Chapter 663 Pick Up the Call
Maximilian knew well what the stall keeper meant. If he was a man who knew little about jade, he might
be fooled by the stall keeper. Even if he tried hard to bargain, the price would not change much.
If this man knew this industry well like Maximilian, there would be some room for negotiation and finally
they would reach an agreement.
Since the stall keeper knew Maximilian was not a rookie, he gave up the idea of taking advantage of

and this was one of it.
And some would even use vague size terms as small, middle, big to refer to ranges of price. For
instance, small meant the numbers of 1 to 3; five meant 5 digits. So a small-five referred to the range
between 10 thousand and 30 thousand.
This was once an argot in ancient time, but it gradually became a popr way of bargaining.
“100. Friend, that’s quite a generous discount.”
The stall keeper gritted as if he was in great pain.
Maximilian shook his head and said, “That’s enough. As it can produce is 3 million in value at most. If
anything goes wrong in the process, the profit might be even less. If thebor and marketing expense
are excluded, I might even suffer a loss.”
“You can’t be so pessimistic. This is the finest material, and will be very productive. Give me 150 and
you can take it.”
While the stall keeper was speaking, a man who wore a pair of ck-framed sses came over and
took a look at the jade. “This one is worth 1.5 million dors?” He asked while shaking his head.
Maximilian cast a glimpse of this man and said casually, “We’re negotiating the price. Can you look at
other stones?”
“Why should I listen to you?” The middle-aged said with dissatisfaction.
Flora could not help saying with a cold face, “Because we’re here first. Don’t you see that we’re
reaching a deal? Why do you interrupt us?”
“Well, it means the deal is not done yet. So I can offer my price. Can you afford 1.5 million dors? I
can. Boss, I can give you 1.6 million for this stone.”
The stall keeper was surprised for a moment, and then a smile appeared on his face. “You seem to be
so straightforward. 1.6 million dors? I suppose I can...”
The stall keeper didn’t finish his sentence. Instead, he shot Maximilian a baffled nce, as if he was
asking Maximilian to raise his price.
The stall keeper liked this kind of scene the most, if he could get control of the tempo of the quarrel.
Before Maximilian could offer his price, Victoria spoke, “You think you are the only one who’s rich here?
We don’t even care about this small sum of money. 1.8 million dors!”
“1.8 million dors.”
Chester red at Victoria with a solemn face and looked at Maximilian, “Keep your woman quiet. Being
offensive might bring you trouble.”
“What trouble? You are the one who starts it. Why can’t we offer a higher price?” Maximilian said
seriously.
“Damn! You don’t know who I am? You can ask everyone in H City. I bet no one doesn’t know my
name!” Chester shouted.
Right after he finished his words, a staff trotted over with a smiling face.
“Master Chester, why didn’t you give us a notice before youe? We didn’t even wee you
properly.”
The staff came over once he recognized Chester.
“What happened? Is Master Chester interested in anything? You should give him the cost price. Don’t
enrage him.”
Maximilian sneered, “I don’t know this Master, and the price is not settled yet. Why should the stall
keeper sell it at the cost price to him? Does it mean that only this so-called master’s money matter?”
“Mind your tongue! Master Chester is a renowned jade sculptor in this city. His pieces are very
expensive. Only he can make the best use of this stone.” The staff member said hotly.
Chester stood straight and said with confidence, “Young Man, now you know who I am. Do you still
want this stone?”
“Why not? 1.9 million dors.”
Maximilian cast a nce at Chester, whose face was getting sour. Then he said, “I know many famous
jade sculptors and some of them are even my friends. But I’ve never met you. I don’t know where you
get this title.”
“You…you are insulting me!” Chester’s face reddened out of anger, as he pointed at Maximilian with his
fingers. It seemed that he wanted to kill Maximilian.
The staff member’s face also dimmed. “Master Chester is a true master. Now go somewhere else and
leave him with his matter.”
The stall keeper said unhappily, “Bro, it’s my right to decide to whom I shall sell my goods. You can’t
interfere. Now this friend and Master Chester are bidding and the one who offers the higher price will
get the stone.”
The staff member’s face changed due to embarrassment. Indeed, he could not decide how the stall
keeper should sell his goods. He was just bluffing because he worked here.
Chester looked at that jade and said with his head high, “2 million. Don’t get in my way this time. This
stone is very important to me. Mr. Jonathan, chairman of DK Investment Company and the most
powerful man in this city, asked me to make a jade statue for someone important to him. And this stone
is the perfect material for it.”
Maximilian could not help butughing when Chester mentioned Jonathan’s name.
“You really scare me. Call this chairman and tell him my name. I’m sure he will ask you to give it up.”
Chester’s face changed instantly. He stared at Maximilian for quite a while, and then he was sure he

Smiling, Maximilian took out his phone and called the chairman. He greeted Jonathan and told him
what happened.
Then Maximilian handed the phone to Chester, “Come on, Mr. Jonathan wants to talk to you over the
phone.”
