    Zhao Yao’s eyes lingered at this suspicious character for a split second before he reached his arm forward and tossed him behind the extradimensional belly gate. The thick mist rendered everyone oblivious to his disappearance.


    Zhao Yaomanded the cats inside his belly, “I want you to interrogate him and find out what’s wrong with him.”


    This seemingly ordinary man stared dumbfoundedly as darkness nketed his vision before he opened his eyes to a foreignnd. He turned his head around to see tens of cats staring viciously at him.


    Matcha licked his paws in a blood-curdling manner. With his eyes fixed on him, Matcha shouted at Old Cat, “Old Cat, tell this man to answer truthfully for these ws have no eyes.”


    Meanwhile, Zhao Yao had initially nned to tag behind the two Americans as they ventured forth. However, he had to forgo this n for a more expedient approach.


    “If it wasn’t for Rice Cake, I could have simply followed behind them and find out what exactly is going on. This would at least save me from any mysterious power’s sneak attack.”


    “However, I need to get Rice Cake out asap. I need to resort to a more efficient n while alsopleting these victims’ missions.”


    With that, Zhao Yao tranted his thoughts into action. An illusion nketed down on the victims, robbing them including the two Americans of their five senses. In one fell swoop, Zhao Yao tossed all of them into the extradimensional belly.


    Xiao Yu stared at this puzzling scene and asked, “What are you trying to do?”


    Zhao Yao replied sternly, “I’m obviously trying to save all of them. How can you bear to leave them down here as they wait in vain for help that might never arrive?”


    There was only one ce which could amodate them all. Hence, Zhao Yao had no choice but to temporarily house these unconscious people in his belly.


    After all, these were premium material for Zhao Yao to work with. He intended to cash them out slowly. When Rice Cake’s issue is resolved, he would have more than enough time to deal with these flustered individuals, one by one.


    After settling the distressed, Zhao Yao focused his attention back on the Americans. He thought about it briefly before deciding on keeping William while throwing the other one into his belly. With a snap of his fingers, he had cast another illusion as he slowly seeped into William’s consciousness.


    William felt as if a whirlwind had exploded in his head as he jolted awake. Immediately, he was alerted to an agonizing pain running down his arm. To his shock, it was a huge spider! He immediately swatted it away only to reveal his swollen arm. He was arrested with fear as he thought, “Am I poisoned?”


    However, he instantly felt a mysterious flow of warm energy emerging from that same spot.


    “Is this ... power?”


    A flurry of images whizzed through his head. These were images Zhao Yao had imnted using his illusion


    Spiderman, Spiderman 2, Spiderman 3 ...


    “What the f*ck is going on? I haven’t even watched Spiderman 3. Why would I even think of it?”


    However, the images which popped into his head ignored his words as they continued flooding him with all the movie footages.


    The brainwashing was taking effect as William stared at his arm in disbelief, “Don’t tell me that this spider bite has also awakened the power residing within me?”


    While William was stuck in his own thoughts, darkness had once again nketed his vision. He couldn’t see anything. It was just emptiness. Suddenly, a panel materialized out of the void. On it, a word was printed – gd-syste.


    “What ... what ... is this?” William stared in shock at this baffling scene. He immediately googled the word and realized that itprised two modules in its most basic form. They were ‘physical properties’ and ‘mission panel’.


    By continuallypleting more missions, he could improve his physical properties in the fields of strength, speed, and intelligence. With a stronger body, he could take on even more daunting missions which would unlock hidden features within the system.


    Upon closer inspection, William noticed a string of grey words written beneath the mission panel. Their abilitiesprised strength, animal spirits, mosaic, pets, wings, sweepstakes, recharge, malls, friends, homes, heroes ...


    “There are so many functions! This is interesting.”


    Suddenly, a roulette sprang out of nowhere. The rewards written on it were stone sword, angel’s blood, demonic strength, Zeus’s power, holy light... Written above it were the words, ‘neers’ reward’.


    “Why are some words in English while others are in Mandarin? Thankfully I’m still able to understand some basic Mandarin.”


    “A lucky draw right at the start?” William stared intently at the rotating roulette as his heart pounded rapidly against the wall of his chest, “Don’t tell me that this system is actually legit?”


    Finally, the roulette wheel’s spin started to slow down as the ballnded in a sectionbeled “Immense strength coupled with skin that even spears cannot prate.”


    “Is this even real?” William decided to put his ‘newfound strength’ to the test. He threw his clenched fist in the air and cocked his body like a bow as he readied himself for an earth-shattering blow.


    At the same time, a red glimmer had shed across Zhao Yao’s eyes as he took control of Ares’s power.


    With his immacte timing, William’s punch was met with a resounding explosion as beads of sand flew in all directions. It was as if a bomb had detonated at the exact position where he punched. As the dust settled, a huge crater was left standing there.


    “So strong?” William was taken aback by this incredible scene. He stared at his own fists in utter shock and muttered, “And yet I do not feel a hint of pain at all. This body is far tougher than I had imagined.”


    Excitement overwhelmed him as William broke into a huge smile, “I have finally awakened my superpower. With this power, I can continue to grow and be infinitely strong. I will be the next human standing atop the shoulders of the gods!”


    Immediately, the glint disappeared from his eyes as he surveyed his surroundings with suspicion. He realized that both his partner and the victims had all copsed to the ground, unconscious. Obviously, he had no idea that it was simply a part of Zhao Yao’s illusion.


    Since everyone was asleep, he had no intentions to wake them up. Instead, he fixed his attention on the mission panel and read through the content, “Leave the beach and enter the depths of the ind. Mission reward: strength + 0.”


    Wiliam nced at his current physical properties and realized that all his physical attributes were currently 0. Hence, an increase of + 0 would double his current strength.


    His current punch was enough to create a huge crater on the beach. He dared not imagine just how strong he would be with the impending boost.


    A delighted smile started tugging at the corner of his lips as he considered. After all, this new mission did not sh with his original mission. Furthermore, it even rewarded him with such an incredible power. There was no reason for him to refuse it. Hence, he tensed his muscle and bolted forward. However, he was immediately notified to thepletion of the mission when he had just taken one step out of the beach.


    “What? It’s so easy?” He thought about it briefly before mming his foot against the ground.


    The earth beneath his foot started to crack as chunks of gravel exploded skywards, sending the projectiles flying in all directions. This devastating force was enough to distort the ground surrounding him as holes and gaps emerged all over the ce. Even William himself was taken aback by the intensity of it.


    William stared at his amazing foot before ncing back at the mission panel.


    “Continue moving forward andplete your search for the supercats on the ind. Reward: Speed + 0.”


    With a bent of his knees, William had exploded forward like a rocket as he plunged into the depths of the ind.


    “Hahahaha! The supercats and aerolite on the ind will all belong to me! With them and gd-syste, I will be an unprecedented force in the world. No one will dare to fight against me.”


    Those words were music to Zhao Yao’s ears. His lips curled into a smile as he tugged Xiao Yu forward, “I’ll simply let this guy lead the way and find out about the supercats hiding on the ind.”
