Chapter 2549

Even before Laura could answer, the onlookers were snapping at Brenda, "Were you even listening?! The doctor just said you weren''t answering your calls!"

Brenda promptly whipped out her phone, and there were really a dozen missed calls.

As such, she promptly threw a hysterical tantrum. "No... My father''s very sick! He must be transferred back to the ICU!"

Laura scowled. "Sorry, but medical facilities are always in demand. When a patient''s condition is stable, it''s the rule for them to be transferred out of the ICU."

"In demand, my ass! There''s no one here!"

Before Laura answered, Jada snapped, "What now?! With that attitude, you''d be suing the hospital for keeping your father permanently in the ICUter anyway!"

Furious, Brenda strode up, ready to p Jada, but stopped herself as she remembered that Jada would win.

Everyone who saw that was jeering at once.

"Well, your father''s stable. What more do you have to say?"

"And here you are, running elsewhere to nder someone innocent. How low could you stoop?"

"You''re lucky the kid is magnanimous. I''d be suing you if it were me!"

Brenda was absolutely furious but did not dare to snap at the crowd and wheeled on Frank instead. "You did something, didn''t you?!"

"What''s it to you?" Jada snapped coolly.

"I don''t care!" Brenda snapped. "As long as my father doesn''t wake up, this isn''t over yet!"

Frank smirked. "That''s your own problem."

He started to turn and leave, but Brenda stopped him. "No, you don''t get to leave until this is over!"

Frank snorted. "Over? Your father is perfectly fine! You have no cause to give us trouble!"

"Of course I do! This is all your fault-hell, even if my father wakes up, who''s going to pay the medical bills?!"

Frank glowered. "So you''re saying that we''re only innocent unless your father says otherwise?"

    "Exactly!"

Brenda smirked and nodded, as she was dead sure that her father would not wake up so soon.

Jada strode up right then and said, "In that case, the wager stays the same."

Before Brenda could say a word, she nodded. Ttake that as a yes. If this isn''t o fault, then you''re crawling

out of this hospital, and then around it three times!"

Brenda was furious and snorted. "The same goes for you!" "Good. Then let''s go downstairs and see!"

As everyone started downstairs, however, Laura walked to Frank''s side and told him under her breath, "Kid, her father might have recovered, but it''ll still take time for him to wake up. Don''t fall for it!"

"Don''t worry. I know what I''m doing." Frank chuckled.

    Laura frowned in silence.

He knew what he was doing?

Even if that was true, would he know better than a doctor?

"Kid..." Laura tried to reason with him again but was ignored as Frank had already turned to leave.

She hurried after him but could not reach him again with a crowd between them.

Meanwhile, Brenda and the others were soon outside Albus'' ward.

To be honest, she was starting to suspect that Frank was secretly colluding with the hospital and did not tell her that her father had already woken up.

    ?

Still, she realized that she was just paranoid when she saw her father lying quietly

    on his bed.
