Chapter 147

“He’s Severin? I thought he just came out of prison. Is he that rich already?” Maryam frowned. She

wondered if it was a dream because everything was simply so surreal to her.

On one side, Stanley said, “That’s him alright. He’s the one who made a big fuss at the hotel during

    Easton’s wedding that day!”

After hearing what Stanley said, there was nothing Maryam could say despite her unwillingness.

Catherine remembered that she needed Severin’s help with Liberty City and could not help but say to

Diane, “Diane, you’re back! Shouldn’t you be introducing your man to us?”

Many years have passed since Diane was kicked out of the house, and although she did feel that her

grandmother had crossed the line back then, she could not say that she hated the olddy either. After

all, the only reason she got wasted and slept with Severin in a drunken encounter was because she did

not want to marry Edward and ran away as a result. Therefore, she always felt that she was

responsible for everything that happened after that, especially in terms of causing the Shanahans to

lose their reputation in the past few years.

After hearing the olddy’s tone, she forced a smile and said, “Grandma, this is Severin. That’s his

mother, Judith, and his father, Maurice!”

    “Hello, ma’am!”

    “Hey there, Grandma!”

Severin and his parents immediately greeted the olddy with a smile.

Before long, Diane introduced William, Stanley, and the rest to Severin and his family.

After the introduction, the olddy smiled. “You know, Diane…I do think I went too far in the past. I

kicked you out when you are pregnant, and now that I think about it, I do feel that I’ve crossed the line. I

hope you won’t hold a grudge against me anymore. From now on, the Shanahans will be your second

home, and whenever you have some free time, I hope you’lle back and visit. more often.”

There were traces of surprise in Diane’s eyes, for she did not expect the stubborn olddy to take the

initiative to apologize to her. Since her elder had already gone to such lengths to apologize to her, it

was only right for her not to bear a grudge for what happened a few years ago.

She tried her best to force a smile and said, “I was wrong on my part back then too. My stubbornness

brought disgrace to the Shanahans. I can’t keep hating you, Grandma. You’re still my grandmother no

    matter what happens.

“Hmph. At least you’re aware that you brought disgrace to the family!” Maryam, who was standing on

one side, folded her hands on her chest and muttered softly.

After hearing that, the olddy’s face soured in displeasure and she said to Maryam. “Perhaps you

could go back to your vi for now, Maryam. I have something to discuss with Diane and the others!”

1* Although Maryam was upset, she could only grit her teeth and put on a fake

    smile before turning to leave.

After Maryam left, the olddy looked at Severin. “You’re Severin, right? I’m not surprised that Diane

fell in love with you back then. You really are a good-looking man. I heard that you’re also proficient in

medicine and have superb medical skills. I guess you’re not that useless after all!”

“Thank you for yourpliment, ma’am. I am, as you say, not that useless, haha!” Severin said with a

    faint smile.

Ludith and Maurice nced at each other knowingly. They were no idiots, and they knew exactly what

the olddy was implying. Though she no longer held a grudge about what happened five years ago,

she still seemed very unsatisfied with their son.
