In the afternoon, Wade brought a few journalists along, and he arrived smugly at the bridge on Seke Ind.
"Hey, you! Did you guys call me?" Wade asked while looking up.
Charles walked out of his room and smiled, replying, "Yes. My employer is looking for you. Please wait."
"What is this? Tell him to hurry up," Wade replied in a displeased tone.
Charles smiled and nodded before making a call to Wilbur.
However, he was snickering to himself inside.
He knew that Wade was only digging his own grave.
Did he not know who the people staying on Seke Ind were? Any one of them could give him hell if they wanted to.
Wilbur soon walked out of his house. He crossed the bridge and approached Wade.
Wade sized him up.
Wilbur smiled and asked, "Mister Holen, how about we sit down and have a chat?"
"What do we have to chat about? Should we talk about how you guys abused your power to arrest the elderly?" asked Wade with his head held high.
Wilbur chuckled and sat on a nearby bench, patting the seat next to him.
Wade scoffed and walked over, taking a seat without hesitation.
Wilbur smiled and said, "I exined this very clearly before, but I would like to talk to you to avoid escting the issue. This will be the end of it, alright?"
"The end of it?" Wade chuckled and said, "Arresting the elderly isn''t something minor. Don''t even think for a moment that you canmand the special agents just because you''re rich. When you are exposed, the special agents you conspired with will go down with you. Do you think this will be the end of it?"
Wilbur frowned and asked slowly, "What do you think I should do?"
"I think you should consider your options carefully," said Wade whileughing. Wilbur pondered for a moment and said, "Just tell me straight. How can this end?" Wade sighed, then said with a frown, "I didn''t want to trouble you, but you should know that Susan Yown''s son is the Deputy Director of the Land and Resources Department. Thisnd is under his jurisdiction. You offended his mother, so it''s hard to resolve."
"Oh? What should I do, then?" Wilbur pretended to look nervous, and he felt like he should win an Oscar.
Wade sighed and replied, "Alright. I don''t think you look like a bad guy, and all this was just an idental mistake on your part. You can pay me some money, and I''ll take care of it for you."
"I see. How much do you think you will need?" Wilbur asked.
Wade frowned and replied, "Ten million dors."
"That much?" asked Wilbur while frowning.
Wade instantly looked displeased. He said, "You own thisnd, so there''s no need
to pretend that you don''t have the money. Don''t forget that you''re under someone''s jurisdiction, no matter how wealthy you are. Don''t risk it and lose yournd by then. It''s not worth going to jail for."
Wilbur watched Wade pretend to give some caring advice, then smiled as he nodded along. He said, "That makes sense, but is my money going to you, or to Susan Yown''s son?"
"I told you this money is required for the whole ordeal to end. Don''t be a conspiracy theorist, alright? Otherwise, no one will be able to save you," Wade retorted.
Wilbur hurriedly nodded and said, "Give me a bank ount. I''ll transfer the money right away."
Wade sneered coldly and gave Wilbur his banking details.
Wilbur then transferred the money without hesitation.
Wade had a greedy look when he saw the money being transferred. After that, he said ringly, "Consider it settled. You''ll be doomed if anyone finds out about this."
"Oh yeah? Are you sure I''m the one who will be in trouble?" asked Wilbur with a grin.
Wade looked at Wilbur and asked slowly, "What do you mean by that?"
