Momentster, Frank returned to the backseat of the Rolls-Royce, and Sally asked, "Why go through so much trouble? If I were you, I''d just round them up instead of searching around!"
She certainly did not understand why Frank would ask the chauffeur to cover him while he looked around -what if those thugs were ready for them?
Frank smiled. "Are you sure that the man you threw out of the car was telling the truth? It''d be terrible if we got the wrong target!"
"Why bother about mere mortals? There''s plenty of them to go around-if there''s a mistake, so be it." Sally scoffed, clearly not worried about them.
Knowing that there was no getting through to her, Frank did not bother to exin himself and told the chauffeur to get going.
"What about that woman? Did you really spare her life?" Sally pressed.
Frank snorted. "There''s only that many second chances one could give, and she''s not one to be
appeased. I didn''t do it though-I threw her a knife and told her to do it herself, though I offered to help if she refused."
Sally smiled and nodded. "At the very least, you did the right thing on that asion... And where''s the radio? Didn''t you take it?"
Frank shrugged. "It''s not that high-tech. We can get one ourselves!"
With that, Sally said nothing else, while the Rolls-Royce arrived at Chandlerton after an hour.
All the vigers spotted the luxurious car and immediately mobbed it.
The vige road was already narrow, and with that many people and the size of the Rolls-Royce, it could hardly move.
Sally smiled in wry amusement right then. "I told you not toe inside, but you didn''t listen. Well, we''re now stuck!"
Frank did not respond and simply waved his hand.
A strong gust kicked up, lifting dust and pebbles into the air, scattering the vigers.
"Ah, I almost forgot. You''re different now!" Sally chuckled under her breath.
Frank still ignored her and released the wind while telling the chauffeur to continue.
Soon, they were outside Whitney Chandler''s mansion, where she was eating just outside the front door.
Seeing
Rolls-Royce and quickly
that it was Frank, sheet
put down her knife and fork and
arted toward the gates.
Frank and Sally both alighted just then, carrying several bags.
"What''s this? You really didn''t have to bring gifts!"
Whitney appeared upset, but she was inwardly delighted.
The gifts were not only from Frank, as Sally had given some too, showing her sincerity.
As everyone sat down, Whitney asked, "So? You''re not justing back to visit, are you?"
Frank chuckled. "What are you
saying?
visit
why can''t it be just a simple
en you''ve been so good to
me?"
Whitney rolled her eyes. "Just stop flirting already. Go on, tell me what is it?"
Frank whipped out a debit card and put it on the table, saying, "There''s ten million in there=" "Nope. Not taking it!" Whitney glowered as she promptly slid the card back toward him.
"Just hear me out!" Frank threw his hands up. "The money isn''t a gift. Frankton Group is supporting the government''s campaign to improve this vige''s living conditions andbat poverty. If we seeded, my reputation would skyrocket while Frankton Group would benefit too. What reason do you have to reject a win-win deal like this?"
