again. After eating the instant noodles, Zhang Bei felt that his stomach was still a little empty. He ate chocolate bread and naturally gave some to the little yellow chick. Probably because he had been working hard recently, Zhang Bei felt that he was hungry especially quickly. Moreover, he had to eat a lot of things every time to relieve his hunger. After eating a piece of bread, Zhang Bei felt that he still had some space in his stomach. However, he didn¡¯t plan to eat immediately. He was going to open a few instant noodles seasonings and marinate the chicken wings. Then, he would roast it with fire to see if it would taste better. ¡°If this works, there will be meat to eat in the future!¡± Zhang Bei¡¯s eyes shone. ¡°For the remaining instant noodles without the seasonings, I might as well use a packet of seasonings to make two packets of instant noodles. Or I can trade instant noodles without seasonings to exchange things with others.¡± He calculated carefully in his heart. It was completely dark outside, and only the stars shone in the sky. Zhang Bei turned on the table lamp in the tent. Warm light filled the entire tent, creating a warm atmosphere. The little yellow chick was also tired after eating. Zhang Bei poked its little head and said, ¡°Go to sleep if you¡¯re tired.¡± Then, the little yellow chick ran to its nest and fell asleep. He was also a little sleepy, but he still wanted to wait for the chicken wings to thaw and roast them. So he lay on the bed and turned on the world channel. ¡°It¡¯s a little like browsing Weibo before sleeping on Earth.¡± Zhang Bei smiled. ¡°Brothers, who have food¡ I¡¯m really starving.¡± ¡°Who has water¡?¡± ¡°Just now, a large iron box smashed in front of me. I thought it was something good, but it was a broken computer.¡± ¡°Computers are good things! Hurry up and play games!¡± Someone mocked. ¡°Don¡¯t mention it. Whoever wants it can take it. Just give me something to eat.¡± That person was helpless. ¡°Don¡¯t joke around. Who would use food to exchange for this thing with you!¡± Everyone was mocking him for dreaming. ¡°Sigh¡¡± That person was already so desperate that he couldn¡¯t speak. Zhang Bei opened the private chat.. Chapter 20 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios ¡°Hello, are you there?¡± Zhang Bei asked anxiously. After about three seconds, just as Zhang Bei was about to send another message, the other party replied, ¡°Yes. What can I do for you?¡± Zhang Bei was overjoyed. He asked, ¡°How do you want to trade that thing of yours?¡± The other party hesitated for a moment and asked, ¡°What do you want this thing for? What do you plan to exchange for it? I only want to exchange it for food.¡± Zhang Bei heaved a sigh of relief and said, ¡°That¡¯s okay. How much food do you want?¡± The other party thought for a while and said, ¡°I want three days¡¯ worth of food.¡± Zhang Bei did not agree immediately. After all, food was very hard to come by nowadays. It was better to save as much as possible. Zhang Bei: ¡°Two days. I¡¯m not the kind of person who takes advantage of others. Food is indeed too scarce. Two days¡¯ worth of food is the highest I can afford. If you agree, we can trade. If you don¡¯t agree, then forget it. Anyway, I don¡¯t really need this thing.¡± After about a minute, the other party replied that it was a deal. Zhang Bei took out two days¡¯ worth of food and placed it aside to confirm the deal. After about ten seconds, the other party¡¯s item was also exchanged. He took a look at it and found that it was a classic old computer console. Its black outer shell had lost a lot of its paint. Zhang Bei didn¡¯t care much about its outer shell. He only cared about the circuit board and wires inside. He picked up the small knife and removed all the screws, then carefully put them aside. He opened the back cover of the console to see if there was anything he could use. Zhang Bei was very happy. Not only were the wires and other things intact, but the circuit board was also intact. He thought that there was definitely hope for this mecha repair. First, he carefully removed the wires while keeping the interfaces intact. Then, he removed the circuit board and checked the storage cards. ¡°I wonder if this mecha can install things like these storage cards.¡± Zhang Bei didn¡¯t think too much about it. He just put them aside, and picked up the circuit board. This was the most important thing. But when he picked it up, he found that there were many things missing. The various test points inside were not connected, and there was no silicon material inside. This was like pouring a bucket of cold water on Zhang Bei. It was so cold that his heart chilled. ¡°How can I repair such a high-tech thing like circuit boards in space?¡± Although he was from the engineering department, he had never built a circuit board before. Zhang Bei held the circuit board and looked around, feeling helpless. After a while, Zhang Bei suddenly thought of something. If he could melt the copper, or connect it directly with the copper wire, would that be enough? Could he consider replacing silicon material with something else? He looked at the circuit board and thought for a while. He decided to try melting the copper first. When Zhang Bei connected the wires earlier, he had used fire to burn the wires. After the wires were softened, he connected them together. He should be able to melt copper wires and connect the test points on the circuit board. He was a doer. He first picked up the flame stick. Because the fire needed this time was indeed larger, he used the thorny brambles that he had cut down previously and piled them together. Then, he lit a fire. Zhang Bei piled the mecha and some necessary items beside the fire. He would repair it all together. This would save a lot of energy. He thought for a while. Since he had already lit the fire, he might as well take out the chicken wings and cook them as well. Zhang Bei looked at the bag of chicken wings beside the bed. The chicken wings had thawed and become soft. He brought over a few packets of instant noodles, took out the seasoning packs and put them in a basin. Instead of calling it a basin, it was more like a slightly larger pot from the kitchen wares that he had picked up earlier. Zhang Bei washed the chicken wings with water and made a few incisions with a knife to make it easy for the condiments to seep in. Then, he put them in the pot. He put 20 chicken wings in the pot, opened the seasoning packets, and sprinkled them over the chicken wings. He rubbed the chicken wings hard to let the flavor of the condiment bag seep into the chicken wings, then put the chicken wings aside and waited for them to marinate. While waiting for the chicken wings, the copper wires were still being burned. Zhang Bei realized that after a certain period of time, the copper wires would only be burned red, but they would not melt. ¡°Looks like I have to think of other ways. After all, the circuit board needs melted copper wire. This definitely won¡¯t do,¡± Zhang Bei scratched his head and thought. Then, he casually threw the copper wires beside the fire. He suddenly recalled that the connected copper wire was exposed. If there was a leak, it might be dangerous. Therefore, he cut off a part of the water pipes in the greenhouse, and then cut them into small pieces. He quickly heated the plastic, softened it, and wrapped the exposed copper wire with it. He heated the pipe pieces one by one. With his quick reflexes, he quickly finished wrapping all the copper wires. ¡°It¡¯s much safer this way. I¡¯ll feel much more at ease when I use the mecha to explore in the future, and won¡¯t have to worry about electric shock.¡± ¡°The chicken wings should be marinated.¡± Zhang Bei walked into the tent and looked at the chicken wings scattered all over the table. He breathed in the fragrance and couldn¡¯t help but drool. He chipped a few thorny brambles into skewers, making it easier to spit-roast the chicken wings. After some thought, he took out a few more ham sausages and skewered them as well. Then, he scored them lightly. This way, it would be easier to roast them. He then began to insert the chicken wings into the skewers. Soon, Zhang Bei finished preparing a few skewers of chicken wings and brought them outside to roast beside the fire. Chapter 21 Zhang Bei looked at the chicken wings that were roasting and his eyes were filled with flames. However, his thoughts couldn¡¯t help but return to when he was on Earth. Back on Earth, he was just a small programmer. He worked overtime every day until nine. He felt that his body was no longer as strong as before. At that time, his waist and legs would hurt, or there would be problems with his heart, liver, spleen, and lungs. Ever since he came to space, he felt much better. Zhang Bei couldn¡¯t help but smile bitterly. ¡°After all, I do so much physical work every day. I feel like I¡¯ve done more physical work in space than I did on Earth in the past twenty years.¡± As expected, exercising was the truth. Zhang Bei smiled and flipped the chicken wings over, waiting for them to be cooked. He looked at the fire in a daze. After about ten minutes, the chicken wings were cooked. He picked up a chicken wing and smelled it. It smelt quite good. Then, he bit into it; the chicken wing was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It was very delicious, so he started eating quickly. He finished all the chicken wings, patted his stomach, and burped. Then, he returned to the tent and lay on the bed. Before long, he fell asleep. ¡°Chi chi chi.¡± Zhang Bei opened his eyes. Sunlight shone in from the window. The sky was no longer filled with stars. Zhang Bei smiled bitterly and patted the little yellow chick¡¯s head. ¡°You¡¯re so punctual. Waking me up immediately when there¡¯s sunlight.¡± The little yellow chick chirped for a long time. Then, Zhang Bei rubbed his eyes and sat up from the bed. Because he didn¡¯t put out the fire at all yesterday, but placed it outside to increase the temperature, there was still a weak fire burning when he went out. Suddenly, he saw a pile of shiny things shining beside the fire. Zhang Bei walked closer and saw that the copper wire that was placed there yesterday had already been burned into a pool of liquid. He thought to himself, ¡°Could it be that it needs to be heated for a long time to turn into a liquid state?¡± He rekindled the fire and placed a few copper wires beside it. He was going to see if the copper wires would turn into liquid, while he prepared food. He returned to the tent. He took out a pack of instant noodles, two ham sausages, and a loaf of bread from the storeroom. It was still the same three foods. ¡°If only I could have meat for every meal.¡± However, that was unrealistic. First of all, it would not taste good without seasoning. Therefore, he temporarily gave up on this idea. He still picked up the kettle and filled it with water. After boiling the water, he threw the noodles into the hot water. The ham sausages were cut into pieces and placed aside. Zhang Bei picked up the bread and started eating. The little yellow chick flew over and looked at Zhang Bei with its small eyes shining with golden light. He smiled and broke off a piece of bread and pushed it to the little yellow chick. While the little yellow chick started eating the bread, the noodles were ready. Zhang Bei looked at the cooked noodles and took them off the kettle. He sat on the bed and started eating. The little yellow chick looked at him. He gave a few more noodles to the little yellow chick, and the two of them ate happily. After eating and drinking, he thought that it was about time, so he went out to take a look. The copper wires beside the fire were burning red, and were already showing signs of softening, so he sat to the side and looked at the world channel while waiting to see when the copper wires turned into liquid. There were many people chatting on the world channel, and most of them were still talking about food. ¡°Sigh, I only ate a few pieces of bread these past two days. I finally picked up a piece of chocolate, but it had nuts inside. I am allergic to nuts. I¡¯m really unlucky.¡± ¡°It¡¯s not the time to worry about your allergies. Life is more important. Brother, can¡¯t you just take the nuts out?¡± ¡°I found a bag of candy. All I have been eating these past few days are these candies, I¡¯m so sick of it. I didn¡¯t even see a bottle of water. If this continues, I might have to drink my own urine.¡± ¡°Stop it, man. I haven¡¯t had water in days. I had a cut on my hand a few days ago, and I spent a lot of time there sucking the blood before I came to quench my thirst. I think I¡¯m losing my mind.¡± ¡°Sigh, so you guys haven¡¯t found the real thing. A few days ago, when I was flying in space, I picked up a box of instant noodles. God, it feels so nice.¡± ¡°Then do you have water?¡± ¡°Can you cook it?¡± ¡°You picked up a box of instant noodles, but aren¡¯t you only able to eat it dry?¡± ¡°Is he really showing off?¡± ¡°But at least I have food. You guys don¡¯t have anything to eat. What trash. Your luck is so bad, you might as well die. You are wasting air by living.¡± Zhang Bei felt that this person¡¯s words were indeed unpleasant, but he would never participate in such things as a peace-loving guy. Therefore, he watched them argue and curse each other¡¯s ancestors. Zhang Bei looked at these uncultured people and shook his head helplessly. He thought that they would probably continue the cursing for a long time. He turned his head to observe the copper wires again. Unexpectedly, the copper wires had already turned into liquid. Zhang Bei estimated that the copper wires turned into liquid in about 15 to 20 minutes. However, firstly, the fire needed to be sufficiently high. The higher the temperature, the less time it would take. Otherwise, it would take a long time. Therefore, when Zhang Bei thought about it carefully, he felt that this was a good idea. Therefore, Zhang Bei first threw all the copper wires into the fire, then put a small sheet of iron below to collect them. 25 minutes passed. Zhang Bei¡¯s small iron sheet was filled with melted copper. He dipped a small iron rod into the melted copper and connected the test points in the circuit board one by one. While he was connecting the copper lines, the little yellow chick paced around. After about an hour, Zhang Bei finally finished repairing the circuit board. He stood up and wiped his sweat. He held the newly repaired circuit board in his hand. Although it was rough, it could still be used. He loaded the circuit board onto the mecha and pressed the button on the mecha to see if it could be activated. Zhang Bei did not dare to let go of the button at all, until the button suddenly turned blue. He was wild with joy. ¡°My hand is so tired,¡± Zhang Bei complained, but he didn¡¯t dare to let go. He was afraid that if he let go, the mecha would stop working. The mecha trembled slightly, and its hands shook.. Chapter 22 The mecha made a buzzing sound. Zhang Bei was extremely excited. He took a step back and observed the mecha carefully. After letting out a buzzing sound, the mecha¡¯s limbs moved slightly. Zhang Bei thought to himself, ¡°It¡¯s finally fixed. Thus, he put on the oxygen mask in front of him and lay down inside. After putting on the oxygen mask, which was a transparent glass cover, he found that there was no stuffy feeling inside. Zhang Bei carefully observed the interior of his mecha. When he lay down, there was no discomfort because the materials inside were made of very soft materials. He looked up and saw some buttons on the panel. Each button corresponded to different functions. Then, Zhang Bei tried to press the start button. The hands and feet of the mecha started to tremble slightly, but Zhang Bei realized that this mecha could not stand up at all. He tried pressing other buttons and realized that other than moving its hands and feet, the mecha could not stand up and walk freely. Zhang Bei thought that he had pressed the wrong button, so he pressed every button inside the mecha. He realized that the mecha was only in a state where it could move its limbs. Zhang Bei was extremely disappointed. He came out of the mecha and kicked it. ¡°What lousy thing, can¡¯t even move? It was clearly shining just now, but why can¡¯t it move?¡± He was anxious. He scratched his head hard, then returned to the tent and lay down. Lying in bed and looking at the sun through the window of the tent, Zhang Bei¡¯s frustration grew. He went to the fridge and drank a bottle of cold water. After drinking the entire bottle, the world fell silent. Yes, why was he angry? Why was he in a hurry? The fact that it was so easily fixed meant that this thing was useless. Zhang Bei tried his best to calm himself down and began to observe why the mecha could not move. It was possible that because of the wires and the circuit boards, there were many reasons why this mech could not move. He could only put the matter of the mecha away for now. Suddenly, the detector buzzed. Zhang Bei saw blue. He was shocked. This mecha appeared when the blue color appeared last time, could this blue light be related to this mecha as well? Zhang Bei was so excited that he quickly immersed his consciousness into the detector. It was still the familiar voice. [South] followed by three question marks. He was already used to it. Because the level of the detector was still not high enough, it could only detect the general direction, but could not detect the specific location and object. He exited the detector and connected to the asteroid before slowly moving south. He dodged the corpses of those who died in the previous mutated animal invasion and their asteroids. Zhang Bei moved left and right. Suddenly, an asteroid blocked his path. Just as he was about to go around it, he realized that there was a patch of green on it. Zhang Bei thought to himself, ¡®Is there anyone else who has planted things on the asteroid like me?