"Get out of the way!" Elise roared, finally losing her temper. The bodyguards had no choice but to do as told.
Wilbur handed the phone to her, and Elise dialed a number on it before putting it to her ear anxiously.
Wilbur waited nearby in silence. This had nothing to do with him, and he did not want to meddle in the slightest.
Not long after, Elise was done with her call. She returned the phone to Wilbur, looking devastated. "Thank you."
"You''re wee." Wilbur let out a soft sigh at the sight of a terrified and distressed Elise.
The next second, she was escorted away by her Ambience level bodyguards downstairs.
Somehow, Wilbur found himself shouting, "I''m staying at Crown International Hotel. You''re free to hit me up if you need my help."
It was unclear if Elise heard him as she left the dock.
Wilbur shook his head, sighing to himself. Getting arrested overseas definitely meant these guys were in some serious trouble.
Not like he had anything to do with it, anyway.
Wilbur looked at the ocean.
He spent the rest of the afternoon taking in the sights of the sea, returning to shore at around evening.
Wilbur never saw Elise again, heading straight back to his room.
It would be the third day by tomorrow, which meant that he was due for a trip to Ben''s to get the information he needed.
Much, muchter that night...
Elise, who was also staying at the Crown International Hotel, could barely eat or sleep amidst her panic.
Her father had arranged to rush over once she had called him, but the soonest he could get here was the next day.
Her father had also told her to get the bestwyer she could find and prepare for a court case.
Elise had just bid farewell to two of Morburn''s bestwyers, whom she had paid a hefty sum for.
However, thewyers said that bribery was a serious offense in Morburn, with a minimum sentence of three years, and a maximum of ten.
Those words had scared the wits out of Elise despite not knowing exactly what Connor and Jaden had done as she had just followed them along on this trip.
Judging by the way those two did things, though, there was undoubtedly arge sum of money involved.
On top of that, they were on a whole different continent. There were no connections they could pull, and Elise was about to lose her mind.
She had also told thewyers that they had to meet with her brother no matter
what the next day, to which thewyers had agreed.
Elise curled into a ball on the couch, tears streaming down her face as time ticked by slowly.
The next morning.
Elise met with thewyers but was told that neither of them could meet with Connor and Jaden.
Elise looked at thewyers, her gaze desperate. "Can they be bailed out?"
"Yes, but it''s going to cost you a lot of money, as well as the guarantee of someone of high esteem," one of thewyers, a man with a mustache said.
Elise scrambled to say, "I have the money, but I don''t know anyone here. I can''t find a guarantor."
"Well, there''s nothing we can do about that. It''s thew," said the otherwyer.
Elise was beside herself with panic. "I paid you five hundred thousand dors! You can''t do this to me!"
"We''ll do our best to help them in the court case, but you must know this-our best is determined by thew. Anything beyond that is up to you," the mustachedwyer said with a meaningful glint in his eyes.
Elise fell backward against the couch, looking nothing but distressed.
