That was the best he could do.
It was around afternoon when Wilbur returned to Banes, entering the cathedral with Lilian.
They sat down in the meeting room with the Archbishop Karl, captain of the church militia Cameron, and the Patron Saint Catherine.
Everyone else snuck nces at Lilian every now and then.
Wilbur first told everyone what happened in Millerton but left out many key points of information.
Right now, it would be better to have fewer people know about the chaotic realm as that would only incite panic.
Karl was shocked after listening to Wilbur.
This Pumido cult had been powerful enough to taint an entire city of people, which was truly terrifying.
Following that, Wilbur introduced Lilian to the team and asked Karl and the others to give her a position.
After a brief discussion, it was settled that Lilian would be the cathedral priest and begin learning and practicing sorcery.
Wilbur was surprised. "Sorcery?"
"Yes," Karl smiled. "You might not know this yet, Your Holiness, but the Patron Saint can now use a wide range of sorcery spells. It''s all thanks to the faith of our believers."
Wilbur was stunned.
He, as the church pope, hardly knew any sorcery. When had Catherine be so powerful?
On the other hand, however, that was not so hard to believe.
As a Patron Saint, Catherine was able to use her natural charm to strengthen the unwavering faith of her believers.
In fact, the powers of faith Catherine had could probably rival Wilbur''s.
If she had been focusing on funing this, she would have a good amount of spells up her sleeve by now.
At the thought, Wilbur turned to Catherine. "Congrattions."
"Your Holiness, it''s only because of the power the Fire Dragon Lord blessed me with that I was able to do it. There''s no need to congratte me," said Catherine calmly.
Somehow, the words seemed to cause annoyance to re up in Wilbur''s chest. Of course, he did not show this. "Work hard on cultivating, then." Catherine nodded silently.
Just then, someone reported from outside, "The president has asked to see His Holiness."
The crowd looked over at Wilbur, who said, "Have hime in."
Not long after, Tyrone entered the room with Mary.
Wilbur and others got up to greet them, which Tyrone replied warmly.
Mary sank into a deep bow, gazing at Wilbur with fervent admiration.
The others saw this but said nothing about it.
Lilian was the only one whose gaze sharpened with jealousy.
Wilbur invited Tyrone and Mary to sit down.
Tyrone said, "Mary''s now my assistant. She''s learning about political management."
"That''s good," Wilbur smiled.
Mary kept her head bowed but snuck nced at Wilbur every now and then.
Tyrone looked around him. "I came here to tell you that the people from the Church of Holy Illuminati are currently gathering by the masses on the borders of Ganbi. I think they''re trying to target us."
Karl and the others looked up at once. The Church of Holy Illuminati had never been a force to underestimate, even if they had once lost to Wilbur.
Wilbur raised an eyebrow, smirking coldly. "Took them long enough. I was starting to get impatient, to be honest."
"Your Holiness, the Church of Holy Illuminati has said to gather ten holy warriors, a thousand church militia knights, and an army led by the three great judges of the tribunal. They''re dering war against the Church of the Fire Dragon Lord."