¡¯ He quickly approached the asteroid and connected his protective membrane to the other side, then jumped over. When he jumped over, he found that the ground was very soft. He looked down and realized that he was stepping on an emerald-green grassland. Zhang Bei was shocked. He quickly looked around to see if there was anyone, but to his disappointment, there was no one on this asteroid. The worst and only outcome was that this person had already passed away. Whether it was due to the meteor shower or the monster invasion, this person had passed away. Zhang Bei picked up a few stones and built a small tombstone. He took a few thorny brambles from his asteroid and stuck them in the front to light them up. ¡°Have a safe trip, brother.¡± He carefully searched the surface of the asteroid, but found nothing else. So, he pulled some grass and transplanted it into his greenhouse, preparing to plant some grass on the surface of his asteroid. When he returned to his asteroid, he looked at that asteroid again and sighed. ¡°If humans had realized the importance of protecting Earth earlier, perhaps this wouldn¡¯t have happened.¡± Zhang Bei continued to move in the direction predicted by the detector. After all, the most important thing for him now was to search for resources and survive. After moving for nearly half an hour, Zhang Bei arrived close to the location. He saw a blue light spot in the distance. ¡°It should be there.¡± He drove the asteroid over. Following the familiar sound, a small plastic box fell to the ground. It sounded like it was very heavy. Zhang Bei picked up the box and opened it. There was a set of tools inside. Although it was called a set of tools, there were actually only four types: a hammer, a cross hammer, a flat hammer, and a small screw plier. ¡°That¡¯s enough.¡± Zhang Bei was repairing his mecha every day. He was worried about breaking the small knife if he kept on using it. Even if the small knife did not break, he was afraid that he would accidentally cut or break something. That way, he would never be able to fulfill his wish of traveling in space. He put away the tools and cut off the connection with the asteroid. Looking at the darkening sky, Zhang Bei felt very uncomfortable. He felt that the daytime was becoming shorter and the night was becoming longer. He suddenly remembered that he had learned geographical knowledge when he was in school. The location he was in probably had polar night and polar day. ¡°Sigh, since it¡¯s dark, let¡¯s not bother about other things. It won¡¯t be good if something dangerous happens in the dark. I should protect myself first.¡± He closed the window and door of the tent and rushed the little yellow chick back to its nest. Then, he turned on the table lamp in the tent and lay on the bed. He turned on the world channel to see the past conversation and what everyone was doing now. He noticed an intense discussion in the channel. It piqued his interest and he wanted to see what they were talking about. Suddenly, a self-proclaimed cosmologist posted, ¡°I recently predicted some cosmic phenomenons. There might be a very big disaster in the cosmos soon..¡± Chapter 23 He noticed an intense discussion in the channel. It piqued his interest and he wanted to see what they were talking about. Suddenly, a self-proclaimed cosmologist posted, ¡°I recently predicted some cosmic phenomenons. There might be a very big disaster in the cosmos soon.¡± ¡°What kind of cosmic disaster?¡± ¡°What kind of cosmic phenomena? What will happen?¡± ¡°Is it an animal invasion like last time?¡± Everyone asked. Zhang Bei also wanted to see what kind of disaster it was. The cosmologist said, ¡°I don¡¯t have any equipment. I only calculated according to the surrounding planetary movements, the distance of the sun, and the activity of the sunspots. There is a high chance that there will be a cosmic phenomenon soon, but I don¡¯t know what it is.¡± ¡°Then what were you even saying?¡± ¡°Exactly, have you gone blind? Hahaha!¡± ¡°Maybe something good will happen, hahahaha.¡± ¡°I only know that the last time this kind of cosmic phenomenon happened, our planet suffered a very destructive blow,¡± the cosmologist said solemnly. ¡°What kind of destructive blow?¡± someone asked. ¡°You all know about the Mayan civilization, right? The destruction of the Mayan civilization was a great calamity.¡± The cosmologist paused for a moment and continued, ¡°And at that time, it shouldn¡¯t be just our planet that was in a state of destruction. Other planets were also more or less affected. Furthermore, we no longer have the protection of Earth to face this cosmic phenomenon. We can only struggle on the asteroids.¡± The cosmologist continued, ¡°I had no desire to survive in this environment at the start, but I feel that as a scholar who studies the universe, I should tell you this. You have the right to choose survival. No matter what happens in the future, I feel that you have to face your choices.¡± ¡°At least I still want to survive, because only by surviving can there be hope.¡± ¡°Yes, yes. You¡¯re right. There¡¯s hope only if we survive. Let¡¯s focus on defense.¡± Zhang Bei turned off the world channel and thought about his defense arrangements carefully. ¡°I have a wall of thorny brambles outside and a cement tent inside. The defense is solid, but I don¡¯t know what this cosmic phenomenon is.¡± Zhang Bei thought hard. He thought for a long time but couldn¡¯t think of anything. ¡°Forget it. The detector should warn me when the time comes. It¡¯s not too late to make plans when it does.¡± So he lay on the bed, his eyes beginning to close as he tried to fall asleep. Beep beep beep. Zhang Bei was awakened by a series of rapid sounds. He opened his eyes in confusion and saw his detector shining with a red light. It was blinking rapidly. The last time he saw the red light flashing was during the meteor shower and animal invasion, but it was not as rushed as this time. With a serious expression, he sank his consciousness into the detector. ¡°Warning! Warning! A cosmic disaster is coming in five hours!¡± Zhang Bei frowned and said, ¡°What cosmic disaster? Tell me clearly.¡± Then the detector said, ¡°A cosmic disaster means a calamity that can destroy an entire galaxy.¡± ¡°Then why is this disaster happening?¡± Zhang Bei asked with a frown. ¡°It¡¯s because of the black hole. You know about the black hole, right? A black hole can devour the planets around it, the stars, and the satellites. When it devours to a certain extent, the black hole can¡¯t take it anymore, and it will explode. When it explodes, it will emit a very dazzling light. That light is similar to the nature of the black hole. It can devour everything around it. The areas that are slightly further away might not be devoured, but they will also be affected. The crisis this time is mainly because of that light.¡± Zhang Bei broke out in cold sweat. ¡°How can I block the light?¡± ¡°I am only responsible for telling you about the crisis. I have no way of telling you how to resist, but young man, you have to work hard to survive. Use all your strength and all your means.¡± By the time he exited the detector, Zhang Bei¡¯s clothes were drenched in cold sweat. Humans could not resist the power of the universe, especially such a huge amount of energy. How could they resist it? For the first time, he had the thought of giving up. ¡°Why don¡¯t I just die like this?¡± He lowered his head and scratched the scar on his palm. Suddenly, the little yellow chick fluttered its wings and jumped onto Zhang Bei¡¯s lap. He touched the little yellow chick¡¯s head, and it rubbed its head against his palm. Feeling the furry and warm feeling in his hand, hope suddenly burned in his heart. Yes, there was hope if he lived. He could no longer sleep, so he walked out of the tent and looked at the thorny brambles under the starlight. He shook them hard and kicked them again. In fact, the thorny bushes were still very hard, but against that kind of light, weren¡¯t they useless? How long could the tent resist it? Zhang Bei had planted the previous thorny brambles closer to the tent and now he was preparing to plant a few more circles outside. He crawled out of the gap in the thorny brambles and planted another circle of thorny brambles outside. Then, he poured a cap of diluted growth agent and let the growth agent spur their growth. Within a few moments, the thorny brambles grew to more than ten meters tall, covering the entire sky. Zhang Bei did not stay idle either. He continued to plant the thorny seeds and watered them with the diluted growth agent, covering the tent tightly in the middle. Then, he trimmed the thorns on the inside. He then began to organize the supplies. He moved all the supplies together, especially the valuable items. He gathered them together and used a drop of growth agent to grow small thorny brambles around them. Even if the protective measures outside were destroyed, and the tent was also gone, he could at least ensure that these items would not be destroyed. The detector said five hours. Three hours had passed by the time Zhang Bei finished all this, and there were still two hours left. Looking at the warm light in the tent and the little yellow chick sprawling on its back by his legs, he felt a little melancholic. He did not know if he would be safe and sound in this crisis. ¡°No matter what, I have to eat my fill first.¡± Zhang Bei took out the instant noodles and put them in the kettle. Then he added two sausages and took out a piece of bread, handing it to the little yellow chick. Zhang Bei looked at the little yellow chick pecking vigorously. He suddenly remembered that there were still some tomatoes and cucumbers. He took out a tomato and a cucumber and gave half of each to the little yellow chick. Seeing the little yellow chick eating happily, Zhang Bei¡¯s appetite became better.. Chapter 24 After having his fill, Zhang Bei lay lazily on the bed. He looked at the warm light in the room and the sleepy little yellow chick beside him and couldn¡¯t help but close his eyes. When he woke up again, it had been an hour. He looked at the time and estimated that there were still a few minutes. Zhang Bei¡¯s palms were sweaty as he gripped his pants tightly. Time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, it was time indicated by the detector. There was a loud bang outside. The vibration caused the dust on the tent to fall. Because Zhang Bei had surrounded the entire tent with thorny brambles, he could not see the situation in space clearly. But he could see a small point of light far away through the gap in the thorny brambles. It was growing larger, and soon, the light which shone green and blue spread rapidly. ¡°F*ck!¡± Zhang Bei quickly controlled the asteroid to escape in the opposite direction. He controlled the asteroid crazily with his mind. ¡°Faster, faster.¡± Zhang Bei felt that he had reached his limit. His head hurt very, very much, like thousands of needles were stabbing into him. It was very painful. Cold sweat dripped down his pale face, drop by drop. ¡°Chi chi chi.¡± The little yellow chick ran towards Zhang Bei. It seemed that it had also sensed danger. He reached out and pulled the little yellow chick into his arms, then continued to control the asteroid with his mind as he charged in the opposite direction. ¡°It¡¯s too late.¡± Zhang Bei looked at the speed of the light. He definitely couldn¡¯t escape. Therefore, he quickly hid in the tent with the little yellow chick in his arms. ¡°Sizzle!¡± It was as if hot oil had fallen into water and flesh had hit an iron plate. Hearing the sounds of the thorny brambles outside, Zhang Bei opened the window of the tent and took a look. He found that although the thorny brambles outside were still resisting, there were already holes in them. Seeing that the thorny brambles were about to collapse, he quickly picked up the thorny bramble seeds that he had collected earlier. The thorny brambles in the periphery had basically been destroyed, and had now reached the second layer. Zhang Bei hurriedly took out a handful of thorny bramble seeds and sprinkled a large amount of diluted growth agent, then threw them outside. In an instant, another thorny bramble wall was built outside. ¡°This works!¡± Zhang Bei kept on throwing thorny bramble seeds. Basically, the areas around the tent were covered in thorny seeds, but the light was too violent and destroyed them layer by layer. When the last handful of thorny bramble seeds were scattered, he hid in the tent with the little yellow chick. The noises outside had not stopped, and Zhang Bei¡¯s heart was trembling. Soon, Zhang Bei saw the light outside from the gap in the tent becoming more and more dazzling. The shelter he had painstakingly built was about to be destroyed. Suddenly, he touched an iron box. It was his mecha that had completed the repair but was unable to move. Zhang Bei looked at the dazzling light outside and smiled bitterly as he put on the mecha and lay down with the little yellow chick in his arms. ¡°Let¡¯s see if it can stand up.¡± Zhang Bei pressed many buttons. After a long time, the mecha still did not stand up. Zhang Bei put down his hand and lay in the mecha. He said to the little yellow chick, ¡°Looks like we¡¯re really going to die together today.¡± He closed his eyes. Suddenly, a buzzing sound was heard. The mecha actually moved. Zhang Bei tried his best to prop it up. Although it did not move nimbly, it was stable. Step by step, he moved to the outside of the tent and used all his strength to stretch out the mecha¡¯s arms to the sides. Then, a miracle happened. The mecha actually blocked the destructive light. The light formed a screen in front of him, but it did not invade his body at all. He was stunned. Could the material of this mecha be able to resist the light of this kind of explosion? Zhang Bei quickly used all his strength to resist the light. Although the light could not enter the mecha, it still made Zhang Bei feel oppressed. Suddenly, he saw a huge red button inside the mecha. He thought that it was some tool or protective device, so he pressed it hard. There was a loud sound, the left leg of the mecha exploded. The pain from the left leg transmitted to him, and Zhang Bei almost fainted. His face became even paler. Cold sweat flowed down his neck and into his clothes, soaking it. ¡°Repair function? There¡¯s this?¡± Zhang Bei clicked on the repair function and found that the left leg of the mecha had undergone self-repair. Then, he suddenly thought of something, if it could be used to repair the mecha, was it possible to repair the thorny barrier outside? He resisted the resistance brought by the light and moved to the thorny brambles, pressing the repair button. Bang! This time, the entire transparent cover around Zhang Bei¡¯s head was broken, and the little yellow chick was sent flying as well. The light seemed to have noticed Zhang Bei¡¯s current situation and attacked him again. He quickly picked up the transparent head cover and put it over his head. He frantically pressed the repair button, but it was useless. When he looked around, he found that the copper wires had all been burnt. Zhang Bei quickly picked up the little yellow chick and stuffed it into the tent. He used all his strength to use his body to block the shelter. A long time seemed to have passed, Zhang Bei was about to suffocate from the immense pressure. Finally, the light grew dimmer and dimmer before disappearing. It was still a sky full of stars and a tattered barrier of thorny brambles. Zhang Bei¡¯s face was pale and he was about to faint. He looked around and felt that there should not be any more light coming over. He got out of the mecha. He fell to the ground, gasping for air. He tried his best to move, but a sharp pain came from his left leg. However, he could still stand up and walk. ¡°Fortunately, there are no broken bones.¡± He used cardboard to bandage his leg and moved into the tent step by step. In the tent, Zhang Bei looked at his warm little nest and was about to cry. ¡°Fortunately, there¡¯s still the thorny brambles and the mecha. Otherwise, I really wouldn¡¯t know what to do.¡± He opened a bottle of mineral water and took off his clothes. Looking at his wounds, he poked a few holes in the bottle and washed his wounds. After washing the wounds, Zhang Bei lay on the bed. He felt the ache in his body and the pain in his wounds. He suddenly felt how insignificant he was. After lying down for a while, he realized that he couldn¡¯t sleep at all, so he lay in bed and turned on the world channel.. Chapter 25 ¡°What¡¯s wrong with the sun? The black spots seem to be moving more and more frequently,¡± the cosmologist said to his wife as he watched the sunspots move more and more intensely. His wife said, ¡°You¡¯re thinking too much. After all, in an environment like the explosion on Earth, it¡¯s normal for sunspots to move around frequently, right?