"When are you nning to leave for the Capitol?" Perry asked.
"I haven''t decided yet," Celine replied.
Perry took out a gold-embossed invitation. "Don''t wait, Celine. Leave tomorrow. The Capitol is about to host an Apex G, inviting the top 100 individuals from the Summit Index. Everyone attending is a powerful figure in high society. This is your invitation."
Celine took the invitation and opened it. Inside, her alias-Linny-was elegantly printed.
"The world''s most influential pharmaceutical conglomerate, Alpite Pharma, will have its mysterious boss, Linny, attending this Apex G. The news has already spread, and your presence will be the event''s highlight. This is the perfect opportunity for you to return to the Capitol."
Linny was Celine''s alias, known only to a select few. She was the true power behind Alpite Pharma, the most prestigious medical corporation in the world.
Celine didn''t refuse the invitation but hesitated, ncing at Be, who was happily drawing with her nanny.
"But if I go to the Capitol, what about Be? She''s never been apart from me. She''s really clingy," Celine said, clearly worried.
Perry raised an eyebrow. "Celine, aren''t you bringing Be with you?"
Celine shook her head. "No."
"Why not? Are you afraid of Be meeting her father?"
Celine looked into the distance. "Adam and I are over. He''s going to marry Carly, the heiress of the richest family. I don''t want Be and Adam to meet.
"I know it''s unfair to Be-she has the right to know who her father is. But call
me selfish. I don''t want Be to be caught between the Alvarez and Hampton families. I just want my daughter to be happy and safe."
Perry nodded. He had always respected Celine''s decisions.
Be was Celine''s daughter, and Celine had fought to bring her into this world. She had every right to decide what was best for her.
"Then go to the Capitol without worry. I''ll take care of Be."
"You? Take care of Be?" Celine asked in mock surprise.
"What, you don''t trust me?"
Perry turned toward Be. "Be,e here."
Be immediately jumped up, her little hands and feet moving quickly as she ran straight into Perry''s arms.
"Daddy Perry, why are you calling me?" she asked.
Perry gave her a peck on the cheek "Be Mommay has to go on a
business trip. How about you le
with me for a few days?"
wo
Be turned to Celine. "Mommy, are you going far away?"
Celine nodded. "Yes, sweetie."
"Then can Ie with you? I want to stay with Mommy!"
Be wanted to go to the Capitol with Celine.
Celine smiled gently. "Be, Mommy is going for work this time. I won''t have time to take care of you. But be gone only for a few days, and fle back soon. You can stay with Baddy Perry, and call you every
day."
Be thought for a moment, then nodded. "Okay! I agree!"
"That''s my good girl."
The next day, Celine finished packing her luggage. Perry and Be took her to the airport.
"Go without worries, Celine," Perry assured her.
Be waved her tiny hands. "Bye-bye, Mommy!"
Celine kissed Be''s cheek before boarding her private jet to the Capitol.
Perry picked Be up. "Be, let''s go home."
Just then, Be''s eyesnded on a lollipop. "Daddy Perry, can you buy me a lollipop?"
Perry put her down on a seat in the
airport lobby
"Be a good gin
girl and sit
Here. go buy one for you."
With that, he walked off to buy the lollipop.
Be sat quietly, waiting.
Just then, a tall and handsome man entered the airport lobby.
It was Adam.
