Chapter 1468: Chapter 1468: Cupping Therapy
Preliminary judgment.
What Emperor Charlotte Grey referred to as the prison might have the ability to confuse and cloud the human mind.
Julius Reed even harbored an inconceivable thought.
Does this so-called prison truly exist?
Or, is there something unique about that ce that could induce hallucinations?
Creating the illusion of a prison beneath Demarco Mount?
“Do you think it’s just an illusion?” enor Wood’s voice rang out, as if she had read Julius Reed’s thoughts.
“How did you know?” Julius Reed was surprised upon hearing this.
Indeed, that was his exact suspicion.
“This thought isn’t one you alone possess.” enor Wood lifted her wine ss and filled it for herself.
After taking a small sip, she spoke leisurely, “The Sealing Pulse is rted to medicine. The reason I became Medicine King Valley’s gifted Medicine God was precisely because of the legacy of the Sealing Pulse. The simplest way to create hallucinations is through herbs. Many strange flowers and exotic grasses emit scents that can cause hallucinations.”
“But!”
enor Wood stared straight into Julius Reed’s eyes, “Illusions are born from the heart! What you envision can only stem from what you’ve experienced or witnessed. Without a basis of experience, such hallucinations cannot manifest. Coincidentally, both Emperor Charlotte Grey and the Martial Saint Crown Prince experienced identical illusions. Do you find that possible?”
“Indeed.”
Julius Reed nodded.
Illusions are born from the heart.
A thousand faces for a thousand minds.
Events you’ve never encountered cannot appear within hallucinations.
Just like Julius Reed, who once had no knowledge of what a woman’s touch felt like.
Yet ever since being drugged by Nangong, he often dreamt strange dreams.
Moreover, Emperor Charlotte Grey and his son did not visit the location together.
“Could it be that Swimming City contains such a ce?” Julius Reed turned to Gabriel Young, “With the Second Minister and the two rulers wielding great power in Swimming City, is it possible such a ce exists? Your ancestors should know—for instance, Swimming City’s prisons?”
“She isn’t necessary.” enor Wood interrupted Gabriel Young before she could speak, rising and walking towards the crystal hall’s door.
“The Sealing Pulse spent a century investigating every usible truth and theory, confirming them thoroughly.”
“And the result?” Julius Reed likewise stood up, standing shoulder to shoulder with enor Wood.
“The result is that Swimming City has no such ce—absolutely none!” enor Wood turned her head slightly, “A city of sin needs no prison. The Sealing Pulse once saw hand-drawn maps by Emperor Charlotte Grey, which perfectly matched those of the Martial Saint Crown Prince. A coincidence? Yet no one in Swimming City has seen it! Not even the Crown Prince’s brothers!”
“A real ce?” Julius Reed fell silent.
If that were true, the situation would be much worse.
Something real lurking beneath Demarco Mount for millennium—and he had never detected it?
Terrifying!
A chill ran down his spine!
“I heard that Leander Sylvan once told Pendleton, ‘Within ten years, trouble will surely arise, and Demarco Mount will undoubtedly see its reign overturned!’ Could she have been affected too? Or how did she know?”
When Julius Reed spoke again, his tone had already calmed.
No matter what was trapped inside that prison, he would never falter.
In his lifetime, Julius Reed had never tasted defeat!
Even atop the snowy summit, he had not lost!
In his memory, the mountain’s snow was dyed red.
Corpses strewn across the terrain.
Yet for reasons unknown, Grace River delivered that fatal strike!
“Leander? Leander might be different than what you think.” enor Wood chuckled softly, regaining her customaryposure, “When wepeted over medicine in Medicine King Valley back then, I indeed infused my life’s work into your body. However, for the medicinal effects to erupt gradually within you, I was entirely unaware. After all, at that time, I was already dead.”
“I do not believe she betrayed me. I don’t even believe that the drug was administered by Leander. Even though all evidence, without exception, points to her.” Julius Reed trusted his judgment, and his capabilities even more!