¡± The cosmologist stared at it for a while longer. ¡°No, the thing beside the sun doesn¡¯t seem to be the activity of blackspots. It seems to be a black hole.¡± His wife frowned and also looked at it seriously. ¡°A black hole? Normally, a black hole appearing beside a star is not a good sign. Just like the Mayan civilization before, is this also a foresight of a disaster?¡± The cosmologist frowned and thought carefully. Then, he opened the world channel and messaged everyone in the world channel. He turned to his wife and said, ¡°Dear, we have to be prepared. If there¡¯s really a crisis, we have to prepare in advance.¡± ¡°Of course!¡± The wife raised her head and said proudly, ¡°I¡¯ve already piled all our defensive items together. Now, you just need to build a shelter with them!¡± The cosmologist touched his wife¡¯s hair and said, ¡°Fortunately, you are with me. That¡¯s why I have the courage to live.¡± The wife didn¡¯t say anything but held the cosmologist¡¯s hand and smiled gently. ¡°Is¡ Is this a black hole explosion?¡± The cosmologist hugged his wife and looked at the light dots in the distance that instantly exploded. He said to his wife with a trembling voice. His wife was so frightened that she could not speak. She only leaned tightly in the arms of the cosmologist. The two of them did not build a decent shelter. They just casually took some wooden and paper boxes and piled them into a triangular tree house-like shelter. The two of them hid inside and watched the light outside get closer and closer to them through the gap in the boards above their heads. The cosmologist tried his best to connect his consciousness to the asteroid and rush in the opposite direction. But he was indeed old, and he did not have as much energy as young people. Before long, they were caught up by the light. The old man was exhausted to the point of fainting. Just as he was about to faint, the cosmologist saw a light envelop him. His wife left his arms and turned around to cover him, and kissed him. ¡°Old man, you¡¯ve been protecting me my entire life. It¡¯s time for me to protect you. Live on! Help humans out of their predicament.¡± The cosmologist wanted to move, to protect his wife firmly under his body, but he could no longer move. He could only watch as the light drowned his wife, and he fainted. The cosmologist, who woke up again, saw that there was no trace on the ground, not even ashes. The cosmologist broke down. He hugged the clothes his wife had changed into and cried bitterly. He regretted not taking good care of his wife. He regretted not protecting her. The cosmologist was in despair, but he could only cry bitterly. ¡¡¡. ¡°Daughter, I¡¯ve already taught you how to control this asteroid, right? Use your thoughts to advance, retreat, and turn left and right. I taught you before.¡± A man was seriously instructing the little girl beside him on how to control the asteroid. ¡°Daddy, will a disaster really come?¡± The little girl asked her father in a baby voice. She was only about seven or eight years old. The father patted his daughter¡¯s braided head and said, ¡°Not necessarily. If a disaster really happens, you¡¯ll have to run away with me.¡± His daughter smiled and said, ¡°I¡¯ll definitely protect Daddy. We still have to find Mommy.¡± The man thought of his gentle wife, and a warm light shone in his eyes. ¡°Yes, we still have to find Mommy. She must still be waiting for us there.¡± Suddenly, an explosion sounded in the distance. The man looked at the sky and saw a point suddenly explode. A white light spread out. The man said, ¡°Do you know what to do?¡± The daughter said, ¡°I know.¡± Then, she connected her consciousness to the asteroid and escaped crazily. Before long, the light had spread to the back half of the meteor. The man looked at the light that was approaching crazily, then looked at his daughter. He hugged her tightly and said to her, ¡°Daughter, Daddy loves you. Remember to find Mommy.¡± Then the man was swallowed by the light. The daughter was pressed under her father. She cried, ¡°Daddy, Daddy¡¡± But her father could no longer answer her. Instead, he smiled and was swallowed by the light. In this world, there was no more trace of her father left. ¡¡ She and her boyfriend had lived together on the asteroid for god knows how many days since the Earth exploded. They had happened to be sleeping together then, and when they woke up, they realized that they had arrived on a rock together and had even activated space survival. Never in her wildest dreams did she expect that they would be together for a long time not just because of the pandemic but also because of the destruction of Earth. ¡°Let¡¯s eat.¡± The girl picked up a slice of bread, tore off half of it, and gave it to the boy. The boy frowned and said, ¡°I don¡¯t have much of an appetite. Eat them all.¡± The girl ignored him. Instead, she grabbed the boy¡¯s hand and stuffed the bread into his mouth. ¡°How can you have strength if you don¡¯t eat? We still have to build a shelter. Didn¡¯t you hear what the world channel said? A disaster is imminent.¡± ¡°So what if a disaster happens? Can the situation be worse than now? We don¡¯t have food, water, or clothes to change into. We don¡¯t know how we can survive. If a disaster can allow us to die together, that would be even better.¡± The boy said in a fit of anger. ¡°Don¡¯t say that. We will definitely survive.¡± The girl looked at the boy¡¯s trembling hand and held it. She said, ¡°We have hope. Maybe one day, we will realize that this is just a dream. Maybe everything will be okay. As long as we are together, nothing can¡¯t be past.¡± The explosion outside shocked the two of them. They looked out through the gap in the small shelter and saw a white light spreading rapidly towards them. The boy hurriedly connected the asteroid with his consciousness and ran in the opposite direction. Then he realized that because he had not eaten for a long time, his energy could not make the asteroid move fast at all. The boy was extremely upset. He had just been joking. He did not want the girl to die with him at all. So he stopped and said to the girl, ¡°Can I hug you?¡± Then, the boy hugged the girl tightly. White light came. The boy stood up and used his body to block the girl. ¡°No!!!¡± The girl let out a very sad scream. The boy smiled and said to her, ¡°I love you. Live well and forget me..¡± Chapter 26 Zhang Bei opened the world channel. Many people who had spoken previously had yet to come online. He thought to himself, ¡°It¡¯s probably very difficult to survive this disaster.¡± Some had witnessed the death of their father, some had witnessed the death of their wife, and even the wife of the cosmologist was not spared. Zhang Bei was very sad, but he could only say his condolences on the world channel. The living were still working hard to continue living, and the dead would always be in the hearts of the living. Zhang Bei¡¯s heart was filled with pain. He turned to the sky and shouted, ¡°Why are you treating us humans like this? Why? Why are you making us experience all this?¡± After shouting, he felt a little better, so he returned to the tent and lay back on the bed. ¡°The shelter that was built with much difficulty has collapsed.¡± ¡°The stones I placed outside were all devoured by the light.¡± ¡°All the resources I saved up are gone.¡± ¡°I saved up a box of bread and could only bear to eat one-fourth a day. After the light shone on it, there was nothing left.¡± ¡°I finally found a box of water. I could not even bear to drink it. I only took a small sip when I was very thirsty. In the end, it was all ruined. I feel like I don¡¯t even have any hope of living now.¡± ¡°Stop talking. I finally built this small hut. I thought I could sleep peacefully in the future, but now, there is not even a piece of wood left.¡± Everyone was complaining sadly. The cosmologist also stepped forward and said, ¡°I¡¯ll tell you if I observe anything in the future. The most important thing now is to rebuild your own shelter and continue searching for resources. At least, I think there should be no more disasters in the near future.¡± Everyone thanked the cosmologist for informing them in advance. Because of the information, many people had run very far away and were not affected. There were also some who built very stable shelters for themselves because of his reminder, barely surviving. The cosmologist then said, ¡°My wife said before she died that she hoped I could live well. I also hope that all the humans who survived can live well together.¡± Zhang Bei felt his eyes tear up. His tears flowed down his face and onto the pillow. He turned off the world channel and wiped the tears from his eyes. He buried his head in the pillow. Yes, the living needed to live for the dead as well. He forced himself to fall asleep. Tomorrow would be a new beginning! After the cosmologist spoke on the world channel, he spread the cardboard box his wife had sorted out earlier on the ground. He folded his wife¡¯s clothes neatly together and placed them on his chest. He hugged the clothes as if his wife was still with him. He smiled at the smell and said, ¡°Good night, old partner.¡± A girl was curled up in a paper box, holding a small bear that her father had sewn for her using tattered cloth. She cried sadly, her tears seemed to be soaking the little bear. ¡°Daddy, Daddy, where is Mommy? Daddy, when are you coming back? Daddy, don¡¯t leave me!¡± The girl said while crying, and her sad voice seemed to spread throughout the entire space. The woman dragged pieces of wood and placed them together. Then, she used her hand to press all the screws in, as she did not have any tools. Soon, the woman¡¯s delicate hand was scratched by the iron nails. She cried pitifully. Previously, it was her boyfriend who did all these, but now, her boyfriend had died in the light in order to protect her. She squatted down and buried her head in her knees. ¡°Son of a b*tch, you said you were going to marry me. Now you¡¯re leaving me. We said we were going to get married. How can you be like this? How can you¡¡± The girl sobbed. Zhang Bei woke up and looked outside. The sun had risen. The sadness from last night had been slightly washed away by the warm sunlight. This time, there were no broken limbs because people had directly turned into ashes. He first calculated the losses he had suffered. Thanks to the mech, Zhang Bei¡¯s losses were not too great. There were only some holes of various sizes on the edges of the tent. However, the thorny brambles had basically been wiped out. There were only a few left. However, as long as he could breathe, he could continue to grow more of them with the growth agent. He turned to look at a small encirclement of thorny brambles that he had put in a corner. This small encirclement protected all his important things. Zhang Bei cut off the brambles and placed them aside. He took out the items and put them in the tent¡¯s storage area. He looked at the dilapidated thorny brambles and thought that if he only used these brambles, he might not be able to resist too many foreign attacks. He thought for a moment and thought that since a material like a mecha could actually be used to block such light and foreign attacks, then if he could obtain a large amount of the materials used to build the mecha, could he also build a few protective walls? But what was this material? Zhang Bei touched the mecha and felt that it was like ordinary iron, but much softer. ¡°Also, I have to repair the mecha quickly. The copper wires from before are all broken. It probably can¡¯t hold the mecha¡¯s energy.¡± Zhang Bei scratched his head. ¡°If only I had the blueprint.¡± Helpless, he could only pack up the mecha and repair it after he had the blueprint. After cleaning up the mess, he realized that he had nothing to do now, so he drove his small asteroid around. ¡°If I can find some asteroids that don¡¯t have humans, I can also search for the resources and equipment on them,¡± Zhang Bei thought excitedly. ¡°It would be even better if I could find the blueprint.¡± After walking around for a while, he finally saw an asteroid with a small shelter on it. Zhang Bei walked over excitedly. If there were people around, the two of them could chat for a while. But if there were no one around, Zhang Wei could only bring the supplies away gratefully and regretfully. He connected the asteroids and jumped onto it. He walked toward the small shelter, hoping that someone would still be alive. ¡°Is anyone here? Is anyone here?¡± Zhang Bei shouted while walking, then carefully observed his surroundings.. Chapter 27 Zhang Bei shouted a few times, but no one responded. He sighed and walked towards the shelter. Although it was called a shelter, it was actually a small space built with a few cardboard boxes and wooden boards. Dust flew up as Zhang Bei moved the paper box on the surface. It almost choked him to death. He coughed as he moved the paper box and finally found this person¡¯s supplies in the middle box. He searched through the items but did not find anything useful. Apart from some food, there was also some toilet paper and toothpaste. Zhang Bei lifted the box and a piece of paper floated to the ground. ¡°This¡ This is¡¡± Zhang Bei¡¯s hand trembled as he picked up the piece of paper. Looking at the image drawn on the paper that was exactly the same as the mech, he was so excited that his eyes were brimming with tears. Then, he carefully rolled up the blueprint and placed it on the top of the box. He moved the box back to his asteroid and bowed deeply towards this asteroid. ¡°Thank you.¡± Zhang Bei stood up, disconnected the asteroids, and left. After flying for a while, the detector still didn¡¯t light up, and Zhang Bei was in low spirits, so he simply stopped. The little yellow chick happened to wake up and pecked Zhang Bei¡¯s hand as if saying, ¡°I¡¯m hungry ~¡± ¡°I feel a little hungry too. Let¡¯s eat first.¡± Zhang Bei had originally wanted to take a look at the blueprint, but his stomach started rumbling. He went to the storeroom and took out two packets of instant noodles, two ham sausages, a cucumber and a tomato. After some thought, he took out a loaf of bread. Walking out of the storeroom, Zhang Bei sat on the bed. He first broke off half of the bread for the little yellow chicken and stuffed the other half into his mouth. Then, he poured mineral water into the kettle and waited for the water to boil. While waiting for the water to boil, Zhang Bei opened the blueprint. He looked at the various drawings on it and immediately felt a headache. ¡°If I had known earlier, I would have definitely studied hard on Earth.¡± Zhang Bei scratched his head, his eyes filled with anxiety. However, when he thought that he could start moving in space after repairing the mecha, he immediately calmed down. He looked at the blueprint seriously, thinking about repairing the mecha. He looked at it carefully until he heard the water boil. He stopped looking at the blueprint and threw the instant noodles into the water bottle. After a while, Zhang Bei picked up the kettle and slowly ate the noodles without a word. He casually gave some to the little yellow chicken. After eating, he complained silently. When he looked at the blueprint, he realized that there were many exquisite parts inside. He could not make them at all now. Furthermore, some of the items needed were not only incomplete, but also things he had never heard of. Zhang Bei felt very hopeless. He had never heard of the parts, so how could he find them? Origin Stones, Super Starlight Materials, meteorites, and some pure blue and red essence. What were these things? He didn¡¯t give up and searched for these things in the Exchange Platform. Of course, as expected, he didn¡¯t find these things. ¡®Could it be that someone has these things but hasn¡¯t taken them out to make a deal? But I don¡¯t dare to ask about them directly. After all, in such a sensitive time, if someone discovers the value of these things, they¡¯ll definitely ask for exorbitant prices.¡¯ Furthermore, there were also some materials from Earth on the blueprint, such as nano ropes and polyethylene. These materials were easy to find because they had once been on Earth. Zhang Bei searched for the nano ropes and found a bundle of nano ropes listed on the Exchange Platform. The seller was asking for a half month¡¯s worth of food for it. ¡°It¡¯s expensive.¡± Zhang Bei frowned. After all, food was still the most precious thing in space. Using half a month¡¯s worth of food to exchange for this nano rope was still quite a loss. But Zhang Bei thought, ¡°Maybe it can be bargained?¡± So he sent a transaction message: Hello, are you online? After about five minutes, the other party replied. ¡°Yes, do you want to buy this nano rope?¡± Zhang Bei didn¡¯t answer directly. He only said, ¡°What is your final price?¡± The other party: ¡°If you really want it, you need to give at least ten days¡¯ worth of food.¡± Zhang Bei thought for a moment. After all, he did not have much food now. ¡°A week¡¯s worth of food, deal? The other party refused. ¡°One week¡¯s food is not enough. That is too little. When I got this thing, it happened to be during the meteor rain. I was almost killed that time. This thing really cost me my life. One week¡¯s food is really too little. You need to add a little more.¡± Zhang Bei thought for a moment. ¡°How about this? A week¡¯s worth of food, and a piece of flint. What do you think?¡± ¡°Sure, deal.