Chapter 1761

Demetra had failed toplete the mission Greensource Corp had given him, and thus there was no way he was getting out alive.

Greensource Corp never gave second chances to anyone who failed. They had always operated this way. They gave people one chance, and those people who joined

Greensource Corp would have no choice but to do as they were told or lose that only chance.

There was only one consequence to losing your chance-death.

Miyah finally understood the severity of the situation. Despite having lived in Cametra for twenty years, the real reason she could not bear to leave was not the country itself, but Demetra.

Miyah wiped her tears away, her eyes red-rimmed as she said, "Leave with me, then. Let''s leave Cametra forever and live somewhere else. Can we do that, Demetra?"

Demetra shook his head. "That''s no use. You know what Greensource Corp is capable of, don''t you? The only way that might work at all is if you leave first. I''ll stay until everything''s settled ande looking for you."

    "But..... What if......." Miyah sobbed.

Demetra put a hand on Miyah''s shoulder. "Be strong, Miyah. We''ve gone through so much in our lives and know how cruel this world can be. We''d both be dead in a week if we left together. However, if you leave first, I''ll have one less thing to worry about. That might just be enough to get out of here alive, and we could still be together."

Miyah stopped crying at Demetra''s words. He slipped the ring onto her finger, pulling her into his arms.

There was no apuse, and hardly anyone even noticed them. The couple seemed to be on a different then, their hearts beating as one as they stared lovingly into each other''s eyes.

After dinner, Demetra drove Miyah to the airport.

He stood before the full-length windows, rooted to the spot long after Miyah''s ne rose into the sky and disappeared out of sight.

Demetra had always thought that true love was to be beheld by everyone, but he now knew that no one would understand two lovers like themselves.

Just then, a man in a suit holding a ck briefcase appeared next to Demetra. "Good job. I would''ve done the same, too."

"You''re finally here, Judge," said Demetra.

The man in the suit looked at him. "Let''s go somewhere else. This isn''t the easiest ce for me to make a move."

    Demetra nodded. "Sure. I''ll drive."

The both of them drove out of the city in a Benz, and the man in the suit looked out of the window. "Do you regret it? You would have survived if you hadn''t taken on this mission, you know."

Demetra looked ahead of him calmly. "Honestly, I don''t regret a thing. You know this is just what the life of an assassin is like."

The man in the suit smiled. "If I gave you the chance to escape now, would you leave Cametra? Of course. But that chance isn''ting."

The man nodded in satisfaction, ncing down at his wrist. On it was a special watch that could read the other person''s emotions.
