Chapter 1340: Chapter 1340: Calling for Reinforcements
“Fourth Master!”
Hearing the voice, two guards straightened their bodies and respectfully bent over.
The one speaking was none other than Geogre Four.
“Has Dney already gone inside?” At this moment, Geogre Four had already donned a bamboo hat to conceal the scars on his face.
Otherwise, being seen by these guards, how humiliating would that be?
If he encountered any big-mouthed bbermouth, and they spread the word about him getting beaten up, would Geogre Four still want to mix in the Nine Routes?
Once dignity is lost, it’s not easy to establish authority again.
In the event of Hagan Marsh meeting an untimely end in a hundred years—or an unexpected turn of events—who wouldpete for the leadership position of the Nine Routes?
“Replying to Fourth Master, Seventh Master…”
p!
Geogre Four stepped forward and pped the guard across the face.
“Call Dney ‘Seventh Master’ all you want when I’m not around, but if you dare say it to my face, don’t me me for flipping out!” His tone was filled with anger, and even more so with exasperation.
In terms of ability, although Dney was quite physically strong, he was no match for Geogre Four.
Otherwise, Dney would not have be the seventh adopted son of Hagan Marsh.
Yet today, things were unusual.
Geogre Four couldn’t eveny a finger on him before he was beaten to a sore and aching body.
“Replying to Fourth Master…” The pped guard, with a face full of grievance and noticing that Dney was no longer there, spoke tremblingly: “General Wilson… just took an Attendant into the military camp.”
“Good! Very good!”
Geogre Four snorted lightly.
It’s as if you didn’t take the road to heaven but instead barged into hell! Whye to the military camp of all ces?
One should know that in Hagan Marsh’s absence, the authority over the Nine Routes’ forces falls entirely into the hands of Nichs Pendleton.
Geogre Four had made up his mind to report to Nichs Pendleton that there was something wrong with Dney.
Once Nichs Pendleton personally intervenes, wouldn’t Dney reveal his true colors?
“If anyone dares to leak a word when I inquire about Dney’s affairs, don’t me me, Fourth Master, for being ruthless in my response!”
Before leaving, Geogre Four fiercely made his threat and then walked toward the interior of the military camp.
The so-called military camp is actually aplex of buildings.
Grandiose buildings.
The exterior walls built with red bricks are towering, topped with barbed wire fences.
At the entrance, there is a pitch-ck iron gate guarded by several men wearing straw raincoats.
In the very center of the buildingplex stands a pce, glittering in gold.
The pce, square in shape, isyered like a cake, rising to seven stories.
Each story is smaller than the one below it.
The first story measures thirty meters in length and width, while the seventh story is no more than ten meters across.
This pce is where Hagan Marsh normally resides, with the first three floors serving as office areas.
Starting from the fourth floor, it bes the private garden of this leader of the Nine Routes.
“Look at that, what does it resemble?” Julius Reed pointed to the central glittering pce.
“All the surrounding buildings are styled in a green color scheme, but this one stands out distinctly, glittering in gold. Presumably, this must be where themander of the Nine Routes lives.”
Lillian Tompson, with her exceptional intelligence, nced at the geometric cement of the buildings and guessed most of it.
“These people of the Nine Routes, I really don’t know what to say.” Julius Reed looked at the pce and joked, “Thest time I saw a simr structure was the Egyptian pyramids. However, that’s where dead people reside.”
“Hagan Marsh resides in a pyramid, and his adopted sons wear golden-rimmed Jade Pendants?” Lillian Tompson also couldn’t help but purse her lips and smile, “Indeed, like father, like son; they all belong to the same family.”
The two of them strolling around in the courtyard naturally attracted the attention of others.
“Your Holiness, aimlessly wandering around is not the solution,” said Lillian Tompson, feeling vaguely uneasy under the abnormal gazes of those around them.
Probably the uneasiness of having a guilty conscience.
“Walking around aimlessly is definitely not the solution,” said Julius Reed, stopping in his tracks and taking a look around.
Apart from the central glittering great hall, the rest of the buildings werergely indistinguishable from each other.
All of them are small buildings in dark green.
It is difficult to distinguish one ce from another.
“If I don’t go back to Dney’s room soon, I’m afraid it will arouse suspicion,” Lillian Tompson said anxiously.
But how to find it?
Looking around, the rooms all looked nearly identical.
They were only numbered, without names of the upants.
Asking rashly would definitely give the game away.
“Simple.” Just when Lillian Tompson was at her wits’ end, Julius Reed whispered in her ear, and her face instantly lit up with joy.
“You,e here!” she called to a minion who was moving some items.
“Me?” The minion looked around and, finding no one else, approached her.
“Seventh Master!”
Upon seeing the Jade Pendant at Julius Reed’s waist, he hastened to say cheerily, “Seventh Master, may I help you with anything? My poor eyes failed to recognize you.”
“Seventh Master recently went out and hurt his throat, and it’s inconvenient for him to speak,” Lillian Tompson said, holding the steel knife that hung from Julius Reed’s waist and handing it to the minion, “Take this to Seventh Master’s room! Seventh Master wishes to stroll around and will returnter.”
“Sure!”
The minion took the steel knife and asked with a smile, “Anything else you need, Seventh Master?”
Julius Reed said nothing but waved his hand, gesturing for him to leave.
“Right away!”
The minion turned and carefully hoisted the steel knife, walking towards the interior.
Lillian Tompson quickly followed, wanting to see which room exactly Dney was staying in.
Soon after, she tiptoed back and whispered into Julius Reed’s ear, “It’s at the very end, a small building with the number 007. But there’s a problem— we don’t have the key lock.”
“The lock is here.” Julius Reed tapped the Jade Pendant at his waist and gestured with his hand, “Let’s go inside to hide for a while; once it gets dark, we can investigate the secret of the Evergreen Vine nted on the Ninth Path.”
“This is the lock?”
Lillian Tompson was surprised, “Isn’t this a Jade Pendant?”
“Look!”
Julius Reed pointed to nearby.
A minion could be seen holding a Token up to a door.
The door opened instantaneously.
As expected, when the two reached the front door of the small building where Dney was staying, they found the minion waiting in front of the door with the steel knife.
“Seventh Master, I forgot to ask you for the key. I was worried about your belongings, so I waited here,” the minion said obsequiously.
Julius Reed nodded and waved his hand.
“If there is anything you need, justmand me, Seventh Master,” the thug handed the steel knife to Lillian Tompson and then quickly left as if he was smoke.
Click!
The moment the Jade Pendant touched the door control, it opened the door.
A group of women came into view.
Women wearing scant clothing looked at them with shocked expressions.
…
The Ninth Path’s camp, the golden building.
Third floor.
Thud!
“Enter.” Nichs Pendleton, who was browsing through documents in his office, spoke casually, “Speak if you have something to say.”
“Big brother, it’s me.”
After Geogre Four entered the room, he took off his hat, revealing a swollen face.
“Yikes, fourth brother, who did this to you?”
The ballpoint pen fell from Nichs Pendleton’s hand.
He swiftly stood up, went over to Geogre Four, and scrutinized him, speaking with a hint of dissatisfaction, “Just who was so bold! To darey a hand on you, fourth brother!”
“Big brother, being beaten is a minor issue. If any undesirables infiltrate our Ninth Path, that would be a disaster!” Geogre Four said righteously.
“Who!” Nichs Pendleton narrowed his eyes.
