Chapter 1767

Marie teared up again. "My father holds no power over the Jonan family anymore, Uncle Greg, and Grandpa said all those years ago that his collection would go to my father. Are you going to watch Dad die just like that?"

    "I....."

Greg had always resented Albus deeply. The two of them were brothers, but Albus was the youngest out of five sons and their father had always favored him the most, leaving all his prized possessions to Albus.

This had greatly angered the other four brothers, including Greg, and the four of them had thus hatched this n. Albus was currently deeply ill, and it would not be long before he ended up dead.

However, Greg was still Marie''s uncle. Despite the fact that the n involved killing Marie, Greg was now feeling an ache in his heart at the look on her face.

"Fine, fine. How about this? You can sell the collection to me since you need the money so badly. You offered ten billion dors, right? I''ll pay you ten billion."

Wilbur piped up then. "Surely you understand how ''firste, first served'' works, right, Mister Greg? Madam Marie has made up her mind to sell this collection to me, and it''s not very nice of you toe butting in and taking the offer away from me, is it?"

Greg pointed at Wilbur as he fumed, "You shut your mouth! I''m Marie''s uncle, and these are family matters. You have no ce in this conversation."

Wilbur smoked. "Sure. Why don''t we bid for the collection since we''re both after them, then? The collection goes to whoever can offer the higher price. How''s that?"

Greg sneered coldly. "I''m not scared of you. I''ll offer eleven billion! Sell the collection to me!"

    "Fifteen billion dors," said Wilbur.

    "You!"

Greg glowered at Wilbur, his eyes widening in rage and disbelief. "Twenty billion!" "Thirty billion dors."

    "You..."

Greg was at a loss for words once more. Thirty billion dors was well out of what he could afford, and Greg did not think that the collection was even worth that much.

He walked up to Wilbur with a furious scowl. "You got lucky this time, young man, but you might not be as lucky next time. I''d stay out of affairs of the Jonan family if I were you."

Greg turned to leave in a hurry after that.

Tina stared at Wilbur in disbelief. "Are you really going to pay thirty billion dors?"

"Yeah, why not? It''s just thirty billion. I''ll pay now."

The truth was that the collection was worth far more than thirty billion dors. Wilbur would still be making a profit even if he were to return all the Dashan antiques to the National Museum of Dasha for free and sell the leftovers for money.

Wilbur was far from making a loss here.

Marie was ovee with shock and joy. "Are you sure, Mister Penn? You''d be willing to buy my father''s entire collection for thirty billion dors?"
