    Elsa said sharply, “You held a man hostage and threatened civil safety. This is the lowest form of

    Lenny nadded quietly at the words, tearing up, “It’s my fault, but I had no choice.”


    “We’re going easy on you because something else caused you to act the way you did. It’s a form of


    protection too,” Elsa said.


    Lenny was stunned for a moment before brightening up into a smile. “Are you going to arrest Kenji?”


    “That’s our business. It’s not something that you should be worrying about.” Elsa left the interrogation


    rooms and returned to


    her office.


    She sat at her desk for some time before calling for one of her team members. ‘Carl, form a tear for this


    case and investigate Kenji and Kenji Co. in secret. Remember to keep a low profile.”


    Carl frowned “Madam, you’ll need the raptain’s permission to form an investigation teams. We’re


    breaking the rules here.”


    Elsa stared at him. “I’ll take full responsibility if anything happens.”


    “Alright.” Carl nodded, then bowed and left the roun


    Elsa leaned back in her chair, absorbed in her own thoughts.

    Faye returned from work. She pushed the door open and saw Wilbur carrying a steaming dish out from


    the kitchen.


    “Wow, what a treat. You shouldn’t have, Boss!” Faye stuck out her tongue yfully.


    Wilbur smiled. “Come and eat.”

    Faye rushed upstairs. She re-emerged in a strappy nightgown that left little to the imagination. Wilbur


    looked away at once.


    The two of them began to eat. Faye said, “You really are something else, Boss”


    “Why do you say that?” Wilbur said, frowning


    Faye smiled. “You sent that text telling me to pause Cindy Vega’s job position at Woods Corporate, so I


    had someone look into her recent financial activity. Guess what I’ve found?”


    “What?” Wilbur asked.


    Faye said, “She abused her power as manager, went behind her department’s back, and wrote a check


    of one and a half million dors.”


    “My goodness! There really was something off about her.” Wilbur shook his head.


    Faye smiled. “It’s a good thing you found out in time. I froze the check before it could go through.”


    “Good job,” Wilbur said.


    Faye replied, “I’m curious, Boss. How did you know there was something wrong with Cindy?”
