Amelia POV


    As Sophia pulled me away from the ward, Dn’s words kept resounding on my head.


    “I’m just doing what a boss should do nothing more! ”

    “You don’t understand Sophia, I love him I do”I cried as I professed my love for Dn. “But he won’t see it because he thinks that I’m a bad person and I.. I. “I blubbered unable to form words.


    “That enough Amelia, he doesn’t deserve your tears. If you don’t stop crying right now I’ll walk in there and punch him”Sophia jokingly threatened Dn.

    Sophia gently pulled my head from her shoulders and walked to her.

    “Babe calm down to think about the baby, fighting isn’t good for the baby” Larry begged Sophia and pulled her away from the scene.


    “You look like a bird that lost its home” Iughed at Anna’s appearance. “And let me tell you lost bird, the next time you call me a bitch I’ll scratch your eyes out “I threatened her and walked away not bothering to see her expression.


    I walked down to the cafeteria in search of Larry and Sophia. There I met Sophia crying over a bowl of ice cream.


    “Sophia” I called her name and she turned to look at me.


    “Amelia, I’m sorry I was angry.  she called me a whale”Sophia cried and she swallowed her ice cream while Larry pats her back.


    “I should be saying sorry, Larry please take Sophia home she needs rest “.


    “Are you chasing me away because I look like a whale? “Sophia said ring at me?


    “No Sophia, why will I call you a whale. You are beautiful just the way you are”


    “Right being fat is beautiful,” she said sarcastically.


    “You ain’t fat babe you are carrying our baby and it’s a big joy “Larry added and kissed her forehead.


    “I’m sorry for my outburst Amelia, I’m just acting weird this day “she cried. I quickly hug her to stop her from saying anything else.


    “Take her home Larry, I’ll let you know when my mum is out of surgery “I assured.


    Larry nodded and grabbed a tired Sophia out of the hospital. I sighed in relief when they left. I went back to the theatre hallway and before I knew it I had dozed off.

    A voice woke up from my slumber, I woke up with a groan and rubbed my head.


    “Ouch, what time is it?”I asked the person who woke me up.


    “11 pm” the person replied.


    I opened my eyes and saw the doctor staring back at me.


    “Oh doctor it you, what about my mother? Is she fine? “I quickly asked to make sure she is fine.


    “The surgery ended an hour ago and it was sessful “he blurted out, I jumped at his news and hugged him. When I realized my mistake I cleared my throat and pulled away. “Sorry doctor, I was just overwhelmed “I quickly said to clear the misunderstandings.


    “It’s okay I get that a lot”the doctor replied smiling at me.


    “Can I see my mother? “I requested because I badly wanted to see her.


    “You can’t see her yet bute with me,” He said as he lead me to the ward. “Your mother is a strong woman Amelia and she deserves a great daughter like you, “the doctor said. I smiled at him and watched my mother from the ss that was separating us from the ward. She looked better but some wires were still attached to her body, in curiosity, I decided to ask the doctor why.


    “She needs to regain her strength, the surgery was not a simple surgery “he exined to me and I nodded in agreement. “Don’t worry your mother will wake up soon, she is a strong woman” he reassured and walked away. I stared at my mother through the ss and cried because she always wanted to hear again and now it was finally happening.

    Two dayster, my mother finally woke up and I was happy to see her speak again and also hear us with the help of the hearing aid. I didn’t bother to ask about Dn but I heard from the doctor that he was getting discharged today, I wanted to thank him but I didn’t want his mother’s trouble and fights. Larry and Sophia were supportive, they offered to let us stay in their house because our home was In ruins. Like I’ve heard from the neighbors the house was almost destroyed but the fire extinguishers came and put out the fire, well some of our properties were left unburnt.


    “Thank you guys for your love”I thanked Larry and Sophia.


    “You shouldn’t be thanking us, Amelia, you should thank Dn. He did this. “Sophia pointed out and point to the hallways. My eyes met with Dn’s and he gave me a small smile. I walked to him and invited him to meet my mother.


    “Let give them some privacy baby” I could hear Larry said as he pulled Sophia away from the room.


    “Hello, Mrs brown”Dn greeted my mother as he walked in.


    “Mrs brown? Call me Luciana son. You must be Dn I have heard a lot about you. Some were bad and some were good. I must thank you for saving our lives and for paying for the hospital bills. I will forever be in your debt Dn. “My mother told Dn and thanked him for everything.


    “You don’t owe me anything Luciana, I was just doing my job, “Dn said. They both talked for few minutes before Dn said he was leaving. I escorted him out and thanked him for everything.

    I nodded in response and pulled away from the hug.


    “It’s okay Dn, I don’t want toe between you and Anna, “I told him to make sure he understands that I was not sulking over what he said. “Take care Dn and thanks for everything, “I told him and walked back to the ward breathing heavily.


    “Hey mum, I’m happy you can hear again, “I told her, she smiled and embraced me. Too many hugs in one day.


    “Thank you Amy for being a good daughter,” she said and embraced me again. “Amy always remember this follow your heart and fight for what is yours “. I gave her a weird look cause I didn’t understand a thing she said, she then started singing and for the first time in a long time I cried and the tears were tears of joy. We both sang a fight song by Rachael tten.


    I joined my mother in singing and our voices filled the room. Happiness is truly free.
