The Ex-Husband’s Revenge By Dragonsky Chapter 35

“That wasn’t what happened. Mister Conrad was the one who made advances on his subordinate…”

Leon had a bitter look on his face as he retold the story, but he remained incredibly uneasy because it

would be difficult to win Iris’s trust if Lily were to side with Joseph.

“That is outright nder, Miss Young! Miss Cameron and I were discussing work at that time. She can

vouch for me…” Joseph rushed to defend himself.

“Is Mister Conrad telling the truth, Miss Cameron?”

Iris gestured for Lily toe up to her.

    “Yes…”

Lily lowered her head. She was afraid to make eye contact with Iris, and most of all, Leon.

“Do you have anything else to say, Leon?” Iris looked calmly at Leon.

    “I… No.”

Leon sighed. He felt despair that was beyond words.

Iris was both pissed and amused that Leon drooped his head like a defeated rooster.

The difference between herself and Ariel was that she

    understood Leon’s character better.

Leon might not have any talent or ability, but he had a morally honest character. As someone who was

steadfast in his convictions and brave enough to ept

responsibility, he would never stoop so low as to be a deceitful and petty person.

Even though Lily vouched for Joseph, Iris still believed Leon more.

Such was her trust in Leon!

    “Raise your head, Miss Cameron!”

    Iris turned to Lily.

Lily did not dare to disobey her and immediately looked up to meet Iris’s gaze.

“Look into my eyes! I’ll give you onest chance to answer. Who’s telling the truth? Is it Leon or Mister

    Conrad?”

    –

Iris directed her sharp gaze right at Lily’s eyes, and that- along with her ever – dignified imposingness -

    left Lily feeling heavily pressured.

    “It’s Jo-”

Lily opened her mouth to answer and insisted on

repeating her previous answer. However, Iris’s gaze was so sharp that it made Lily feel guilty to

continue the rest of her answer.

Joseph’s heart skipped a beat and he had a vague bad

feeling. Leon already admitted that there was nothing more to say, which made it all the more confusing

as to why Iris continued to ask that question.

“Miss Young, Leon has already admitted that he—” Joseph hurriedly interrupted.

“Shut up! I’m asking Miss Cameron. Not you!” Irismbasted.

Joseph trembled uncontrobly and did not dare to talk any more.

“You need to be able to live with your conscience, Miss Cameron! Now touch your heart and tell me the

    truth!”

Iris looked at Lily coldly and her domineeringly cold aura was even more oppressive.

    “I…”

Lily touched her heart with one hand. She was already very guilty to begin with, so as soon as she felt

the beating of her heart through the palm of her hand, her fragile mental fortitude copsed in an

    instant!

“I’m sorry, Miss Young. I lied… It was Mister Conrad who abused his power to bully me, and Mister

Wolf was the one who saved me. The only reason I helped Mister Conrad use Mister Wolf was

because I was afraid of losing my job…”

Lily knelt in front of Iris with a thud. Tears soon began gushing out like a broken dam and she almost

lost her breath in between sobs. It was truly a sad and pitiful sight.

“So, you two worked together to falsely use Leon!”

Ariel was dumbfounded. She believed Joseph’s lies and even thought that Leon was the bad guy here.

Reality gave Ariel a tight p on her face though, because that old man was actually stringing her

along the entire time! She was a little peeved as a result because that

whole incident simply reinforced everyone’s idea of her as a bimbo.
