Chapter 2417

Upon quenching his thirst, Wilbur looked at the stillke and was able to see his reflection in the water. Suddenly, the Dark Messenger''s voice could be hearding from behind him, "I finally found you, Wilbur Penn."

Wilbur whipped around to see the Dark Messenger standing a dozen or so meters away from him, staring him down with an icy re.

Wilbur scrambled to get to his feet, frowning at the Dark Messenger. "What... How are you here?"

The Dark Messenger scoffed. "You should be asking yourself that."

    "Me?"

    "Take this, Wilbur Penn!"

The Dark Messenger came charging towards Wilbur with a ck sword in his grasp, stabbing at Wilbur''s chest viciously. The sword pierced through Wilbur''s body, and he copsed to the ground unconscious.

Wilbur thought that he would be dead, but he soon felt rainwater beating down on his face. He sat up, looked around him, and saw that he was on Kook Ind.

    "What the..."

There was a searing pain in his chest, and Wilbur yanked his shirt open to take a look. There was no wound in sight, but Wilbur clearly remembered the Dark Messenger stabbing him right through the chest.

Just then, Wilbur''s surroundings began to shift again, and he found himself in a huge circr formation. Sitting on the podium before him was none other than the Child of Light.

"Is that you, Child of Light?"

"You made it in the end, Wilbur."

The Child of Light opened his eyes, looking at Wilbur. Wilbur was nothing but confused and did not know how anything had happened here. "What''s going on, Child of Light? Why does everything keep changing around me? I was just at the foot of a snowy mountain, but now I''m on Kook Ind?"

The Child of Light said, "Don''t you understand? Wilbur, this is a special dimension forged out of a mirage. Everything will shift ording to your imagination. If you think of a snowy mountain, you get a snowy mountain. If you think of a desert, that''s what you get."

    "I understand now!"

Realization struck Wilbur all at once. "That''s why the Dark Messenger showed up! He stabbed me in the chest but there was no wound, which meant that he wasn''t the actual Dark Messenger and just a figment of my imagination!"

Just as the words rang through the air, Wilbur''s surroundings began to fade before disappearing altogether.

    "Wait... Child of Light!"

Wilbur took off the Light Helmet on his head, his gaze shing. "I understand now. Thank you, Child of Light."