¡± Then, Zhang Bei packed the things and placed them aside. He confirmed the transaction. Soon, the other party confirmed the exchange. The nano rope appeared beside Zhang Bei. Zhang Bei felt that the nano rope was similar to an ordinary rope, but no matter how hard he cut it, sawed it, or burned it, he couldn¡¯t break it. It was extremely firm. Then, he searched for other items written in the blueprint. There was nothing else in the Exchange Platform, so he closed it and looked at the world channel to see what they were talking about. Was there any clue about the things he was looking for? Ever since the disaster passed, the cosmologist had been sending today¡¯s news on the world channel. ¡°I watched the blackspot activities in the sun today. It¡¯s not as frequent, and there¡¯s no problem with the movement and orbital velocity of various planets. Today is a safe day. I hope everyone is well.¡± Some people replied one after another to express their gratitude. Then, someone began to chat. ¡°Recently, I seem to feel that there¡¯s more food, but I still can¡¯t find tools. For example, I picked up two roasted chickens some time ago, but I could only eat them cold. I had a stomach ache in the middle of the night.¡± ¡°Yes, I still haven¡¯t found a fire source. Once it¡¯s dark, I can only lie down and sleep. Who can keep on sleeping for 24 hours? There is no night life either. It¡¯s so boring.¡± ¡°Don¡¯t mention it. I picked up a lighter a few days ago, but it exploded after I pressed it a few times. Now, there¡¯s a huge cut on my hand that¡¯s bleeding.¡± ¡°Hahahahaha, brother, that¡¯s so tragic. I picked up a steamed bun a few days ago and it fell to the ground. I took off the soil-covered skin and stuffed it into my mouth. Although it¡¯s very hard, it was carbohydrates.¡± ¡°Stop talking. I picked up a piece of bread a while ago. It was as hard as a biscuit. Then I soaked it in mineral water and drank a few mouthfuls a day. I have to make do with it to not starve to death..¡± Chapter 28 Zhang Bei couldn¡¯t help but laugh when he read their complaints. It was not that he was mocking them. These people were too interesting. Although they were in a bad environment, they could still maintain an optimistic mood, roasting each other and encouraging each other. Zhang Bei happily watched them complain for a long time before turning off the world channel. Not long after he lay on the bed, the detector buzzed and emitted a blue light. Seeing the blue light, Zhang Bei thought that something good had come again. However, after Zhang Bei connected with the detector, he complained, ¡°Can you not suddenly light up when I¡¯m about to sleep?¡± The detector only said, ¡°500 kilometers south,???¡± It was still three question marks. Zhang Bei thought, ¡®If I can get the blueprint of the detector one day, I will know how to upgrade the detector.¡¯ ¡°After upgrading it, it should be able to show the details of blue or even higher level colors.¡± Zhang Bei thought happily and then exited the detector. After exiting the detector, he started moving to the location indicated by the detector. After all, it was still 500 kilometers away. He was in no hurry. He slowly rode the asteroid. Along the way, he saw some white and green specks of light. He stored all of them. ¡°Ham sausage! Just when I finished the previous batch.¡± ¡°Oh! Snickers! Good stuff!¡± ¡°What is this? Wowww mooncakes.¡± Zhang Bei fell into deep thought as he looked at the mooncakes. If the earth had not exploded yet, then based on the time, it should be the Mid-Autumn Festival now. His eyes reddened as he thought about when he reunited with his parents at home during the Mid-Autumn Festival last year. His mother had made his favorite roasted duck and stewed beef. How could he not miss his parents? Although he had been working hard for survival since he came to space, he still cried every time he thought of his parents in the middle of the night. Zhang Bei wiped his tears. ¡°I will definitely find my parents.¡± So he silently wished his parents well and continued to control the asteroid to the location indicated by the detector. While controlling the asteroid, he looked through the things he had just picked up. Apart from some food, there were also some small tools, such as an ear pick and a nail clipper. Without the detector, these small things could not be found at all. After looking through the items, he put all these things into the tent. He then picked his ears with the ear pick and started humming. After a while, he saw a blue light in the distance. Zhang Bei sped the asteroid, then heard the familiar ¡®pop¡¯ sound. Something fell from the sky. He picked up the tube that was made of unknown materials and opened it to see what was inside. After opening the tube, there were two pieces of paper, one larger and the other smaller. Zhang Bei opened the small piece of paper and was instantly stunned. Then, he danced with joy. It turned out that this half of the paper was the other half of the mecha¡¯s blueprint. Zhang Bei took out his blueprint and put it together with this half. Once the two blueprints were close, it was a complete mecha blueprint. ¡°There¡¯s still another paper.¡± Zhang Bei opened the other blueprint. There were no signs of damage on the other blueprint, so it was a complete blueprint. Zhang Bei looked at it carefully and felt that the thing on it looked familiar. Then, he suddenly remembered his omnipotent charger, the energy device. ¡°F*ck, isn¡¯t this that thing? Does that thing have a blueprint?¡± Zhang Bei looked at the blueprint carefully and found that it was written as the energy source for all items. Just earlier, he saw that the mecha¡¯s blueprint showed that there was a space in the mecha that could store energy-type items. Did that mean that the energy device could also be used as an energy source? ¡°That is a matter for later. First, I have to find the materials to repair the mecha.¡± Then, he looked at the materials listed on the blueprint of the energy device and realized that they were the same as the materials listed on the mecha¡¯s blueprint; they were all materials he had never heard of before. Zhang Bei sighed and accepted his fate and put away the blueprints. ¡°I¡¯ll find them sooner or later. I¡¯ll browse the Exchange Platform every day to take a look.¡± After getting the blueprints, Zhang Bei was not too happy because he realized that there were many materials inside that he had never heard or seen. How could he find these things and restore the mecha? Moreover, even if he found the materials, how could he use them to repair the mecha? Frowning, Zhang Bei thought for a long time. ¡°Forget it. No matter what, it will get better. There will be a way. First, I have to find all the materials.¡± He put away the blueprints and looked at the sky. In the blink of an eye, it was twilight. The sun was about to dim. Although the cosmologist said that there would be no disaster in the near future, he still had to be careful. Zhang Bei slowly dug out the seeds from the thorny brambles and planted them around the tent, then used the growth agent to enhance their growth. The thorns grew very quickly and covered the sky in an instant, tightly covering Zhang Bei¡¯s tent. He thought of the defensive ability of the previous mecha and could not help but be tempted. ¡°If I can get a large amount of materials of the mecha, then I can build a defensive wall with them. That would be very, very safe.¡± He patted his head and smiled bitterly. ¡°I really dare to dream. How can such things be mass-produced?¡± But what Zhang Bei did not know was that such materials were actually commonplace in a civilization, like the iron on Earth. Then, he went into the tent to have dinner and sleep. Just as Zhang Bei was about to make instant noodles, the little yellow chicken suddenly rushed in and chirped at him. ¡°What¡¯s wrong? Are you hungry? Wait a little bit.¡± Zhang Bei rubbed its little head. The little yellow chick shook its head and flew up. Then, it bit Zhang Bei¡¯s sleeve and tried its best to drag him out of the door. ¡°Are you asking me to go out with you?¡± He walked out in the direction of the little yellow chick. The little yellow chick flew higher and higher. Zhang Bei kept looking up. Suddenly, he seemed to see a green dot. ¡°That¡¯s not supplies¡ It looks like¡¡± Zhang Bei frowned.¡± No way¡ That¡¯s a planet? ¡± The little yellow chick chirped excitedly. [160] Zhang Bei¡¯s eyebrows twitched.. ¡°Is that¡ your house?¡± Chapter 29 Zhang Bei looked at the green light ball that was not too far away from him and looked at the excited little yellow chick. He sighed and controlled the asteroid to fly towards the green planet. Although the planet didn¡¯t look big from afar, when Zhang Bei was closer to the planet 20 minutes later, he found that it was quite big. The little yellow chick was getting more and more excited. It kept chirping around Zhang Bei. Zhang Bei poked its head with his finger and said, ¡°What¡¯s the hurry? We¡¯ll be there soon.¡± However, a feeling of sadness involuntarily rose in his heart. After all, the little yellow chick had been with him for so long. Now that they had reached its house, it would definitely go back. After about ten minutes, Zhang Bei arrived outside the planet¡¯s protective shield. He stroked the little yellow chick¡¯s head and said, ¡°Go home.¡± Then, he carefully observed this planet. The protective shield of this planet was relatively close to the ground, so he could clearly see all kinds of animals on the ground. However, Zhang Bei scratched his head and said with confusion, ¡°That¡¯s not right.¡± He had been observing for a long time and found that these animals were social. To be clear, they had a social relationship like humans. For example, one of the two monkeys was milking the milk while the other carried a bucket to a tree in the distance. Zhang Bei looked at the tree carefully. That tree was really big. It was like it was about to break through the protective barrier. It was about 30 meters wide and 100 meters tall. There were very few such large trees on Earth. He continued to observe. He saw the monkey carrying a bucket of milk to a huge hole under the tree. Then, he realized that the tree was filled with holes. He looked at them curiously and thought, ¡°Did these animals develop intelligence? They know how to build houses and have sociality. Is it humans controlling them?¡± The little yellow chick chirped and watched Zhang Bei who was just observing without moving for a long time, so it became anxious. Zhang Bei stroked the little yellow chick¡¯s head and said, ¡°Don¡¯t be anxious. Let me observe a bit more.¡± Then, he controlled the asteroid to move closer and prepare to observe more carefully. Whoosh. Whoosh. The sound of wind rang in his ears. Zhang Bei suddenly felt something brush past his asteroid. Then, he focused and saw that it was a few large eagles with wingspan of nearly 5 meters. Zhang Bei was shocked. Wasn¡¯t I outside the protective barrier? What? Then he looked at himself. He didn¡¯t know when he had inadvertently arrived inside the protective barrier of this planet. Seeing the eagle flying towards him at high speed, he was extremely afraid. He quickly controlled the asteroid to fly out of the protective barrier of this planet and into space. Taking a deep breath, Zhang Bei thought that it was safe. Then he continued to look down. He saw the huge eagles circling in the sky for a long time, calling a few times before returning to the ground. After a while, he realized that the eagle would not come back. So, he connected his protective shield to the protective shield of that planet, picked up the little yellow chick, and told it to go home. He did not dare to enter this place with such huge eagles. What if the sheep and cows were also like this? Some small animals could even kill him. He thought of that invading snake and chicken and his hair stood on end. Then, he looked at the little yellow chick and said, ¡°Go on, go on. I¡¯ve raised you for so long. It¡¯s time for you to go home alone.¡± The little yellow chick chirped for a long time and rubbed its head against Zhang Bei¡¯s palm. Then, it turned around and flew up, breaking through the two protective barriers and returning to that planet. Not good, Zhang Bei cursed silently. He saw that when the little yellow chick broke through the protective barrier, a few large eagles flew up from the ground and flew towards the little yellow chick like arrows. The little yellow chicken also realized the danger and flew back in Zhang Bei¡¯s direction. He cursed under his breath and quickly pushed the asteroid into the protective barrier of the planet. When it flew into the protective barrier, the little yellow chick charged into Zhang Bei¡¯s protective barrier and plunged into his arms. He carried the trembling little yellow chick and quickly controlled the asteroid to fly outside the protective barrier of this planet. However, how could it be faster than the eagles? The eagles caught up and used their huge bodies to ram at them. The asteroid seemed to be about to crack. Zhang Bei fell into the brambles behind him, and the thorns pierced into his back. Ughh, Zhang Bei grunted and held back the pain as he hugged the little yellow chick tighter. Let¡¯s go, let¡¯s go. Zhang Bei connected his consciousness to the asteroid and quickly flew out of this dangerous place. He flew further and further away. Then, he looked at the green light ball from afar and slid to the ground with a sigh of relief. He touched his back and found that it was wet. He looked at his hand and saw that it was covered in blood. Zhang Bei put down the little yellow chick and returned to the tent. He first pulled out the broken thorns from the flesh and washed his wounds with water. At last, he wrapped his wounds with the remaining snake skin. Zhang Bei looked at his tightly wrapped body and laughed. He felt like he was wearing a huge python. After laughing at himself for a long time, he walked to the storeroom and took out today¡¯s lunch: Instant Noodles, ham sausage, and bread. The little yellow chicken walked into the tent while chirping. As usual, he gave it half of the bread and boiled mineral water in the kettle. While waiting for the water to boil, he looked at the little yellow chick which was still dazed. He stroked its little head and said to it, ¡°Your house is too dangerous. If you go back, you probably won¡¯t even live for a few minutes. Then, are you still planning to go back now?¡± The little yellow chick seemed to understand Zhang Bei¡¯s words. It tilted its little head and pecked at the bread like it was pecking rice. The water in the kettle was boiling. He quickly opened the packet of instant noodles and threw the seasonings and noodles into the kettle. As the hot water heated the noodles, the fragrance of instant noodles came out. The little yellow chick stopped pecking at the bread and looked at Zhang Bei, chirping. Zhang Bei scolded jokingly, ¡°You¡¯re just here for instant noodles, aren¡¯t you, little chick?¡± Then, he picked up the kettle and started eating with the little yellow chick.. Chapter 30 This day, the cosmologist was lucky and found a box of mineral water. He carried it to his shelter. Back in the shelter, the cosmologist looked at the neatly folded clothes on the bed and smiled. ¡®Dear, if only you were still here. Look, I got an entire box of mineral water today. If you are still here, we can drink our fill. You can also wash your face.¡¯ The cosmologist sat there holding a stack of clothes and muttered to himself. ¡®You used to love cleanliness. Ever since you came to space, you didn¡¯t have water to wash your face. We didn¡¯t have enough to eat or drink. Now that we have water, you are no longer around.¡¯ The cosmologist¡¯s tears dripped on his clothes. He realized that his tears were falling on the clothes, and the clothes would become dirty, so he wiped the tears off the clothes with his sleeve. ¡®Alright, alright, I got to leave. The work today has not been completed.¡¯ The cosmologist put down the clothes in his hand and walked out of the shelter. He picked up the telescope and began to observe the star system state. ¡¡¡ ¡°You already have so many knives, so what¡¯s wrong with selling me one?¡± A young girl was trying her best to trade for a knife in the exchange. The other party: ¡°No, no, no. Two pieces of chocolate for a knife? Do you really think I¡¯m doing charity work?¡± ¡°How much do you want?