    The flight to Hawaii was routine. I sat in a window seat and mostly looked out. There’s a lot of water


    between LA and Hawaii. Bunch of clouds, too, but mostly water. Would hate to have to swim back


    home.


    It bothered me, not having theforting weight of Wilma in her snug shoulder holster under my coat.


    It was love at first sight. Those sleek lines, the massive power she projected; I just knew I had to have


    her. First chance I got, I took her to the shooting range and had the wild experience of firing a gun most


    Private Dicks would give their right testicle for. She roared loud and mmed those huge rounds into


    the backstop with enough force to shake dust off the ceiling. She had already served me well during


    the Case of the Kidnapped Countess, blowing away Skinny Lister just as he was about to nt a


    couple .45 slugs into yours truly. Served him right when she blew him backwards and out his picture


    window and four stories to the pavement.


    I would feel much better when she was back under my coat.
