What could the leading force be, then?
Wilbur stopped abruptly after walking around the formations twice and activated his Iris Veritas. Amidst his excitement and nerves, he hadpletely forgotten about the Iris Veritas, and that he could use it to look under the formation.
Through the Iris Veritas, Wilbur saw a stream of water deep underground flowing back and forth. A smaller stream connected to it would lead to the formation-the pale blue one, as Wilbur observed.
Despite the two formations being so closely interlocked with each other, the golden formation did nothing to block the water at all, which meant that the pale blue formation was the one controlling the water level underground.
That would mean that the golden formation was connected to the hidden space where the dragon cauldron fragment was located. Now that Wilbur had this information, he knew that the pale blue formation gave the people of Diseya a water source, and thus it was not to be touched.
However, it was not going to be easy to break the golden formation, either.
After the encounter earlier in the day, Wilbur knew that both formations were equally powerful. This made Wilbur curious as to what the leading force of the golden formation was. What kind of leading force had sustained this huge formation for two hundred years?
Yet despite activating the Iris Veritas, Wilbur could not see any leading force linked to the golden formation, which he found rather strange. There was no way the golden formation would havested this long without a leading force.
Wilbur also knew that the only way to break the golden formation was to find its leading force and cut off its connection to the formation so that the formation would disappear after using up all its own energy.
Wilbur stayed inspecting the formations all day, and the sky eventually began to darken. Arsi brought Wilbur dinner from home, but Wilbur refused to take a single bite. Arsi sat on a bench nearby, eating his own dinner as he said, "I don''t think you have to rush so much, Mister Penn. Why don''t we eat first? You can get back to looking at your formations after that."
Arsi was a simple man and did not know how important the formations were to Wilbur. What he did know was that it was no good to starve yourself.
Yet Wilbur waspletely transfixed and did not even seem to hear Arsi.
Later at night, a figure dashed out of Diseya to the deserts outside where five Harley-Davidsons parked. Six men and one woman wearing leather jackets stood waiting as the short figure ran over.
The short guy was named Johnson, the key informant of the Scorpion Killers. His small frame made him easy to miss, and the Scorpion Killers had aplished many missions with his help.
They did the same this time, getting Johnson to enter Diseya to spy on Wilbur.
Johnson''s chest heaved as he said, "Mister Huck, I saw Wilbur Penn just now. He was walking around the vige square in circles over and over again like a madman. I don''t know what he was doing."
Huck raised an eyebrow. "Walking around in circles in the vige square? What the hell?"
Johnson shrugged. "I really don''t know, either. Maybe he''s insane? Or maybe he''s into some weird cult? Either way, I haven''t got a clue."
Just then, Maria, the short-haireddy, cast a sultry smile toward Huck. "This Fawkes guy is kind of dumb, Huck. Blowing a hundred million dors on a crazy pot-stirrer? What an idiot."
Huck smirked, slinging an arm around Maria''s waist. "Fawkes isn''t as simple as you think he is, Maria. What he''s actually after are all the items Wilbur Penn got from the auction. They''re worth at least three hundred million dors."
"What?"
