Chapter 1657

"I asked them if they wanted any flowers and the man in the photo said no, but he did give me ten dors." Leia even took out the note to show it to Enoff.

"Well done, Leia! Good job! You can get your mother''s medicine for free at the hospital for the next six months. Take it as a reward for the information you gave me. You keep this and bring something yummy back for your mother. Don''t keep selling flowers anymore today. It might get really dangerous out there!" said Enoff, handing a thick stack of bills to Leia.

Leia nodded obediently at the sumptuous reward in her hand and skipped away from the manor.

Enoff watched as she left, before heading into the house, closing the door, and heading to a warm yellow bedroom.

A beautiful woman who could not speak was lying on the huge bed in the room. Enoff came up to her, taking her by the hand. "I''m going to head out for a bit, Evelyn. I''ll be back soon, though. Don''t worry about me."

Evelyn blinked her eyes twice from where she was lying down as if she were responding to Enoff.

Enoff smiled. He returned Evelyn''s hand to its normal position and left the house.

Enoff drove out of the ntation, dialing an anonymous number before heading toward the luxurious manor in the opposite direction of town.

Over on a hill east of Fenler was a castle. A man named Derkley lived in it, the richest and most powerful man in the entire town!

He had lost both his legs in an incident many years ago, and it was rumored that Derkley did not like using prosthetics. Thus, he was wheelchair-bound.

Derkley had two sons and a daughter. His younger son was in charge of all of Derkley''s proper businesses, whereas his older son took on Derkley''s position as Mondorra''s spokesperson in Fenler.

Derkley''s daughter, on the other hand, could not stand being in a family with so much blood on its hands that she cut Derkley offpletely and became the town''s senior police officer who few liked but no one dared to retaliate against. Just then, Derkley''s oldest son was currently reporting to his father about work when a young man with an ashen expression rushed into the room.

Derkley and his son Jonas were not angry in the slightest at the intrusion and sensed the urgency in the air. "What''s the matter, Peele?"

The young man named Peele said at once, "Mister Derkley, we''ve received news that the person Mondorra''s looking for has just arrived in our town!"

"If we move fast enough, we can stop them before they leave! But Mister Ketta from headquarters has explicitly ordered us to only track the guy down and wait for Mister Ketta himself to arrive to take care of him. I''m here to ask if we should track the guy down and report to Mister Ketta, or handle the guy ourselves and send him to Mister Mondorra?"

Derkley nced at Jonas after hearing the words. "What do you think, Jonas? What should we do?"

Jonas fell silent for a beat, then said, "Father, Mister Mondorra''s message mentioned that the guy''s pretty powerful. I think we can send someone over to see if that''s true, and if it is we''ll wait for Mister Ketta to get here. If the guy turns out to hardly be a threat at all, I don''t mind taking a risk. If we manage to bring the guy to Mister Mondorra, he might just grant us a handsome reward for it!"
