Wilbur smiled. "Anyone likes a prettydy, but some of us are better at self-
control. Besides, women are hardly a priority of mine anymore. You''ve got nothing to worry about."
Donna lowered her head once more.
A whileter, she raised her head. "I''m sorry, Sarah. I lost my mind."
Sarah fell silent, staring at the ceiling in silence.
Wilbur spoke up then. "I might not be able to understand your sexuality, but I''ll never be against it. The best life you can live is aplete one, and I hope you can learn to embrace life again."
He turned to leave after that.
Warner got to his feet at the sight of Wilbur.
Just as Wilbur was about to say something, his phone rang.
"What''s up, Faron?"
"Still busy there, bro?"
"Almost done. What''s up?"
"Faye''s in the hospital."
"What the hell? What happened?"
Wilbur could not help but grow nervous. Faye was supposed to be a cultivator now, and she lived in a ce that was full of healthy spiritual air. Surely she would be immune to most, if not all ailments?
Faron let out a cough. "She sprained her ankle, that''s all. Faye wouldn''t let me tell you, but I felt it was best to let you know. You know what women are like."
"Got it. I''lle back right now. Text you when I reach the train station."
"Sure thing."
Wilbur ended the call, shaking his head.
Despite this being a small deal, he was just about done with his affairs in Hemount City. Someone else would step up and take over soon, and it was time for him to head back.
"I''m really sorry, Mister Warner. Faye''s in the hospital, and I need to rush home as soon as possible. You can talk to Shane about the rest," said Wilbur, booking himself a train ride at once and sending the details to Faron.
Warner was shocked by his statement. Wilbur Penn''s girlfriend getting
hospitalized was a huge deal, and all he could do was nod before sending Wilbur to the station himself.
Wilbur boarded the train and it rumbled into motion. He thought about what had happened in the past few days.
He had gotten Nees Corp a good investor, taken over Rocher Corp, and even helped to crack a big homicide case. To top it all off, he had even got a bangle and a flying dagger out of it.
Most importantly, he had witnessed what courage and sacrifice truly meant from the Rocher ancestors.
Wilbur felt that those two values were the rarest in humanity and did not feel like he himself truly had those values.
Madam Rocher''s sacrifice had rocked him to his core, leaving a deep imprint on him.
A few hourster, Wilbur got out of the train and saw Faron already there waiting for him.
The two of them got into Faron''s car and drove off to the hospital.
"She just sprained her ankle and refused to get hospitalized," said Faron. "But I felt that it was best to be safe since you weren''t here and made her get it checked out. The bone''s been cracked a little, and she''s going to have to be tended to."
"Good thinking," Wilbur nodded. "Have you been hometely?"
Faron smiled. "Yeah, I have."
"How was talking to your old man?"
"It is what it is," Faron said vaguely.
Wilbur did not ask much more. After all, this was a family matter that he was not a part of.
The two of them got to the hospital not long after, and Faron brought Wilbur to Faye''s ward.
The hospital was filled with people, buzzing with hustle and bustle.