¡± The little girl helplessly typed. At least ten pieces of chocolate. The other party was asking for too much. The little girl closed the exchange interface because ten pieces of chocolate were the only food she had left. She still had to use these ten pieces of chocolate for god knows how long. The little girl sighed and connected to the asteroid, flying deeper into space. Rrrrr. The little girl¡¯s stomach suddenly started growling in hunger. She covered her stomach and took out half a piece of dry bread from her pocket. She put the dry bread in her mouth and ground out a lot of crumbs. Then, she picked up the bottle of mineral water beside her and took a small sip, gulping it down. Then she reluctantly put the bread back in her pocket. The little girl lay on the ground and looked at the sky. She couldn¡¯t help but think of her father, and tears flowed down her eyes. Tears flowed into her ears. The little girl seemed to hear the sea. She recalled that it was the summer vacation on Earth when her father and mother brought her to the sea to play. At that time, her mother had prepared iced fruit juice and sandwiches for them, and her father had taken her swimming, playing ball, and riding on a water yacht. They had laughed happily and she had been acting cute with her mother. Just a few days ago, she went to the supermarket with her father to buy things while her mother cooked alone at home. Then, the disaster happened. Her father held her in his arms, so they were assigned to the same asteroid. No matter what supplies her father picked up, whether it was water or food, he would let her eat first. One night, she wanted to go to the toilet. She realized that her father was not sleeping beside her. Instead, he was facing away from her far away. She did not know what he was doing. She quietly walked over and saw a scene that made her feel an intense sorrow. Her father was digging the moss and soil from the cracks in the ground, and stuffing them into his mouth. Her tears flowed freely, but she could not bear to say anything. It turned out he gave all the supplies to his daughter, and left what she could not finish for the next time. In space, there was no guarantee that there would be food every day, so she had to be careful, careful, and slowly eat her food. During the meteor shower, because they were far away, they were not affected too much. However, there were still some tiny stones flying towards them. At that time, they had nothing. There were no boards, no cardboard boxes, and they were open targets. Her father used his broad chest and arms to protect the girl under his body. When the meteor shower was over, she saw her father stand up shakily and turn around. There were many holes in his clothes. She used her trembling hands to help her father remove the clothes. Like a sieve, the clothes were filled with small holes and blood was still flowing out. Her father only smiled and told her that he was fine. Until the last crisis, her father was still standing in front of her. The little girl lay on the ground and cried. She hugged her knees and tried her best to sleep. ¡¡.. The man carried a large pile of wooden boards and walked to his shelter. Then, he stabbed the wooden boards into the ground to use as walls. Then, he put some plants to fill the gaps. The man even piled some paper boxes in the corner. Then, he picked up some old clothes that he did not want and simply laid them down. He turned around and said, ¡°Sigh, what do you think about putting the bed here?¡± However, no one replied. The man bit his lip, and his eyes reddened. During the meteor shower, they had been the closest to the asteroid explosion belt. Large rocks flew towards them. They covered themselves with the wooden boards and tried their best to resist the huge rocks that came from outer space. But what was the use of that? The large pile of stones smashed into their bodies, penetrated the wooden boards, shattered the paper shells, and finally hit them. This man cried bitterly to his big brother. ¡°Brother, we will die, right? Will we die here? What about mother? What about father?¡± The big brother stared deeply at his younger brother¡¯s face and patted his shoulder. ¡°You have to survive. Go find our parents and take care of them.¡± When the largest meteor arrived, he hugged his little brother and pressed him to the ground. The younger brother pushed his big brother¡¯s shoulder and said, ¡°Brother, don¡¯t be like this, don¡¯t be like this. We have to live together.¡± The older brother smiled at the younger brother and said that he was the older brother. The older brother should protect the younger brother. The younger brother must remember to look for theira€| Before he could finish, his brother was smashed to the ground by a huge rock. The younger brother cried in grief and watched helplessly as his brother died with a smile on his face. The younger brother had lived until now and had been working hard every day to build a shelter and gather resources. However, every time he collected resources, he would always smile at the sky and say, ¡°Brother, I found water today. Brother, I found bread today.¡± Look, what was more eternal than death was love.. Chapter 31 Dawn. The little yellow chick still chirped and jumped on Zhang Bei¡¯s head, waking him up. Zhang Bei scratched his head that was now like a chicken¡¯s nest and sighed. He said to the little yellow chick, ¡°If you wake me up so early again, I¡¯ll cook you into chicken mushroom stew.¡± The little yellow chick wasn¡¯t afraid. It grabbed Zhang Bei¡¯s head once more, then slowly flew out. The angry Zhang Bei scratched his head and thought, ¡®Am I spoiling it too much?¡¯ Last night, before he went to sleep, he went to the greenhouse and saw many cucumbers and tomatoes with bite marks on them. Zhang Bei immediately thought that it must have been the little yellow chick, so he carried the little yellow chick¡¯s head to the greenhouse and told the little yellow chick that it was only allowed to eat one per day and not take a bite of every single one. The little yellow chick was angry. It thought that Zhang Bei did not want it to eat the vegetables inside. It pecked the back of Zhang Bei¡¯s hand hard, and soon, a bead of blood appeared on the back of his hand. Zhang Bei was also angry, so he didn¡¯t give the little yellow chick any instant noodles. Seeing Zhang Bei¡¯s empty kettle, the little yellow chick had felt extremely wronged. Zhang Bei was about to get up and wash up before continuing to study the mecha blueprint when the detector suddenly emitted a green light. Eh, it had been a long time since there was a green light. What was it this time? Materials? Zhang Bei thought to himself that it would be good if it could be used to repair the mecha. Then, he shook his head. Stop dreaming. The materials for mecha repair have to be blue, right? Zhang Bei immersed his consciousness into the detector. [Long time no see, Master. How have you been?] It was still the familiar voice. [700 meters to the northeast. Salt, sugar, and black pepper.] Zhang Bei scratched his ears in doubt. The detector saw his action and repeated. [700 meters to the northeast. Salt, sugar, and black pepper.] He thought of the chicken wings, chicken drumsticks, and a series of frozen products in his fridge and was extremely excited. He quickly exited the detector and connected to the asteroid. He immediately charged towards the northeast. After a few minutes, he arrived at the location indicated by the detector. A box fell in front of him. Zhang Bei quickly opened the box and was extremely excited when he saw the large jars of salt, sugar, and black pepper. He quickly put them in the tent and took out a bag of chicken wings and a bag of fries from the fridge, placing them under the sun to wait for them to thaw. While waiting for them to thaw, he opened the world channel to see how everyone was doing. As soon as he opened the world channel, he saw that the cosmologist was still talking in the group chat. He had observed the activity in the star system today and found no abnormalities. It was a safe day again. He hoped that everyone was safe. The people below were all thanking him for his work everyday. Thank you. It¡¯s been hard on you again today. Do you still have water? I¡¯ll give you a bottle. After all, it hasn¡¯t been easy for you. The cosmologist: ¡°Don¡¯t worry, don¡¯t worry. I still have food and drinks. Don¡¯t worry, as long as I live, I will provide everyone with hope.¡± ¡°Sigh. I¡¯ve been eating a piece of dry bread for three days. Who knows when I¡¯ll starve to death.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t have water, and I am really close to the sun. The amount of sweat I sweat every day is much more than the amount of water I drink. I¡¯m really afraid that I¡¯ll be dried up by the sun one day.¡± ¡°I¡¯m really cold. I¡¯m still wearing a short-sleeved shirt. I¡¯m really shivering from the cold every day. Fortunately, I can lick the ice to quench my thirst, but licking the ice in this cold weather is really painful.¡± Many people were complaining on the world channel. Zhang Bei looked at the chicken wings and fries he was thawing outside. He wondered if he should use this thing to make a trade with them when it was ready. They had not eaten for so long, they definitely would want to eat something hot and fragrant. Zhang Bei turned off the world channel and chuckled. The fries and chicken wings thawed under the sun. Zhang Bei walked over. They had turned soft. He tore open the packaging and poured the chicken wings and fries into different pots. He then brought some dried thorny brambles over and took out the flame stick to light the brambles. After that, he used two iron rods to make a stand. Zhang Bei first placed the pot on the fire, then placed the chicken wings on the pot. When he placed the chicken skin on the pot, a sizzling sound was heard. Soon, he smelled the fragrance of chicken. Zhang Bei looked at the golden chicken skin and swallowed. Then he turned the chicken wings over and sprinkled salt and pepper on them. The moment the salt and pepper were sprinkled, the fragrance became stronger. Zhang Bei swallowed hard and looked at the chicken wings in the pot. When it was about time, he took a chicken wing and stuffed it into his mouth. He stuffed an entire chicken wing into his mouth and chewed hard. Tears flowed down his face as he chewed on the chicken wings. The chicken wings were not exactly delicious. In fact, they even had a little fishy smell. However, for people who worked hard to survive in space, this was already a very, very rare delicacy. One after another, Zhang Bei frantically stuffed chicken wings into his mouth. After eating about ten chicken wings, he burped and slowly swayed to the tent before lying on the bed. Ah, the best thing in the world was lying in bed after eating. Zhang Bei picked his teeth on the bed and opened the Exchange Platform. He had about ten chicken wings left and wanted to see if there was anything he wanted in the Exchange Platform. After browsing the Exchange Platform for a while, Zhang Bei did not find what he was looking for. Just as he was about to drop the matter, he saw a post about trading a bag of seeds. He sent a message to ask the seller what kind of seed it was. The other party: ¡°I don¡¯t know what kind of seed it is. But this seed is very hard and very big. It looks like a macadamia nut, so I¡¯m not sure what kind of seed it is.¡± Zhang Bei thought for a long time but could not think of anything like this. Therefore, he asked the other party, ¡°What is the price?¡± The other party quickly said that they could make the trade. ¡°I won¡¯t cheat you. Just two days of food will do.¡± Zhang Bei thought about it. ¡°Two days is too much. How about this, do you want two grilled chicken wings?¡± ¡°You have grilled chicken wings?¡± The other party was extremely puzzled, expressing extreme disbelief. ¡°It¡¯s up to you to believe it or not,¡± Zhang Bei replied. ¡°If you believe me, I will exchange two chicken wings for this bag of seeds. Anyway, you don¡¯t know how to grow them, so it¡¯s not a loss to you.¡± The other party thought for a moment and said, ¡°Sure, but I want three chicken wings.¡± Zhang Bei thought for a moment and agreed. Then, the two sides made the deal.. Chapter 32 In an instant, the items they exchanged were in each other¡¯s hands. The other party was stunned when he saw the chicken wings. His hands trembled as he picked up the chicken wings that were still steaming hot and smelled them deeply. He swallowed a few mouthfuls of saliva and placed the chicken wing by his mouth, biting off a bit of meat. The moment his teeth touched the chicken wings, he felt like he was in heaven. He bit down hard, breaking the meat with his teeth. His tongue also felt the faint fragrance of salt and black pepper. Instantly, it filled his entire mouth as if a nuclear bomb had exploded in his mouth. It had been too long since he had eaten meat. He held a chicken wing in his hand and tore it bit by bit with tears welling in his eyes. He slowly nibbled on the chicken wing. After all, it was only so big. Soon, he finished a chicken wing. He looked at the chicken bone and slowly ground it with his teeth. Finally, he lay on the ground with chicken bones in his mouth, smiling happily. Things that could be eaten daily on Earth had become a luxury in space. Zhang Bei got a bag of seeds. He opened it and saw that there were only ten seeds inside. However, just as the other party had said, they were as big as macadamia nuts and were very hard. No matter what, he would try to plant it first. Zhang Bei picked up a seed. He wanted to plant it in the flower pot in the greenhouse, but after thinking for a while, he thought that the thing planted by such a big seed should be very big. Therefore, he dug a small hole beside the greenhouse and put the seed in. He took out the diluted growth agent from before and gently poured a small lid on it. The seed moved slightly before a small bud appeared. Soon, it turned into a small sapling. ¡®It looks like it will grow into a tree,¡¯ Zhang Bei praised. He thought that if it was a tree, it could be used to block the sunlight. He could also hang some hammocks on it. It would be really perfect. Then, he poured another lid of diluted growth agent on it. The little seedling grew crazily until it was more than ten meters tall. Zhang Bei looked at the leaves and suddenly thought, ¡®Eh, this looks like a coconut tree.¡¯ Zhang Bei spent a long time looking at it. The leaf confirmed that this was the leaf of the coconut tree on Earth. Then, he looked at the small green fruit under the leaf and thought that it might not have received enough growth agent, so he poured another lid. Immediately, the small green fruits slowly grew into brown things. But how could he get the coconut? Zhang Bei looked at the ten-meter tall tree and couldn¡¯t help but feel troubled. He picked up the knife and cut two very big thorny brambles from the side. Then he tied them together with rags and bound a shovel on the top. After binding it tightly, Zhang Bei swung it a few times and found that it was firm. Then, he swung it forcefully at the coconut. He hacked five to six times in a row before finally shaking off a few coconuts. Zhang Bei quickly picked up a coconut and used the cleaver to cut it. Actually, there was a technique to open a coconut. If he found the weak spot, he could cut it open with two strikes. Seeing the fresh coconut water flowing down, Zhang Bei quickly leaned over and drank it happily. Ah, joy. He wiped his mouth and looked at the empty coconut. He thought for a moment and split it in two with the cleaver. As expected, when he saw the white flesh inside, Zhang Bei couldn¡¯t help but smile. Coconut meat was a treasure. It could be dried under the sun and used as an energy bar. After putting it in an iron pot, it could be refined into oil at a high temperature. This way, it could also be used to cook or maintain moist skin. Moreover, the coconut oil could be lit, and its burning point was very low. This way, if he needed to light a fire at night, the fire would not go out overnight. Zhang Bei was extremely happy. He quickly cut down the coconuts with all his might. After a while, there were more than ten coconuts piled under the tree. He first opened the coconuts one by one, then used the plastic bottles he had saved to store the coconut water in the fridge. After pouring out the coconut water, Zhang Bei used a spoon to scrape the coconut meat out and put it in the iron pot. He then heated the coconut meat slowly. About two hours later, the top and bottom layers appeared in the pot. There was a layer of oil on top, and some white solids underneath. Zhang Bei filtered the thin substance and placed the oil in a bottle. Because the coagulation and burning point of the coconut oil were very low, it turned into a jelly-like substance after a while. The white solids were not useless. On Earth, it was coconut meat powder that was used to bake. Zhang Bei placed a piece of snake skin on the ground and then placed the white solids under the sun to slowly dry it. After about four to five hours, the white solids became dry. He rubbed it and put it in his mouth to chew. His mouth was filled with the fragrance of coconut. He was extremely happy. He put the powder in a bottle and placed it in the tent. He prepared to sprinkle it on bread when he ate bread in the future to make it more fragrant. The coconut shells on the ground were not useless. Zhang Bei cleaned the remnant flesh and the coconut skin. He then used the kitchen knife to clean the white fibers on the outside and carefully polished the outer shell. Finally, beautiful coconut bowls appeared in Zhang Bei¡¯s hand. Zhang Bei picked up a smooth coconut bowl. He decided that he could use this coconut bowl for dinner. He also found a very small coconut, so he used this small coconut to make a miniature coconut bowl. In the future, this would be the yellow chicken¡¯s food bowl. He placed the coconut bowl in the little yellow chick¡¯s nest. The little yellow chick was still sleeping. Zhang Bei placed the small coconut bowl on its little head with evil intentions. After a while, the little yellow chick woke up and pecked at the small coconut bowl. Realizing that it couldn¡¯t be pecked, it flew up and pushed the coconut bowl to the ground. This action made Zhang Bei laugh crazily. Then, he broke off a small piece of bread and placed it in the little yellow chick¡¯s bowl. The little yellow chick immediately understood that this would be its food bowl from now on. It lowered its head and pecked at the bread. After planting this seed, there were still nine coconut seeds left. Zhang Bei followed the periphery of their shelter and planted these nine seeds, using three lids of diluted growth agent to accelerate their growth. After a while, dense coconut trees blocked the sky above the thorny brambles, but fine light shone through the leaves. Zhang Bei tied the remaining snake skin with the rope he had exchanged for earlier and built a hammock between two coconut trees.. Chapter 33 Zhang Bei lay on the hammock and smiled happily. The sun shone through the leaves and shone on his eyelids. It was warm, but not hot. He felt the warmth around him and slowly fell asleep. The anxious cries of the little yellow chick sounded in his ears. Opening his eyes, Zhang Bei realized that the sky had darkened. Specks of starlight shone through the leaves of the coconut trees. He quickly got up and looked at the little yellow chick, only to discover a huge creature in front of it. He picked up the kitchen knife beside him and carefully walked over. Then, he realized that there was a bull in front of the little yellow chick. The horns were nearly a meter long and its entire body was almost three to four meters. Its eyes were glowing red as it rubbed its hooves on the ground, preparing to charge towards the little yellow chick. The little yellow chick was extremely afraid and chirped shrilly. Then, it saw Zhang Bei and rushed into his arms. His face turned pale. It¡¯s over. This was his last thought when he saw the bull charging at him with red eyes. Zhang Bei carried the little yellow chick and turned around to run into his tent. Then, he closed the door of the tent. This bull was very strong, and it attacked the tent with violent attacks. Zhang Bei looked at the bull¡¯s horns piercing the tent, leaving holes in the wall. His face couldn¡¯t help but turn paler. If the bull¡¯s horns had hit him, he would probably be dead now. Zhang Bei was scared, but he couldn¡¯t just sit still, because if the bull destroyed this tent, he would have nowhere to go. He saw the coconut trees outside through the hole, and an idea occurred to him. He said to the little yellow chick, ¡°Go to the tree.