Amelia POV


    Two days after I was discharged I resumed work, as I walked into thepany that morning I told myself I was going to ignore Dn because he didn’t deserve my words.


    “Amelia, it’s nice to see you again” Diana rushed to hug me. “How are you doing? She asked as she hugged me.


    “I’m better”I replied smiling at her, at least she called me to ask about my health. “Is the boss in?” I asked her because I didn’t feel like seeing his face but unfortunately, she nodded and that indicated that he was around.


    “Okay, thank you I’ll see you around, “I told her and walked to the elevator.


    When I entered my office, I dropped my bag and headed to his office. I knocked and entered, I met him engrossed on hisputer.


    “Good morning sir “I greeted him sounding professional. He looked up and smiled at me. I felt like wiping the smile off his face.


    “How are you, Amelia”? He asked sounding concerned as if he was, I scoffed and gave him no reply. I walk to his table and dropped the coffee on his table.


    “Amelia I asked you a question ” he repeated but I pretended I didn’t hear what he was saying and then I began to inform him about his meetings and schedules.


    “Sir, you have a meeting with Mr. Lawson by Tomorrow and also Alisha Johnson is requesting for a lunch meeting with you,” I told him and continue to talk but a Loud noise on his table shut me up. He stood up and walked towards me, I took few steps back to avoid getting close to him.


    “Amelia, when I ask you a question you reply in words. You don’t get to ignore my word!! ” he shouted, I could feel the heating from the room even with the air con on.


    “Rx, if you keep shouting you might burst into mes,” I told him and that got him angry. He grabbed my hand and pushed me against the wall, he red at me and punched the wall beside me.. “Dn, what are you doing? ”


    “What I’m I doing? The question should be, Amelia what’s wrong with you? “he asked yelling. “Why are you ignoring me? ” he asked calmly.


    “You don’t get to ask that Dn, you promise you wereing to pick me up but you didn’t, I waited for Dn thinking you wille but you didn’t! ” I shouted at him to let him know how angry I was.


    “So this is what it is about because I didn’t pick you up. Grow up Amelia, you should have known that I was busy. Anna kept calling nonstop when I was with you cause I n to see her but I couldn’t cause I was with you, I had to go see her and before I knew it the time was far spent when I got to the hospital you we’re no longer there” he exined to me but I was still angry, I was pissed that he could choose Anna over me but who I’m I? I’m a nobody to him, at least he should havee back for me.


    “Oh really, ever heard of the word calling to check on someone? ” I scoffed and eye him, he ruffled his hair and sighed.


    “Okay Amelia, I’m sorry that I didn’t call you happy” one thing that hasn’t change about Dn was his ways of apologizing, when we’re still together he always apologized first whether I was right or wrong.


    “If you are apologizing might as well do it properly” I hissed at him, he looked at me in the eye and say the magic word properly.


    “I’m sorry Amelia, I should have called”. He apologized and hugged me. I hugged him back and we were like that for some minute until he pulled away. “So friends? ” he asked pouting, I punched him on the stomach. He faked groaned and burst outughing. “You punch like a tiny ant” he teased andughed.


    “Funny” I smiled.


    “Friends? “He asked again offering his hand.


    “Friends “I replied and shook his hand then I raised my finger in a warning and said “if you fuck up again, I’ll castrate you” I threatened.


    “Ouch Amy, don’t talk like that again” he joked and we bothughed, someone cleared their throat at the entrance of the door and we both turned to the door.


    Right just the person I needed to see, guess what? Anna is here.


    “I’m I interrupting something cause you both look cozy together” I could she was seething with anger because her looks could kill.


    Dn quickly rushed to her and grabbed her hand. “Anna is not what it looks like, I was just informing her about the trip to Paris”.


    “What trip? ” Anna and I both asked at the same time.


    She red at me and asked Dn again


    “It’s a business trip to Paris” he tried to exin but fail at it so I decided to help him.


    “It a business trip that requires both the assistant and the boss. “I exined to her.


    she red at me then turned to face Dn. “Can I go with you? ” she asked.


    “Anna it’s a business deal, not a party deal” he groaned and shook his head.


    “Okay,” she said and walked to me” and you,” she pointed to me. “what are you still waiting for?  go away “she yelled at me.


    I couldn’t just stand and let her insult me. I was ready to give her a piece of her mind but Dn stepped in and politely requested me to go to my office. I gave Anna a long stare before walking out and mming the door loudly.


    One hourter, I saw her walking out of his office. Dn walked her to the elevator and kissed her passionately. Even a blind man could see they were in love and I was the block in between them. I turned away from them because I couldn’t watch them anymore. I focused on some files just to clear my mind off them… Some minutester the phone rang.


    “Amelia brown speaking ”


    “In my office now! ” hemanded. I dropped the call and walked out of my office.  Without bothering to knock, I barged in and mmed the door with force.


    “You called me sir” I announced.  He raised a brow and gave me a weird look.


    “About the trip to Paris… Prepare we shall be going in two weeks. I’ll send the details to your email tomorrow ” he informed me and went back to hisputer.


    “Paris! “I eximed. I was happy and at the same time surprised. “I thought you were joking, you know like using it as a cover-up”


    “Yup we are going to Paris “…


    “Okay boss” I saluted like a police officer and just then my phone beeped in my pocket, I pulled it out and read the message sent by an unknown number.


    always watch your back, mummy is going to have watched her back too. You never know what might happen. Baaaam!! Mummy is dead.


    I couldn’t do anything.  my hand felt numb. The tears rushed out as I couldn’t stop it. my phone fell to the floor and it caught Dn’s attention.


    “Amelia are you alright? ” he asked, I turned to face him with tears in my eyes. “Fuck” he stood up and walked to me. “Why are you crying? “He asked sounding worried. “Amelia talk to me”


    “He has my mum, my mother is going to die Dn” I cried, I bent down and grabbed my phone. “I can still save her, right? ” I sobbed and typed furiously on my phone.


    “Mum where are you? ”


    I sent her the message and waited for her reply. Dn called my name but I didn’t answer him I had to make sure my mother was fine. A message popped in and I saw my mother’s reply.


    Inside watching Netflix, what wrong?


    I sighed in relief. I was d she was okay. Dn grabbed me and pulled me into his arms.


    “Tell me what’s wrong. Why are you crying? Who are you texting? ” he asked but I gave him no reply.


    I sent a message to my mum telling her to leave the house ande outside. we began to chat and I was relieved she was replying but I have to save her.


    “I have to go”I announced to Dn who was looking at me with confusion written on his face.


    “Go where? Amelia, what is going on? ”


    “He has my mum, don’t you get it if I don’t go now my mother is going to die!! “I yelled.


    “Then I’ming with you, I don’t understand what is going on but I’lle with you ” he announced.


    “Are you insane? I’ll go myself”I told him but he Insisted.


    “For once Amelia listen to me, what if the guy attacks you? Let me go with you please” he calmly said.


    “Let go then,” I told him. I sent a text to my mother to go outside.  I promised her that I would soon be at home.Exclusive content from N?velDrama.Org.
