    Chapter 535: Chapter 535 Misunderstanding_1

All the way, Julius Reed gloomily fell silent.

He had brought Sophia Leocadia here just to scare the girl away.

But now, to his dismay, she was unshakeable, not really scared at all.

Instead, she looked like someone who had passed a test and was in high spirits.

After all, a promise is worth its weight in gold, so Julius could only ept this loss in silence.

Who had he been to dere that if she wasn’t scared, he wouldn’t drive her away?

He had thought that by killing more than thirty people in one fell swoop, he could scare this youngdy from a wealthy family.

Who knew that she wouldn’t take it seriously at all!

Soon, the car arrived at the entrance to the mansion.

Aron Jackson yawned, looking very sleepy as he said to Julius, “Boss, I’m going to go back to sleep. Call me if anythinges up.”

    “Go ahead!”

Julius waved his hand and got out of the car.

It was already past five o’clock, and it was still pitch dark outside.

To ensure Julius’s safety, Aron Jackson had arrived at the mansion entrance early and mobilized arge number of employees to closely monitor everything around them.

Now that the task was done, he was really tired.

After returning to his room, Julius tiptoed back to his own room.

Behind him, Sophia Leocadia was also walking lightly, intending to go back to sleep.

    ng!

Just then, the sound of something dropping on the floor startled them!

“Oh, Julius! You’re up so early, did you go out to buy us breakfast? But it’s Minor New Year’s Day today, aren’t we supposed to eat dumplings?”

Anna Harris came out of the bathroom with a toothbrush in her mouth and her toothpaste cup falling to the floor.

Seeing the two of them, she eximed even more in surprise, “The two of you… did you go to a hotelst night?”

She walked up to Julius and muttered angrily, “Julius, you’re such a beast! She’s just a young girl, how could you! Aren’t you afraid of being struck by lightning?”

    “Shush!”

Julius made a silencing gesture, pointing toward Que Radcliffe’s room, “What’s gotten into you, getting up so early? Don’t wake up Que with your noise!”

Anna Harris was notoriouslyzy, usually not getting up until eight or nine o’clock when she lived with them.

Now it was winter, and it was still dark at five in the morning. Why was Anna Harris up so early?

    This didn’t make sense!

    “Ha!”

Anna Harris took the toothbrush out of her mouth and scoffed at Julius, “What? Caught in the act and you’re afraid to speak up, worried your wife will hear? Julius, you really are such a good man!”

“What nonsense are you talking about? Anna, I warn you, don’t spout nonsense! Sophia only had a fever; I took her to the emergency room to see a doctor, that’s all.”

For Julius, it was like getting caught with mud in his pants — guilty even if innocent.

Coming back with Sophia Leocadia in the middle of the night and running into someone. How could he exin that?

    Anyone would be suspicious.

Que was still sleeping; he just hoped that Anna would keep her big mouth shut.

    And not cause amotion.

“What, you’re going to kill to silence me? Come at me!”

Anna stood on tiptoe, pointing to her own neck, “Okay, Julius, so you’re getting angry? You’ve been caught red-handed and you still have the nerve to argue!”

She closed her eyes, adopting a resigned-to-fate expression.

“Um, I felt a bit feverish in the middle of the night, and I didn’t want to disturb you all, so I looked for Julius — after all, he’s the only man in the house. Miss Anna, you’ve misunderstood.”

Sophia Leocadia joined in with a helplessly patient exnation.

She knew that at this moment, she absolutely couldn’t damage the rtionship between Julius and Que.

As a woman herself, Sophia could see that Julius only had feelings for Que and wasn’t ready to make room for anyone else.

A smart woman knows how to please a man, not threaten him.

“Hmph! Whether fever was there or not, who knows?”

Though deeply annoyed inside, Anna knew that Sophia had helped Dempsey Davenport, so she had to restrain herself somewhat.

If it had been someone else, Anna would’ve pped them and driven them out!

“Anna, you’re just a crazy woman!”

    Julius muttered softly.

Although he was indeed at fault, he had never actually done anything to betray Que’s trust.

Now with Anna implicating him like this, it seemed as though he hadmitted a heinous crime!

    “Scumbag! Ptui!”

Anna Harris spat a mouthful of toothpaste foam onto the ground.

    “What’s wrong?”

Just then, the door of Que Radcliffe’s room slowly opened.

Que Radcliffe, wearing a bear pajama, staggered out of her room, sleepy-eyed.

“Haha! Your man went out with another womante at night and only just got back.”

Anna Harris red at Julius Reed.

“Que, it’s not what you think…”

Sophia Leocadia said anxiously, “There’s really nothing between me and Boss Davenport. I just… I just ran a fever and asked him to take me to see a doctor, that’s all…”

She was very worried, given that she herself felt guilty about the matter.

If it were any other woman going outte at night with her husband, she’d be willing to grab a kitchen knife.

    “It’s fine.”

Que smiled, walked over, looked at Sophia Leocadia with concern, and asked, “Are you ok? We have some fever medication at home, you can use it for now.”

    “No… I’m fine now, sister.”

Sophia Leocadia’s face turned red, feeling deeply ashamed and lowered her head.

The kinder Que acted, the more it troubled her conscience.

But could she really give up?

After pursuing for over a decade, now that she had finally met him, she couldn’t bear to let go!

“Julius, Anna is about to leave,e back to bed with me. It’s so cold outside, I’ve warmed up the bed for you.”

Que turned and looked at Julius Reed, saying words that made her own heart race.

But there was no choice, she couldn’t let her husband end up with someone else.

    “Ah…”

    Julius Reed froze.

Almost four years into their marriage, this was the first time Que had been so proactive.

    “That… Que, I didn’t mean… I wasn’t nning on…”

    “You’re going out for work!”

Anna Harris hadn’t finished her sentence when Que and Julius Reed spoke in unison.

“Got it! I was nning to go down and buy some snacks for everyone! I wish you… a speedy delivery of a healthy baby!”

Anna Harris sighed in resignation, indeed putting love before friendship!

    “Husband,e with me!”

Que gently helped Julius Reed take off his jacket, took his hand, and walked towards the room.

    Afterwards.

With a bang, the door was closed.

“Wife, listen to me exin, I definitely didn’t…”

    “I believe you.”

Que hugged him tightly and whispered, “But, you must never betray me.”

    “Ah…”

Julius Reed’s head buzzed at the thought.

    Is this…

    Herying down the cards?

Almost four years into their marriage, Que had finally epted him as her husband!

    “I won’t, I swear to heaven!”

Julius Reed raised a hand but was stopped by Que: “Let’s just go to bed.”

She pulled Julius Reed to the window and as she dove under the covers, her cheeks reddened like apples.

    Que was ready.

Whatever Julius Reed was going to do, she wouldn’t refuse.

    “Hehe! Wife, I’ming!”

Julius Reed burrowed into the bed, relishing the moment.

Ever since Anna Harris moved in, he didn’t get pampered like this.

But Que waited for a while and saw no move from Julius Reed.

Just as she was about to turn around, she heard a faint snoring sound next to her ear.
