Chapter 1088

Wilbur frowned and asked, "What''s wrong with her? Was she being disobedient?"

"You''ll find out when you get there," said Chuck coldly.

Wilbur stood up slowly. Chuck and his subordinates then forced him to the elevator, and they went to Yannick''s office.

Yannick still had his legs on the table, smoking his cigar.

There was a middle-aged man standing behind him. He had a buzzcut and a

    sinister gaze.

Wilbur nced at him and knew that he was an intermediate Ambience level cultivator.

Sophie stood by the side with her hands and feet tied. She looked absolutely terrified.

"What''s going on, boss?" asked Wilbur.

Yannick looked at Wilbur and smiled nonchntly. He replied, "Your cousin didn''t make a single dor yesterday."

"She just got here, so she doesn''t know anything yet. It''s normal," said Wilbur.

Yannick scoffed coldly and said, "Normal things here are abnormal. Those who can''t make money will have to be punished."

"Why did you ask to see me?" asked Wilbur while frowning.

Yannick tossed him a whip and replied coldly, "Whip Sophie ten times, and whip her hard."

Sophie instantly looked at Wilbur with fear in her eyes.

However, there was a message in her eyes that Wilbur understood.

She wanted him to not show any mercy.

    Wilbur picked up the whip.

The whip was made by twisting multiple strands of animal sinew together into a meter-long whip. It was a sturdy whip alright.

It was a whip that would rip through one''s skin easily.

Ordinary people would not be able to withstand being whipped ten times.

Wilbur held the whip and frowned. He said, "My cousin brought me here to earn money out of the kindness of her heart, but now you want me to hit her. I can''t do that."

"You can''t do it? Or is there something fishy going on with you two?" asked Yannick creepily.

There was a gleam of panic in her eyes.

Wilbur frowned and replied, "We only wanted to make money. To be honest, I feel like we''ve been tricked. This ce is not like she described, but we epted it anyway. However, I can''t do it if you want us to tear each other apart."

Wilbur tossed the whip to the floor.

Yannick put his legs down and looked at Wilbur coldly. Sophie looked nervous and afraid.

Yannick suddenlyughed after a moment. He said, "Fine. I''ll give her three days. If she can''t make any money by then, you''ll know that we won''t allow freeloaders. Take her away."

    Someone immediately brought Sophie away.

She snuck a nce at Wilbur before she left.

There was some resentment in her eyes.

Wilbur knew that Sophie felt like it was too risky for him to refuse whipping her.

Sophie could withstand being whipped, but Wilbur could not hit a femalepanion. It was not necessary either.

If Yannick flipped out, he might as well tear down the entire industrial park.

He would just find another way to track down Venomadder.

Yannick said after Sophie was taken away, "Alright, go to your station and keep an eye on those who can''t make any money. Don''t let them escape, and don''t let them die too."

His station was the punishment area. The area was to punish those who could not pull their weight.

Wilbur knew about it when he first got here.

He silently nodded and walked to his station. Two armed guards followed behind him.

He came to his station and slowly passed by the prison cells.

He could hear painful screams and sounds of begging everywhere.

The sounds of whips and electrical batons werebined with tragic screaming.

There was no dignity for the punished ones.

They were less than an animal in the industrial park.

Wilbur could not help but sigh.
