Chapter 1227

When he left the hotel, he walked across two streets before arriving at a barbecue store and sat down on an outdoor seat.

When the waiter came with the menu, Wilbur ordered enough for five or six people and asked for some expensive alcohol before he started his wait.

Not long after that, the meal arrived. There were tworge tes that were fully stacked up in front of him. Before he even got to taste the meat, the smell was definitely amazing enough to make him drool.

Wilbur opened the alcohol and took a drink before he started to enjoy his food.

Even putting aside everything else, being able to eat good meat while enjoying a drink was one of the joys of the world.

It had been a long time since he got to rx like that, drinking and eating alone.

Just as he was enjoying himself, Wilbur noticed that there was a girl with disheveled hair and a dirty face nearby looking at his food.

The girl''s clothes were just like her face, so dirty that it was impossible to tell the original color. The only thing that could clearly be seen was her bright eyes.

However, those eyes were filled with a desire for food at that moment. Wilbur could even hear her stomach rumbling.

Wilbur could feel that the girl was using thest of her dignity to stop herself from rushing over and stealing his food.

It was clear from the girl''s face that she was struggling with such a great hunger that was enough to make someone resort to violence. She was clearly in great pain.

She was enduring a fight between the need for food and her dignity within her.

Seeing the scene before him, Wilbur sighed and waved the girl over.

The girl did not notice him moving at all. That was because her gaze waspletely fixed on the mountains of meat.

    Wilbur whistled loudly.

    The girl shuddered and gulped.

Wilbur smiled and waved at her again.

She hesitated for a moment, her eyes full of rm.

However, she failed to resist the allure of the food. Hunger was not something that could be ovee through willpower alone.

    The girl slowly walked over.

Wilbur smiled and said, "I ordered too much and can''t finish. Can you help me out?"

Thest shred of the girl''s dignity was dissolved by Wilbur''s words.

She did not hesitate to sit down, grabbing some meat as she started to eat.

Wilbur silently looked at the girl, asking for some water and putting it in front of her.

The moment she started, she had no reservations at all.

She Wolfed down all the food hungrily, not even stopping for water.

Wilbur watched as that girl finished enough food for five to six people all by herself.

Wilbur smiled before he called the waiter to order some more food.

That girl let out a few burps, finally picking up the water and gulping it all down.

After she finished drinking, the girl let out a long sigh. Then, she looked down and said nothing as she sat there.

Wilbur did not say anything at all, merely lighting up a cigarette for himself.

Not long after that, the waiter brought over two more tes of meat. Wilbur said softly, "Do you want more?"

The girl lowered her head and shook it, not saying anything.

Wilbur smiled as he continued to eat and drink.

Both of them sat there in silence.

After some time, the girl said in a soft voice, "Thank you."

"No need to thank me." Wilbur smiled at her.

He did not ask what the girl had gone through, because he could tell that the girl

    had a lot of pride.

She finally looked Wilbur in the eye.

    Wilbur smiled in response.

"Are you a good person?" the girl asked strangely.

Wilbur smiled at her. That question was a hard one to answer.

How could one truly draw the line between good and bad?

Just as he was thinking about how to answer the question, two men walked over

and stood in front of Wilbur''s table.

The streetlights caused their shadow topletely cover up the table.
