Chapter 36 It Was All Because of Hamish
After driving for a while, Isobel found something strange. She nced at Stanley, "Stanley, this is not
the way to my house."
"I know."
The man who was driving the car nced at her, "It is eleven o’clock now. Don’t you have lunch?"
"I’ll go back and cook some noodles."
Stanley looked at her andughed, "Be good. Do you want to go to the hospital again?"
Isobel became silent and did not speak again.
What happened these days pushed her buttons again and again.
Every time when she felt very terrible, there would be something else to make her more miserable.
And it was all because of Hamish.
She didn’t want to think of him.
Isobel didn’t see Stanley anymore and just closed her eyes.
Stanley didn’t embarrass her too much. He sent her back home after lunch.
"Thank you."
"Stop saying thank you. Go back and think about what I said. Hamish is not a good man and I can take
you and your mother out of here if you want."
Stanley did know her.
Thomas had be a handful of ashes. Whether his death had anything to do with Hamish or not,
Isobel didn’t want to know.
Hamish’s parents died in a car ident ten years ago, so the Lewis family did owe him.
She only had her mother now, but Amanda was addicted to gambling. The only way was to take her out
of City N and find a new ce to start a new life.
All of Stanley’s businesses were here, but he offered to take them out of here.
Even though Isobel didn’t love Stanley, she was also very moved by him.
In fact, she didn’t know what she could do in City N. Their family was not originally from City N. It was
because of Thomas’s job transfer that they came here.
Once some ideas came into being, people had no way to kill them.
She used to be naive. She thought that after she separated from Hamish, they really had nothing to do
with each other.
But in City N, no matter hard she tried to avoid Hamish, and she still couldn’t get rid of himpletely.
She had never had the thought of leaving here before, probably because in her heart, she was not
willing to separate from Hamish.

When the sunlight outside the window came in, Isobel found that she had not fallen asleep all night.
She raised her hand to wipe away the tears from the corner of her eyes, then got up and went to the
bathroom to wash.
Stanley’s words made her realize that now the people of the Sutton family and the Francis family had
informed thepanies of City N, so she didn’t need to stay here any longer.
Isobel was determined to leave City N, and now the first thing was to find Amanda.
She didn’t contact Amanda after she left in the early morning of that day. It was not easy to find
Amanda now.
Since Amanda became addicted to gambling, she had rarely stayed at home.
Not surprisingly, when Isobel came home, she found nothing.
In fact, she had a way to find Amanda, but she didn’t want to bother to find Amanda before. Now she
could find Amanda quickly.
Stanley had ordered that his people couldn’t serve Amanda. So Amanda was not on Stanley’s territory.
It was not the first time that Isobel hade to such a terrible ce. When Amanda started gambling,
she went to find Amanda herself several times.
At the beginning, Amanda had some sense. Seeing Isobel crying, Amanda obediently went home with
Isobel.
But now Amanda hadpletely lost her mind, and Isobel didn’t expect to convince Amanda.
Isobel brought two helpers, but they were stopped as soon as they got to the door of the store, "Hey,
what do you mean by bringing people here?"
The man’s expression was frightening, though his words were polite.
Isobel knew what the man thought, "I’m here to find my mom. Don’t worry! I’m not here to make
trouble."
When the man heard her words, he raised his eyebrows and asked, "Who’s your mother? I’ll see if your
mother is here. If not, you’ll scare my guests by bringing two people in."
"Amanda."
Hearing the name, the man blinked, "Pretty girl, I’m sorry. Not everyone could be essible to my
store. I’ve never heard of Amanda."
Isobel noted a changee over his face. She thought of Stanley’s words, her expression bing

cold, "I really don’t want to make trouble here today. But if you still stop me from going in, I’ll have to
make some trouble!"
When Isobel said these words, she had no expression on her face.
When the man heard her words, he suddenlyughed, "Little girl, you are so young. Why do you like to
brag? Do you know whose territory this ce is? Dare you make trouble?"
Isobel naturally knew that the ce was protected. The ce would have been sealed up if it hadn’t
been protected.
But Isobel was determined to take Amanda away today. When she saw that the man didn’t want to let
her in, she took out her mobile phone and said, "So, I can only call the police!"
As soon as the man listened to her words, his expression changed. He reached out and tried to grab
Isobel’s mobile phone, but he was stopped by the persons next to Isobel.
So the man was forced to let her in.
Isobel followed the man to walk in. As soon as she got in, she smelled smoke.
It was a basement. There was no sunshine all the year round. It was dark and messy.
The more they went inside, the louder the shout.
Soon, Isobel saw Amanda.
Amanda was standing in front of a gambling table, pping the table with her hand, shouting "Big
Blind". Her eyes were covered with red blood streaks.
It turned out to be "Little Blind" and Amanda’s facial expression immediately went bad. After a few
sighs, she bit her teeth and looked very unhappy.
Isobel didn’t go further. Pointing to Amanda who was stood in the middle, she told the two men beside
her, "It’s that woman in the white T-shirt. Bring her out!"
There were not many women at the table, and Isobel looked like Amanda, so the two men recognized
Amanda at a nce.
Amanda gritted her teeth and bet all her money. She believed she would win this time!
But before the result, she was suddenly caught by two men.
Amanda had been around these ces all these years, and she understood something. Realizing that
she was suddenly caught by others, she immediately changed her expression, "Hey, bro, are you
looking for the wrong person? I just came here to y. I..."
"Why are you here?"
Before she could finish her words, Amanda’s changed her expression again when she saw Isobel.
Instead of answering her question, Isobel told the two men, "Let’s get out!"
It happened almost every day. No one in the casino thought it was strange, so Amanda was taken
away and no one stopped them.
But Amanda was not happy. She was caught and walked away. And she still scolded Isobel, "Isobel!
What’s going on! How can you do this to your mother? You tell them to let me go! I tell you, I’m going to
win a lot of money. If I win a lot of money, you will get rich dowry when you get married, and your man
will not despise you!"
Isobel had heard these words more than ten times.
At first she was a little moved, butter she was numb to these words, because she knew these were
just an excuse for Amanda to gamble.
Whatever Amanda said, Isobel didn’t say anything. When she got out of the secret tunnel and went to
the store, she looked back at Amanda, but she didn’t want to talk to Amanda.
The two men were so strong that Amanda couldn’t get rid of them. She saw the steward and shouted,
"Mr. Mullen! Mr. Mullen! Please help me. What’s the matter with you? How can you let people in and
catch me!"
The man named Mr. Mullen took a look at Isobel, then sneered at Amanda, "Amanda, your daughter is
so tough that we dare not stop her!"
Amanda kept yelling, but Isobel got in the car like she didn’t hear anything.
"Go!"
At hermand, the car went away. Amanda knew she couldn’t get rid of them, so she didn’t yell any
more.
