Each participant hoped to avoid strong opponents when drawing lots since everyone who had made it that far was a formidable cultivator. When Wilbur drew his lot, he encountered the cultivator who had torn his previous opponent in half.
The cultivator''s name was Kaden, and he had the werewolf bloodline. He was 1.8 meters tall before his transformation, and he could reach three meters in his transformed state.
Kaden and Wilbur both reached their hands into the drawing tube and drew their lots. Kaden clenched his jaw and said, "Dude, you better pray that I''m not your match, or else I''ll kill you."
Wilbur chose to ignore the arrogant Kaden. Kaden had the bloodline of werewolves, butpared to the physically powerful Derek, Wilbur felt like Kaden was inferior to Derek. Therefore, he was not afraid.
Kaden expected Wilbur to beg for mercy, but much to his surprise, Wilbur was unbothered. Wilbur only looked at the number on his stick, which made Kaden feel disrespected. He said angrily, "I''ll tear you to pieces sooner orter!"
His outburst drew the attention of the surrounding cultivators, who all turned their heads to watch. Wilbur knew that Kaden was trying to provoke him, so he calmly showed his stick to Kaden instead of getting angry. He revealed the number and said, "I have number thirty-five."
"Damn it!" yelled Kaden.
Kaden clenched his jaw and looked at his stick. Then, he looked intrigued as heughed out loud. He said as heughed, "Haha, you''re so unlucky, dude. I have number six. It looks like we''ll be fighting each otherter."
ording to the rules of the tournament, number one would battle number forty, number two would battle number thirty-nine, et cetera. Therefore, the opponent Wilbur would face would be Kaden.
"Haha!"ughed Kaden arrogantly.
He said, "Dude if you apologize to me and Mister March now, I''ll kill you speedily in the battleter, so you won''t suffer."
Other cultivators would probably be scared out of their wits if their opponent was Kaden. However, Wilbur was not afraid of Kaden. Therefore, he only asked calmly, "Why should I apologize to you? I don''t think I need to. As for the Mister March you mentioned, he''s that unlucky guy who was cruel but crossed the line, right?"
"What? Damn you!" scolded Kaden.
He pointed at Wilbur, and he was speechless from anger. Wilbur helplessly shrugged and walked away. He did not want to speak to Kaden anymore until the battle began. Kaden saw himself as a ve to the March family, so he prioritized the March family.
Wilbur was afraid that someone like him could only be a servant no matter how powerful he was, and Wilbur looked down on servants. He believed that people should hold their dignity even during hard times.
A person without dignity could never be someone powerful.
Soon, the battle began after the arrangements were decided.
The remaining forty contestants were indeed experts with high cultivation skills. The first five matches were particrly intense, with each fightsting at least a quarter of an hour. The battles were fierce, resulting in two cultivators being beaten to death, while the three other defeated contestants were left with severe injuries.
It made Wilbur realize that he could not afford to show mercy no matter the
situation. Hesitating or being soft-hearted could lead to his demise in battle, after
all.
"Next up, let''s wee contestants number six and thirty-five to the arena for their match!" the host announced.