“Sometimes, I quite admire this confidence of yours.” enor Wood gazed at the Moon in the sky and sighed gently, “I’ve heard whispers that the drug was administered by someone close to you, yet it may not necessarily have been Leander. Have you heard? Leander took the Divine Dragon Tripod with the intention of assassinating Pendleton, the Alliance Hierarch.”
This event caused an uproar, one unbeknownst to Leander but well understood by enor Wood.
Back then, it was enor Wood who restrained the pursuing soldiers, allowing Leander to escape safely.
enor Wood witnessed Andrew attempting to assassinate the Hierarch firsthand.
“I’ve contemted this matter as well. Do you know what I think?” Julius Reed walked into the courtyard and sat on the stone chair.
“Isabe Warm is collecting the seven weapons in hopes of locating and destroying the prison? Seeking the Divine Dragon Tripod to clear the way for you against Pendleton?” enor Wood burst intoughter, “Am I right?”
“Correct.” Julius Reed nodded, “After all, a charming man will always attract women willing to do much for him.”
It was said in jest.
Among his four attendants, Julius Reed favored Isabe Warm the most.
On Demarco Mount, where the feared Sovereign resided, only Isabe Warm dared joke and y with him.
Julius Reed refused to believe that his trust would lead to betrayal.
“Isabe Warm’s statement back then could very well have been a lie.” enor Wood spoke words that were as shocking as ever: “At the time, Pendleton, the Alliance Hierarch, was eager to orchestrate a calcted assassination! The subsequent ripple effects were far beyond what you could imagine. Even the North Sea uprisings were a mere chess move from that time.”
“When Isabe Warm uttered such words, it’s highly likely that she was attempting to buy you time. Or perhaps trying to find a way to defuse the situation.”
enor Wood opened her palms and smiled faintly, “Of course, this is purely my conjecture. It holds no bearing on the truth—I hope it won’t cloud your judgment.”
“You… seem to have only returned to life recently. How do you know so much?” Julius Reed was intrigued.
Isabe Warm was in Swimming City; they’d even been in touch by phone.
Meeting her was just a matter of time.
He believed that the truth would soone to light.
On the other hand, enor Wood’s sudden shift in attitude was puzzling.
“The Valley Master of Medicine King Valley was the father of the Eagle and the previous Eagle Vein Holder. I once visited the now-ruined Medicine King Valley and found portions of documents. Coupled with the recollections of the Supreme Elder, I formted a bold theory.” enor Wood spoke with growing intrigue, “It’s highly possible the Eagle uncovered Leander’s secrets, leading to her silencing.”
“Why share so much with me?” Julius Reed felt his heart tighten!
The matter had grown even more convoluted.
“When we first arrived at Swimming City, you embedded a strand of Netherme within me. To be honest, it felt rather pleasant. First, to thank you. Second, would you perhaps…” enor Wood chuckled mischievously.
“I’m asking you for cupping therapy.” Julius Reed’s gaze sharpened as he stretched his hand, pulling the wine ss the two had used earlier from afar.
“This time, at the very least, your internal organs won’t suffer under the torment of extreme cold for a year!”
With that.
He abruptly tore off enor Wood’s clothing, pressing her down onto the stone table in the courtyard.
“Is this… a bit inappropriate?” enor Woody against the table, mortified!
From the angle of the crystal hall’s door, the scene appeared highly suggestive…
“What are you afraid of!”
Julius Reed lightly tapped the wine ss with his fingers, igniting a stream of Nethermes within the cup!
Whoosh!
He grasped the cup with both hands, pressing it firmly onto enor Wood’s back!
Dragging it downward!
The Nethermes sizzled incessantly as they battled against the icy chill!
At the crystal hall’s doorway.
Gabriel Young’s expression wasplex, tinged with sadness.
She turned around and began crying.
Why was the person she loved enamored with another man…
In front of everyone, could they not find a room?
The more she thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt!
Taking advantage of the moment when no one was paying attention, Gabriel Young quietly untied the leash of a fierce Tibetan mastiff.