¡± The little yellow chick tilted its head and flew out the window. The bull let out a cry and charged at the little yellow chick. The little yellow chick slowly flew to a coconut tree. The bull knocked its head against the coconut tree. The coconut tree was so hard that the bull¡¯s horns were stuck in the coconut tree. It could not be pulled off no matter how hard it tried. Furthermore, the coconuts fell because it had used too much strength, and they smashed into its head. The bull seemed to be stunned. It did not move and just stood there. Zhang Bei picked up the knife from behind and sneaked towards the bull. The bull seemed to have heard Zhang Bei¡¯s footsteps and suddenly shook the coconut tree hard, trying to pull the horns out of the coconut tree. Zhang Bei smiled sinisterly and said, ¡°Do you think you can pull it out again?¡± Then, he chopped the bull¡±s neck with the kitchen knife. It did not cut off the bull¡¯s neck. The bull pulled out the horns with all its might after feeling the pain. Zhang Bei was frightened and quickly ran back to the tent frantically. The bull did not let up and charged at him. Zhang Bei hid beside the tent door. The bull ran into the tent door. As the bull¡¯s body was too small, its head was stuck in the door, and its body could not enter the tent. Zhang Bei slashed ten times and chopped off the bull¡¯s head. He panted heavily as the little yellow chick flew back anxiously. He looked at the large bull on the ground and felt a sense of pride. The incapable him back on Earth, could now actually kill a bull with a kitchen knife. He was extremely proud of himself and roared with laughter. After the excitement, he dragged the bull outside. Looking at the dark sky outside, he thought for a moment and packed the head and body of the bull with paper boxes. He placed them outside and turned back to the tent to lie on the bed. After all, he had killed a bull just now. He was exhausted and fell asleep quickly. Beep. The detector glowed with a blue light, and Zhang Bei was awakened by the dazzling light. He sent his consciousness into the detector and heard it telling him that there was something good 100 kilometers north this time. Zhang Bei was too lazy to ask what it was because the level of the detector was too low to tell what it was. After exiting the detector, Zhang Bei thought for a moment and lay on the bed. He closed his eyes and continued to sleep. The world was huge, and sleeping was the most important. If he didn¡¯t rest well, what if he encountered danger on the way? Moreover, he was really exhausted. He fell asleep again. After about three hours, Zhang Bei woke up. He looked at the sky outside which was still black. He turned on the table lamp and connected to the asteroid, flying in the direction indicated by the detector. The journey was very quiet. It was as if Zhang Bei was in an empty space. He looked at the sleeping little yellow chick and smiled. Fortunately, in this lonely space, the little yellow chick was there to accompany him. After flying for about 50 minutes, he arrived at the location, but he did not find any blue light. Just as Zhang Bei was feeling puzzled, he saw a blue light ball flying towards him. The blue light sphere was extremely fast. In an instant, it was in front of Zhang Bei¡¯s protective barrier. It passed through the protective barrier and then passed through the coconut forest. It fell in front of Zhang Bei with a bang. Zhang Bei fixed his eyes on it. Wasn¡¯t it just a big stone? But in the middle of the crack was a sparkling blue light. Zhang Bei suddenly remembered that there seemed to be a stone drawn on the blueprint of the mecha. It was also shining with blue light. Origin Stone! He looked at the stone, then took out the blueprint from his tent and carefully observed it. After watching for about twenty minutes, Zhang Bei finally confirmed that this was an Origin Stone, one of the important materials needed to repair the mecha. He was very happy. He threw the blueprint into the tent, picked up the stone, and kissed it. This meant that he had finally found one of those rare materials. This meant that he would be able to find the other materials sooner or later. Slowly, he would be able to fulfill his wish of traveling in space after repairing his mecha. But since he had yet to find everything, Zhang Bei could only place this Origin Stone in the tent. As he had obtained a precious ingredient, he was so excited that he couldn¡¯t sleep. He then felt a little hungry, so he took out a piece of bread and separated it from the middle. He scattered some coconut powder in and placed two ham sausages, a slice of tomato and cucumber. He took a bite. Hmm, it tasted a little like the hamburger on Earth. He took one after another bite and quickly finished the homemade hamburger. After drinking half a bottle of water, he got up and walked around. Forget it, it was better to go back to sleep. He still had to deal with the bull¡¯s corpse when he woke up in the morning. Zhang Bei rubbed his head and returned to the tent to lie on the bed.. Chapter 34 After a long night, Zhang Bei was exhausted. He fell asleep as soon as he hit the bed. He slept until dawn. The sun shone on his face, and it was warm. The feathers of the little yellow chick tickled his face and he woke up immediately. He stretched and rinsed his mouth with salt water before drinking a few mouthfuls of it. He felt much more awake. He took out a slice of bread from the storeroom and put sausage and some coconut powder on it. Then, he placed it on the fire that he had lit last night and heated the bread. About five to six minutes later, he took out the steaming hot bread and finished it in a few mouthfuls. He was still a little hungry. He took another piece of bread from the storeroom, threw half to the little yellow chick, and devoured the other half. Zhang Bei patted his stomach that was full, and drank half a bottle of water. He picked up a piece of snake skin and wrapped it around his body. He was afraid that the bull¡¯s blood would splash on him. At this moment, there was no way he could wash his clothes. Zhang Bei held the largest bone cleaver and first cut off the legs, hooves, tails, and other parts of the bull. Then, it was the slightly smaller knife that slowly peeled off the bull¡¯s skin. Because the bull¡¯s skin was very hard to peel, Zhang Bei used a large pot to boil water and poured it on the bull. The entire bull skin was peeled off easily. Zhang Bei was delighted when he saw this piece of hide. This was a large hide with a 4 square meter size. This hide would be very useful. It could be used as a bed, to block the rain, to eat, and to sew shoes and clothes. He dealt with the fur on the hide and placed it on the thorny brambles to let it sundry. After dealing with the hide, it was time to deal with the meat. Zhang Bei cut open the entire bull from the middle and took out the ribs and some bones. He then took out the liver, the bull¡¯s heart, tail, and other internal organs, and put them in a large pot. The bull¡¯s tripe was taken out as well, this was a good thing. Wasn¡¯t it used in the hotpot restaurant? And the intestines and other internal organs were also placed aside. Zhang Bei divided the beef into different parts. He cut the beef brisket into pieces and wrapped them in snake skin before putting them in the fridge. As for the bull head, Zhang Bei dealt with its eyeballs first. Then, he used the military shovel to knock the horns off the head. Zhang Bei held the one-meter-long bull horns and looked at the sharpest part of it. He touched it with his hand and found that it was quite sharp. He placed them to the side. Then, he used a small knife to shave off the meat on the bull¡¯s head and put it in a small pot. Zhang Bei was very serious. He didn¡¯t want to waste any meat. He slowly shaved the head and spent nearly two hours removing all the meat on the bull¡¯s head. As for this large skull, Zhang Bei casually hung it on a hard bramble, waiting for the sun to dry it and use it as a small stool. The bones on the bull¡¯s legs were the hardest part of the entire bull. Zhang Bei removed the bones and tied the hard ribs on them. Coincidentally, the four legs and the ribs were intact. Zhang Bei tore off a piece of bullhide and used it to tie the ribs and four legs together, forming a small table. Zhang Bei looked at the bone table and felt very happy. Then, he placed the table under the sun, washed it with water, and dried it under the sun. He thought, ¡°Can¡¯t I use it tonight?¡± After dealing with these things, he saw that the sun was already at its hottest. He wrapped the hooves and tail casually and placed them in the corner of the tent. He planned to have a casual meal now and have a feast at night after dealing with the tail and hooves. He entered the storeroom. It was still the same three: instant noodles, sausage, and bread. He put the instant noodles in the hot water. The fragrance of instant noodles filled the entire tent. The little yellow chick came over noisily. Zhang Bei put some noodles in its small bowl while he ate from the hot kettle. After eating and drinking his fill, he lay on the hammock outside. Before taking a nap, he wanted to see if there was anything good in the Exchange Platform. Suddenly, Zhang Bei saw something that delighted him. Zhang Bei quickly sent the message. ¡°Hello, do you still have it?¡± The other party replied after 5-6 minutes. ¡°Yes.¡± ¡°What are you trading it for?¡± Zhang Bei asked. The other party hesitated. ¡°How much do you plan to give?¡± Zhang Bei thought for a while. ¡°Two days worth of food. Deal?¡± Ten minutes later, the other party sent an exchange request. Zhang Bei confirmed it and a bag appeared beside him. Zhang Bei opened it and took a deep breath. A satisfied smile appeared on his face. He took a closer look, they were chili peppers. He first took out a few chili peppers and planted them in the pots in the greenhouse. He poured some diluted growth agent on them, and soon the chili peppers grew, and many red peppers formed on the branches.. Chapter 35 Zhang Bei looked at the chili peppers and thought to himself, ¡°If there¡¯s garlic, that would be really good.¡± He had an idea. How about he looked for seeds in Exchange Platform today and planted them? Zhang Bei was a doer. He first planted the chili peppers, then burned the fur on the hooves and tail that were placed in the tent. He rubbed them until they were clean. Then, he placed them together with the previous meat. After doing this, Zhang Bei opened the Exchange Platform and began to search for some plant seeds. Firstly, he searched for garlic because he already had meat in his hand. If he wanted to eat meat, he had to have garlic, a seasoning that could remove the smell. Zhang Bei searched for a long time and finally found garlic. He quickly sent a message to ask the other party¡¯s price. ¡°Hello, are you online?¡± The other party replied within a few seconds. ¡°Yes, do you want to buy the garlic?¡± ¡°Yes, yes. What do you want for the head of garlic?¡± ¡°I want two days of food.¡± The other party thought for a while and replied. Zhang Bei frowned. ¡®Isn¡¯t it too greedy to try to trade a head of garlic for two days¡¯ worth of food?¡¯ The other party saw that Zhang Bei did not reply. He then messaged. ¡°I have an entire bag of garlic here. I will only exchange it for two days worth of food. Do you want to trade?¡± Zhang Bei thought that he was asking for two days worth of food for just one head of garlic, and had not expected it to be an entire bag. Then, he immediately confirmed the transaction, and a bag of garlic appeared on his side. He opened the bag and swallowed hard at the pungent smell of garlic. Then, he took out 5-6 cloves of garlic and planted them in the pots in the greenhouse. Then, he poured some diluted growth agent on them, and green garlic sprouts soon grew out. Zhang Bei took off a piece of garlic sprout and put it in his mouth, chewing hard. The delicate fragrance of the garlic sprout stimulated his taste buds and caused them to explode. He felt dizzy. How long had it been since he had eaten such a taste? His thoughts seemed to return to Earth. During the new year, his mother had served him plates of dumplings. He shook his head, and started watering the other plants before returning to the tent. He took out the bull tail and hooves that he had previously cleaned and put them in the fridge. Zhang Bei picked some garlic sprouts and tomatoes, then picked a few chilli peppers and put them aside. After the bull hooves and tail froze, Zhang Bei chopped them into pieces. He had started a fire long ago, and it was burning fiercely. He placed an iron pot on the flames. When the pot was hot, he put some coconut oil into the pot. When the oil was hot, he added some sugar. When the sugar turned brown, he put in the bull tail and the hooves. After stir-frying it a few times, he poured two bottles of mineral water in, then threw in the garlic, chili, and tomatoes, closed the lid, and let it boil. Hearing the sound of the boiling water, Zhang Bei adjusted the fire slightly and opened the lid to let out some steam. He lowered the heat to let it stew. About forty to fifty minutes later, Zhang Bei opened the lid of the pot. Thick liquid wrapped around the bull tail and the hooves. The tomatoes were cooked until they were mushy. Red liquid spread in the pot, and the entire pot was filled with the fragrance of tomatoes and beef. Zhang Bei swallowed hard and moved the pot from the fire to the table that had been prepared. He then took out a few pieces of bread from the storage room. The little yellow chick ran to its bowl and Zhang Bei broke off half a piece of bread and placed it in its bowl. Zhang Bei picked up a piece of the tail with his chopsticks. The skin on the tail was covered in colloidal matter, and it was jiggly. The jiggly skin emitted a fragrant smell and was covered in fat. He immediately stuffed the bull tail into his mouth. The heat made him huff and puff. After the burning sensation passed, the fragrance of meat and fat emerged. He was chewing hard, and the elasticity of the flesh and the smoothness of the fat burst open in his mouth. Zhang Bei chewed and chewed, trying his best to feel the fragrance of meat that he had not felt in a long time. One after another, Zhang Bei had a whale of a time eating the tail and hooves. Zhang Bei ate the entire tail and two hooves alone. He even dipped the bread in the remaining broth and stuffed them into his mouth. After eating, Zhang Bei lay on the bed and rubbed his stomach. He said, ¡°If only there was rice. I need to find some rice someday.