Santiago’s expression turned solemn. His gaze flickered murderously with a faint aura forming around
his body.
Wilbur smirked, and a powerful unseen force formed around him, enveloping Santiago’s aura in no
time.
In the next moment, Santiago felt like he had plunged headfirst into icy waters. An overwhelming terror
washed over him, rendering him helpless.
Wilbur sneered and said, “Did you really think that you’re able to do something with your measly skill?”
Santiago was shocked. He had trained in some European martial arts and was quite skilled in them.
He had never witnessed such terrifying energy that was enough to make him lose all his powers in the
blink of an eye and make him feel such terror from within.
Wilbur said slowly, “Stop struggling. It’s not going to work. Come clean with what you were trying to get
from Cindy and surrender at once. You won’t be breaking too manyws just pretending to hold a
position in a global investment group. However, you will get in trouble if you try to fight back.”
The terror in his spirit made Santiago give up on fighting back entirely.
He said bitterly, “Fine. I’ll confess. I’vemitted too many crimes in Europe and couldn’t stay there.
anymore. That’s why I changed my identity and came to Dasha.”
“Why did you target Cindy?” Wilbur asked coldly.
Santiago said meekly, “It’s purely by chance. I snuck into Seechertown and pretended to be a higher-
up of a global investment group in a forum. Cindy reached out to me on her own.”
“And then you started courting her?”
“Yes.” Santiago lowered his head fearfully. “At first, I was just trying to find a ce to stay. But after I
found out that she was a higher-up at Woods Corporate.. I wanted to scam some money off her and
run
away.”
Wilbur sighed deeply.
Santiago merely made up some fake news on the inte, and someone like Cindy came crawling at
oncé.
The guy was only looking for some random girl he could live with for the time being.
But with Cindy’s position, he got the idea of scamming money off her.
Cindy herself had gone around bragging about how great this now man of hers was, thinking that she
had found the right man atst. What a tragedy!
Cindy stared at Santiago in shock and disbelief.
-A momentter, she stuttered, “R-Ricardo, are you s-serious? You were really Hying to me?”
Santiago lowered his head. “I’m sorry.”
Cindy broke down for good at that.
She got on her feet and pummeled Santiago with her hands wildly as she sobbed, “You liar! You dirty
cheat of a man! To hell with you! I gave you my body, and even had ten million dors ready to invest in
thatpany of yours. How dare you lie to me! You ba stard! You should be dead”
Cindy’s actions attracted the attention of those around them once again.

Upon seeing that, Nancy hurried to help Cindy back into her chair. “You didn’t give him the money, did
you?
“Not yet.” Cindy leaned against Nancy weakly, bursting into tears
Wilbur frowned. “Santiago, surrender yourself to the authorities. You’ll only be convicted for the scams
you were a part of. You won’t have to spend too much time in jail.”
Since he had exposed himself, Santiago made his mind up and nodded silently. “Yes, Sir. Il do as you
say.
“Get out of here,” Wilbur said coldly.
Just then, the terrifying pressure weighing down on Santiago’s aura finally disappeared.
Santiago heaved a heavy breath, feeling like he had been reborn. He bowed deeply to Wilbur, then
turned to leave.
Just then, Nancy said, “You’re letting him leave just like that? What if he tries to escape?”
Wilbur replied, “Don’t worry about that. I’ve left a spirit imprint on him. He’ll be screwed if he tries
anything at all.”
