"Do you want to escape? Do you think you can do that? It''s time for this nonsense to end."
Wilbur watched Derkley run in an unbothered manner.
All of a sudden, his right arm was surrounded by lightning. The powerful spiritual energy was turned into a bright silver thunder spear. It sizzled with webs of electricity as if it could prate anything. It was shockingly powerful.
"Go!"
Wilbur slowly lifted the thunder spear in hand as he watched Derkley run away. Then, he tossed the lightning spear toward Derkley like it was a dart.
An explosive rumble could be heard from the thunder spear, then it shot towards Derkley like a ray of light, at the speed that was hard for the eye to follow.
Derkley was quite some distance away. He thought that he had sufficiently powerful spiritual energy after bing a Sanctuary level cultivator, which would be enough for him to escape even if he could not defeat Wilbur.
Derkley was a few hundred meters away from the head of the bridge. However, a terrifying energy approached him quickly from behind. It distracted him from his thoughts.
At that exact moment, Derkley was overwhelmed by a feeling of defeat and powerlessness. The ray from behind brought him enormous pressure.
It felt like no matter how he dodged, he would still die from the thunder spear in the end.
Derkley lost it because of fear and desperation. He did not continue to run away, but instead turned back and sprinted toward the thunder spear at a shocking speed.
Wilbur was slightly surprised to see that.
His thunder spear was in fact a long-range that umted power over time. The power of the thunder spear would grow stronger as it traveled further.
When the thunder spear reached its peak power, Wilbur assumed that even the peak Sanctuary level cultivators working for him would not dare to face it head-on, much less someone like Derkley who was only a beginner Sanctuary level cultivator who did not master his cultivation yet.
However, Wilbur thought that returning to face the thunder spear was the best defense for Derkley.
His thunder spear was controlled by his will. If Derkley did not have the ability to travel several kilometers in an instant, he would die from the thunder spear eventually.
The best way to fight back was to face the thunder spear before it reached its peak strength.
Wilbur did not know how Derkley figured it out. Perhaps he had a strong desire to survive, but Wilbur was confident in his thunder spear. The best oue for Derkley was barely surviving the thunder spear!
An explosion could be heard as the thunder spear exploded on the stone bridge. Dust and smoke were everywhere, swallowing Derkley up from view.
Wilbur slowly walked toward the center of the explosion. The smoke and dust gradually faded when he arrived.
There was a huge crater at the center of the stone bridge. The ground at the head of the bridge was sturdier than other parts of the bridge. Otherwise, Wilbur was afraid that the thunder spear would have blown the stone bridge apart.
Derkley was barely alive, lying in the middle of the crater. Wilbur sighed helplessly and said, "It looks like I''ve overestimated you. I thought you''d sacrifice your cultivation to fend off the thunder spear, then use your physique as a Sanctuary level cultivator to stay alive."
