Chapter 2422

In the next three days, Wilbur continued to bring in a far bigger catchpared to the other beacbers. He was getting two thousand Skermann dors every day, and after five days, he finally took the innkeeper''s advice and got himself a personal room.

The room was far from luxurious, but it was certainly clean enough and he had it all to himself. Wilbur was at least able to get some rest earlier with his own room.

However, this did not happen as he would spend his nights thinking about how he was going to take care of the war-ridden nature of Burd Bay. Kortlin had said that if the wars were not put to rest within three months, Earth would never stand a chance against the Dark Lord.

The problem was that Wilbur did not know what he had to do to put an end to the

    wars.

It would take finding out the root of all the wars to stop them, and Wilbur had been asking around for news in the past few days. He found out that the wars in Burd Bay were caused by an organization that practically controlled all the small countries across the coast- the Church of Holy Illuminati.

No one knew the real reason behind the church instigating all these wars, and Wilbur was rather confused as well. Of course, it was not hard to deduce that the aim of a war was to nt evil thoughts in the people''s minds, and those evil thoughts were the key to usurping good thoughts.

Aisha, the ck Bishop of the church, had sacrificed her soul to the evil god Bahamut. It was likely that the Church of Holy Illuminati had pledged their loyalty to the evil gods, and the Pope had sacrificed his soul just like Aisha had.

The Pope of the Church of Holy Illuminati had be a puppet of the evil gods, so it was only natural for him to wreak havoc across Burd Bay. That was how the people would develop more and more evil thoughts in their heads, which was a special form of contribution to the evil gods.

Wilbur believed that there were pros and cons to the Church of Holy Illuminati controlling the wars across Burd Bay. It was good that the wars were controble, as Wilbur was pretty sure that they woulde to an end with an order from the church.

The downside was that there were many powerful cultivators in the Church of Holy Illuminati, and it would be quite difficult to deal with them. Even if Wilbur were to do so, the Pope might still refuse to listen to him.

There was also the fact that the Pope of the Church of Holy Illuminati had really sacrificed his soul to the evil gods, which proved that there was a special connection between the Church of Holy Illuminati and Light Valley.

The Church of Holy Illuminati could very well choose to cut off their loyalty to Light Valley in the future. If that were to happen, a battle between the Pope and the Dark Lord might break out. Even if the Pope might not be Wilbur''s ally, he was determined not to make an enemy of him just yet.

Besides, Wilbur was less than thrilled to have the Dark Messenger find him. He was bound to attract the Dark Messenger''s attention once he used his powers. Wilbur needed a n to go about this, or he would be in trouble once the Dark Messenger discovered his whereabouts.

It had only been five days, which was too short of a time for Wilbur to make a decision. That was why he had struck up a month-long deal with the innkeeper to sell his catch to the inn every day.

If he were to stop doing that all of a sudden, he might attract the Dark Messenger''s attention. Thus, Wilbur chose to be a beacber on the shores of Wendis.

The truth was that beachbing was a job with much more freedom than any other. After all, the beach was full of mysteries of its own. You never know how much you would get a day, and that took away the limits of your expectations and thoughts. Aside from having to get up really early in the morning, there seemed to be no cons to the job.

There was also little to no qualification required to be a beacber. All that was needed was a bucket, and you would be on the job.

This had caused arge number of the Wendis townsfolk to work as beacbers as well, and the shores would be full of them every morning.
