The sight, coupled with the overwhelming sense of faith from the believers, filled Wilbur''s chest with a sense of pride and gusto.
"Please stand, my fellow believers. May the spirit of the me Dragon Lord be with us for all times."
"May the spirit of the me Dragon Lord be with us."
The crowd called out loudly, rising to their feet. They remained bowing to their pope still, maintaining a level of respect.
Wilbur walked into the middle of the vige square slowly. An enormous figure came soaring over, nding in front of Wilbur, and bringing about a fog of dust in the air.
Wilbur smiled, stroking the me serpent''s head as it nudged Wilbur affectionately and let out low croons.
"Alright, alright. I need to handle this, I''ll take you out to y once I''m done."
Wilbur patted the me serpent''s head. To his surprise, Wilbur noticed that something seemed to be a little different about the serpent.
There seemed to be a new core in the me serpent''s body, one that held a gigantic amount of me spiritual energy.
Wilbur activated his Iris Veritas at once, inspecting it closely.
A secondter, he broke out into a smile. "Keep up the good work, and you''re going to be a real dragon one day."
It turned out that the power of belief had been feeding the me serpent as well, forming a core in its body that would be converted to a Dragon''s Crystal eventually as it continued to cultivate. Once that happened, the me serpent would officially be an actual dragon.
The me serpent let out a croon, clearly pleased to hear Wilbur''s words.
Wilbur chuckled, turning to head to the second floor of the church with Karl and the others.
This used to be a traveler''s inn but had been renovated into a sprawling church. The first floor was now a prayer hall, and the second floor was where themittee''s office was.
Wilbur, Karl, Patron Saint Catherine, Church Militia Captain Cameron, Vice Captain Dawson, and church executive Groot sat down in one of the meeting
rooms.
Wilbur nced at them. "Tell me what happened."
Karl cleared his throat. "We''ve gained over two hundred thousand believers during this time, a portion of whome from neighboring countries. However, a political shift happened in Terya all of a sudden. The armed forces led by Milo Konos have defeated the national army and held the previous president, Tyrone Simmons hostage before beginning to capture our believers."
"Is the Church of the me Dragon Lord involved in this political shift?" asked Wilbur.
Karl shook his head. "No. We''ve never gotten ourselves involved with politics in the slightest."
"Then why is this happening?" asked Wilbur.
Karl said, "The political shift in Terya was backed by the Church of Holy Illuminati and the Fieri Group."
Wilbur leaned back in his chair. "That exins it, then. It seems like these folks over at the Church of Holy Illuminati sure know how to hold a grudge."
"Your Holiness, they have done nothing after you heavily wounded their Red Archbishop Herman until now. I think this happened because of that," said Cameron.
Wilbur nodded. "I guess it was inevitable that we would be enemies of the Church of Holy Illuminati. They see any other religion as unholy and demonic, a war is going to happen eventually. What''s with this Fieri Group, though?"
"The Fieri Group calls themselves a charity foundation. They''re run by a man named Gary Olgard. Everyone knows, though, that they have ties to the officials over in Freeca and are known for exploiting the poption of developing Freecan countries to form armed forces. They hire mercenaries to overthrow any governments that oppose the West, and then take control over the government themselves to exploit thend for its rich minerals or whatever resources they can find," said Karl.
Wilbur frowned at the words.
It seemed like this was no small matter.
Karl then said, "This political shift was nned by one Michael An, one of three top dogs of the Church of Holy Illuminati. The Fieri Group backed the n up in secret, which was what gave Milo his new position. I think their next target''s going to be us for sure."
Wilbur smirked. It seemed like this n was more sinister than expected.
Of course, Wilbur had always met any obstacle head-on, and there was nothing that he particrly feared.
He did not fear the Fieri Group, nor did he fear that guy named Michael An.
