Chapter 434 - 67: Test of the Seer

The interior of the pce was quite nice. The decorations were not excessive, generally a simple design was preferred.

    But it was very big.

    Really, really big.

It wasn’t that obvious from the outside, actually...

The pces were all big, after all. At least they usually were.

But walking around inside one... it was apletely different feeling.

I felt like I could get lost in the wrong corridor.

The people who walked these corridors also didn’t seem... friendly. There were servants, guards, nobles I didn’t even know who they were.

But the strange thing was that... none of them were looking at us. Find your next read on NovelBin.C?m

Not a single one of them turned in our direction, as if they couldn’t see us or might die the moment they did.

It made the already ufortable atmosphere even more tense. As if... we were invisible.

No, as if everyone was deliberately ignoring us.

And yet neither my brother nor the prince, who was walking right in front of him, acted like anything was wrong.

They were calm. The prince even had a little smile on his face that he didn’t remove.

And so we went up a few floors inside the pce, and as we continued to move through theplex corridors... we finally came to a certain room. The prince and my brother finally stopped.

There were two guards standing in front of the door of the room, and they were the ones who opened it.

The door revealed a ratherrge room behind it. It looked like a... simple living room, actually. There was a ratherrge table in the center, surrounded by wide and long couches. The walls were decorated with delicate carvings that were quite pleasing to the eye, apanied by a few eye-catching paintings. There was no need for lighting, it was still early in the morning, but therge chandelier hanging from the ceiling wasrge enough that no other source of light was needed.

The prince took one of the single armchairs in the center of the room. And my brother did the same, a little away from him.

As the door was closing behind us, they both behaved as they had done so far.

But when the door closedpletely, that’s when the change urred.

No matter how much my brother remained the same, the smile on the prince’s face suddenly disappeared. The casual-looking smiling expression on his face was reced with seriousness, his green eyes quickly focused on me. My brother also did the same.

    "Come closer to us, ra."

It was only after my brother’s words that I realized I was still standing where I was, almost afraid to approach them.

I swallowed slightly so that no one would notice, and slowly approached one of the couches furthest away from the prince, which was also rtively close to my brother.

After I sat down... the prince spoke in apletely different way than before.

"It’s nice to meet you, I don’t think I need to introduce myself again... but I apologize if I’ve been ufortable."

Although his face was very serious... there was a hidden sincerity behind it. And as ufortable as it had been before, it was also serious.

    "No problem..."

He took his eyes off me for a brief moment and turned them toward my brother after my words, as if seeking approval.

All my brother did was simply nod his head. Then, the prince continued.

"First of all, how long ago did you awaken the system?"

"About eleven months, toward the end of January."

He paused for a moment, his brow furrowed.

"You’re... three to four months away from turning eighteen, right?"

    "Yes."

    "Oh..."

    He seemed honestly surprised.

He hadn’t heard anything that wasn’t surprising, to be honest.

After all, I had awakened before I was seventeen, ording to what I had said.

That was much, much earlier than the average.

    "What’s your Mana Efficiency stat?"

    "A+ right now."

He narrowed his eyes slightly at my answer.

"And you gained the irvoyance skill upon your awakening?"

He asked his question simply, actually.

He hadn’t done anything, his tone hadn’t even changed.

But for some reason... I suddenly found myself with my nervousness multiplied many times over.

Was the room a bit cold, or was it just me...?

"Y- yes... I have also acquired another skill called Memory Travel."

The prince narrowed his eyes even more. He waited in silence for a while, as if his focus was not on me but on... something else, as if his eyes were looking at me but not really looking.

Then, suddenly, he closed his eyes, leaned back, and took a deep breath in and out.

He was silent like that for a while longer, opening his eyes and looking at the ceiling.

    And then...

    "I see."

He finally turned his eyes back to me.

This time, he didn’t have such an overly serious expression, he looked more... rxed.

    "Mr. Chazon, you cane in."

After his words, one of the walls of the living room caught my eye. While everything else was standing still... this wall had moved, after all.

Like an electronic door, it first moved forward and then opened in two parts to the right and left.

Behind it was another room that looked just like this one.

But the important thing was not that, it was... the person who appeared in the doorway.

    He was old.

    Extremely old.

There was not a single gray spot in his hair, even his eyes seemed to have lost their rity. They used to be brown, probably, but now they were so pale that they looked almost gray.

He used a cane, like my brother, but this cane was not simply for support, like his, but was really an essentialponent for him. He was a short man with a slight hunchback and wrinkles all over his skin.

