Ellen screamed, "Watch out, Wilbur!"
Wilbur grabbed the baton Howie swung at him, yanking it out of Howie''s grasp as
a fierce gust of wind swept past and made a chill run down Howie''s back. The baton was somehow right on top of Howie''s head, and he trembled as he stared at Wilbur. "W-What are you t-trying to do?"
Wilbur yanked Howie into a room. "I think we should really have a talk about your family and your life, Mister Howie. You definitely owe Ellen and her mother an exnation."
Howie snapped out of his daze then, ring up in rage. "Who the f*ck do you think you are? My family is none of your business!"
Wilbur kicked Howie to the floor, and a sharp pain spread through Howie''s stomach as he rolled around close to tears.
Wilbur asked, "Is it my business now?"
"You... fine."
Howie knew that he was no match for Wilbur and could onlyply. Wilbur walked to the door and shooed the four hooligans away before closing the door and sitting down at the table. "Come on, Mister Howie. You''re a man, but you''ve let your wife down and also bullied your daughter. Look at the state your wife''s in. Aren''t you going to change at all?"
Ellen stared at Howie with tears in her eyes. He was her father either way, and she was willing to ept him again if he were to change his attitude and be a better man.
Howie nodded. "I''m sorry, I know I messed up. I actually knew I messed upst night, and I came over this morning to apologize to you. I''m so sorry, Ellen and Lisa. I hope you can give me a chance to redeem myself."
Tears streamed down Ellen''s face, but she was smiling. Ellen had been tormented by her father ever since she was little. He had never been a good father. Hearing that he was willing to change made her burst into tears.
"I''m sorry, Dad. I didn''t want things to be this way, and I hope you can forgive me too. Let''s change together and take care of Mom."
"Of course, my darling girl. You''re finally all grown up now."
Howie stroked Ellen''s head, looking nothing but kind and warm. Of course, Wilbur did not believe that Howie had changed so quickly. He was probably just putting on an act. However, if Howie was really willing to change, he deserved a chance all the same. That was the only way this family would get any better.
The family had breakfast with Wilbur, and Ellen walked Wilbur out after that. "Thank you, Wilbur. Dad would have never changed without your help."
Wilbur said, "I hope your father really does want to change, then. That''s the only way your life will change too."
Ellen grabbed Wilbur all of a sudden, kissing him passionately. The two of them shared a few minutes of passion before Ellen said, "Thank you. I''m sure you know that... this is all I can give you."
Wilbur nodded but sighed to himself internally. He had never expected anything from Ellen at all and only wanted to change her life so that she would have the courage to live on.
After leaving, Wilbur went straight to the museum. He dropped his letter into the suggestion box and even stayed for an hour to show Madam Judy his sincerity.
