It was a shame that his yelling was useless. The hole soon closed up, and Wilbur was trapped in endless darkness at that moment. He felt like he was still falling.
Everything around him was dark, and he could not see a thing. He felt despair at that moment. Wilbur thought he was the fated one and should be the one to save the world. However, he suddenly realized he meant nothing at all when everything around him vanished.
''Is this how I die?'' he wondered.
He did not know how things would end up and could only feel despair at that moment. He could not help but smile bitterly as he thought, ''Maybe I''m not the fated one.''
Suddenly, he widened his eyes in the darkness, unwilling to give up just yet. However, over time, he slowly shut his eyes in disappointment with nothing happening.
"Thank you, Mister Penn!"
"Mister Penn, you''re our savior."
"It''s all thanks to you for fulfilling my wish, Mister Penn!"
Just then, Wilbur could hear a lot of voices in his head. He recalled all the smiling faces and how d he felt for each near-death experience. It was as if there was an energying from the bottom of his heart, which instantly flowed out like a fountain, nourishing his body.
He felt warm, and by the time he opened his eyes once more, he noticed that he was emitting a white light. His Light Gloves were shining brighter too.
The radiance illuminated over a dozen meters around him in the darkness. Soon, Wilbur found an exit in front of him. The opening grew wider in the darkness as Wilbur rushed toward it.
Wilbur flew out from the dark hole in the me Domain and punched at the old man, but the old man stood still. He also closed his eyes as Wilbur approached him.
Wilbur''s fist stopped when it was near the old man''s face. He clenched his jaw and asked, "Why aren''t you dodging?"
The old man said through shut eyes, "You''ve learned to use your heart, so you passed my test. I''d rather you kill me than to attack you again."
Then, the old man waved his hand, dispelling his me Domain and bringing them back to the forest they were in. After that, Wilbur put down his fist and asked, "Use my heart? Do you mean..."
"That''s right. Light isn''t just anywhere. It''s in the heart. Only those with light inside their hearts understand the true meaning of light."
The old man slowly opened his eyes and said, "The light is never meant to be
used or borrowed. Real lightes from the heart."
Wilbur felt touched at that moment and could not stop his tears from falling.
He wiped away his tears and asked, "Why... Why am I crying?"
"Congrattions, young man. You found the real meaning of light."
"The real meaning of light?"
Wilbur was taken aback to hear that, and by the time he looked up again, the old man had vanished.
