Chapter 644.2: Battle of the Gods (2)

There was a generalw in the Sia Continent that the older an existence was, the more powerful they were likely to be. It rang exceptionally true for the first generation of gods serving Sia.

Make no mistake—the spells of the present generation were much more refined than those in the past, since they were built on over time, simr to how technology advanced over the ages.

Even so, it was almost impossible for those from theter generations to surpass those from the previous generations in terms of sheer fighting prowess.

This was due to the change in the environment and scarcity of resources.

The first generation of gods serving Sia had been through the war between the saint beasts and the demonic beasts. That had been a devastating war that affected every corner of the world. Those who survived that cmity were the cream of the crop, the result of natural selection.

Simrly, the ancient era boasted the greatest amount of resources, except for the bleak years when the Mother Goddess and the Savior fought to be the ruler of the world. Naturally, an abundance of resources was necessary for a race to progress to great heights.

Peytra and Obezo were both beneficiaries of that era, and there was a period of time wherein they fought alongside each other against the demonic beasts. Yet, the two first-generation gods were now re-enacting the ancient war on thisnd.

On the prairie, the World Serpent lunged at its enemy with a body cloaked inva.

On the other hand, the massive dwarf charged forth with crackling lightning.

It was as if the two of them were the manifestations of natural disasters; they devastated their surroundings even before shing with each other. The moment their manas shed, the world shook.

    Boom!

The massive hammer harnessing cataclysmic lightning smashed into the World Serpent, giving rise to an impact so great that it cracked Peytra’s mountain-like body. Rock fragments that were the size of a grown human rained from the sky, forcing Roel to take evasive maneuvers.

Meanwhile, the Primordial Earth Goddess sunk its fangs into the giant dwarf. A crimson glow started spreading through Obezo’s body, as the infected bits of him melted intova and dribbled to the ground.

The battle between the Primordial Earth Goddess and the Dwarf Sovereign only continued to intensify from this point onward.

Obezo continued smashing his hammer into the mountain-like serpent, whereas Peytra was focused on melting the dwarf down.

Roel and Carolyn simultaneously retracted their gazes as they understood that the victor between the two ancient gods wouldn’t be decided anytime soon. However, Roel was more anxious than Carolyn.

He only had Grandar and Edavia left, as Artasia and Peytra were tied down by the Helios Venom Bird and Dwarf Sovereign Obezo respectively. While Grandar possessed overwhelming strength, and Edavia was a feared evil god, neither of them excelled in defense.

Roel didn’t have any powerful defensive means left under Carolyn’s relentless assault.

The biggest problem was that he didn’t know what other aces his ancestor had up her sleeves. He only had two options if she continuedunching attacks at the same level—either confront her head-on or flee from the scene.

Both options posed their own problems. Thetter was hardly an option at all, whereas the former was simply too dangerous.

The attack from the Helios Venom Bird was the perfect example of that. Alicia had to resort to the ck Moon in order to treat his injuries. That was also why Roel had no choice but to have Artasia ward off the golden light descending from the sky.

If Carolyn had more such attacks, Roel would have no choice but to retreat.

However, he would lose momentum if he retreated, not to mention that Carolyn could pull off powerful long-ranged attacks. Retreating would only put him at an even greater disadvantage. To ovee this problem, he decided to proactively attack instead.

    “cial Touch,” Roel murmured.

His voice was buried by the ongoing explosions in the background, but this move had a critical effect on the flow of the battle.

The sudden flood of frost aura had Carolyn narrowing her eyes cautiously.

On the other hand, Roel was surprised. It could have been due to his attainment of Origin Level 1, visiting the Six Cmities’ origin, or collecting all of the Crown’s Stones, but he felt very different using cial Touch this time around.

It was as if a water pump had been installed on his output, allowing him to draw out 30% more power from the Crown’s Stone with the same amount of mana. This incredible buff boosted his confidence.

He transformed his frost aura into spears that shot toward Carolyn from different directions. Wherever the spears passed, everything in their trajectory was encased in eternal frost. Even lightning and mes withered in their wake.

The frost spears were silent, but they advanced with unstoppable momentum.

Faced with such an attack, Carolyn raised her hand and manifested a massive silhouette out of faint light. It was hard to tell whether this silhouette was corporeal or not, but it was as huge as a mountain.

When the frost spears finally mmed into it, they dissipated without freezing anything at all. Carolyn, despite being confronted with so many frost spears, waspletely unharmed.

“How is this possible?!” Roel narrowed his eyes in disbelief.

At the same time, Edavia eximed in a shocked but grim voice, “Wait a moment… That is a Fiend Titan!”
