Wilbur jogged after Frank, following him all the way to the pier. The wavespped at the shores, and Wilbur pursed his lips before saying, "You know, sir, you shouldn''t be too sad. I believe you. Maybe we can find some other way to force the Night Demon out of you."
Frank shook his head, frowning at the water. "No, no. I never med my parents. I think they''ve been the best parents I could ever wish for. Maybe this really is just written in the stars for me. Everyone else is already married with children at my age, and I''m stuck all by myself. They''re right, you know. If sacrificing me can save all the other vigers, I''m willing to do it. No one may remember me in the future, but at least I can say I did something for my vige."
Frank turned to face Wilbur, spreading his arms. "Come on, kill me. Since the Night Demon''s in my body, it''ll die if I die. I''d rather have this put to an end than have to live the rest of my life in fear. This isn''t that bad for me, you know? We all die with some regrets anyway."
Wilbur, who was doing his utmost to keep his cool, stared at Frank and asked, "Why? Do you think you should sacrifice yourself to save those vigers?"
"I don''t have any other choice, young man. Come on, let''s get it over with." Frank closed his eyes.
Wilbur was livid. Frank was a good man, and it was absolutely unfair that he was going to die over these people who hardly even cared about him.
Taking a deep breath, Wilbur said, "Sir, I can''t actually guarantee that the Night Demon will die along with you after I kill you. You saw what happened just now, right? The golden dragon swallowed Pen''s son and exploded, killing him, but the Night Demon was still perfectly fine."
Frank opened his eyes. "Well, do you have another way?"
"I think I could maybey down a formation to force him out."
"A formation?" Frank looked confused.
"Yes."
"Sure, whatever. I have but one request. We have to get as far away from the vige as possible so that the other vigers won''t get hurt," Frank replied.
"Alright. I can do that," Wilbur agreed to his request.
He then led Frank to a beach far away from the vige. Upon checking his surroundings, Wilbur got to workying down the formation. His master, Orkot, had once taught him a brilliant formation called the Dragon Trap Formation. The Dragon Trap Formation, contrary to its name, was not actually a formation used to trap dragons. Orkot had said before that there were thousands of different ns in the universe, and the dragon n was the most powerful of them all. That was because the dragon n was blessed with powerful willpower. They would never bow down to any other ns, which had done so in the past. There were even some ns that had special evil sorcery to control others, even capable of controlling their victims'' spirits and consciousness.
To prevent this from happening to their n, the elders of the dragon n came up with the Dragon Trap Formation together.
The Dragon Trap Formation targeted the spirit and consciousness by splitting it into different categories. It would then strip the enemy of spirit senses that did not belong to their original form. This followed the theory of cultivators having a strong sense of control over their willpower.
If a cultivator''s will was not strong enough, he would not be able to pass through the Dragon Trap Formation and even have his body taken from him. However, this was something that would never happen to anyone from the dragon n, as each n member had a strong will.
The truth was that Wilbur knew very well that the Dragon Trap Formation would not mean anything to a mortal like Frank since a mortal''s will was nothingpared to that of a cultivator. The reason why Wilbur had chosen to use the Dragon Trap Formation was that he found the whole situation terribly unfair and wanted to do something about it.
