Chapter 274 Put Your Heart in the Tummy
Hearing Humphrey mentioning Connor, both Marcus and Laura looked at Humphrey.
“Humphrey, are you talking about the Connor in H city?” said Marcus seriously.
“Yes, that’s him. Connor was greeting this loser, and I felt something weird.” Humphrey said
straightforwardly.
Marcus and Laura’s facial expressions turned weird when they thought of Connor’s respectful manners
towards Maximilian in Hugo’s party.
Looking at their weird faces, Humphrey got puzzled, “Uncle, auntie, what is wrong?”
“Humphrey, you do not need to ask about this. Maximilian luckily did Connor a favor. He does not really
have much to do with Connor.” Marcus came up with an excuse. He did not really know their
rtionships clearly.
Since he did not know it well, there was no need to exin it. Otherwise, Humphrey might ask more
questions, then he might expose that farce in the party, which would be embarrassing.
Laura red at Maximilian and poked him at his forehead.
“You loser. Did you even unt Connor well? Why don’t you grab this rare opportunity to establish a
close tie with him?”
Looking at Laura’s attitude towards Maximilian, Humphrey decided not to continue asking, even though
he still had questions.
Moreover, judging from Laura’s attitude towards Maximilian, Humphrey assumed that Maximilian did
not have much to do with Connor. Maybe Connor just identally used Maximilian while he was trying
to threaten Frankie.
No matter what, Maximilian already got Frankie, Leon and the rest upset. There would be a nice show
waiting for Maximilian when this auction was over.
Humphrey red at Maximilian, and then said to Victoria, “Vic, tell me if there is anything you like.”
“I am not interested in anything here.” Victoria said coldly.
Laura unpleasantly touched Victoria with her elbow and murmured, “Why are you so silly? When
Humphrey gives you presents, you just take them.”
“Why would I take them if I do not need them?” Victoria said lightly.
Laura sighed, knowing that Victoria did not get her idea, so she did not want to continue wasting her
time talking.
As the auction started, it attracted everybody’s attention.

Leon was sitting in the front with the rest of his men. During the auction, they talked with each other,
then frequently raised the board for many jades.
After getting several jades, Leon said something to Samson, then thetter looked over at Maximilian
and gave him a middle finger, “Poor ass, raise your board.”
Immediately, all the bidders looked at their directions.
Under the stares, Marcus and Laura felt embarrassed.
“What’s going on? Humphrey?” asked Laura nervously.
Humphrey nced at Maximilian and smiled, “Auntie, your loser son-inw was great that he made the
boss of this city, Frankie knelt in front of him.”
Laura and Marcus’s faces immediately turned pale, while their hearts were filled with fear.
The Laura who got half her soul scared away started to punch Maximilian, “You fool, why are you so
good at looking for troubles? Did you even get to mess with someone here in this city?”
“Mom, calm down. It was Humphrey who was trying to get Maximilian into troubles, bringing those
people. Connor helped solve the problem already.” Victoria helped exin for Maximilian.
Marcus said with a gloomy face, “Humphrey, tell me, what happened?”
Humphrey chuckled awkwardly, “I was talking with some business partners when running into
Maximilian. Later, Maximilian upset them. I could not talk them out of the conflict, so the thing just
turned serious.”
“Bullshit.” Victoria angrily looked at Humphrey.
“How am I not talking bullshits? You can go and ask them directly. This loser also bet with them on the
qualities of the stones they each would choose.”
Humphrey said lightly, with an indifferent attitude.
Marcus pped the chair and red at Maximilian, “Nonsense! You dare to bet with them. How much
money do you even have for that!”
“Just get the cheapest one.” said Maximilian lightly.
“Have you even seen a gemstone yet? I checked all those stones earlier. The cheapest one was just a
normal stone. It could not have anything great inside! You are looking for troubles!” Marcus angrily
yelled.
Laura patted Marcus’ chest, helping him smooth his breath.
“Don’t get excited. It’s no worthy of ruining your body. This loser is looking for trouble himself, so just let
him be. It’ll be great if he died.”
Marcus closed his eyes, nodding, and said heavily, “We will not give you a cent, and we are not able to
help you on this either. You need to take the responsibility yourself. Victoria, you should not help him
either!”
Victoria felt bitter inside. She could not help him even if she wanted to.
Humphrey smiled, then patted Maximilian’s shoulder, “You did this to yourself. You think Connor was
really supporting you? He was just using you! However, if you chose to divorce Victoria yourself, I can
help with some nice talks for you, so you can die in a morefortable way.”
Maximilian smiled lightly, ignored Humphrey, and held Victoria’s hands, “Don’t be nervous, I will be
fine.”
“But, you can’t get the good ones, and they are going to get them. Those you can actually afford won’t
make you a winner.” Victoria said worriedly.
Humphrey said disdainfully, “You don’t need to worry about him, Vic. This loser’s death is good for
everybody, so it’s a good thing.”
Humphrey hated Maximilian with guts. If possible, he would kill him.
Laura went along, “This loser should die sooner. Having him here would only get us troubles.”
Victoria said to Maximilian, “How about we leave now? Or, you can contact Connor tomorrow.
Otherwise, something bad might really happen.”
“It’s fine. We can do that after something really happen.” said Maximilian lightly.
“Why are you so rebellious? It will bete if something really happens.” said Victoria worriedly.