¡± After eating and drinking, it was easy for people to feel sleepy. He lay on the hammock and looked at the sky. It was not completely dark yet. There was a cool breeze outside. The sun shone on his face through the leaves of the coconut trees. He closed his eyes and slowly fell asleep. Humans were like this. Even in the face of death, they would still try their best to enjoy their lives and bring more joy to themselves. When Zhang Bei opened his eyes again, night had fallen. The stars in the sky seemed to shine in his eyes through the leaves. He looked at the sky full of stars and pointed. If the disaster had not happened, that would have been the position of Earth. He sighed, but he still had to face the truth. He stood up from the hammock, patted his clothes, and walked into the tent. Now he sorted out his supplies every three days. He turned on the lamp and took out all the supplies in the tent. He roughly sorted out his food, some tools, important items, and so on. Zhang Bei looked at the food in front of him. There were three bags of beef jerky, two packs of sausage, three large bags of instant noodles, and a few boxes of mineral water. There was also some frozen meat in the fridge. There was really no need to worry about food for the time being. Then, he looked at the daily necessities. There was still a lot of toilet paper. Zhang Bei looked at the small iron box in his hand. It had two tubes with red and blue liquid. He suddenly remembered the results of the appraisal. Blue could change animals, and red could change humans. He had never dared to let the little yellow chick use it, afraid that its genes would mutate and it would become something else. He held the blue test tube and was hesitating when the little yellow chick suddenly ran over. It tilted its head and looked at the blue test tube in its hand, then pecked it hard. The glass test tube shattered on the ground, and the blue liquid was absorbed by the little yellow chick. The little yellow chick that was absorbing the blue liquid seemed to be drunk. It took two steps crookedly and fell to the ground. Zhang Bei couldn¡¯t care about anything else. He rushed over and hugged the little yellow chick.. Chapter 36 Zhang Bei shook the little yellow chick. He saw it lying there with its eyes closed, not moving at all. However, judging from the little yellow chick¡¯s thumping stomach, it was still alive. It had just fainted or fallen asleep. Zhang Bei shook its little head and found that there was no way to wake it up, so he put it back into its nest. The little yellow chick was asleep, and Zhang Bei had nothing to do. He put away the broken glass test tube and placed it beside the red test tube. He held the red test tube and looked at the bright liquid inside. He restrained his desire to drink it and put it back in the box. After doing this, he lay on the bed and turned off the table lamp to sleep. He tossed and turned many times but still couldn¡¯t sleep. Therefore, he turned on the table lamp and looked at the world channel. While looking at the world channel, he realized that there were so many night owls. It seemed that even if there was no nightlife in space, everyone slept very late. Suddenly, someone sent a photo. Zhang Bei opened it and the image of the sun popped out. He felt extremely hot just looking at it. He asked in the world channel. ¡°Eh, why did you send the photo?¡± The other party replied quickly. ¡°Look at the red dot in the bottom left corner of the world channel. Do you see it?¡± Zhang Bei looked at the bottom left corner and indeed found a red dot. He tapped lightly and the channel closed. Then, the notification said that the update would be completed in half an hour. Zhang Bei looked at the sleeping little yellow chick and looked at the world channel that would finish updating in half an hour. He sighed and turned off the table lamp. He closed his eyes and recalled the past. After Zhang Bei closed his eyes, the little yellow chick¡¯s body glowed with a blue light. The light circled the little yellow chick a few times before returning to its body. Zhang Bei closed his eyes and fell asleep quickly. He dreamed of the time when he was working on Earth. He would go home to cook for himself and his kitten. He remembered that when he got off work, someone was preparing to euthanize their kitten because it was too ugly. He happened to pass by and stopped the owner. He even spent money to buy the kitten. In the beginning, this kitten did not dare to let Zhang Bei touch it at all. It bared its teeth, scratched and bit him every day. Later, after getting familiar, it slept beside him every day. Zhang Bei named him potato chips because every time it ate cat food, it would make a crisp sound like when he was eating potato chips. Chi chi chi, the little yellow chick¡¯s chirping came along with a sharp pain on his head. Zhang Bei didn¡¯t even open his eyes. He directly pulled the little yellow chick from his head and rubbed his eyes. He then carefully observed the little yellow chick. In the end, he found that the little yellow chick hadn¡¯t changed at all, but its fur felt a little fluffier than before. It seemed like this potion was useless. He put the little yellow chick aside and closed his eyes to continue sleeping. However, the little yellow chick refused to give up. It tugged at Zhang Bei¡¯s hair, wanting to pull him up. Zhang Bei was very angry. He picked up the little yellow chick and flicked its little head with force. ¡°Do you know that it¡¯s still night? Look outside. Is there a sun? Is there a sun? Why are you waking me up when the sun is not up yet?¡± The little yellow chick chirped pitifully, but it still bit Zhang Bei¡¯s finger and wanted to bring him outside. Zhang Bei was very helpless, but he still followed the little yellow chick. When he got outside, he saw the little yellow chick go outside and chirp at Zhang Bei twice. Then, it turned around and spat out a small flame at the almost finished fire on the ground. He was stupefied. He looked at the little yellow chick with a very shocked expression. Then, he squatted down and poked the little yellow chick¡¯s head, telling it, ¡°Come and throw up another one.¡± The little yellow chick rubbed its head against Zhang Bei¡¯s hand and chirped twice. Then, it spat out another fireball at the fire. This time, Zhang Bei could clearly see that the fireball was really spat out from the little yellow chick¡¯s mouth. Zhang Bei could not accept this fact. He was not afraid, but he wondered if that potion really changed its genes. If the blue potion could change the genes of animals and the red potion could really change the genes of humans, what would happen to Zhang Bei if he drank the red potion? Would he also spit fire? He didn¡¯t understand this matter and didn¡¯t dare to think about it. If such technology really existed, then how powerful was the civilization that invented this technology? If they decided to harm humans, then would there be a place for humans? Zhang Bei broke out in a cold sweat. Then, he suddenly thought if he could get some answers from the cosmologist. Coincidentally, the World Channel had already finished updating. He opened the World Channel and found the cosmologist. He then added him as a friend. After a while, the cosmologist accepted his friend request and greeted Zhang Bei. ¡°May I know who you are?¡± Zhang Bei reported his name and asked the cosmologist, ¡°Is there a civilization of a higher level than Earth?¡± Of course, he did not dare to say that he had something in his hand. A man¡¯s wealth could be a sin. Regardless of whether the other party was a good or bad person, as long as he said it, someone would definitely target the thing in his hand. But the other party¡¯s words shocked Zhang Bei. The cosmologist said, ¡°Of course there are. The entire Milky Way, the entire Solar System, and the entire galaxy have all kinds of cosmic civilizations, and Earth is only one of the low-level civilizations.¡± ¡°Have you found something of other civilizations? Of course, you can choose not to tell me, but I have to remind you that you have to be careful when using anything because our physiques and genes are not necessarily compatible with the things in other galaxies. If you use it rashly, I don¡¯t know what serious consequences there will be.¡± Zhang Bei was silent for a long time. Then he decided to tell the cosmologist about little yellow chick. He told the cosmologist everything from the time he picked up the little yellow chick to the time it drank the blue potion, but he did not mention the battle between the big white chicken and the snake. The cosmologist did not reply for a long time. When he replied, he said to Zhang Bei that this little yellow chicken might have already undergone a change due to the radiation. Therefore, the mutation when it drank the potion might be due to the strengthening of its body. ¡°As long as the yellow chick doesn¡¯t have the intention to hurt you, you can raise it slowly. It will be of help to you one day.¡± Then, he joked, ¡°It can also be used as a lighter.¡± Zhang Bei smiled and thanked the cosmologist.. Chapter 37 After chatting with the cosmologist, Zhang Bei looked helplessly at the little yellow chick spewing fire everywhere. Just as it was having fun, it was picked up by Zhang Bei and brought back to the tent. Zhang Bei placed it in its nest and squatted in front of it, telling it not to breathe fire everywhere. If you accidentally lit up our things, then we would have nothing, and you would have no food to eat. The little yellow chick tilted its head as if it understood and then lay down obediently in the nest. Zhang Bei rubbed his stomach and felt a little hungry again. Then, he told the little yellow chick that there was still some leftover soup for lunch. ¡°Let¡¯s take a few pieces of bread and make a pot of noodles to eat.¡± Zhang Bei passed by the fridge and thought of the meat inside. He swallowed his saliva and shook his head hard. If he ate meat every meal, it would be finished soon. He could just eat it every few days to satisfy his cravings. Then, he entered the storeroom and took out instant noodles, two pieces of bread, and two sausages. He walked to his bed and poured a bottle of mineral water into the kettle and waited for the water to boil. Just like before, he broke off half a piece of bread and placed it in the little yellow chick¡¯s bowl before eating it. The water boiled, and he opened the noodles, and threw it in along with the seasonings and dried vegetables. After a while, the entire room was filled with fragrance. Zhang Bei started eating the instant noodles along with sausages and bread. However, what Zhang Bei did not notice was that there were some tiny green hairs on the bread. Two hours later, the green hair that he had eaten caused Zhang Bei¡¯s stomach to react. Zhang Bei picked up the tissue paper and dug a hole in the ground, to use as a toilet. When Zhang Bei went to the toilet for the tenth time, his face was pale and he was exhausted. It¡¯s probably gastroenteritis, Zhang Bei thought. But he didn¡¯t have any medicine with him. What should he do? He lay on the bed and thought to himself, Could it be that I won¡¯t die of hunger in space but will die from gastroenteritis? No, he couldn¡¯t just sit still. Then, Zhang Bei opened the Exchange Platform to search for anti-inflammatory drugs. He really found one. He quickly opened the exchange interface. The other party was clearly asleep, and had been woken up from the messages. He sent a message in an unhappy tone. ¡°What¡¯s wrong? You want to trade? Three days worth of food, take it or leave.¡± Zhang Bei wanted to save as much as possible. He bargained and offered two days, saying he did not have much food now. The other party had already said that take the offer or leave. He had a very bad temper and said that he would go back to sleep if Zhang Bei did not agree. Zhang Bei¡¯s stomach began to hurt again. Sweat broke out on his forehead, and his face was very pale. Then, he sighed and said, ¡°Deal.¡± The other party confirmed the exchange and Zhang Bei also confirmed the transaction. The anti-inflammatory medicine immediately landed in his hands. Zhang Bei quickly boiled a pot of hot water, opened the pills, and poured some into his mouth. The moment the hot water entered his stomach, Zhang Bei felt warm and comfortable. After taking the medicine, he lay on the bed. As the drug¡¯s effect kicked in, his stomach no longer hurt, and he fell asleep. When Zhang Bei woke up, it was just dawn. He went out for a walk and saw the few pits he dug yesterday. He opened the Exchange Platform and prepared to buy something. He used a few bottles of mineral water, a few slices of bread, and a few pieces of chocolate to exchange for half a container and some wooden boards, preparing to build a small toilet for himself. Although half a container could not be used to build a house, it was more than enough to make a small toilet. Zhang Bei used a saw to cut half the container into steel plates. He then piled the steel plates together and turned them into a small cubicle. Then, he melted the remaining copper wires into a pile of liquid copper and sealed the small toilet with it. Then, he put a few wooden boards on the roof and wrapped them with thorny brambles. He had wanted to make a door, but later realized that without hinges, there was no way to make a door that could be opened and closed. He could only fix the snake skin on the door and make a small curtain. After finishing the toilet, Zhang Bei thought of the situation yesterday and his eyebrows twitched. Yes, he did not have any medicine. Whether it was the cut infection or the previous stab by the thorns, or the gastroenteritis yesterday, there was no hospital in the universe. Even a small illness could cost him his life. Just as Zhang Bei was thinking about whether he should collect some medicine, the detector suddenly glowed. Zhang Bei looked at it and saw that it was blue with a trace of light purple. It was a color that had never appeared before. Zhang Bei was overjoyed. This time, it was definitely something good. He sank his consciousness into the detector. The detector made a bang, and he was shocked. ¡°What are you doing? You scared me to death,¡± Zhang Bei jumped to the side and said to the detector. The detector smiled and said to him, ¡°Congratulations. A very, very good thing appeared in the southeast today. Hurry up.¡± ¡°How far is it? Tell me that first,¡± Zhang Bei said helplessly. ¡°It is about 800 kilometers this time,¡± the detector said gently. F*ck, Zhang Bei couldn¡¯t help but curse, ¡°It will take at least an hour to travel so far. I¡¯m exhausted.¡± However, thinking that there would be good things today, he suppressed the dissatisfaction. After withdrawing from the detector, he sat on the bed and found a comfortable position to connect to the asteroid. Then, he began to fly southeast. After connecting to the asteroid, he was exhausted. He realized that the speed had slowed down, so he tried to hold on a little longer. However, he would not be able to last for the whole journey. He could only fly slowly until he couldn¡¯t hold on anymore. He would rest at that time and continue flying. After flying for nearly 45 minutes, Zhang Bei felt a sharp pain in his head. Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead, and his face turned pale again. He disconnected from the asteroid and lay on the bed, closing his eyes to rest. He closed his eyes and rested for a while. After eating two pieces of chocolate, he finally relaxed. After taking two gulps of water, he connected his consciousness to the asteroid and continued moving southeast. Zhang Bei flew slowly. He passed by asteroids one after another, but most of them were empty. When he got back, he could go to the asteroids to take a look. If there was no one else, he could search for some supplies.. Chapter 38 Finally, when Zhang Bei¡¯s consciousness was about to collapse, he saw the blue light sphere and the thing that was emitting purple light. He gritted his teeth and charged over. He heard two familiar bubbling sounds. He quickly disconnected from the asteroid and collapsed on the bed. Before he could see what the two light spheres were, he fainted. After an unknown period of time, Zhang Bei woke up and hurriedly ran to the place where the two light spheres had fallen. A bottle of shiny things appeared in front of him, and beside it was a small box. Zhang Bei tossed and turned but could not tell what these things were, so he quickly brought these things into the Appraisal Center and asked the little dwarf to help him appraise them. Zhang Bei placed the two items on the table. The dwarf saw the small box and only glanced at it, but his eyes lit up when he saw the shiny bottle. The dwarf picked up the shiny bottle carefully. After a few minutes, he reluctantly handed it to Zhang Bei. When Zhang Bei got that thing, the information about this thing had already entered his brain. When he learned the information, he was stunned. He didn¡¯t expect to obtain the second material so easily. Super Starlight Materials: Super heat-resistant anti radiation material produced by the Technology City. It is mostly used on space mechas. It is very useful for the heat-resistant outfit of space mechas. Usage: Just apply it directly on the mech. Zhang Bei was shocked. This thing was really good material. Super heat-resistant anti radiation. Could it turn all ordinary mecha into space mecha? Then, Zhang Bei saw the dwarf pick up the small box and return it to Zhang Bei after a while. Super medical box: Created by the Technology City. It has a refrigeration function. It can be used to freeze drugs that require refrigeration. The space inside can be expanded to 5 square meters. Zhang Bei opened the small medicine box. There were some medicines arranged neatly. There were anti-inflammatory drugs, some vitamins, some ethyl alcohol, cotton swabs, iodophor, and other things. There were also three syringes at the bottom. The texts on them were written in English. He looked at them carefully for a long time but could not understand them, so