Chapter 635.1: Alicia’s Call for Help (1)

In the dark room, Roel stared at Alicia as his mindpletely nked out.
All along, he had rejected Alicia on the basis of her age. As someone who remembered his previous life, his mental age was much greater than hers, not to mention that he was physically two years older than her too.
Their age difference had made him subconsciously think that it would be wrong to harbor such intent toward her, but this problem was not a problem anymore.
“…”
The warmth being transmitted across their skin and the itch on his neck sent a jolt straight to Roel’s central nervous system. His heart began to race, and he hooked his arm around Alicia’s slim waist, locking her in ce.
Looking into her expectant eyes, Roel’s expression slowly changed.
“The problem regarding your age no longer exists.”
“Then there’s no reason for Lord Brother to shun me anymore, right?”
“Indeed,” Roel replied with a nod.
Alicia revealed a smile reminiscent of a gleeful little fox. Before proceeding to the next step of her n, she ced her finger on Roel’s chest and circted a tinge of her mana through his body. Momentster, her heart was finally fully put at ease, and her expression rxed.
Her inspection revealed that Roel’s condition had greatly improved. The only issue was that his soul was still weak and there was no good solution for it, but it wouldn’t impede what Alicia was going to do next.
As Alicia conducted his pre-nuptial screening, Roel suddenly spoke up. “I haven’t thanked you for treating me yet, Alicia. I’d have been in danger if not for your treatment. I am fine now.”
“Ah? Y-you’re wee.” Being so earnestly thanked when she had an ulterior motive in mind left Alicia feeling so conscience-stricken that her flow of mana halted. However, she quickly snapped out of it and replied, “It’s because of me that you got injured, Lord Brother. That attack was directed at me. You could have dodged it and…”
“What nonsense are you spouting? There’s no way I would have dodged that attack,” Roel said with a smile as he tightened his arm around Alicia’s waist. “You are important to me. It’d hurt me more to see the injuries being inflicted on you instead.”
“Lord Brother…”
Alicia stared at Roel before burying her head in his shoulder.
“I’m really happy to hear that, Lord Brother. I’m so happy that my heart is aching a little… but please never do that ever again.”
“Alicia?”
“I was so frightened when I saw you copse. My head went faint, and I couldn’t stop my tears at all. I have never felt that way before.”
“I’m sorry…” Roel apologized as he stroked Alicia’s hair.
However, Alicia didn’t n to forgive him that easily. “You’re always like that. You always apologize whenever I get angry at you, only to repeat the same thing again the next time…”
“I wouldn’t do that.”
“Lies. You told me a long time ago that you’d let me protect you, but those were just empty words to cajole me. You’d never tell me whenever you’re about to do something dangerous.”
“This…” Roel couldn’t refute those words.
Alicia red at him with a pout as she pressed on, “I’ll let whatever happened in the past slide since I was weak then, but now… Lord Brother, do you still think that I’m weak?”
“Of course not! ‘Weak’ is thest word I’d use to describe you,” Roel replied as he recalled the arduous battle he had with Alicia.
“That’s more like it.” Alicia revealed a triumphant smile as she made up her mind. “I’m strong enough to stand alongside Lord Brother now, so let’s ovee this crisis together.”
“This…”
“What’s wrong, Lord Brother? You look like you have something to say. Are you unable to trust me as yourrade, or do you see me as a burden who needs to be protected?”
“N-not at all! Definitely not!” Roel swiftly denied the usations, having sensed a threatening edge in her tone.
Alicia red at Roel for a long while before finally letting things rest, but before Roel could heave a sigh of relief, she pressed on with another issue, “There’s one more thing I forgot to ask you about.”
“What is it?”
“…Lord Brother, you said earlier that you harbored romantic feelings for me?”
“…That’s right,” Roel replied with a solemn nod.
His affirmation vanquished thest bit of Alicia’s fear, and her mind began churning to action. “Speaking of which, Lord Brother, don’t you think you should reward me?”
“Reward?”
“You said that you’re grateful to me for treating you. It’s quite tiring to control the ck Moon.”
“Then… what do you want?”
Alicia didn’t answer the question right away. She looked at Roel with sentimental eyes before she lightly rubbed her body against him while cing her finger on his chest. Redness slowly filled her face.
Roel widened his eyes in a fluster as he asked, “Alicia? Y-your reward…”
“Yes, Lord Brother. I have already thought things through… I want to have a baby.”
“!” Roel was dumbstruck.
Alicia sat upright and ced her hand on her tummy as she said, “Lord Brother, I am old enough for that now, right?”
“W-well, that’s true, but…”
“That’s all that matters. It’s time to expand the Ascart House.” Alicia leaned closer to Roel and gently nibbled on his ear as she continued, “Lord Brother, you should have known all along, even as a child, that this is the reason I have been by your side. That’s also the reason Lord Father acknowledged us… Won’t you help me fulfill my mission?”
“…”
Breathing in her fragrance and listening to her plea, Roel felt like a me had been ignited inside him. The final shred of his rationality sumbed.
Who could possibly withstand this?!
“I love you, Alicia.”
“I love you too, Lord Brother.”
After onest confirmation of their feelings, the two of them embraced each other as their shadows slowly fused into one.
…
