Those present estimated Evander had been thrown back nearly a hundred feet.

After a moment of stunned silence in the grand banquet hall, everyone immediately stood up, lined up, and bowed deeply before Robin.

Caius was especially shaken, falling to his knees before Robin to apologize profusely for Evander’s <b>offense</b>.
Gyro Castle’s high–ranking officials and wealthy elites scrambled to get close to Robin<b>, </b><b>eager </b>to curry favor.
Establishing any connection with a leader from the Crownward Syndicate would be the greatest honor of their lives<b>. </b>
Some of them even dreamed of using this connection to climb the socialdder and break into the upper echelons of the Netheris<b>. </b>
But Robin simply waved them off, clearly uninterested in wasting words on their ttery.
Seeing this, Caius quickly said, “Ladies and gentlemen, the Master has just returned from a hunt in the Dark Woods and is quite exhausted. Please, take your seats. Once he’s had some wine and rest, if there’s time, perhaps we can arrange a formal audience.”
Once everyone returned to their seats, Caius bowed apologetically to Robin. “Master, I will make sure Evanderes to apologize and ept punishment for his offense<b>.” </b>
But Evander was already gone when he turned toward the banquet hall entrance.
Caius frowned deeply. He knew full well–Evander must have gone to the ck Faith Order to file aint.
To have one of their own publicly humiliated by a p was a disgrace the ck Faith Order had never suffered before.
A confrontation was now inevitable.
Still, Caius didn’t want to say it outright. He was curious to see how Robin would respond to the ck Faith Order’s impending challenge.
At the same time, he quietly began preparing to offer his own apology andpensation to the Bl. Faith Order.

Robin and Daphne wandered around Gyro Castle for the next few days, quietly gathering information about the Netheris’s Soul Capturing Technique.
But this remote little city offered few clues about such ancient, mystical techniques.
On the fifth day, Robin decided to epxlore more of the Netheris Domain.
They would still need to cross a dozen small nations and dozens of cities.
After packing their things that morning, they prepared to say farewell to Caius.
To their surprise, Caius was already waiting anxiously outside the inn. “Master, Evander has returned with the four guardians of the ck Faith Order demanding an exnation.”
Rosha had 28 castles under its rule–more than half of them under the ck Faith Order’s control.
Even the castle lords held no weight before the ck Faith’s guardians.
Not even the highest local authority could shield you if you offended the ck Faith Order.
“Master,” Caius said with a bitter shake of the head, “I fear this matter may have gotten out of hand.
“If you could present the Crownward Syndicate’s official seal, it might be enough to deter the enforcers from the ck Faith Order.
“But if you happened to leave it behind, I’m afraid this could be a serious problem.
“Perhaps, could you reach out to the nearby leader of the Dark Syndicate near Rosha? Even a letter bearing the creed would help.
“So long as you have an identity token or seal to prove your status, the ck Faith Order’s four guardians would not dare act against you.”
Robin let out a coldugh. “You’re seriously rattled over a measly ck Faith Order?
“Where is this so–called guardian? Lead the way. I’d like to <b>see </b>what kind of second–rate fool darese knocking.”
Caius could only bow his head and lead them forward.
At that moment, in a clearing across from the inn, a crowd of kneelingmoners had gathered, hoping to greet the arriving envoys.
The arrival of the ck Faith Order’s guardians was a moment of divine honor for <b>the </b><b>lowest </b><b>ss </b>of Gyro Castle.

Each person held what little valuable possessions they had–meager offerings of food <i>or </i>trinkets–high above their heads, praying the guardians might bless them in return.
But when Caius and Robin arrived, the expressions of reverence on the crowd’s faces twisted into fury<b>. </b>
Each gaze thatnded on Robin and Daphne burned with outrage.
Earlier, Evander had told the people that these two were impostors who had dared offend the ck Faith Order–the very embodiment of the divine in the eyes of Gyro Castle’smon folk.
And once that usation spread, the crowd reacted as if Robin and Daphne had murdered their own
parents.
The ck Faith Order was their one hope for salvation in the next life. To them, it was sacred and untouchable.
They lived their whole lives on their knees, praying and groveling for even the illusion of grace.
Daphne watched the scene unfold, feeling a mixture of disbelief and sorrow.
The ck Faith Order bled these people dry, grinding them into the dust under false promises and blind devotion.
And yet, none of them were forced into it–why did they still thank their oppressors?
Why were they willing to die for them?
Robin looked around at the sea of kneeling bodies and gave a cold smirk. These people have been indoctrinated since the age of five. “The Dark Syndicate’s baptism poisons their minds early, nting the belief that suffering and servitude are holy.
“It’s be their truth. If they don’t bow, if they stop worshipping, they feel lost.
“To them, the Dark Syndicate is their only hope–for redemption, for elevation in the next life.
“The Syndicate dangles a dream of paradise in the afterlife, and they spend this life crawling through the dirt to earn it.
“That’s why they kneel.”
By now, the crowd in front of the inn had swelled. Alongside the kneelingmoners, all Gyro Castle’s officials, nobles, and merchant elites had assembled in full dress, lining up in reverent silence. They were all here to wee the ck Faith Order’s four guardians.
Caius stepped forward quickly and bowed deeply. “Honored Guardians, on behalf of the people of Gyro Castle, I wee you all.”
Robin’s eyes flicked to the four figures seated atop strange beasts–each d in pitch–ck robes and veiled hats, their expressions stony and unreadable.
Their attire was nearly identical to that of the Dark Syndicate, save for one detail–the embroidered emblem of the ck Faith Order stitched at their cors.
“Caius!”