he put them back. There were also some bandages and gauze beside them. There were many rolls. Zhang Bei was extremely happy. The thing he wanted had actually appeared all at once today. He carried the items and hummed a song as he left the Appraisal Center. Then, he placed the items in the storage room. The super starlight material was locked in a small iron box that had a password lock. Zhang Bei felt hungry. After all, he had worked hard for so long and had used so much of his mental power. He really felt like his body was emptied. Let¡¯s eat something nice to nourish myself tonight. Zhang Bei got up and walked to the refrigerator. He took out some beef and placed it beside the fire to thaw it. Then, he walked to the greenhouse and picked some chili, cabbage, and tomatoes. He also picked two cucumbers and prepared to cook a sumptuous meal. Zhang Bei first tore the cabbage into pieces. The vegetables he planted in the greenhouse were good. He did not have to worry about soil or insects. He could eat them directly. He heated the fire a little more and then put some coconut oil in. After the oil was heated, he put in garlic and chilli and stir-fried them for a while. When he smelled the fragrance of garlic and chilli, he put the cabbage in. After putting the cabbage in, he stir-fried it with some salt and black pepper. This way, the stir-fried cabbage would be fresh. He put the dish on a plate. Then, Zhang Bei put some oil into the pot and cut the beef into pieces before putting them in the pot. After the beef was slightly cooked, he put in salt and black pepper. Then, he put some chili in the pot and stir-fried it. The stir-fried beef with chili was ready. He still felt that it was insufficient, so he picked up the cucumber and patted it with the back of the knife. Then, he cut it into slices and put some garlic paste in it. He mixed some salt at the end along with chili paste and put it in the fridge. Zhang Bei cut a few tomatoes and placed them on the plate. Then, he sprinkled some white sugar on them. It was a cold tomato salad. Zhang Bei looked at the four dishes. Two were hot dishes and two were cold. He was very happy. He picked up the chopsticks and began to eat. He first picked up a piece of beef and put it in his mouth. It was a little burnt and soft, and seemed to melt in the mouth. However, it was chewy and very delicious. Then, he picked up a piece of cabbage. Although there were no excess ingredients used, the cabbage he grew himself was very sweet. With the stimulation of some salt, it was very delicious. As for the salad tomatoes and cucumber, they were good because the ingredients used were too delicious. After finishing the meal, he patted his swollen stomach and lay back on the bed. He was a little sleepy. However, he wanted to look at the sky outside and decided not to sleep for the time being. Therefore, he opened the world channel. As expected, the world channel now had the function of sending pictures and voice messages. He first tried the voice message function and sent a message. ¡°Anyone online?¡± There were also people replying with voice messages. ¡°What are you guys doing? Have you eaten?¡± Some people sent pictures. One was of a piece of bread and some water. Another sent a photo of some bread with two ham sausages inside. Some people held a piece of chocolate in their hands, while others held a bowl of instant noodles. In short, those who had food were sending pictures. Those who had nothing to eat could only drool silently. Zhang Bei thought for a moment and picked up a cucumber. He took a bite and sent the photo to the group. Immediately, people exploded and sent voice messages to him. ¡°Bro, where did you get the cucumber? Where did you get it?¡± ¡°God, I want to eat it too. It looks very crisp and juicy. It looks too tempting.¡± Then, a delicate young girl sent a voice message saying, ¡°Give me a cucumber to eat. I can do anything you want me to.¡± Some indecent men would laugh and say, ¡°Little girl, are you going to eat it or use it?¡± The group of people burst into laughter, and Zhang Bei also disappeared from their sight. Zhang Bei closed the world channel and sighed. These people actually want to eat so much that they¡¯re going crazy. Just a cucumber can make them so happy.. If they know that I have so much to eat, won¡¯t they skin me alive and snatch them away? Chapter 39 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios After sleeping, Zhang Bei felt that his spirit and body had recovered to their peak state. The detector had not emitted any light, and there was nothing to do now. Therefore, he suddenly had the idea of exploring the asteroids. Zhang Bei found a comfortable position and connected to the asteroid. Then, he controlled it to fly in a random direction. Eh, is there an asteroid ahead? He saw that the asteroid was filled with green plants and was delighted. There must be some plants here that he could bring back and plant in the greenhouse. Zhang Bei was really passionate about planting now. His self-sufficient life was too wonderful. He connected his asteroid to the protective membrane of the asteroid and jumped onto it. Zhang Bei still called out politely. ¡°Is anyone here?¡± But there was no response. Zhang Bei saw a small triangular house in the distance and walked over. He found that there were actually some good things inside. Oh, this mattress is a good thing. I feel like my waist is going to break if I sleep on soft feathers every day. Just nice, this mattress can be spread underneath that. Eh, is this a small bedside table? This person is quite skillful. There is a place to store things at the table. What kind of clay pot is this? Ah, a clay pot is a good thing. It can be used to slowly stew meat. The taste is definitely much better than the taste of cooking with an iron pot. Zhang Bei searched for a long time and basically collected everything. Then, he removed the wooden boards and iron bars outside the shelter and moved them to his asteroid. There did not seem to be any good plants. However, seeing that there seemed to be strings of green grapes on the shelf outside, Zhang Bei brought back a shovel and dug out the roots of the grapes. He moved the entire rack of grapes to his asteroid and planted them beside the thorny brambles. Zhang Bei bowed to the shelter and said thank you. Rest in peace. I will live for you. Then, he turned around and jumped back to his asteroid, moving towards another asteroid. After sorting out the things he had gathered, Zhang Bei connected to his asteroid and set off again. Before long, Zhang Bei encountered another asteroid. But strangely, this asteroid was covered in ice. It was covered in layers of ice, but there was no sign of snow nearby. Zhang Bei connected the protective membranes of the asteroids and jumped down. When he reached the ground, he stepped on a piece of ice and realized that there was only stone under his feet. There was no water. Under the circumstances that there was no water or gas, the stone was actually frozen. This meant that the temperature was very cold. However, Zhang Wei did not feel very cold, so he was more and more curious. It was the same as before. He asked if anyone was around. No one replied. Zhang Bei sighed. It seemed like this person had an accident. He slowly walked over and realized that this person¡¯s shelter was a natural small cave. This cave was about three meters tall and the depth was also more than three meters. It was like a three-square-meter small house that happened to have the effect of shielding the wind and rain. Zhang Bei was extremely envious. Back then, he had spent a lot of effort to find a suitable shelter. And this person had obtained a natural shelter at the beginning. Zhang Bei walked to the front of the cave and looked at the dark cave. He swallowed and lit the flame stick. When he entered, he realized that the cave was cold and eerie. It was not like ordinary caves. Zhang Bei went in and only found a few tattered clothes on a bed made of paper boxes. There was some food piled beside it, but he did not find anything else. Zhang Bei picked up the edible food and wanted to pack it up with a paper box. When he opened the box, he found some blue balls underneath. He picked up one of the blue balls and immediately let go and threw it down, because when the sphere touched his palm, it was extremely cold. Of course, Zhang Bei definitely did not think that it was worthless. Therefore, he returned to his asteroid, took a few clothes, wrapped a big spoon, and placed these spheres in a box with the spoon, and brought it back to his asteroid along with the food. At first, he did not know if it was his imagination or something, but Zhang Bei felt the ice under his feet loosen a little. He turned around and bowed, then jumped onto his asteroid and left. After going through two asteroids, Zhang Bei felt that he had gained enough today. He could not be too greedy. He had to organize his things after collecting so many things. Zhang Bei sorted out the food first. Although these people did not have much food, there were quite a lot of types. At least, Zhang Bei saw a few bags of potato chips and some QQ candies. After sorting out the food, he prepared to put them in the storeroom. He sorted the wooden boards and iron frames he had collected earlier and put them in the greenhouse. He saw two empty flower pots, thought for a moment, and put some soil in them. After cleaning up, he looked at the blue balls in the box. Zhang Bei wrapped his hand with a cloth and picked it up to take a closer look. The round bead glowed with blue light. Even through the thick layers of cloth, he felt the bone-chilling coldness. Should he appraise it at the Appraisal Center? Zhang Bei walked into the Appraisal Center with a blue ball and placed it on the counter. The dwarf turned around, his eyes still on the other thing in his hand, so he reached for the blue ball without looking. Zhang Bei let out a cry as the dwarf¡¯s hand touched the round ball. Ah, are you trying to kill me? The dwarf threw the round ball to the ground. Zhang Bei quickly picked it up and patted it, then said to the dwarf, ¡°Can you afford to pay if it¡¯s broken?¡± The dwarf rolled his eyes at him and said, ¡°No matter how precious it is, I can afford it. Bring it over.¡± The dwarf put on a glove and took the blue ball. After a few minutes, he handed it back to Zhang Bei. He took the blue ball and the information about this thing entered his head. Ice Pea Cannon Seed: Created by Plant City. When it becomes mature, its head becomes the shape of a cannon barrel. When in danger, it will spit out ice pea shells at the enemy at two shells per second. After successfully hitting the enemy, it will cause an explosion, dealing double damage to the enemy. Zhang Bei was stunned. Chapter 40 Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios Zhang Bei was still immersed in the information just now when he left the Appraisal Center. Heavens, was this a peashooter? Even the peashooter was released? Who could match its destructive power? Since it was a seed, he returned to his tent without a word and took out a flower pot to place the seed inside. Then, he poured a bottle cap of diluted growth agent into the pot. However, what he did not expect was that the seed did not even move after the lid of the growth agent was poured. Zhang Bei did not give up. He poured another two lids of growth liquid, but the seed still did not move. ¡®Could it be that the level of this seed is too high, and this growth agent is useless?¡¯ Zhang Bei looked at it for more than an hour, but the seed still did not move. He yawned and lay on the bed, wondering if it would show effect tomorrow morning. Perhaps the absorption of this seed was slower. The sun rose. The first thing Zhang Bei did after waking up was to run to look at the seed he had planted yesterday. What surprised him was that in just a short night, that seed had already grown into a sapling. It seemed like it was still a matter of time. He discovered that this thing had four leaves. There was a round bean pod on the top. On the other side of the bean pod was a small leaf, and on the other side was a horn-shaped hole. Then, he carefully observed the mouth of the loudspeaker. There were two black spots like dots on the loudspeaker, looking at him like two eyeballs. Zhang Bei was confused. Why did it look more and more like a plant in a game? He wondered if there were other plants in the Plant City. For example, those that could breathe fire and spray water. Then, he was amused by his idea and laughed for a long time. Suddenly, Zhang Bei heard a rustling sound outside. He picked up the kitchen knife and silently walked out of the tent. He realized that there was a snake outside and it was moving over secretly. Since there is a monster here, let¡¯s deal with it first. Zhang Bei did not place any hope on the peashooter on the table. Even if this was a peashooter, it was only a few centimeters long, what could it do? Could he really count on it to spray the snake to death? Zhang Bei walked over with the kitchen knife, preparing to kill the little snake with one strike. Suddenly, he heard a rustling sound behind him. He turned around in confusion and cursed. He saw the little pea in the flower pot trying its best to shrink its mouth and bend back. With a few poo poo poo sounds, a few beans flew out of the mouth of the small loudspeaker and hit the little snake. The little snake seemed to reveal a disdainful smile, and then it charged towards Zhang Bei while dodging the beans. But what the snake and Zhang Bei did not expect was that after the beans fell to the ground, they actually formed an ice surface. This snake slipped on the ice and arrived in front of Zhang Bei. Zhang Bei slashed the snake in half. Looking at the two halves of the snake in front of him, he came to his senses. Zhang Bei looked at the little sapling in the flower pot in surprise. He had never expected such a small sapling to create such a huge ice surface. Then, when it reached maturity, wouldn¡¯t it be even more powerful? This little thing was really very good. Its range was very far, and its power was very terrifying. Moreover, it basically had an aiming function. But perhaps it was still too small now and did not have any automatic aiming for now since the little snake was able to dodge its beans. Zhang Bei looked at the nine pea seeds in the box and decided to plant them all at once. He planted a whole circle around his shelter. When he returned to the tent, he realized that the little pea was already a little dispirited. Even the leaves had bent down. It seemed like the pea needed time to recover before it could continue spewing beans. He took out all the growth agent and poured it into the water bottle. Then, he began to water the peas. He watered them one by one and looked at them. He thought that by tomorrow, they should be able to attack invaders. If that was the case, would he still need to be afraid of anything? Any animal that came would be bombarded by these ten peas. It would be great if he could find other peashooters like cactus and potato-mine. Zhang Bei thought happily. He did not imagine that in the future, everything he said would become reality. At that time, the danger he would face would also become greater and greater. After dealing with the plants, Zhang Bei cut the steel plates that he had removed from the other shelter into strips and added them to the middle of the tent. He also reinforced the concrete layer with a layer of steel plates. Last time, a bull easily bored through the concrete with its horns. With another layer of steel, it should be more firm. After doing this, he washed his hands and looked at the orderly environment. He couldn¡¯t help but feel a sense of pride. It turned out that he could still live happily in this place. Although he missed his family, he was still alive and well. His parents must be very happy to know that he was still working hard in life. Furthermore, they must also be working hard somewhere. Rumble. His stomach growled. Seeing that the sky was about to turn dark, he decided to have a bonfire party that night. Zhang Bei picked up the sharp thorny brambles and cut some beef and chicken meat. He also put on some chicken wings, tore some cabbage, and put them on the sticks. He thought for a moment and took out two pieces of sausages. He scored them lightly and put them to the side. He placed some dried brambles on the ground. He had wanted to use the flame stick to ignite them, but he suddenly thought of the little yellow chick, so he flicked its head and said, ¡°Hurry up and spit out the fire to ignite this pile of thorns.¡± The little yellow chick tilted its head and spat out a ball of fire at the thorns. Then, it chirped for a while as if it was asking for a reward from Zhang Bei. He broke off half a piece of cabbage and threw it into its bowl. ¡°Eat it.¡± The little yellow chick pecked at the cabbage happily. Zhang Bei started roasting the skewers one by one. He would add some salt and black pepper when they were almost done cooking. There was a different feeling to eating food in the primitive style. After eating and drinking his fill, he looked at the peashooters. All of them had tiny sprouts, and two tender leaves were swaying. Back in the tent, he collapsed on the bed. Suddenly, the detector glowed purple. He rubbed his eyes. Yes, pure purple light. Zhang Bei became serious and sent his consciousness into the detector.