He looked like he would copse if I blew on him. He was so... thin.

But, at the same time, there was a strange air around him. Not a suffocating one, as if he was someone overly strong, no. More... mysterious, as if, iprehensible.

The first step the old man took caused his body to tremble slightly, showing how difficult it was for him to even take a step. But he did not stop or grimace as if this was normal for him. He walked to us with slow steps, in no hurry, supported by his cane.

All the while, he didn’t even nce at my brother or the prince. His eyes were only directed toward me.

The small smile on his lips, however, instead of making this constant gaze ufortable, made it sweet, like an old man looking at his grandchild.

    "Hi, miss."

He didn’t sit directly on a couch or armchair. On the contrary... when he came in front of me, he stopped and extended his hand to me, widening his smile.

I paused for a moment when I realized that he wanted to shake hands, that I was still standing in my ce... but that the prince and my brother had already stood up as a sign of respect.

I quickly stood up and shook the hand extended to me, wondering if my mistake would be seen as disrespectful.

    "H- hello..."

But the man in front of me didn’t seem to care.

After a brief moment, he withdrew his hand without lowering his smile, and though his eyes remained on me for a little while longer, he extended his hand to my brother and the prince as well.

The deep silence that fell over the room was so intense and ufortable that I was afraid that I couldn’t understand anything, that I had no idea who this person in front of us was.

But then, the old man slowly sat down on a couch directly opposite me, and my brother and the prince sat down again. I was thest one to sit down, again realizing everything toote.

"It’s normal to be nervous, young miss. But it’s in all our interests that you calm down."

    His words were slow, calm.

They were not heavy-toned or tough. On the contrary, they sounded so gentle andpassionate.

So much so that... without even realizing it, I found myself rxing, bing calmer.

"I’m going to ask you one thing. It might be a little difficult, maybe, but if you are who you im to be, you have nothing to worry about... don’t worry."

Without opening my mouth, I nodded my head, indicating that I was ready.

I was sure I would stutter, I didn’t feel like talking.

Still, I tried to be confident.

Because I was starting to form ideas in my mind about the identity of the person in front of me.

"Close your eyes first, rx your body. Then, I want you to bring to mind all the visions, voices, prophecies you have ever seen with irvoyance, from the smallest to thergest."

I closed my eyespletely, thinking of all the things I had seen for almost a year.

Just as he said, no matter how insignificant or important it seemed... everything.

    "Darkness..."

It was him, the one who spoke.

Why he suddenly said that, I had no idea.

Yet... an idea came to me and I started to match his words with what I had seen with the irvoyance till now.

And a word suddenly came to my mind.

    "Light..."

    After me, he spoke again.

    "Chaos..."

And I did the same again.

    "Order..."

    ...

A specific memory popped into my mind, a memory from a long time ago.

One from when my brother was still fighting in the Hr.

Around that time, I had a dream... or rather a string of words that I heard, but I was sure it was not a simple dream.

The old man didn’t say another word after that.

And in that silence... I finally understood what he wanted from me.

    "Dragon."

    He wanted me to continue.

    "Phoenix."

    And that’s what I did.

    "Nothingness."

The tension inside me, I don’t know why, slowly disappeared.

I found myself feeling much more rxed.

    "Death."

I paused after thest word, I couldn’t help waiting for a brief moment.

Because... it was not a simple word.

Unlike other words, it had a small detail.

    "An unavoidable death..."

    It was deeper.

"A death that fate condemns to happen, even if it is postponed..."

And... this death did not feel like the end of the prophecy.

It was more like... the opposite, the beginning.

    It was backward, the prophecy.

At least that’s what it felt like to me.

    "..."

When I realized that I had nothing more to say, I felt the need to open my eyes, and what I saw was the old man himself, with a very wide smile on his face.

And he was also the one who broke the silence in the room again.

"The time of impending doom draws near, Catastrophes loom, and the end seems clear."

    Again... with a prophecy.

The one that I knew, again.

"No one can halt the relentless plight, Only slow its march, against endless night."

He wanted me to continue in the same way as before.

"Six alone bear the world’s desperate plea, To avert the abyss, to set mankind free."

But after that, when I was going to go on and on... he raised his hand and stopped me.

"No need for more, thank you."

As he lowered his hand... there was not only a smile on his face, but a satisfied expression, and with it, relief.

    "Congrattions, young miss."

    But, strangely...

"You are now officially one of the three seers of Lunerra. And one of the two of Cevilian."

For some reason, a little sadness apanied this expression of his.

    "Thank... you?"

Why, I can’t help but wonder...
