She heard footstepsing down from the stairs and Jenica squinted her eyes as she crossed her arms against her chest. It seemed like her husband was a good friend with her enemy? Or maybe not?

    “What are you doing?” she asked and stood in front of the poor man.


    Jared looked up at her and his lips parted. She even saw how his cheeks flushed in embarrassment that rendered her speechless. What the heck did she just see? Jared’s blushing? She might as well check if this is really the man she’s been looking for.


    “You’re Alex’s wife?” Jared asked and stood up. He shook his head and straightened the tangled clothes, smiling widely at her.


    Jenica’s eyes narrowed and she crossed her arms over her chest. “Who are you?” she asked. She also secretly looked at him from head to toe, and she didn’t find anything suspicious on Jared’s face.


    He extended his hand in front of her. “I’m Jared Redcliffe, Alex’s friend!” he said, so bubbly that Jenica grimaced.
