Chapter 69: Maxwell’s Real Identity

    Chapter 69: Maxwell’s Real Identity

As Maxwell left the office, Greta crossed her arms before her chest and asked with an attractive voice

while watching Maxwell left with angry eyes, “What’s wrong?” Melissa glimpsed at her who was still in

rage and whispered, “There’s a client who’s not made an appointment beforehand and he wants to see

    you.”

“And who’s that?” Greta wrinkled her eyebrows. Not understanding why, being disturbed by Melissa

this time had caused a rare fluctuation in her emotions and she was filled with anger. “The client said…

he’s your family.” Hesitancy was seen from Melissa who had an angelic look and she spoke uncannily.

“Family?” Greta raised one of her eyebrows and pondered for a while. She frowned upon remembering

it. “I got it, go mind your business now.” After shoving Melissa off, she walked towards the French

window while on her high heels and looked towards a couple of ck cars parked in front of the

Sandoval Tower. There was a mixed expression on her delicate face.

Meanwhile, as Melissa had just walked a few steps out of the office, she heard someone speaking

frivolously behind her. “So what did Miss Lloyd say to President Sandoval just now? Hmm?” Melissa

jolted to a halt. She turned around and saw Maxwell leaning against the wall with a cigarette in his

mouth. “Mr. Kirk, thepany has stated that it is forbidden to smoke inside.” The pungent smell of the

smoke dispersed and Melissa frowned, covering her nose and mouth.

“Thepany’s rule may work for you, but not for me.” Maxwell curled his lip and came close to her in

the face. He asked with a grin, “So what’s going on? Melissa.”

“There’s a gang of people outside thepany, insisting to see President Sandoval, and they don’t

seem friendly,” Melissa nced at her surrounding and lowered her voice. “Not friendly?” Maxwell

pulled down his face and a profound look shed across his face. “I got it. Miss Lloyd, the perfume

you’re using…has a pleasant smell,” Maxwell headed towards the lift and after a few steps, he

    suddenly stopped and said abstrusely.

“Oh…” Melissa’s face with an innocent look froze and she watched him left in a daze without being able

to respond for a long while. Her face only flushed at length.

Inside one of the ck cars in front of the Sandoval Tower sat Absalom and Andreas. Absalom was

both Alison and Cecilia’s way. Out of the blue, Alison suddenly raised her hand andnded a p on

one of the guards’ face. “How dare you stop me, you pathetic waste!” Alison chastised while the guards

were behaving in a jittery manner. Although they were still guarding the building’s entrance, the power

they disyed had very much dwindled.

“Yeah. We’ve already told you ourst name is Sandoval. It’s Sandoval, did you hear me? Tell Greta to

let you in.” The guards kept on apologizing yet due to their exceptionally high professionalism, they still

barred both Alison and Cecilia from entering the building.

Soon enough, crowds started to gather in front of the Sandoval Tower to watch the fun. After a flurry of

excitement among the noisy crowds, the people stood aside and a path was formed in between. A

dazzling figure was standing right at the end of the path and had sessfully attracted lots of attention

at the blink of an eye. Alison glimpsed at Greta’s curvy body and snorted, whispering to herself, “What

    a coquette.”

Greta approached them slowly and after throwing a nce at Alison and Cecilia, she asked, “What’s

    going on?”

“Greta, we’vee all the way here for you.” Absalom finally stepped out of the ck car and walked

towards her. “Why is grandpa bringing so many people here to my workce?” Although Greta seemed

to be much relieved, she still did not let down her guard. These people were looking to amalgamate the

Sandoval Group earlier, therefore they would certainly be up to no good when they came here at this

period of time. The Sandoval Group was established by her and Derrick single-handedly and they had

sacrificed much blood and sweat for it, therefore she would certainly refuse to hand it over to anyone

    else.

“It’s inappropriate to talk about it here.” Absalom nced at his surrounding. Greta then glimpsed at the

crowds and said, “There’s a conference room inside thepany, let’s talk about it there.”

After entering the conference room, Absalom looked around and smiled. “Greta, where’s Mr. Kirk?”

