Both announcements traveled around Buck Town pretty quickly, and it was not long before everyone was talking about what could have happened.
"Why would Lord Babbit and Lord Edmund go into isted cultivation at the same time?"
"What''s wrong with that? Everyone''s a cultivator here in Buck Town. Besides, Lord Babbit is cultivating for a year, and Lord Edmund is cultivating for just six months. They''ve got nothing to do with each other."
"But some members of the Dragon yer Organization were just killed, and Lord Edmund was said to be rted to the case. Why would he choose to cultivate at a time like this? Could he be hiding from the Dragon yer Organization?"
"I don''t think so, actually. Lord Edmund did the right thing. I heard that Hanson broke into the City Lord''s quarters with members of the organization in the middle of the night. That''s enough to get him killed already. I''m sure Lord Edmund''s doing this to send out a message to the cultivators of Buck Town that he''s the one who calls the shots here, and he''s just seeing things through."
"But what if the people from the Dragon yer Organization headquarters find out about this ande looking for him here?"
"Well, I''m sure Lord Edmund''s got nothing to fear if he has done nothing wrong. Besides, I heard that all nine City Lords had some issues with the Dragon yer Organization for a while now. Now that some members of the organization have broken into a City Lord''s quarters, it''s only going to add fuel to the fire if they stille looking."
The cultivators were abuzz with chatter and discussion, but no one actually knew the real reason behind Edmund''s cultivation. The members of the Dragon yer Organization waited for an entire day for Botani and Ardy toe back and knew that Edmund had killed them for sure when they did not show up at the end of the day. They quickly sent out members to headquarters to report the matter at once.
"What? Edmund humiliated my Dragon yer Organization and killed two of my strongest men!"
Dalton mmed a fist on the arm of his throne, flying to his feet with an ashen expression. "There''s a Dragon yer Organization in each major town, and all the cultivators know our name. Is Edmund trying to humiliate me? That bastard!"
Just then, Dino piped up from where he was standing. "Please calm down, Mister Dalton. From what I know, Patron Sivan detected the aura of a dragon n cultivator in Buck Town. Think about it. Why would Edmund kill twenty-two members of the Dragon yer Organization for nothing? You should be happy about this, Mister Dalton."
"Happy?"
Dalton frowned at Dino, who looked up at him with a nod. "Yes. This is good news. It proves that there is, indeed, a dragon n cultivator in Buck Town."
"Even if that is the case, Hanson and the others humiliated Edmund to no end. We wouldn''t exactly have a solid reason to go looking for Edmund, at least not now."
Frustration rose in Dalton''s chest upon hearing the words. After all, nothing like this had ever happened to the Dragon yer Organization in the past. Their reputation was bound to take a hit once the news went out, and Dalton himself was going to have to head to Buck Town to face Edmund eventually.
If they were dealing with a regr cultivator, the Dragon yer Organization was more than capable of taking them down. But Edmund was a City Lord, and he was not exactly at fault here. Attacking him might result in something much, much worse.
Dino interjected, "No, Mister Dalton. You can''t question Lord Edmund if you''re going to Buck Town. In fact, that''s the worst thing you could do."
