Chapter 1040 Put Himself Into Trouble
The middle-aged man was possessed by anger and disappointment as he heard the dirty affairs of his
son.
Looking at his father, Fiy was still unclear about what was going on, and the only thing that he knew
currently was that his father was talking to something on the phone in an exceptionally serious tone.
The middle-aged man offered a few affirmative promises on this thing, and then hung off the phone.
Fiy smiled sardonically, "So, is there anything the one on the phone can do for that fool?"
"Do you know who that is?" Asked the middle-aged man in a cold tone.
Regardless of the serious and angry expression on his father''s face, Fiy curled his lips and
continued, "Well, I guess that one is just another nobody. Who else could this little poor guy call for
help?"
Hearing that, in disappointment, the middle-aged man pped his son hard.
Fiy was almost knocked down by the strike of his father.
In astonishment, he looked at his father in bewilderment, "Why you do that to me, dad? I have done
nothing wrong!"
The middle-aged man hummed, "The one who called in was Chief Carr. He already knew the whole
thing. What''s more, he has also told me something really astonishing — have you been willfully
neglecting your duty, receiving others'' bribes, releasing criminals without permission and fabricating
guilt of this young man?"
In silence, Fiy was stunned to hear that Chief Carr would spare no effort to dig out his little secret
merely for an ordinary man.
Seeing the panic-stricken face of his son, in disappointment, the middle-aged man could tell that what
Chief Carr told him was all true. He then said, "You have failed my trust for you, son. Shame on you!"
Fiy, daring not to retort to his father, was shattered to suppress his furious abhorrence for
Maximilian, the man who had pushed him into such a dilemma.
"I know it''s my fault, dad. But we are in the same boat now! How about we just simply send this guy to
prison, and then tell Chief Carr that we have freed him? Since he is in H city, while we''re in W city."
Fiy wrung his hands and smiled awkwardly.
Fiy''s incorrigibility had sessfully irritated his father. The middle-aged man offered a grimugh
and said, "Shut up, you incorrigible and unregenerate idiot!"
Embarrassed, Fiy had no choice but to offer a murmur and shut up.
Grimly, the middle-aged man continued in a serious tone, "Just release that young man quickly, or both
of us will definitely be doomed!"
"Come on, dad! You''re being too serious about that!" Said Fiy.
In rage, the middle-aged man once again raised his palm high above his head, and was about to give
his son another p. Fiy was frightened and hastened to release Maximilian.
Though he was not so pleased to set Maximilian free, he had no other choices.
Gritting his teeth, Fiy reluctantly unlocked the door and set Maximilian free.
Maximilian smiled, "What''re you doing that for? I just n to stay inside for a little longer."
At that moment, the middle-aged man heard his phone ring — again, Chief Carr was calling in.
Chief Carr said if after ten minutes he didn''t hear from Maximilian via phone, he would demote the
middle-aged man without any hesitation.
Taking a deep breath, the middle-aged man dared not to trifle with Chief Carr''s order, and coaxed
Maximilian exhaustedly, "Please, show some mercy, Mr. Lee! Just leave here!"
As he begged Maximilian to leave, the middle-aged man also gave a kick to his futile son. Stunned by
his father, Fiy shuddered and dared not to say anything under the circumstances.

He tried his best to stay calm, since it was meaningless for him to panic.
"Save it, and I''m not going anywhere! Isn''t that the one who originally forced me to stay here is you
guys?" Maximilian said inly.
Then, Fiy had no choice but to p his own face and said, "It''s all my fault, Mr. Lee! I shouldn''t have
listened to the Berry Family and stood against you!"
"By the way, how are you guys going to make up for the wasted time of mine?" Maximilian asked with a
spurious smile.
No matter how excessive it would be, Fiy had already well prepared for any of Maximilian''s
requirements.
"I understand, Mr. Lee! Just tell me what you want, and I will do my best to get it done!" Fiy ttered.
The middle-aged man gave his son a nk look, and thought that he waspletely an incorrigible
waste of futility.
"Fine, then bring me Caleb here, and detain him for a couple of days." answered Maximilian, who had
decided to give the ignorant young man a taste of his own medicine.
Hearing that, Fiy was at the moment dilemmatic to give Maximilian his words, since even though h
While Maximilian had no time to waste bargaining with Fiy on that. He then cruelly said with ice-cold
eyes fixe on Fiy, "Are you going to do it or not? If you are not going to ept my proposal, I won''t
mind telling Chief Carr the whole story of our two in detail and, you know, with embellishment."
Fiy couldn''t help twitching his lips out of anger and fear, and didn''t know how to deal with
Maximilian''s threatening.
Seeing that his son was stunned and remained silent, the middle-aged man gave him a kick again and
shouted, "Do what you''re told, you stupid dumb ass!"
