Wilbur''s generosity sessfully prevented the men from causing a scene in the inn, and they left after giving Wilbur a contact.


    It was clear they knew where to draw the line. That way, they could keeping back for more.


    A fixed fee, and no unnecessary harm caused to the people here. That was how their business hadsted so long!


    If they were to make a fuss and spoil the reputation of the neighborhood, there would be fewer people willing to live here and they would lose out on making


    more money.


    Wilbur did not have much to say about that. After all, all businesses were just operating by taking advantage of the weak.


    The difference with what these men were doing was that the people they extorted money from were forced to do so instead of them paying voluntarily!


    After the men were gone, Wilbur ordered some food from the innkeeper and had some idle chat with her.


    The innkeeper had a rather pretty face. It was just a shame that her body was out of shape from an unhealthy diet and ack of exercise.


    She plopped herself down on the chair across from Wilbur, then pulled the neckline of her shirt down to expose her voluptuous curves with the intention of seducing him. "Are you in Cametra for studies or are you on vacation?"


    Wilbur was starting to lose his appetite, both from the view in front of him and the terrible meal the innkeeper had made him. He took a few more half-hearted bites and said, "I''m nning to study abroad, and thought I''d have a look around before choosing a school!"


    The innkeeper was all the more thrilled. After all, the guy had to be rich to be able to pick schools like this.


    "Have you got a girlfriend, buddy? How about I introduce my daughter to you? She''s one of the prettiest girls in her university, I''ll have you know that!"


    Wilbur was a little speechless and put off, but still entertained her enough in hopes of getting some useful information.


    "Sure, I''m fine with that! But if her standards are too high, I might not be able to meet them, you know..."


    Just as the innkeeper was about to keep ying along, her phone started ringing.


    She answered the call, and her expression soon turned stern and solemn. By the time she put the phone down, her smile had disappearedpletely as she dialed another number.


    "Hey, you big oaf! Your daughter''s been caught stealing with her friend. You better get over there and bail her out, or she''s going to be thrown in prison!"


    She snarled into the phone for a while, before hanging up.


    As if sensing Wilbur''s awkwardness, the innkeeper turned to him helplessly. "My daughter used to be such a good girl when she was younger. But ever since we moved here, she''s learned to smoke weed and has been going around breaking thew. That wretched father of hers only knows how to gamble, I swear! I don''t even know why I married him and came all the way to this godforsaken ce!" She buried her head in her arms after that, bursting into tears.