Greta poured a cup of tea for him and said sourly, “I have no idea where he’s been. Grandpa, just call

him by his name, you don’t have to call him Mr. Kirk.” She then whispered.

Absalom shook his head. How would Greta know the reason he was being deferential towards

Maxwell. If she knew little about it, she would not treat Maxwell with that attitude. “Greta, you’re still a

child, and there’s a lot of things you don’t know.” He spoke slowly. “This time, we’reing for Mr.

    Kirk.”

“Still for what happened during the treatment earlier?” Greta crossed her arms before her chest and

wrinkled her eyebrows. Absalom nodded and she fell into silence. She bit her lip and could not wait to

chop Maxwell into pieces. If he had not shown off earlier, this kind of thing would not happen.

“Greta, could you let hime back?” Absalom asked. Greta shook her head and there was

determination in her eyes. “Grandpa, scold me if you want to release your anger.”

“Scold you?” Absalom was taken aback by her words. “Why should I scold you? I even want to praise

you. If it’s not because of you trying your best to change the situation, the Bole family would be

    N?velDrama.Org (C) content.

    doomed!”

“Praise?” Greta was startled. She who used to be smart could not respond at all at the moment. Why

did Absalom even wanted to praise him? “We didn’t try to change the situation, have you

misunderstood something? Grandpa.” She retorted with a surprised look.

“No, I haven’t. If not for Mr. Kirk’s prescription, Lennon Bole would not be able to survive at all.” He

paused and continued. “Greta, you and Mr. Kirk have been a big help. Without you, Lennon would still

    not trust me.”

Greta was in aplete daze. She had kept on criticizing Maxwell along the way back then to want

him to understand his own capability. She scolded him for pretending to know medication when he did

not. Yet Absalom was now telling her that for an illness that could not even be cured by countless top

professional doctors, Maxwell’s casual prescription had sessfully saved Lennon’s life! It turned out

that the one who actually did that was not Absalom nor Andreas, but an insignificant live-in son-inw

    of the Sandoval family!

Greta could not believe it no matter how. Everything seemed so unreal and she felt herself slightly

dizzy. “You’re telling me that it was Maxwell’s prescription that saves Lennon Bole’s life? And he

actually knows how to treat people?” she stared at Absalom in disbelief and asked.

Absalom nodded with a smile on his face. “To be able to prescribe medicine that could save people, it

couldn’t be that he knew nothing at all. The purpose of meing here is to firstly convey Lennon’s

message and secondly to talk to Mr. Kirk alone.” Greta’s face rxed and she said, “Please wait, I’ll

    ask him toe over now.”

Greta lowered her head and sent a message. With just a short while, a head popped out from the

outside of the conference room and Maxwell showed up before her, asking affectionately, “Is there

anything I can do for you? Greta.”

“You actually know how to treat people?” Greta locked her eyes on him and asked out of the blue.

Maxwell’s heart leapt and he nced at the members of the Sandoval family in the room. He then

smiled awkwardly. “No, I don’t. It’s just that an old Chinese doctor I knew before has treated a simr

illness and I remember the prescription…I was only trying my luck…”

“If you don’t know medication, how could you remember the prescription with just a single nce?”

Greta tossed him an icy look. She would not believe if he said he did not know medication. “I was only

perfecting the prescription, I’m not the one prescribe it in the first ce.” Maxwell retorted indifferently

    without hesitant.

Both Alison and Cecilia heaved a sigh of relief and a load was taken off their mind. They were worried

that Maxwell actually knew medication. If he did, they would not be able to keep their status and stay in

the Ocean City any longer due to shame! Luckily that fellow did not. “See, I knew a driver like him won’t

know medication.” Alison sneered. “He should already be grateful to drive well, he’s no match against

something profound like medication. But also due to his good luck, he’s identally cured the illness,

or else…the Sandoval family would lose face today!” Cecilia chimed in.

Absalom waved his hand, gesturing everyone to leave the room. Even Greta was asked to leave too.

“Mr. Kirk, would it be possible to tell me, your real identity?” He suddenly put up a stern look and stared

at Maxwell. Maxwell’s heart leapt and his eyes towards Absalom were still obscure.
