All the onlookers turned pale at the sight of the figure engulfed in mes.


    However, they could not tell who the figure was.


    "Master Atrus?" someone asked after some time.


    All eyes were on the brilliant spiritual mes, flickering with emotion and doubt.


    Wilbur sneered coldly, standing tall amidst the mes.


    Elise and the others were all the more worried as they watched on.


    Elise was particrly terrified, having broken the skin of her palm by digging her nails in too hard and drawing blood. She hardly even noticed that happened.


    "Have you killed that reckless hooligan, Master Atrus?"


    "Anyone who dares to challenge the authority of Westeria shall be taken down by the sentence of Master Atrus."


    "Please show yourself, Master Atrus, so we can worship you!"


    The crowd began to grow in excitement, chanting Atrus'' name and flooding the air with his praises.


    The people were certain that there was no way Atrus would lose, so he had to be the one who had survived the battle.


    Elise swayed on her feet, eventually losing it and copsing to the ground.


    Connor scrambled to hold her. Elise was pale as a sheet, trembling from head to toe.


    Lindon closed his eyes, letting out a hopeless sigh.


    Carlson and Haden were nothing but terrified as well, unsure where to go from here.


    After all, the chances of Wilbur being the figure amidst those mes were hardly even probable.


    Just then, however, the spiritual mes faded to reveal the figure standing among them.


    Everyone was in shock.


    They stared at Wilbur in disbelief, as if they had just seen a ghost.


    "Who are you? Where''s Master Atrus?" someone shouted in terror.


    Wilbur sneered coldly. "Oh, my apologies. Your Master Atrus is dead, so there''s no way he''s showing up here."


    "Yeah, right! Atrus is second to none, how could he be dead?" someone howled as if they had lost their minds.


    The other cultivators present refused to believe Wilbur''s words either.


    To them, Atrus was an unrivaled existence. He was a god, and there was no way he would end up dead! That was ridiculous!


    Wilbur merely smiled, looking at the people mockingly.


    Just then, Connor''s gaze froze.


    He stared at Wilbur, hardly daring to believe his eyes.


    A beatter, he reached over to shake his sister hard as he shouted, "Look, it''s Mister Penn!"


    Lindon, Carlson, and Jaden''s bowed heads snapped up at the speed of light, their eyes widening in shock at once.


    Elise, in her semi-conscious state, opened her eyes with all her might as well.


    She had nearly fainted from her nerves.


    It was only because she had heard the mention of Wilbur that she was even able to open her eyes.


    Her expression froze when she saw that it really was Wilbur.


    The next second, Elise and the others let out a cheer at the same time.


    Wilbur was back, which could only mean that he had defeated Atrus.


    After all, in a battle like that, only the victor would survive.


    Lindon and the others could hardly contain their emotions.


    Elise sprang to her feet as well, the color returning to her face at once.
