Frank waited for a taxi and headed to his destination.
Soon, the taxi stopped outside a dpidated apartment.
As Frank alighted and stared at the cracks on every block or the shaky foundations, even he could tell that it was in such a bad state it must be demolished.
Shaking his head, he sighed in exasperation and entered the fifth unit on the sixth floor of Block D.
He knocked on the door, and a smiling geezer opened it as he studied him. "What can I do for you, sir?"
Able to tell right away that he was special, Frank asked, "Let''s just call it a visit. I heard you could craft mystic items?"
The geezerughed right then. "I knew it. The nail that sticks out really gets hammered! I just want to keep my head down and live out my days, but you found me anyway."
"Please don''t misunderstand, sir," Frank quickly said. "I''m no robber, and I''m not going to steal from you. As long as you assist me, I can do anything for you."
"Let''s talk inside." The geezer stepped aside to let Frank enter.
Making Frank tea and turning on the radio, he reclined against his lounger and asked, "You were saying that you''d do anything?"
Seeing Frank nod with determination, he said, "I''m not going to lie-there''s something that has been weighing down on my heart for a long time, but whether you''re brave enough for it remains to be seen."
Frank chuckled. "It still depends on the task. And I would nevermit a crime!"
The geezer smiled, shaking his head. "Don''t worry-I may have a skill, but I won''t abuse it to coerce others. All I ask is for you to kill a wicked person. That''s not a crime, is it?"
Frank said, "Please borate!"
"It may paint a bad light on myself, but I had been something of a yboy when I was younger."
The geezer sighed. "As it turns out
there wa
thisdy who was bent on
marrying me, but I was
marked, and I refused to betray my wife.
"But because I rejected thedy, her love turned to spite, and she massacred my
family."
Even as the geezer recounted his tale, he became so agitated that he almost leapt to his feet!
Still, he soon sighed and calmed
down. "I stood no chance against her... Well, many wouldn''t either.
That was why I couldn''t have met
revenge even now. But if you can help me, sess notwithstanding, I will help you. Even if it''s just an
attempt, and as long as you make it back alive."
Frank stood up "In that case, can you tell me where that woman lives?"
The geezer took a note out of his pocket and passed it to Frank, who read it before returning it.
Then, he took a cab to a vige in the outskirts of the city.
As soon as he reached it, he sensed something unusual-there were at least twenty Ascendant ranked individuals here!
Frank smirked. You never know what people lived within the quieter reaches of the world, and this mysterious group was a perfect example.
Even as the thought crossed his mind, a man leapt in his way. "Are you here for ourdy, to avenge that family?"
Frank nodded he had no reason to hide that.
The manughed in turn. "I''m
velbet
surprised you have some resolve despite your unassuming
appearance, admitting to something like that so boldly!" fo
